Ariel was desperately looking through her closet, she had reached the point where the only clothes that would fit her where sweatpants and slobby hoodies. She let herself fall on her bed backwards and sighed. Suddenly there was a knock on her door and Belle entered the room. ''Hurry up Ariel you're gonna miss breakfast.''

''Coming,'' Ariel sad and she quickly stood up only to sit back on her bed because she suddenly felt dizzy.

''What's wrong?'' Belle asked worried.

''Nothing just a little dizziness.''

''Then why do I get the feeling that here's something more going on?''

''I'm getting so big that my clothes don't fit anymore.''

''Well then you just have to buy new clothes.''

''Oh yeah I'll just go to the clothing store down the hallway.''

''That's not what I meant and you know it. Now let's go eat something.''

At their usual breakfast table Ariel put pickles in her yogurt. ''You've gotten some nasty eating habits lately,'' Jasmine said disgusted.

''That's just the pregnancy,'' Esmeralda said.

''Yeah but even Flynn wouldn't eat that.''

''Is that a dare?'' Flynn asked with a smile that he thought was charming.

''No.''

''But what do I get if I do it?''

''How about a hit in the head?''

''I think I'll pass.''

''Hey Tiana, could you make some of that gumbo again, it was so delicious.''

That evening Vanessa came towards Ariel, ''Belle told me about your little problem and I talked to miss Maleficent and it's okay, she gives you permission to go shopping for clothes and baby stuff tomorrow with some of your friends, under supervision of course.''

''Eh, thank you,'' Ariel said baffled.

So the next day Ariel together with Jasmine, Belle Tiana Esmeralda and Rapunzel was brought outside where two minivans where waiting for them. They would be joined on their trip by Honey Lemon, a guy named Dr. Facilier , Jane and her fiancée Dr. William Cecil Clayton. ''It would figure that she would only take girls with her,'' Dr. Clayton said when he saw the troop standing before him.

''Well Clayton girls shop better with other girls who can give their opinion,'' Honey responded. Ariel was glad to be outside again she missed it but most of all she missed the moonlight.

''Well let us get going, shall we? Miss Maleficent expects us back by five. Honey Lemon dear, will you take the other car with Dr. Facilier?'' Jane said.

''Of course, Tiana, Rapunzel and Esmeralda you'll have the car with me,'' Honey said. Everyone stepped into the cars. The windows of the vans were darkened so it was hard to look outside.

After a while they arrived at a shopping mall. ''It is easy to get lost here so we must stay together we don't want to lose anyone,'' Jane said once they were inside.

''I think that there's a big clothing store over there,'' Jasmine said.

''Thank you Jasmine we shall go there first.''

Inside the clothing store Jasmine immediately stared to gather clothes for Ariel. Soon Ariel had big pile of clothes in her hand which Jasmine had picked out for her. ''Thank you Jasmine but…'' Ariel started.

''You're picking out all the wrong clothes,'' Tiana butted in, ''she needs practical clothes, not those fancy clothes you're picking out for her.''

''Guys,'' Ariel said from behind the pile of clothes.

''What do you have against nice looking clothes,'' Jasmine said.

''Guys.''

''Those clothes are way too expensive and unpractical.''

''Do I get any say in this?'' Ariel said desperately.

''No,'' both jasmine and Tiana said.

''I think that we are missing Honey Lemon and Belle,'' Jane suddenly said.

''Belle is probably in the nearest bookstore,'' Ariel said.

''Well at least they are together then,'' Jane sighed.

''I think Ariel needs to pick out her own clothes, she should wear her own style not ours,'' Esmeralda said.

''Esmeralda is right, Ariel should choose for herself we can only give our opinions,'' Jane said. ''What about you all choose some clothes to buy for yourself.''

Jasmine and Tiana each headed off in another direction while Jane and Esmeralda advised Ariel on which kind of clothed were smart to buy and Rapunzel advised her which colors would suit her best.

Eventually Ariel went into a fitting room with several clothes to try on. ''Jane will you find Belle for me I would like her opinion about these clothes.''

''Of course I will be right back.'' Jane went to the nearest bookstore where she found Honey Lemon and Belle discussing which books to buy. ''Belle, Ariel would like to have your opinion about the clothes.''

''I'll be there in a minute.''

''Go ahead I'll pay those books for you,'' Honey said.

''I don't think that I have enough to pay for all those books.''

''Well then you'll just have to borrow some of mine. Now go along, your friend needs you.''

''Thank you,'' Belle said to Honey before she hurried after Jane.''

After Ariel had tried on several clothes she asked about the opinions of the others.

''I especially like the green skirt in combination with that purple tank top,'' Belle said.

''Those colors really suit you,'' Rapunzel brought in.

''And because of the way they are made you can probably wear then till the end of your pregnancy,'' Jane said.

''Alright, alright,'' Ariel laughed, ''I'll take the skirt and tank top.'' They picked out several other clothes together with some ballerina flats for when Ariel's belly had gotten so big that she couldn't see her feet anymore to tie her shoelaces.

Next they went to a baby store to pick out baby stuff. Suddenly Ariel started to cry after she saw a plush toy of Winnie the pooh.

''What's the matter sweetie?'' Jasmine asked worried.

''It's just that my boyfriend should be here to pick out furniture and clothes and stuffed toys.''

''Ariel listen to me,'' Belle said holding her friend's hand. ''He is always with you in here,'' and she put her hand on Ariel's heart. ''Just like my mother is always with me. You will see his face in that of the little girl that you are carrying.''

''Melody,'' Ariel said, ''her name is going to be Melody.''

''That's a beautiful name.''

''I just wish that I could give her something from him to remember her father by.''

''You can tell her stories about him.''

''I wish that I could have spent more time with him,'' Ariel said sadly.

''I know, I know, maybe we should head back.''

''You are right, it has been an exciting day for all of us,'' Jane said. They headed back to the vans with Dr. Facilier and Clayton carrying the bags.

Belle was closing the door to Ariel's room when Adam came towards her. ''This isn't your room.''

''No his is Ariel's room,'' she said patiently. ''She was kind of upset so I stayed with her until she fell asleep.''

''Did you had a nice shopping trip?'' he said feeling awkward.

''It was fine until Ariel started crying.''

''Did you buy a lot of stuff?''

''Ariel and Jasmine bought some things for me. Adam what do you want?''

''I just thought we could, you know, talk.''

''Alright but let's find someplace where we can talk properly.'' They went to the rec room and sat down together in a quiet corner.

''What do you want to talk about?''

''I don't know, I just thought we could get to know each other.''

''Alright I was born in France in a small town and after my mother died we moved here where I became best friends with Ariel. I have no siblings, I love to read and I always dreamed of having an adventure like the ones I read about in my books. What about you?''

''I lived a very sheltered life I never really had friends.''

''Who was that girl in the picture?''

''My sister,'' Adam said distant.

''So that's why you look so similar. Were you close?''

''Yes we were.''

''What happened?'' Belle asked sensing there was more.

''About a year ago we had a fight, it was about a stupid little thing really. She had gone into my room and played with my stuff. I got angry at her, I lost my temper and you've seen what happens then.''

''You change into a beast.''

''Yes, I didn't knew what happened to me, it was the first time I changed and suddenly she was just lying there on the ground. I killed her. Every time I get angry I change into a beast and I can't control it. That's why I came here, so I don't hurt anymore people. That's why I always keep to myself. My own parents can't look me in the eyes. I'm a monster who killed his own sister. I killed her, I'm dangerous,'' and he broke down crying.

''I'm sorry for you but it isn't your fault. And if it's a comfort for you, you're not the only with powers they can't control. Every time I read out loud from a book things appear from out of it sometimes even people . I got scared of my own powers.''

''I even got animal instincts, ever since that first change I've been craving meat, sometimes I steal some from the kitchen.'' They talked some more until it was time for bed.

sorry for the late update I thought I had already posted this chapter. I try to finish the next chapter as soon as possible. This chapter is a bit of a fun chapter but with Belle and Adam bonding. Next chapter will be a very serious chapter as it will probably be the last flashback. But the chapter afterwards will be fun again with some focus on Mulan since she was only mentioned in passing notice.
