"Six?" She calls as Nine shoots up from where he was sleeping and grunts.

"I heard it too." I rush over to where Marina stands and grab her cold hand. We go invisible. "Nine, grab my hand."

"Mogs." He hisses enveloping my fingers with his hand.

"That wasn't a Mog." Marina says intuitively. Any traces of her emotions less than a minute ago have been washed away.

"A Piken." I say. "It sounded like a Piken."

It roars again, this time sounding more near.

"Maybe if we stay invisible it will go away." I mutter.

"Hell no." Nine shoots back. "I'm not missing out on any more fights."

I squeeze his hand with as much force as I can muster. "We fought because we had too. Your big mouth got you thrown out of the game. This time, we wait."

I don't know if Nine is going to comply with my orders, but I take his silence as agreement.

"The fire!" I can feel Marina twisting to look at it still brightly popping out against the dark. I don't know who does it, but the embers are lifted out of the pit and thrown into the lake where they are extinguished with a hiss as they fall down into the black water.

I hear massive foot falls that cause the trees to collapse and snap. Marina squeezes my hand, but I know that she can handle whatever comes her way.

What happens to come not just her way, but all of ours is a six legged monster that was at least two stories tall. Its scaly skin glinted in the small moonlight the night had left. Its face was hideous and one thing was evident. He didn't see with his eyes, or lack thereof, he was led by his nose and ten foot long whiskers. It reminded me of a mole.

"Looks like your're gonna fight anyways, Nine." I say grimly. "Invisibility won't help us here."

"I'm ready." Nine says releasing my hand to crack his own.

"Wait." I say and quickly collect his hand. He disappears once again.

"Whaaat?" He whines.

I have to bite back my annoyance. "There might be Mogs around."

I hear the seemingly empty air around me sigh in mock annoyance.

The beast had stopped for a moment and sniffs the air. I still see no signs of a Mog anywhere. We stand together and in silence watching it zigzag until finally it catches our scent. The Beast lets out another feral roar that makes me cringe and he is on a dead run towards us. I have no choice but to let go of Marina and Nine's hands. A tree is uprooted and shot like a missile right into the face of the beast. The Branches leave several scrapes into its sides, but none of them affect it more than to piss it off. With his massive tail he hits the ground causing me to lose my balance and fall into the fire pit. Thank goodness the fire is out. Angrily I jump out and begin forming a massive storm overhead. On its head alone rain hammers down and I try to pinpoint the beast's body with lightning. Most of the bolts miss and singe the ground. Nine continues to try and blunder it with trees and Marina uses her freaking bada** legacy to turn my rain into sharp ice daggers and then with her telekinesis she slams them down, piercing its flesh. The beast launches towards Nine, who sends a tree right between its eyes and runs out of the way. The beast plows into the trees causing the once resting birds to dart back in forth from the commotion.

When Marina begins to freeze the water on its back I get an idea. "Marina, Nine. Help me get it to the lake! We can freeze him in it and trap him there!"

They jump into action immediately, running behind the beast and attacking from there, it nearly worked until I was sent flying into the tops of a tree. My head smacks into the tree trunk and in a daze I started falling, catching every branch on the way down. I see a flash of lights as a vehicle comes barreling down the road. Mogs.

I hear Marina scream my name and a Telekinetic pull to carefully set me down. Dizzily I stand up and stumble towards the others. "MOGS!" I cry.

[John]

We are so close to the others that I can barely see a gap between the dot that means me and the other three. Everyone is asleep or at least really quiet. As we near the others I become incredibly anxious and accelerate my speed whenever I can. At the moment we are in proximity of the Kissimmee State Park. The trees begin to thicken and I have to find a new route so I can get in closer. There are several lakes and usually every road only ever leads to a boat ramp. I am in reverse for the seventh time now when I hear something echoing in the air.

"What's wrong?" Malcolm asks.

I turn the key off for a moment. "I thought I heard something."

Sarah is sitting back into the seat, but looking out the window into the dark shadows of the trees, stiff with alertness.

"Do you think it was the Mogs?" Sam asks.

"I don't know, maybe it was nothing." I reach to turn the key back on when I hear it again. Whatever it is, I know it's HUGE.

Sarah gasps, and the rest of us look around trying to find it. I turn the key and swerve around. I have got to find the others. Things are about to come to a head.

I drive around the camp grounds and notice there aren't any other campers around. Thank goodness though.

"Look over there!" Adam shouts. We all bend our heads to see where he is pointing. A thunder storm is forming over the tops of the trees in one particular spot.

"Six!" Sam laughs. "She's still alive."

I smile happily until I remember that one of the others is still dead. This whole time I knew I could peak at my ankle and know right away who it was that died and I kept that away from the others because I was too weak to check. I literally can't put it off anymore so I grit my teeth and drive towards the storm. As we get closer I see a tree fly across the sky and I get a rush of giddiness. Then the storm stops abruptly and the trees stop flying. A deafening roar reaches my ear and I watch in horror as a figure goes flying into a tree. I accelerate and we all bounce at every hole I hit. I honk the horn twice and pull to a stop.

"Stay here!" I shout and jump out of the van.

"Johnny! You made it."

The first few seconds all I did was glance around to take inventory of those standing. Nine and Six. That means it was either Seven or Eight. My stomach feels full of lead right now.

"Help get it into the Lake!" Six shouts at me. I stop looking for the last Garde and use my telekinesis to shove the ugly beast towards the lake. Nine forcefully sends a tree into its side, successfully causing it to tip. Breathing heavily, Six is at my side shoving it the same way, together we walk closer to the beast and push on.

"Good to see you!" She yells at me.

"Who was it?" I think my voice cracks a bit.

She looks at me and then the beast once again, before she can tell me the beast gives a pissed off roar as he falls backwards into the lake, causing a thirty foot splash.

"Now!" Six yells.

I watch as a figure runs out to the water and extends both arms outwards. I instantly feel a creeping chill expand through the air and I observe the water quickly stop moving and in a matter of seconds the entire lake for about one hundred feet is frozen solid. The figure is slender and her hair whips around in the wind.

Six puts her hand on my shoulder and her eyes glisten. "It was Eight."

I have a hard time swallowing. "How?" I ask.

"Five. He's a lunatic and a traitor, John!"

Six bites her cheek and looks back at the beast as Nine stabs a cracked tree limb into its heart. Its scream booms like thunder, echoing far past the tree tops. I look at Marina who stands facing is as it slowly dissenigrates and mixes with the melting ice-water below. Marina watches it for a moment, I can see her heavy breathing racking her small frame. Her hands remain clawed at her sides, ready to slice at a any new enemy. Marina has a new legacy. I feel like I can guess how it came about. I reach out for Six who comes in for a comfort hug.

Nine whoops and quickly walks over to us. "You're awake!" He half cheers. "A lot of s*** went down while you were out."

"Yeah." I say slapping him on the shoulder. "I can say the same for you... Nine, they destroyed-."

"Where's Ella?" Marina calls urgently.

The words get stuck in my throat, her eyes search me for the bad news and I can tell she thinks the worse.

"What happened?" Six and Marina ask at the same time.

"The Mogadorians kidnapped her."

Marina has to grasp onto the tree next to her. I reach out for her but she just stares at my hand like it was a gesture she couldn't understand. "I tried to save her, Marina. I tried, but there wasn't enough time."

Marina looks down and then back up at me. "How could you let them take her?"

Her words are like a slap to the face. "I didn't just let them, Malcolm was dying and I had to make a decision. Heal him or chase them and maybe I'd be able to save Ella or maybe not but Malcolm would have died."

Marina clenched her teeth but I think she softened up a bit. "I know you didn't just let them, I'm sorry...it's just..."

"I understand Marina."

"She is only twelve." Marina chokes wrapping herself in her own arms.

"What are they going to do with her." Six asks solidly. "Turn her into another Five?"

"Remember when I touched Ella while she was glowing?"

"Yeah." Nine says. "You didn't wake up."

"Well I had a vision."

Piece by piece I relay the vision I had and what I saw Ella doing. I could tell by the looks on their faces that this was big. Six touches her hand to her neck.

"I got my head chopped off?"

"I was about to get mine chopped off." I hear Sam murmur behind me, they must of left the car.

Marina stands up straight. "Five told me basically the same thing, that the bastards want her for something...but as an heir?

Nine laughs snidely. "That son of a b**** is just asking for it and I'm gonna give it to him. What do we got to do to find her. Does she show up on the tablet?"

"Yes, so we have tabs on her just like any of the rest of us."

He perked up at this. "So that means that we know where Five is at all times?"

"That's good to know." Six says darkly.

Nine laughs.

"But that doesn't tell us where Setrakus Ra is." Marina points out. "And it doesn't tell us where Eight's body is."

"It's a start." Six says in a definite voice.

I feel a shock at Marina's words, I hadn't even thought about where Eights body was. "Who has Eight's body." I ask shakily. "What happened to it?"

Marina shifts on her feet and glares into my eyes. When I breathe out so does a puff of breath indicating the drop in temperature.

"They have him. Marina hisses, pointing into the dark. "They have his body and I am not letting them keep it."

"Your legacy." Six warns, but Marina keeps talking and the air gets colder. "I'm not letting them keep Ella either, I'm not defenseless anymore."

I start shivering and does Sarah who stumbles beside me. Instinctively I wrap my arm around her.

"No you're not." Nine chatters. "Now you can freeze the Mogs to death, but just remember we aren't Mogs so if you could raise the temperature again that'd be really great."

Marina swallows and the temperature begins to rise.

Six grabs Marina's hands and raises them a bit. "None of us are going to let them keep anything or anyone. We are still not ready." Six looks Marina in the eyes but I know she is addressing all of us. "In our hearts we are ready, but physically we have a lot to do. So...let's get out of here already."

I am still holding on to Sarah but I am watching Marina too.

Marina nods her head slowly and her facial features relax. "Yeah, let's get out of here."

The rest of the group takes this as a cue and fills in around us. Sam and Six hug for a solid thirty seconds before Six breaks free and says. "We really need to catch up now."

"Yeah. We do." Nine says in a caustic tone. He stands rigid, just now noticing the new addition to our group. "What's the Mog doing here?"
