Lemon-Moon
Sorry for the long wait guys, I've been really tired from finals and a new job that I got. I know this isn't one of my best chapters but it should get the story going again. Thanks for holding on and of course for last chapter's reviews. Until next chapter!
(Ella)
For a while I just stare at the opposite side of the room I'm in. The room itself is actually quite cozy, which gives me hope that I am not actually with the Mogadorians. The walls are a cream color and the floor is shiny white tile and there is a large rug spread out that's blue with designs in white. The small bed where I had woke up in and the furniture around it looked normal, like the dresser with a mirror and the bookshelf.
I wonder if by chance my friends are actually with me and if I were to call out to them with my legacy they will hear me.
Marina are you there?
Nine where'd you go?
Eight I think I need help.
Six…John?
After several tries I even reached out for Five, just because I was getting really desperate.
I don't wait for long after that. I begin to wonder if maybe it was all a trick, maybe the penthouse didn't burn down, or maybe it did but either way we just all moved locations. I want to go out and look but I am really afraid. I fall back into the bed and crawl into a ball. I need to be brave like Nine, but-.
Just then the door creeks open and I freeze. My ears perk up to pick on any sound but I hear no footsteps at all. I wait for something to happen. Eerily I do begin to hear something. Like a person was moving towards me, but still no footfalls kinda like they were flying.
"Ella." A voice calls right behind me and I shiver. "I uh…I heard you calling for me."
Five's voice sounds shaky, like he isn't sure if he should even be in here. I sit up and to look at him and I nearly fall off the bed. Five's appearance looks terrible. A piece of cloth covers his left eye and tape keeps it in place. His wrist is covered in a cast and his leg is swallowed by a large black foot brace. Other than that he's covered in welts and small bruises and scrapes. If this is what he looks like what about the others.
"Five! W-what happened?" I gasp.
Five looked pitiful before, but now he looks full of despair. "I'm fine." He says glumly.
"What about the others? Where's Marina?"
His expression turns blank and the next second he is back. "They're fine, I promise."
"But where are they?"
"I don't know." He admits.
"Did the penthouse really get destroyed then?"
"Yeah…It's gone."
So what Setrakus Ra showed me was real then. That's one thing then.
"But how did it happen?"
I feel like things are moving slower than they should be. Five just hovers there a couple feet away from me looking like a lame deer caught in the headlights. I remember back to all the times I listened to Nine laugh about Five, and how everyone was annoyed that he barely said anything. I am reminded of all that and I start to get angry.
"Five, tell me!"
He blinks and looks me in the eye. "Ella, I know you know that it was Setrakus Ra who gave orders to bring you to him."
"H-how did you know that?"
"The Great Leader told me so, and if you're wondering how he found out about the Loric's whereabouts well…it was me who told them."
The Great Leader…he turned us in…Five? It all boils down to one truth, one terrible truth.
"You betrayed us?"
Five looks prepared for my words. "No, that would mean I was fighting for Lorien in the first place."
"You were when you first landed here, after the trip and after the Elders placed the charm on you."
Five smirks, and it looks weird with the eye patch in place. "I was a baby, that does not count for anything. You see it's just so typical for you and the others to turn to that but you don't look any farther. I had no say in my 'destiny' that nine freaks apparently gave to me. I am not a traitor!" Five's eyes- or eye- burns with hatred and when he sees my fear he calms down a bit.
"Sorry-it's just…I get to choose my own destiny now and I choose to follow The Great Leader, Setrakus Ra."
I can't speak, it's like my voice is caught in my throat. I never expected that one of us would fight against the others.
Five keeps talking. "You get to choose too Ella, except it's already in your destiny to become the most powerful Mogadorian leader, even more than the Great Leader."
Slowly I start to shake my head. "No, there is no way I would help the mogadorians. I will be one of the greatest Loric Warriors. I am going to help the others and we're going to save Lorien. Please come back to us Five, we can still win."
Five looks at me and snorts. "You have no idea what you are fighting for-."
"For Lorien—"
"Lorien is gone, it's a smoking globe of nothing now. But Earth and Mogadore, now those two are still perfectly intact."
"But the point of our lives being spared was to revive Lorien, to save our race." I want him to have this mission in his heart like it's in mine, we just can't lose another Loric.
His expression softens a bit again, but at the same time it appears unmovable. Like a titanium wall. "Ella, our race is gone. It had to be wiped out-."
I feel a burst of anger in my gut. "How can you say that, your parents were-."
"Killed in the battle-blah blah yeah I know. That doesn't change anything, they were supposed to die just like yours and everyone else's. I'm sure once Setrakus Ra knows he can trust you he'll tell you why."
"Then I guess I'm never going to know." I glare at Five with what I hope he will understand is hatred. I didn't particularly like Five when I first met him, but since he was supposed to be one of us I instantly felt okay about him. Now, it's like he was a stupid mogadorian.
Five shakes his head and looks at me with disappointment. "You're gonna be here for a while then." Five moves towards the door and opens it with his telekinesis. "I hope that you'll change your mind, The Great Leader really does have a good mind." He looks away from me and the door closes swiftly. I hurry over to it and try to twist the knob. It's locked. I run over to the window and knock on it with my knuckles. It feels like glass but when I pick up a stone book end and slam it against the glass nothing happens, not even a scratch. I hammer the object again and again but it's hopeless. I don't know where my friends are and I'm trapped with the enemy.
