I really don't have a good excuse for not updating in over a month considering the fact that I've had this in my email forever… School has been impossibly overbearing, if that counts for anything(: anyways…here's a new(ish) chapter and I'll try and get the other one I have up ASAP –Hannah

Erika

Erika ran up on the main deck just in time to see Evey get knocked overboard by a huge, spiky tentacle.

"What in Hades is going on?!" she exclaimed.

"Kraken attack!" yelled Jake. He was over at the controls punching buttons and wiggling the Wii remote. "How the heck does Leo do this?"

All around her, Erika's friends were drawing their weapons. The beast seemed used to having celestial bronze slice and stab into its tentacles, but it did cringe back a bit at Jessy's stygian silver sword. Only a little. Erika pulled off her cuff charm bracelet and it morphed into her bow and quiver. She notched an arrow, aimed, and shot a flaming arrow straight through a tentacle. She could hear the loud roar of the Kraken, but she couldn't locate the main part of its body. She shot a few more arrows and ran to the other side of the ship to help Julia, who was handling three tentacles all on her own. Erika shot one and it sunk back into the ocean. Julia stabbed the second one and it sunk too.

But not before getting a little slime on Julia.

"Ok, EW", said Julia. She swung her dagger. At the same time, Erika had shot an arrow at the other side of the tentacle. The thing came clean off and landed on the deck.

"Isn't it supposed to", she was cut off. The tentacle exploded in a huge cloud of gold monster dust. Erika shook her head to get at least some of the dust out of her hair.

"If we could just find its stupid head!" exclaimed Alyssa.

'Wait', Erika thought. 'That's it'.

"Jake!" she yelled. "Fire at the water, make him mad!"

"What are you crazy?" Jake shouted.

"Just do it!" said Jessy. At least someone seemed to see what Erika was trying to do.

Jake fired a few shots in the water. Erika hoped they'd hit and be enough to work. It wasn't until she heard it that Erika realized she was standing right against the rail. Erika felt the bumpy, slimy skin of the Kraken rub against her back. She jumped and spun around, just as the creature's giant, yellow eyes rose up past her. The Kraken opened its gaping maw, and Erika saw what must have been a thousand rows of razor sharp teeth.

"Erika now!" Jessy screamed.

Erika notched at least six arrows at once and shot them straight down the Kraken's throat. The creature released the ship and backed away a bit. It hacked and sputtered as Erika's special Greek fire arrows exploded in its gut.

"Everyone down!" she yelled, they all dropped to the deck as the monster exploded in a mushroom cloud of golden dust. Erika coughed as the monster dust slowly dissipated into the air.

She looked around the ship to see if everyone was alright. Jake had his arms around Hannah (probably to protect her from the explosion), and Hannah was blushing. Alyssa and Julia were sitting up brushing themselves off, and Jessy was still right next to Erika.

"Everyone ok?" asked Hannah. Everyone nodded as they stood up. It seemed to dawn on Jake that he still had his arm around Hannah because he quickly moved it and walked over to the controls.

Erika didn't know if it was because of Jake's awkwardness or because of sheer relief they were alive, but the girls all started to laugh a little. And it felt good.

"So", Erika turned to Jessy. "Did you get Slayer to Evey in time?"

"Yeah", said Jessy. "But I have no clue where they are now".
