Five and I go inside and the Mog- Setrakus Ra stands infront of a table set for three. He pulls out the chair.
"Come child, and have a seat."

Stiffly I cross the room and sit down at the spot Setrakus Ra chose for me. Five waits for Setrakus Ra to sit down and then sits himself. The table is set infront of a set of open doors letting us look into the backyard where a fountain is spouting crystal blue water. The place itself is even nicer than Nine's penthouse.

"Did you have a nice week?" Setrakus Ra asks politely.

I tilt my head and look at him. "You mean locked in that room with nothing but a bed?"

"You needed a place to stay where you could think, it wasn't the worse place you could have been put. Trust me." He laughs and Five grins.

Before I can say something back a mogadorian guy pushes open the door with a cart. He stops at the table and sets down a plate infront of us each. My plate had sausage and eggs and some fruit salad. Then he pours orange juice into a tall crystal glass. Just as quickly as he came, he was gone again.

The food looks really good, and Five has already dug in. I look at Setrakus Ra, it was easy to feel disgust for him when he was ugly and smelly but now he looks nice and normal-except for being so tall- I can't help but feel a little more at ease. Just a little bit. He sees me watching him as he lifts a fork full of eggs to his mouth. I had noticed earlier that his eyes were brown, like chocolate and instead of burning right through me they look at me with a sort of lightness. He uses his fork to beckon me to eat. Slowly I lift up my fork and I take a bite. It tastes alright.

Setrakus Ra takes a long sip of his orange juice and then clears his throat. "Now then, I suppose my appearance is alarming to you dear one…but it should be known that this is my true form—that is—it was the one I was born with and lived inside of for many centuries."

"What about your other…form?" I ask.

He takes a deep breath. "The other form is a punishment."

"Why are you telling me this?" I ask. "Don't you know I am not on your side."

Five swallows noisly as his face pales but he doesn't interject. Setrakus Ra smiles crookedly and it looks almost pleasant.

"Obviously, dear one I cannot force you to do my will. I could threaten the lives of you friends, but quite frankly their fates are already decided."

I knew what he meant, that he'd never stop hunting my friends. I felt a flare of anger and I was about to say something, but that's when the voice came back.

Hey hey, keep your cool alright? Just hear him out. Study your enemy, remember?

"Yeah, yeah." I gripe.

Thinking that I am talking to him, Setrakus Ra laughs."They are not important, what's important is you…and him too." Setrakus Ra talks to Five and me.

"What will be my destiny?" Five asks.

"To help a new universal empire rise out of the ashes of Earth my boy. You will play a decent part in that."

Five smiles happily to himself.

"Why does it have to be Earth?" I ask. "Why not Mogadore? Or even Lorien?"

"Because, in a single universe—there can only be one planet in existence at a time for there to be peace. Time has proven this for all living beings. Mogadore is no longer inhabitable and Lorien is no more. Earth is all that remains and the humans here—even with the help of Loric and mogadorian pioneers alike—has yet to develop. With our help they will be at their evolutionary peak within a decade."

"But what about their lives?" I demand. "Each have their own way of living and government and-freedom."

Setrakus Ra nods like I just answered my own question. "And look at how separated everyone is! They all share the same planet and they are even more distant than Mogadore was from Lorien. One planet should not need more than one system of government, more than one ruler."

I want to argue with him, but it seems kinda nice to me…helping Earth develop to something like Lorien. Crayton was always showing pity for humans and their pointless wars and avoidable plauges and famines and poverty. Maybe helping them wouldn't be so bad.

"Well alright." I say slowly. "But we can still do this without killing my friends…let's try and reason with them."

Setrakus Ra looks at me with a hard expression. "Impossible- Nine children blessed by the Loric elders sent across the stars to be raised to fight and hate the Mogadorian race. For twelve years now me and my army has hunted them and eliminated each of their Cepans—practically all they had in the world along with several of the Loric children themselves. You honestly think they can be reasoned with? To be convinced to abandon their sole purpose-to refuse their task of reviving a planet that is no more? Impossible. They will fight to their last breath whether we give them the chance or not. I give them my deepest most humblest respect for that, but it is all futile."

"Atleast give them the chance." I plea.

Setrakus Ra is silent for a moment. I glance at Five who is looking down at his plate. Only a small pile of yellow eggs are left and instead of finishing them off, Five runs his fork through them. Finally Setrakus Ra replies. "I promise to you, dearest, that soon they will have the chance. We will see how that goes."

I take a deep breath and let it out through my nose slowly.

"In the mean time I want you to start training both physically and mentally. You have several legacies left to develop and I'd like them all crisp. Same goes for you Five. I'm sure there is more to you than flying and morphis."

"Training?" I say aloud.

"Exactly." Setrakus Ra nods.

This is going to be good Ella! The voice chides. They may suck, but Mogadorians really know how to train people.

You're telling me I should stay? I ask. Although I don't feel anything too wrong with what Setrakus Ra is saying, I know my place is with the other Lorics.

Think about it are on the inside where none of the others get to be. Just go with it all until it's time to go alright. You've got this!

"Okay." I say out loud. "I'll train-like you say."

"Awesome!" Five pats me on the back and I force a smile.

Setrakus Ra smiles at me. "You have much to learn, perhaps next time I will tell you about your history."

"My history?" I ask, wanting him to tell me more.

"Of course." Setrakus Ra downs the rest of his Juice and rises from the table. His body is so long that it appears to take a while for him to stop rising. "There is good reason as to why I want you to be my heir. Five, once the two of you have finished breakfast why don't you show Ella around."

"Yes sir." Five nods.

"Where are you going?" I ask.

"I have business to attend to, until next time children." A mog opens the door for Setrakus Ra as he exits, and the door closes with a bang.

"Are you excited?" Five asks excitedly as he floats down the street beside me. We had spent perhaps an hour and a half walking around the Mogadorians's gated community.

"Not really." I shake my head. "We need to get a hold of the others…"

"Why?" Five sniffs.

"Because…" And I wasn't really sure, except for one reason. "I don't know what happened to them exactly. Are they even safe?"

"They…have Marina." Five says slowly. "I'm sure everyone is fine—besides I'd know if something happened to them."

For a moment I wonderd if perhaps he had a legacy of—I don't know—gut feelings? But then I remembered that he'd know if someone had died because of the loric charm. I look down at his leg but it is still covered by that leg brace. I decide to wait a little longer before asking about his scars. Besides, if something tragic had happened I'm sure he would tell me.

"Yeah, okay." I murmur instead.

"I can't wait to find out what other legacies we'll develop." Five chides.

"Yeah…" I agree. "All I have is my aternus and telepathy."

"Uh…have you contacted anyone at all yet?"

I almost tell him about my conection with one of the others but I get the feeling that I should keep that to myself for a while. "Nope. Not yet atleast." I try to say convincingly. "UH…Maybe with somemore practice right?"

"Oh yeah, yeah." He agrees, staring pointedly ahead of him. Five begins to act weird, his breaths are quicker and he wipes his hands on his shorts trying to get rid of some sweat that had appeared. It looks like he is shaking.

"Five—are you alright?" I ask trying to catch his eye.

"I—no—I'm fine…I just remembered I forgot to do something. Uh, just go inside that house right there." He points to the same house I had left this morning. "I hate to play this card but—there are mogs watching your every move alright? I don't want you to get punished for doing something stupid."

"Alright." I mutter, not so happy that I'm being watched.

"Uh-bye." Five rubs his arm nervously and flies straight into the air some fifty feet and eventually disappears out of my live of sight. Seeing him nervous like that makes me nervous.

I stand on the curb for a while. All the kids are inside, making the neighborhood depressingly quiet. Eventually I make my way back to the house alone, occasionally glancing around for the cameras that I can't see.
