Hey! Looks like you guys aren't really into solving riddles! Oh well, maybe later on as we get more riddles you'll get better at that , feel free to submit one if you'd like, I'll try to put it into the story and I apologize if it doesn't. Anyways I'm here with another chapter! Did anyone catch a little jealousy from Link? Does anyone else think it's cute when boys get jealous? It's probably because they care, (Probably, or they just really like you, but not YOU, confusing huh?) Lol, anyways apologies for the long wait, these Language Art projects are killing me! (And some of my creativity! D:) So I can't wait for summer, meaning I can update more! Good and bad that I have finals, good because I have less homework, bad because we're all cramming knowlegde in our brains. But 4 more days till summer! Enough of my endless rantings, lets move on to the story, enjoy! R&R, please and thank you! :)

Warning: I apologize if this chapter (And maybe the ones that follow) suck, like I said before, Language Arts is so tiring.

I started this back in June-ish sorry for this being late, now I have to 'Work' why does the world not want me to finish?

Zelda's P.O.V

"I posses no heat, yet I do have steam .." I muttered looking over Link's shoulder to read the riddle again. "No voice.. But from far away you can still hear me shout" I racked my brain for anything that could relate to the riddle.

Getting a couple ideas, I took the paper out of Link's hand and walked over to the desk that was a couple feet away, "You can go rid yourself of your boyish sweat, I'll be over here" I waved him off distractedly as I began writing my ideas down.

If I was paying closer attention, I might have seen him roll his eyes and mutter a not so discrete 'Nerd' under his breath as he climbed up the stairs. A couple minutes later I heard running water, but due to my focus, it was only faint taps.

Run, though I have no legs to be seen. I posses no heat, yet I do have steam. I have no voice to let words out, but from far away you can still hear me shout.

What am I?

I re-read the riddle and start making a list of all the possible answers. I hardly noticed how long I was working until Link came downstairs -Fully changed into pajamas, and hair still slightly wet- and snatched the paper away from me.

"Hey! I was writing on that!" I turned to grab the paper again but he held it over my head. Darn tall people, I pouted as Link scanned over my list.

It looked a little like this.

Possible Riddle Answers:

1. Trains?

2. Water?

3. Stoves?

4. Waves?

5. Showers?

6. Whistle?

7. Body heat?

8. Waterfall?

9. Volcanos?

10. Wind?

"Zelda, numbers five, seven, nine, and ten sound horribly stupid" Link started laughing at my not so brilliant guesses

"Well Einstein, I don't see any of your brilliant ideas" I huffed, finally grasping the paper back after many failed attempts.

"Relax Zel, I didn't say they were all horrible, just those ones. Plus I'm not the riddle kind of guy"

"That is not reassuring, and I find your lack of knowledge in solving anything very surprising" I smooth the wrinkles out in the paper and shot him a look. "Now if you'll excuse me, I have a lot of work to do narrowing down our few options."

Link gently, but firmly grabs the pencil in my hand and starts to scribble over the paper.

"Link what a-" I start but he silences me by handing the paper back.

"You can start by eliminating numbers five, seven, nine and ten. No matter how much I as you say lack the knowledge of as solving anything, even I know those are ridiculous" he stats matter-of-factly.

I muttered something incoherent, but I knew he was right. "What was that?" he asked, I could tell he knew that he was right, but he was really pressing it now.

"I said, I'm going to shower so you can work on it, Mr. Smart aleck" I rolled my eyes at ask as I climes the stairs.

Link's P.O.V

I chuckled as Zelda stormed upstairs, it's not the I enjoy annoying her -Well I kinda do- but I think it's kinda cute, though I'd never tell her that. Sighing I sat down and stared blankly at the riddle.

Man who has time to solve riddles? Don't they have lives? I looked from the riddle to the answers Zelda came up with, trying to narrow them down, but like I said, I'm not a puzzle guy.

I gave the paper another look, but the harder I squinted the more messed up they seemed.

"Wow, I can practically smell the smoke from you thinking" Zelda bounded down the stairs, hair damp and hanging limply, still swaying slightly due to her running down the stairs. "Need some help there?"

I grunted in reply, crossing out some other random answers so it seemed like I knew what I was doing.

"Link, even I know that your just scribbling on the page" she sighed and took the paper away from me. Giving the answers a once over, she began to cross the answers out. I couldn't do anything so I went over to the T.V, and started watching Barney -I couldn't find the remote, don't judge me-

I woke up with a start as I heard a Bang. With blurry eyes I looked around and realized that I must have fallen asleep, im currently clutching my head laying on the ground. Seeing that the place was in pitch black -Save for some light over there- I looked at the clock, it read 2:00 AM in bright green numbers.

Rubbing my head, I got up and stretched. "Stupid floor, why do you have to be so hard?" I scowled. Weird I thought, why is that light on over there? Curious I walked slowly towards the light.

The light was a flicker of red, orange and yellow. Dancing along a slight breeze, it was set on a desk. On the desk were a couple papers, and a bundle of... Fur? I walked closer to the bundle and discovered that it wasn't a bundle at all. It was Zelda.

She was asleep on the desk, but I see she finished the riddle because there was a circle around a number. The light illuminated her sleeping face, giving it a warm glow. It seemed like her face was coming closer and closer, until I realized that it was me who was moving.

As I was mentally panicking, Zelda suddenly jumped up and grabbed my, pulling it behind me. "Link? What are you doing? It's like 2:20"

"I could ask you the same. Now could you let me go?"

"Sorry about that, Impa trained me that. Never know if someone will try to do something while your asleep, better to be prepared"

"O.. Kay, you've got to teach me that. Anyway I saw the light, came over and saw that you finished the riddle"

"Oh, yeah. It was actually pretty simple once I thought about it. Guess I fell asleep after, we should get some sleep. I'll tell you the answer tomorrow a little after dawn" with those parting words she was gone like a flash, and with the answer too.

A couple of hours later I woke up freezing cold.. Again. "Zelda, ever heard of knocking!?" I shivered in the ice cold water I was drenched in as she tried -And failed- to keep from laughing.

"Link, sweetheart, where's the fun in knocking?" Before I could retort she cut in, "Seriously you have 20 minutes to get downstairs, I'm making pancakes" and then she was gone.

"Pancakes? Did not see that coming" I muttered, going to the bathroom to clean up. The fresh smell of batter and chocolate wafted through the air. I stood fully dressed and was about to open the door until a voice rang out behind me.

"Boo" Zelda whispered right by my ear, startled, I jumped back.

"Seriously Zelda? Are you trying to give me a heart attack?" I glared at her.

"Nah, you were just taking forever. Meet you downstairs slowpoke" I expected her to disappear into thin air, but she opened the door and ran down instead. I followed her quickly downstairs, into the kitchen and saw a pile of chocolate pancakes.

"What'd you do to the pancakes?" I cautiously examined the pancakes, they looked like normal chocolate chip pancakes.

"Nothing you big dork, were heading out to get our first key. Hurry up and eat already" Zelda rolled her eyes, exasperated when she saw me hesitat. and took a pancake to show me that they weren't poisoned, or hurt me in anyway.

Giving the pancakes one more look, I shrugged and took a couple of pancakes, then proceeded to stuff my face. "Mm mhm, mhmm mm!"

"One, don't talk with your mouth full, and two I can't understand a word you sayou'd you don't chew and swallow first" I did as she told me, because I could tell she was irritated by my lack of manners. Pfft, who needs table manners? It's just pancakes.

"Anyways" Zelda interrupted my thoughts, "It's time for us to finally get our first key! We're heading for a waterfall"

"O.. Kay" I said slowly, "And where are we going to find said waterfall?"

"We are heading for Lake Hylia. I asked my friend -Prince Ralis- if he could get us a place to stay while we're there looking and he agreed to help, so hurry up. You have exactly twenty minutes to pack and remember to pack lightly"

Zelda cleared the rest of the pancakes away, as I walked quickly up the stairs. Heading to my room, I picked up my green bag and packed some shirts and pants, as long as my Hero shirt, tights (Ugh, seriously, why tights!? I mean they are comfortable...) and hat.

"Hey Link? You done yet?" Called Zelda from downstairs, Hmm I'm surprised she didn't just teleport behind me again. Putting a few more things into my bag, I shrugged my backpack on and headed downstairs.

"Yep, I'm all set" Zelda was putting some stuff into a bag when I got there. Curious, I tried to sneak a peek.

"Alright lets go, hope your prepared. This could take a couple days before we get there" She closed the bag just as I caught sight of a map, and a book. She gave me a questioning look as I stared at the closed backpack.

I shook my head to tell her that it was nothing, we walked out the front door and Zelda handed me a cloak, "To keep us hidden, never know what might come after us" I noticed that she had on her cloak too -A navy blue- while mine was a dark forest green.

I followed after her as she lead us out of the peaceful village and into the dark forest which laid ahead of us, looming shadows I every corner made it look a little intimidating, but Zelda was totally unfazed.

As I glanced back at the barely visible village, a sharp and smooth howl cut through the air like a knife cutting butter. Taking a deep breath I prepared myself for all the things that will appear.

I caught Zelda's eye and she gave me a reassuring smile, and reached for my hand. I returned the smile and gratefully accepted it. We both turned and looked straight into the darkness as something moved...
