I'm really, really sorry I haven't updated in so long! Sorry! Stupid writers block! I'll try to update more often, since I think my writers block is loosening a little bit. Anyways sorry little back story there, thank you everyone who's still reading. I know, I should give you a cookie! Hope you like this!
Zelda's P.O.V
I remember when I traveled to Kakariko Village with Impa. Turns out Impa actually opened the formerly Sheikah-exclusive Village to the poor and for people to escape from the Bastard Ganondork (I refuse to call him 'King' or pronounce his name correctly).
I wonder how everyones doing back at home? I know that Midna and Dark will probably remember, but since he reversed the time into a Monarchy so he can have all the power, will Midna have to return to her place? And what about my cousins? Or everyone else?
Ow, my head is hurting from over thinking. I looked at my surroundings, Nothing but trees and judging by the position of the sun, it looks like we're going to have to camp out. The moon was just starting to peek out.
"Hey, uh Link?" he turned towards me, with one eyebrow up. "It looks like we're going to have to camp out tonight" he nodded his head, which I took as a sign to go, so I lead Epona and him over to a spot I saw that we could camp out on.
I skillfully hopped off Rosemarie, petting her and located a small spring, so I took both Rosemarie and Epona over so they could get a drink.
"You guys did awesome today" I whispered as we left Link, who looked like he was starting a fire -quite unsuccessfully if you asked me, looks like he doesn't have much outdoor experience, figured- and headed towards the spring.
They both neighed happily and a little tiredly, poor horses. "Don't worry, you guys deserve a nice drink." I thought for a moment, "How about I give you a nice wash too? Would you like that?" I asked.
We arrived to the spring shortly, and I let them get a drink while I looked around for something I could use as soap. I'm glad that Diana taught me about the environments now and Tetra too, who taught me a bit about flowers.
After searching for little while, I finally found a fern that was suitable to use as soap, I remembered that it was called Bracken fern and it has many uses as well. "Huh, guess that lesson actually paid off" I chuckled and headed back to the spring with a handful of ferns.
As I began washing Rosemarie, I remember Arietta telling me singing helps to past the time when doing anything. Absentmindedly, I started singing one of her favorite songs quietly (This is really one of my best friends favorite songs)
I was riding shotgun
With our hair undone
In the front seat of his car
He's got one-hand feel
On the steering wheel
The other on my heart
I look around, turn the radio down
He says, "Baby is something wrong?"
I say, "Nothing,
I was just thinking
How we don't have a song"
And he says..
"What are you doing?" asked a masculine voice, startling me and Rosemarie, who dragged me into the spring. I came up spluttering and glaring at Link, who started laughing.
"Oops, sorry" he laughed, sounding and looking the opposite. Suddenly I got an idea, smiling devilishly, I whispered into Epona's ear "Hey, Epona do me a favor and ride over to Link and get him onto your back, before throwing him into the water"
Epona nodded, and I watched as she galloped over to Link - who was still laughing his ass off, to my annoyance- ducked her head to get him onto her back before bucking him into the spring - that I just vacated- in a blink of an eye.
Link surfaced, confusion swirling in his eyes, sputtering while we- the horses and I- laughed. "How? What? Why am I in here?" I explained the whole tale while trying not to laugh - which I failed at- "Traitor" he muttered.
"Hey, us gals have to stick together" I winked at him while petting Epona and Rosemarie affectionately. All I got as a response was incoherent muttering, though I did pick up something about 'evil, persuasion, got my horse on her side...'
"Oh, don't be such a big baby" I offered my hand to help him out. He looked at it before slowly reaching out... And pulling me in
"I should have seen that one coming" I muttered surfacing and splashing him in the face. Quickly before he could splash me back, I teleported out.
"Hey! That's not fair" he pouted, aw cute. Wait what? Did I just say that!?
"Totally fair" I stuck my tongue out at him, in the same childlike manner. I used a simple dry spell to dry my clothes off, "Anyways, we should probably get going" I used the same spell to dry Link off once he came out and lead the horses back.
Once we got back I saw that Link must have given up on the fire, since there wasn't one, I turned to Link with an eyebrow up. It took him a minute to finally register what I meant - seriously, he's got to be the most clueless guy ever-
He just shrugged and smiled sheepishly. Rolling my eyes I gathered a couple of sticks and lit it on fire with 'Din's Fire'
"I'll be back, try to stay alive while I'm gone" I said as I started walking away.
"Where are you going? If you hadn't noticed already there are no malls for you to shop at"
"No dip Sherlock, I'm going to hunt"
"You? Hunt? With what? Your hands?" he scoffed
"You sir, are really stupid." he was about to retort when I conjured up my bow.
"If you have magic, than why don't you just make us food?"
Amateur I thought, "Because, there is so much that you can do with magic, and food, money and other desires like that aren't one of them, also it's not good for a persons magic core"
"Magic core?"
"Yeah, the center of the persons magic, how much they have and it's a part of you. If you use too much then you feel weak, use it all and your gone" I rolled my eyes and turned to walk away.
"Your going to get yourself killed!"
"Coming from the guy that I saved from a skeleton"
"Hey! I can do the hunting, I saved you from those pig things"
"Those are Moblin's and if anything you'd get yourself in trouble, your not trained to fight"
"Whatever, and I can too fight!"
"OK, fine! Do whatever you want! See if I care, but don't say I didn't warn you!" by now I couldn't hear him so I couldn't hear his stupid come back, Good I was getting irritated by him anyway.
I walked a little farther away trying to find a deer, or something like that. Crack, the sound of a twig snapped to the left of me, about five feet away. I stopped to listen, I could faintly hear about ten footsteps, and horses?
I turned into Sheik and teleported into a tree. Looking around I quickly spotted a group of Moblins, "Shit, it looks like there up to no good" I said under my breath. "And oh, looks like some of them got upgraded to little horses, how cute"
I looked around to see if there were anymore, when I spotted Keese above the trees, they look like they're circling around something. This looks fishy. Why do I have a bad feeling about this!?
I looked down to see that they've moved somewhere else, "Damn! Where'd they go!?" I searched frantically, before deciding on a different tactic, calming down I jumped down from the tree, careful not to get spotted.
I examined my surroundings, trying to spot any clues as to where they went. "Man, it's like they teleported somewhere else, but where?" I glanced at the sky, and saw the Keese still hovering around, and than diving at something.
Since that was my only clue, I jumped from tree to tree, as stealthily and quickly as I could. Finally arriving, I saw that the Moblins and horses were there but, they were fighting something, or someone!
Link! Where did he wonder off to? I hope he's not in trouble. Suddenly the fighting stopped and the Moblins were all cheering? I quickly took my bow out and shot the Keese down.
Turning I shot a couple Moblins surrounding whatever they were surrounding, before the rest of them panicked and ran away. What a bunch of chickens, I sighed before remembering that they were surrounding something.
In an instant I was by there side. I gasped, I was Link and it looked like he was struck by the side. Looks like he put up a good fight though, I observed the damage and gingerly removed the knife.
I glanced at the knife and noticed that there was a slight tint of dark purple mixed in with the crimson colored blood; poison.
"Oh Link, your in deep shit now" I muttered. I checked for a pulse and sighed in relief, there was one, a faint one, but at least he's still alive. I teleported us back to the camp and set off to work.
I healed him, or at least the cut, and the blood disappeared. But he's still poisoned, I placed a blanket over him, while I left to get some water, and start on an antidote. For the next few days I took care of Link, watching him get better by the day.
And that was not an easy job, the first day he had a fever which he started sweating like crazy, than he was freezing, next he was hallucinating and lastly he's been knocked out - as in sleeping like crazy- and he has not changed since three days ago.
I have to make sure he drinks water, and he eats properly before I give him a potion. Hopefully he'll be better soon, I thought as I walked back, I heard a groan. I swiftly went towards the voice and saw Link was trying to sit up.
I quickly, as well as gently but firmly pushed him back down, "No Link, you still need to rest"
"Zel.. da?" he asked groggily, rubbing his eyes. Cute, "What.. happened? Where are we?" he looked around.
"At the camp and I found you surrounded by Moblins" I looked at him expectantly, eyebrow up and my arms crossed infront of my chest, "Didn't I warn you that you weren't exactly fighting material, well without proper training at least" I sighed exasperated, looks like the toll from taking care of him finally came.
"Sorry, but I wasn't going to let you think that I was useless, plus I don't like sitting and waiting" he looked down a little dejectedly - aw, now I feel like I kicked a puppy, darn him for being so cute!- sighing, I pulled him into a small embrace, which I think surprised him but he timidly returned it.
"Your not useless, and I don't think you are either, I'm just glad your Ok" I whispered, I let him go after giving him a reassuring squeeze.
"How long have I been out anyway?"
"Oh, about a week" I said casually as if he just asked when my birthday is.
"What! A week!?" the look on his face was priceless, big cerulean eyes and mouth agape. "Whats so funny?" he asked as I laughed.
"Sorry, it's just you look like you've just seen the first fire as a cavemen. Anyway you should probably rest"
"I think I've rested enough, I mean seriously a week is more than enough" he tried to get up, but soon went back down with a painful grunt, I winced slightly.
"Link, I think you should take it easy for a little longer, I don't think the poison is gone yet"
"Fine. Wait poison?"
"Yeah, you were stabbed with a knife that had poison in it, I did my best to cure you, now we have to wait"
"But I don't like waiting!" he whined
"If your going to be such a baby about this, I could always put a sleep spell on you" I threatened, I smiled when he was silent, glaring but silent. "Ok, now be a good boy while I go hunting a little"
I started to leave when Link grabbed my arm, stopping me from moving. I turned to him, silently questioning him.
"Zelda, don't. I don't want you getting hurt"
"Dont worry Link, I'll be fine" I felt a little touched that he cared, though I don't like him doubting my skills, this is a start.
"Zelda, be careful" he said as I started to leave again, I turned and saw that his eyes were shining with worry.
"Yeah, Ok. Now be a good boy and try not to get poisoned while I'm gone" I teased, when he scowled I kissed him on the forehead and with a little wave I was gone. I could tell that shocked him, because when I turned back he was growing red and he fell back down onto the makeshift bed, muttering to himself.
I returned with a deer, (I'm so sorry, poor deer) and more fruits and vegetables to find Link asleep again. Setting down everything I traveled to the springs to get more water, just in case he's burning up again.
He was awake when I arrived and also up and moving around, "So I'm guessing your feeling much better?" I asked, I think I startled him, because he fell on his butt.
"Yeah, but did you have to scare me?" he rubbed his butt slightly before he stood up and brushed himself off.
"Oops..?" I shrugged, heading over to make lunch, "Maybe you'd like to take a bath? You haven't showered in a week after all" I suggested, starting to skin the poor animal.
"Are you saying I smell?"
"Find out for yourself" I waved distractedly, focusing on the dead animal. I heard him grumbling before he walked away, probably to the springs.
By the time he came back I was already done, and I was tending to the horses. "Oh, foods over there, help yourself" I didn't have to finish because he was already helping himself.
Boys, I thought rolling my eyes, as if Epona and Rosemarie understood me, they both snorted. I giggled, "Does that mean you have a special someone too?" I whispered to them, careful so Link wouldn't hear us, though I doubt he would, he's too busy shoving food into his mouth.
In response they both neighed, as if to say, 'Who needs boys? Link is a handful' I laughed, I guess all that time horseback riding with Tetra helped me connect with horses.
"Are you sure you made this?" Links voice broke me out of my thoughts.
"Yeah, why?" I returned to brushing their manes
"Because it's actually taste good! And I don't think you could make something editable, much less something this good! You probably have servants for that" I dropped the brush, and growled, typical, leave it to Link to mess it up and just when we were starting to be friends too. Rosemarie must have sensed my frustration, because she started comforting me.
I sighed, "Come on girl, I need air" I gave Epona a good-bye pat, glared at Link and left with Rosemarie. The nerve of that guy, and I just saved him too! "I don't think you could make something editable, much less something this good!" What an ass!
I hopped off Rosemarie and we took a stroll around, until we came to a hidden waterfall. It was beautiful, with the moons light illuminating the cascading over smooth, glistening rocks into a pond at the bottom.
Surrounding the pond were beautiful flowers, all different types and different colors. Although it was a little odd to see all those colors, I think it brought out a different kind of beauty, which made it even more wonderful to look at.
I sat down, taking the view in, "Wow" I breathed, I felt all the anger wash out of me. I took a deep breath in, and closed my eyes. Now would be a good time to check in on Midna and Dark.
Zelda is italicizes and Midna's is normal
Midna? Are you there?
Zelda? Is that you!?
Yeah, what's up? Is everything alright?
No, that bastard Ganondork has basically enslaved everyone in fear! It's absolutely horrible over here!
What! Don't worry Mid, I'll stop him! How's Impa, and my cousins?
I.. I don't know, they kind of left, like everyone we know they.. changed, like they have a different life now, but that's the life they think they have.
At least they're OK, I'll figure something out..
And, I'm back at the Twilight Realm..
Wait, your what!?
Yeah, my thoughts exactly! One moment I'm in Castle town, helping, next thing I know I'm back home, next to my father!
Where's Dark? Did he go with you?
Yes, I'm so thankful of that! I was afraid that he'd disappear somewhere else! Thank you Goddesses! I don't know what I'd do without him! And get this.. I think my father likes him too!
No way! Your dad almost hates everyone! Well non-royals that is. Congrats! Think your going to marry him anytime?
What! M-marraige? I- I don't, I haven't thought about it..
Good! So you've given this a lot of thought! Hope everything works out! But don't make any plans until all this is over, got it?
Yes mother
Whatever, now I really should go, I miss you guys! Tell Dark I said hi!
Ok! Good luck Zellie! Miss you too!
I cut the conversation off, and took a deep breath, looks like that took a lot more out of me than I thought. I spent a little longer by myself cooling down, and practicing my magic as well as gymnastics, hand to hand combat, my bow and arrow, and my sword, before deciding to head back.
I woke up a little after dawn, and stretched, opening my eyes I saw that Link was already up. "Link? What are you doing up so early?"
"Where were you last night?" he demanded
"Whats it to you?" I asked slightly taken aback with his demand
"Where were you last night?" he repeated
"Getting away from you" I replied dryly, rolling my eyes I began to pack up. The anger from yesterday coming back.
"What are you doing?"
"Packing up, do you plan on living here?" I gave him a 'isn't it obvious' look, and I watched as realization slowly dawned upon him. He had an 'Oh' expression on his face before he joined in packing.
After several silent moments we had everything packed up and we were riding off to Kakariko Village, "We should be there by noon" I told him, calculating the distance left. He just gave a grunt, as an indication that he heard me.
The rest of the ride was in tense silence, with the occasional small talk, but it would always end awkwardly. When we finally arrived, I literally gave a breath of relief as I led him to Impa and my house.
Along the way, people greeted me warmly, at least one thing hasn't changed I thought as I smiled back. The Bastard Ganondork might have changed the time, but Kakariko Village is about the same as remembered, except with a few changes.
Just before we entered the house, I stopped. "Um, Zelda? Aren't you going to open th-" I placed a finger to his lips to silence him. He still gave me a questioning glance, which I ignored.
It can't be, can it? I anxiously opened the door, and walked in. "Zelda!" came seven different voices, before I was engulfed into a massive hug.
"Can't... Brea... the!" I choked out, hearing muttered sorry's before being able to breathe again.
"You guys! It's so good to see you again!" I exclaimed seeing all my cousins, Anju and Impa, giving them huge hugs. We all started speaking at once all about what happened so far and how we were doing and stuff like that before I remembered about Link, who was standing by the door shifting awkwardly.
"Well, dear, we'll be on our way then" Impa said after we all calmed down.
"Wait, on your way? What do you mean?" I was confused, where are they going?
"We're going back to the castle" Tetra explained.
"And I'll be back at the temple" Impa said.
"Do you have to go right now?"
"Yes, I'm afraid so, we all have our duties Zelda and you need to start on your quest" I nodded, even though I'll miss them, I knew Impa was right. We all exchanged good-bye's before they left.
"So.. What now?" Link asked after they left.
"I guess we can do whatever today, before training tomorrow" I than realized that we might need jobs to pay for food and the house, so I headed for the door, "I'll be back by tonight" I called over my shoulder.
"Tonight? Why? Where are you going?"
"To get a job, were going to need money aren't we?"
"I could help"
"Ok, I guess, try finding a job, I've already got one in mind" I left for Crystal Cove, my friend Amy owns the restaurant (Well actually it's an ice cream store) but she said I could always work for her whenever I came.
"Hey Amy!" I greeted once I came in.
"Zelda! What a lovely surprise! What can I do for you? The regular?" Amy was a kind hearted women, she was almost like a mother-figure after Impa of course.
"Nah, I'm here for a job"
"Wonderful! Its about time you learned to work, you can start now. There's a uniform in the back, I'll have Jessica help you around"
Jessica was a nice girl too, with long dark hair, we became fast friends and the job wasn't too hard since I used to love hanging around here. I have the afternoon shifts from three to eight.
I also met my other co-workers, there's Chloe, Alexia, Jacob, Lucas and Ben. There a fun group, I learned that Chloe is more of the fun and outgoing type, not afraid to speak her mind and likes to stay positive.
Alexia's also fun, but she's more of the athletic type, she likes track, soccer and I also learned that she likes music too. She's not as outgoing as Chloe, but she does speak her mind from time to time. Not to mention she can be a little mischievous.
Jacob is also athletic, but can have a childish personality. He can be a little too serious sometimes, but is actually really fun. He's got a little brother that he cares for and although he acts tough, he's a big softy.
Lucas and Ben are both great guys, they're best friends and have almost the same personalities, although I think Lucas cares a little more about education and is a bit on the shy side.
Even without them telling me, I can definitely feel chemistry between Chloe and Ben as well as Alexa and Lucas. I'll have to talk to both sides later to confirm it, but I'm pretty good at reading emotions. I also have a hunch that Jacobs got it for Jessica...
"Bye guys! See you tomorrow!" I called out as I left after my shift.
"Bye Zelda!" they chorused. I smiled, looks like today wasn't so bad. I think I did pretty good for someone's first day, and I got at least fifteen dollars in tips! I found Link outside our door for some reason.
"Um hi?" I asked, what is he doing outside?
"Hi" he stated simply, well this is awkward...
"So.. Did you find a job?" I stepped around him and opened the door.
"Uh, no.. Did you?"
"Oh, uh yes I did. I'm waitressing at Crystal Cove" I started to prepare dinner while he walked around the house. "Dinner should be ready in a little bit.. And no I didn't buy it, I'm making it" I remembered the last time I cooked for him.
"Oh, yeah about that. I'm sorry.." he rubbed the back of his neck sheepishly, "I shouldn't have said those things"
I smiled, "It's Ok, I shouldn't have taken it so seriously" I let cuckoo (Is that what this is?) sit while I gave Link a tour of the house. After that we both at our roasted cuckoo in silence, before heading to bed.
Sorry for the crappy ending, but I didn't know what else to do. I hope you liked this chapter, and I promise to update more! Although it might take a little while, I've got some searching to do. Thank you for reading! R&R!
