'Thoughts'
In the Great Hall, Harry, Hermione, Ron, Neville, and Luna were both shocked and surprised to see Chris and Ed already at the teachers' table. They waved at the five with amused smiles and glanced to their left to see Umbridge walking towards them again and sighed in exasperation. She didn't seem very bright, always approaching them after being given death threats. "I would like you two to give me a demonstration of your magic." Umbridge said in fake sweet voice. The Great Hall became silent immediately, the incident between the defense teacher and alternate magic teachers still fresh in everyone's mind.
The enraged look in Christine's red eyes a few days ago made even Snape nervous as Ed and Chris "contemplated" their answer. After a tense silence, the two finally spoke. "No." Harry stared in awe along with Ron and Hermione as Ed and Chris slowly stood, finished eating, and began to walk towards the door. "Wait! What do you mean, no?!" Umbridge called angrily, stomping her foot like a child. Chris turned halfway so she could look at the witch before her with a truly bored expression. "We have no reason to demonstrate our abilities to someone who vehemently demands it everyday." She said tiredly, her eyes flashing red for five seconds.
"Also, you may want to refrain from entering our classroom without permission. There's no telling what even I could do to an intruder bent on interrupting class." Ed called as he stuck his hands into his pockets and continued walking. When the doors closed the students immediately began to talk about the teachers, even the Slytherins. Snape sent a suspicious glance to the doors before continuing with his meal and leaving to prepare for his own classes. Soon everyone was on their way to class, Harry making his way to Alchemy and Martial Arts class with his friends. They would be learning with the Slytherins today.
~Class~
"Alright class, before we begin, we have a new seating chart for you." Chris started when everyone sat down. Harry had a sense of foreboding as he listened to his two friends and professors explain the new seating chart. "The person who will be sitting next to you is going to be your partner for the rest of the year in this class. They will be your partner for both alchemy and martial arts." Ed explained as he and Chris read through their lists and secretly recorded the students reactions. Gryffindors were paired with Slytherins while Ravenclaws were paired with Hufflepuffs.
'No way! Did they really just pull this on us?!' Harry screamed internally as Draco Malfoy reluctantly walked over to the seat beside him when Ron and Blaise Zabini were seated behind them. Hermione sat next to Pansy Parkinson in the second row with a Ravenclaw and Hufflepuff behind them. Once everyone was seated, the two young professors explained their reasoning behind the seating arrangements. "We're tired of hearing all the insults and the stupid house rivalry. Either get your acts together or we teach you until you drop from martial arts." Ed stated sternly as he began to write on the board about what they would be talking about. When class ended everyone practically bolted for the door, Harry leaving them a note to speak to them later.
The rest of the day continued the same way: Each of the four houses were paired together-cough Gryffindor and Slytherin cough-and soon half the school began to hate or doubt the two professors. Chris and Ed returned to Chris' room so they could look over the students reactions from that day and were soon clutching their sides in pain from laughing and lack of air. Sending the video to a friend and hoping it would get through, Ed proceeded to send Harry a letter to visit them in his room tomorrow night with a small group with his questions before going to sleep.
