Hi everybody! *waves* I'm pretty happy to be back. Well, I'm glad everybody enjoyed last chapter because I have much plans to do with Cynthia and Cam. Ok everybody let's start reading.
Cam entered Advanced Trig to earn a surprise of his own. The teacher of the class was Maya's father. No one registered his surprise as anything that mattered, but once her father stared at the door his face didn't look too happy. Instead of creating a scene, Mr. Matlin cleared his throat and acknowledged Cam as one of the new students, but no one needed the introduction of a famous hockey player coming to Washington for school. He nodded to his fellow classmen and sat in the back like he did at Degrassi on his first day.
"Alright, students please open your books to page six…"
Cam obeyed the teacher but his thoughts drifted somewhere else. He couldn't forget about Maya because her dad was his teacher. It sounded crazy, absurd, and highly impossible, but there was nothing he could think about besides Maya and her clone. He smiled. Cynthia was shy, just like Maya. He was eager to let go of her and focus on his new life.
Suddenly a piece of paper landed on his desk. He snapped back to the present wondering who might've thrown it. Ignoring the thought, he slowly unfolded the letter to read someone's very messy writing.
If you think u can sway people to think you're cool and popular, think again. I know ice hockey players who are just at school to show of their prowess.
A sudden shiver ran through Cam. It was like someone giving a death note and you didn't know who it was from. He looked around to see who would've thrown it or even passed it, but nobody's expression was giving anything away. If they thought he was some jock who showed off, then they wer wrong. If only they could see that he was nothing like the others on his team back at Degrassi, then they would think of him differently. Then again, Cam was always shown on TV for anything spectacular or tragic he's ever done. That didn't mean he was a show off for actually being forced on live television, was he? He shook of the thought. This was his new school, let them think what they wanted. I am not gonna mess this up.
Once the bell rang, Cam stood up immediately from his chair to run to his next class, but someone held him back.
"Mr. Saunders, may I have a moment of your time?"
"Mr. Matlin, I don't think I can, my teachers are expected to see me."
"Oh don't worry, I'll give them a pass and let them know you were stuck with me."
There was no other excuse Cam could give so he sighed and nodded.
"Please shut the door."
Cam obliged and sat in one of the seats in front of Mr. Matlin.
"I am a little shocked to see you in my class." He said drumming his fingers on his desk.
"Yes, I transferred out of Degrassi to come here."
"Why?"
"For personal reasons that I'm not allowed to say."
"Oh I apologize, but last I heard you were obviously content back in Toronto, why would you want to start over?"
It was the same question Cam needed to ask himself.
"Like I said, it was for personal reasons that we moved here."
"Does Maya know you're here?
"Yes."
A short pause hung in the room. Mr. Matlin showed quite an interest in Cam. He trusted him with his daughter because of his loyalty towards her and also to him and his wife. Ever since then, he never saw neither Maya nor Cam or even them as a couple anymore. He had a strange wanting to ask about their relationship or even how Maya was, but it seemed again a little too personal. There were many reasons why he had moved to Washington. None of them being one of his favorites to address. Probably at this point Maya had never told Cam anything about it.
"Well, I hope she's okay and you two are doing just great."
"Yup." He said as enthusiastically as he could manage.
"That is all, thanks for your time Cam."
"Your welcome."
Cam opened the door to his next class.
Maya Pov
It had been two months since my departure with Cam. Two months since he left me to go to Washington. I never knew the real reason, but I hoped he was okay. There wasn't a day where I never thought about him, not a single day where I drifted on our memories of our first date, our first kiss, and even those small little things we did out of love for each other. The only back up I had in all this was Tristan. Ok, well he didn't turn out to be the a** he used to be when cam was still here. HE told me that he wanted to get along with everybody including Meagan. I asked him if he truly didn't like her, but he kind of favored her since Tori left us. I was a little disappointed, but Tristan was always like that. I roamed through my classes like I was a zombie like for Eli's movie a year ago. I didn't get much sleep at night, and usually I would take naps in between classes. All for the sake of Campbell Saunders.
Weekends became boring, Tristan never spent time with me often as he used to. Meagan was his world, or so I thought. Everytime I asked, he would give some lame excuse, but I'd cut him off before he would blurt out the excuse.
One day, Meagan came up to me in such a giddy mood. Maybe she was on drugs cuz I felt like slapping her for stealing my best friend.
"Heeey Mini Mat! What's up?"
"why are you in such a good mood?"
"OH for me it's because I got a 90 on chemistry, but Tristan wanted to tell you something."
He stood right beside her his face in deep worry.
"I don't know how to say this Maya, but Cam is dating another girl in Washington. He's totally over you."
"You're kidding." I laughed. It had to be a joke. Why wasn't he laughing with me?
Tristan face stayed the same and then he took out his phone to show a picture of them.
Cam had his arms around a girl while they were on the beach. She looked…. Almost like me; except a little prettier. He looked happy almost ecstatic. My eyes drowned with tears and it felt like when he left all over again.
Campbell Saunders, I hate you I hate you!
Without a further reply Katie drove me home, letting me drown in my own sadness.
Don't we feel sorry for Maya? Anyway, right now I know it sounds bad, but trust me everything will be better in the end. This story will be ending pretty soon, but don't fret. I 'm gonna make them the best. This one wasn't my personal best. I just thought it would run smoothly. Anyway I'll explain about Cam and Cynthia's relationship next chapter relating their date on the beach. Anyway you know what to do. Until next time
Dani*
