Luke gulped and did everything he could to remain standing. He'd never wanted to see Oscar and Aldous again. Especially after everything that happened.

Nina glared. "What do you want with us?"

"To tell us why the two of you were snooping around our hideout!" snapped Aldous.

"Wait, did you see anyone else?" asked Luke.

Oscar shook his head.

Phew, the others are safe, thought Luke, relieved.

"Well, we tracked you down here because the two of you are wanted fugitives!" said Nina boldly.

"We won't be fugitives if our plan works," said Aldous menacingly. "And until that happens, I think Luke should spend time in the dungeon."

"What about the girl?" asked Oscar.

"There's someone else that wants to speak to her," replied Aldous.

While all this happened, Trey, Alia, Matthias and Percy were about a mile down the road.

Just a short while ago, Trey had awoken inside the minivan and he watched Aldous Krakenaur exit the warehouse via the front door followed by an armed mob of people.

Trey had then proceeded to hastily wake the others and they all hid under their seats.

Luckily, the mob was too ignorant to check the minivan.

Nina and Luke's absences were noticed, but nobody felt they could do anything about it.

Once it was deemed safe, Trey, Alia, Percy, and Matthias got out of the minivan and ran away as fast as they could.

After about a mile, Matthias turned around to face the others and stop. "Guys, wait!"

Alia, Trey, and Percy stopped running.

"I can't believe we're still doing this," said Matthias. "I can't believe that we're still running from Aldous and the Population Police."

"Those people weren't the Population Police," pointed out Percy.

"It doesn't matter who those people were," said Matthias. "The point is that just a few years ago, Aldous had the Population Police chasing us, making sure that we die. Now, after all that has been outlawed, we're still running from Aldous. Well that stops now."

Alia sighed. "Matthias has a point."

Trey looked at the others. "Well, what are we supposed to do? We can't just charge into that warehouse to try to take down Oscar and Aldous. That would be suicide."

"That's why we just call for reinforcements," said Matthias. "And I know just who to call."

Meanwhile, back at the warehouse, Nina was thrown roughly into a dark room.

She got up as fast as she could in an attempt to escape, but the door shut too soon and Nina was sealed in inky black darkness.

But this didn't last long, because a light was turned on and the room was illuminated.

Nina observed her surroundings. The room she was in was quite small. There were two small chairs and a bed in the back right corner.

There was also another occupant. Jason Barstow.
