It's Christmas again! Yay! Here's my gift to you for my early Christmas! I finally finished chapter two and it only took seven months! Enjoy!
Alex got up the next morning and snuck out to the upper deck. She stared at the beautiful white snow on the deck. She took a deep breath and began to glow. This time the strong wind only blew a small path from the lower deck to the bridge and then to the dining room. She lowered back to the deck and smiled before heading up to the bridge.
Lillie was the second to open her eyes. She jumped up and ran to Vanessa's bed. "Wake up! It's Christmas!" she squealed.
"Already?" Tove moaned. "Can't we sleep in for another few minutes?"
"No!" Lillie snapped. "Everyone has to be up so we can open presents! Come on, come on!"
"I'm up," Nya said, pushing herself up. She yawned and got out of bed. "Lillie, why don't you go wake the boys."
"Okay!" Lillie smiled, running out of the room.
"Thank you, Nya," Tove said. "You have no idea how much this"—she yawned—"means to…" The Ninja of Spirits drifted back to sleep.
"She's going to be hearing from Lillie, eh," Vanessa said.
"Yeah," Nya said. "Let's go."
Lillie ran into the boys room, practically stumbling into Lloyd and knocking them both on his bed. "Oh, sorry Lloyd," she said. "Merry Christmas."
"Merry Christmas," Lloyd smiled. They both stood up. "Wanna help me wake the others?"
Lillie nodded. "On three?"
Lloyd looked to the guys. Considering they did this to the girls all the time, it was only fair. He turned back to Lillie and nodded. "One."
"Two."
"Three! Merry Christmas!"
Kai fell out of bed, Jay stumbling on top of him. Cole jumped, hitting his head off the ceiling, and Zane just opened his eyes unfazed.
"I'm okay!" Jay called.
"I'm not! Get off!" Kai said, pushing Jay off him. "Why did you two…"
"Because everyone has to be awake before we can open presents!" Lillie exclaimed. "Oh, and uh, as for who wakes Sensei and the others…not it!"
"Not it!"
"Not it!"
"Not it!"
"Not it!"
"Not it!"
"Haha, Kai's last!" Jay taunted.
Kai rolled his eyes. "Fine!"
Lloyd walked into the bridge where Alex was. The pink ninja was sitting against the wall, staring at the Christmas tree. "Still tired?" Lloyd asked.
Alex slightly nodded. "I guess, yeah. Where're the others?"
"Well, the guys are watching Kai wake up Sensei and Lillie went to try and get the girls awake," Lloyd said. He took a seat next to his sister. "I have a question."
"What's that?"
"Do you write letters to Santa?"
Alex looked to her brother. "I did when I was younger," she confessed, "but I haven't since then. Why?"
"I was just wondering, 'cause ya know Jay, Lillie, and I all write letters. I think Cole wrote on last year," Lloyd said. "Zane writes them. I was just wondering if you did too."
"Nope," Alex said. "I haven't since I was…I think eleven."
"I would've been three…that's when Dad was–"
"I know what happened," Alex said, not wanting a reminder. The others came in and the Garmadon siblings stood up.
"Let's start opening presents!" Lillie squealed.
"Don't worry Kai, I didn't get you coal this year," Alex said.
"We miss everything!" Tove exclaimed. The ninja sat down to open presents.
Later...
"Dad! I'm so glad you made it!" Cole said, hugging his dad.
"I wouldn't miss it for the world," Lou smiled.
"Hi, Mr. Hence," Alex smiled awkwardly. "How have you been?"
"Good," Lou said before heading into the dining room.
"Geez," Alex mumbled. "I'm doing great, glad he asked."
"I think he's warming up to you," Cole said. "Last time he didn't answer."
Alex thought for a moment. "Yeah, I guess it's an improvement." She walked over to Tove. "So am I meeting my uncle and aunt and other cousins or..."
"Nope," she said, turning invisible and leaving.
Alex crossed her arms. "Yeah, well...whatever."
The ninja all sat around the table. Zane brought dinner out and every started getting food on their plate. "I'd like to make a toast," Kai said.
"Go for it, Kai," Jay said.
"I may have had the wrong idea about Christmas last year, so I'd like to just say, I'm glad I can be with people that I'm close to for Christmas. To family!"
"Here, here!"
Kai sat back down and Alex stood. "I have a toast," she announced. "I've been running from my feelings too long." She turned to Cole. "Cole, I love you. You've always been there for me, and I'm glad to be so close to you. So this toast is to Cole!"
"Here, here."
Alex sat down, earning a slight glare from Lou and Garmadon.
Cole stood. "In which case, I'd like to say that, I love you too, Alex. So to my new girlfriend!"
Everyone stared at Cole for a moment. Alex stood. "Here, here," she smiled and they kissed. They sat back down and looked to the others.
"Finally! I didn't know how much longer it would take for you two to notice!" Tove said. "I'd like to make a toast to these two not being as clueless as I thought!"
"Here, here!"
"Merry Christmas!"
"Let's just eat!"
Kinda a rough ending (it's almost 1am get over it)...see you in December! Review!
