It was about 3 hours after Ai had fainted, when she open her eyes she was surprise to be in her bed. After a few minuets of thinking of how she got there she declared that she took a nap and had the nightmare about what Souta told her. She breath out a sigh of relief thanking the gods it was just a real bad dream. Ai turned her head towards the clock and saw it was one P.M, time to make lunch for every one. So she got up and made her way downstairs, but stop dead in her tracks as she look down at the kitchen floor. There was Inuyasha and Kagome on the floor unconscious. Not only that, but during the time of their unconsciousness their position might have change into a recently more natural way they slept at night next to each other. This included Kagome back press to Inuyasha as he had an arm wrap firmly around her stomach as if to protect it and their legs entwine in a not-so-appropriate-way. She stared at them curious as in why they were like that, as if some one wanted to give her some knowledge of what was going on Souta came by and was heading towards the stairs.
"Souta dear" Ai said, catching her son attention. He stop and look at her with also some curiosity and innocents.
"Ya mom" He ask
"Why is Inuyasha and your sister on the floor, and asleep?" she ask, Souta shrug his shoulders as he answered.
"Well, they both fainted when I told them the story and they been like that for a while now" Souta answered as he then began to make his way up the stairs. Ai just then took deep breath to keep from fainting again.
'Okay have to think rationally' She reason as she moved until she stood above them. 'Just wake them up' She told herself, so Ai bent down and began to shake both of them lightly.
"Kagome, Inuyasha" She said some what loudly to wake up, both of them stirred as Inuyasha embrace tighten and Kagome buried herself deeper into him. "Kagome time to wake up for school" Ai now yelled, Inuyasha continued to sleep but Kagome was wide wake once the word 'school' left her mouth. Kagome natural instinct told her to bolt up and head into the shower, but Inuyasha tight hug said otherwise. It took Kagome a second to realize that Inuyasha was holding her and there was nothing to worry about, but then after another minuet Kagome realize she was on the kitchen floor.
"What the hex" She mumble, Kagome gaze went up and felt her cheeks turn into fire as she saw her mother giving her one of the I-know-what-you-did-and-we're-talking-about-it-now looks. Kagome face turn into a darker shade of red when she realized her position. Kagome tried to get out of Inuyasha grip, but it was kind of hard with Inuyasha half demon strength and strong muscles holding her like his life depended on it. Ai continued to give her the look and cross her arms, making it clear Kagome had to get up now.
"Inuyasha" Kagome whispered to him "Time to wake up" She said, just as she thought Inuyasha groan and held her closer if that was even possible as he mumbled something loud enough for even Ai to hear.
"Sleep longer" Kagome groan as Ai continued to stare, which was freaking Kagome out.
"Inuyasha wake up and I'll make you ramen" Kagome tried, that trick work a few times, but this was not one of those times.
"Rather have you" He mumbled again as he began to kiss Kagome neck that he just happen to have access to. Kagome felt like she was dying in embracement as her mother was right there eyes filled with shock.
"Inuyasha please get up" Kagome whine, Inuyasha grunted before answering between kisses.
"Why?" He ask before kissing her, Kagome sigh, there was only one way to wake him up.
"Because I want to take a shower" Kagome whispered quietly hoping her mother wouldn't hear her, but sadly she could read lips. However it was not in vein for when Kagome said that Inuyasha bolted up straddling over her looking down with that grin of his.
"Can I join you?" He ask before he capture her lips in a passionate kiss not at all aware of the woman standing behind them.
"Ahem!" Ai said/groan catching the half demon attention as he stop his kissing. He released Kagome lips and slowly turned around and just as he thought he saw Ai standing behind him with a serious expression on her usually happy face. Inuyasha immediately jump off of Kagome and they both manage to stand up quickly, trying to act as innocent as they could.
"Ah mom, me and Inuyasha….we were ah…were" Kagome stammered trying to explain something that could make what she saw less awkward, Ai held up a hand indicating to be silence. Kagome shut her mouth as Inuyasha tried to look as small as possible, not at all sure what to say at this.
"Living room. Now" Ai said in a calm voice closing her eyes. Both nodded as they hurried their ways into the living room. Once there Kagome and Inuyasha sat on the same couch that was on the left side of the living room. Kagome and Inuyasha didn't say anything to each other as they waited for Ai to come in. Kagome was nervous of what was going to happen, but not as nervous as Inuyasha. He remember when he use to simply look at women, just a glance, and fathers and/or mother would jump on him telling him to leave and to stay away from their daughter. Inuyasha could only imagine Ai wrath for going as far as touching her daughter and tainting her and her being pregnant! That was going to help his case a lot. True Ai was nice to him, and reminded him of his mother, but still, looks could be deceiving. So they both waited until Ai finally came in, she had a calm expression on her face as she walk in, she sat on the other couch just across them, the only thing separating them was a glass table. Both of them stared at the floor as Ai look at them, waiting for some one to say the first word, it was Ai.
"Alright you 2, tell me what kind of relationship you been having and how long has it been going on?" Another minuet past before Kagome once again broke the silence and answering Ai question.
"Well…me and Inuyasha are sort of…..mates" Kagome answered, Ai gave her a curious look.
"It means we're married in demon terms" Inuyasha answered still looking down like a dog who did something wrong and was waiting to get scolded. Ai expression didn't change as she continued to look at the 2 as if deciding on something. Kagome played with the bottom of her skirt waiting for her to speak, she finally did.
"Is that all you've been hiding, or is there something else I should know?" Ai ask, Kagome sigh as Inuyasha kept quiet.
'Well, this is as good a time as any' Kagome thought before she spoke again, while moving her left hand in front of her.
"We're engaged," Kagome said, showing her ring finger to Ai before pulling it back and whispering the next part. "And I'm also pregnant" The room remind quiet as they both waited, Inuyasha waited for Ai to explode on him, while Kagome waited for Ai to give some kind of response.
"How far are you?" Ai ask Kagome.
"A month and a half" Kagome said again, Ai nodded as she took in this information. "Inuyasha do you love my daughter" Ai ask, surprising both Inuyasha and Kagome, but he answered none the less, now having some glimmer of hope she would allow Kagome to marry him.
"Of course I do" He answered, not in his usual cocky way, but in a serious tone to show that he really loved Kagome, Ai turned towards Kagome.
"Kagome do you love Inuyasha" Ai ask Kagome look up quickly as she nodded her head furiously up and down to indicate the answer yes.
"Yes mom of course I do!" Kagome said, Ai nodded as she close her eyes and taking a deep breath.
"Alright then" She said as both Kagome and Inuyasha head returned to facing the ground waiting for Kagome mother to scold them in the least. "One more question" She said, causing Inuyasha ear to twitch and Kagome to look up slightly to prove they were listening. "Will they child have Inuyasha ears?" She question while giving them the biggest and warmest smile a mother could ever hope to give. Both Inuyasha and Kagome head shot up eyes open wide in shock and surprise.
"Wait, you're not mad?" Inuyasha ask completely astonish, not at all expecting Kagome mother NOT to be mad.
"Well, I am slightly disappointed that you didn't tell me earlier." Ai admitted making Inuyasha ear to go down again and Kagome to blush slightly. "But I know you love each other and that you will take care of Kagome" Ai continued with the obvious logic. "And besides, I knew this would happen….I just didn't expect to find out that way" Ai said again, causing both Inuyasha and Kagome to blush furiously, which also reminded Kagome of something.
"Oh ya, Inuyasha Sit boy" Kagome said as if she remembered something and was speaking it out loud to no one in particular. But it still brought Inuyasha face first into the ground barley missing the coffee table.
"What the hell way that for Kagome!" Inuyasha screech as he brought his head up from the floor, Kagome had her arms cross with her face looking the other way.
"That was for not telling me about the fact Souta was spying on us." Kagome said, Inuyasha felt a vein pop.
"How the hell was I suppose to know he was spying on us!" Inuyasha argued back Kagome glared at him whiling also yelling back.
"You should have been able to smell him! I mean like come on it's not like he was using some scent hiding spell!" Kagome shoot back, Inuyasha stop at seeing Kagome won that fight.
"Ked, it doesn't matter, it's not like the kid knows what we did." Inuyasha could now feel the presence of Kagome anger.
"Doesn't Matter?" She ask "My 10 year old brother saw me and you do it and you say it doesn't matter? What if he tells some body or for gods sakes tell the whole class about it, do you know how much trouble I'm going to be for that!" Kagome yelled, Inuyasha was backing away slowly until he was behind Ai hoping to god he would live to see the end of the day. Ai decided to save her son in law before he ended up dead.
"Now don't worry Kagome, I'll speak to him later and trust me when I say you'll never have to worry about this again. Okay dear?" Kagome was taking deep breaths as she calm her self down.
"You can really do that mom?" Kagome ask, Ai nodded as Kagome breaths out another sigh of relieve.
"Relax Kagome, stress isn't good for the child" Ai comment.
"Pup" Inuyasha correct, Ai giggled causing Inuyasha to blush.
"Okay mom, I'll calm down" Kagome said, Inuyasha sigh in relieve as he step out from behind Ai and now stood next's to Kagome being naturally protective.
"Well, I guess I better make some phone calls" Ai said as she walk pass them to retrieve the phone. This cause confusion for Kagome and Inuyasha.
"Phone calls" They both ask, Ai nodded as she pulled out the phone.
"But to who?" Kagome ask, Ai smiled as she answered.
"Why to the whole family of course" Ai answered, they both still held faces of confusion.
"Why would you need to call the whole family?" Kagome question farther, Ai also began to dial a number.
"To invite them to the wedding" she answered simply.
"WEDDING?" They both yelled in complete surprise.
"Well yes, you are going to have one aren't you?" Ai ask, stopping her fingers from pressing the call button.
"Well ya we are…it just-"
"Then I better start calling them." Ai said cutting her off as she press the call button and walk out of the room with the phone. Souta just then came in curious as ever as a boy could be.
"who's mom calling?" Souta ask, Kagome blush while Inuyasha was still trying to figure out what Ai meant by 'calling the family' with that strange little box's of hers.
"She going to call the whole family" Kagome said still trying to get over the shock.
"Really, what for?" Souta ask his curiosity growing bigger every second. Kagome then smiled as the actual thought she was going to marry the man she loved with all her heart began to sit in. She gave Souta the biggest smile ever as she gave him an answer to calm his hunger of curiosity.
"Because she going to invite them to the wedding" Kagome said, happiness was clear in her eyes as Souta gasp.
"Really, who's getting married!" Souta yelled.
"Me and Kagome, who the hell do you think?" Inuyasha ask, he had finally gave up on figuring out the whole 'calling the family' with a small box's thought and caught the last question Souta ask, and so answered. Souta eyes grew wider and a smile grew on his face that said 'this is the clooest thing ever'.
"AWSOME! this means you and me can be brothers" Souta yelled while jumping up and down with excitement. Inuyasha however got confuse from 'being brothers'.
"What do you mean brothers? Where not related at all" Inuyasha said, not in a 'I don't want you to be my brother' but in a 'I don't understand way'. Kagome sigh while Souta jump to answer Inuyasha question.
"When 2 people get married, all of the persons brothers and sisters and parents and stuff become their in laws" Souta answer so fast that if Inuyasha wasn't part demon he wouldn't have understood a thing.
"In laws?" Inuyasha repeated the un familiar word, Kagome came to the rescue this time.
"It means by law you and Souta would be brothers, and my family would be yours" Kagome answer, Inuyasha took in the information while Souta was still jumping in excitement also waiting for Inuyasha reaction.
"So can we be brothers?" Souta ask with hope he would like to be his brother. Inuyasha was rather shock this boy was so anxious to be his brother, his thoughts were interrupted by Souta question to confirm if they would could be brothers or not.
'what the hell' Inuyasha thought, beside it would be nice for a brother that didn't try to kill you and idolize you.
"Sure" Inuyasha answered finally "I don't mind" Souta pump his fist in victory as Kagome just giggled at him. Ai then came into the room clicking the phone off after finishing her last call.
"Well the guest will be arriving in one week." Ai said, causing more curiosity to come from Kagome.
"Who's coming?" Kagome ask.
"Well you all your aunts, uncles, and cousins are coming" Ai answer, Kagome smile brighten as Inuyasha smiled himself.
"Hey mom, when's the wedding" Souta ask excitedly.
"Well I hope to have it soon, in about half a month." Ai said thinking about it, Kagome eyes widen as did Inuyasha.
"Half a month? Mom isn't that a little soon?" Kagome ask, Ai wave her hand as she answered.
"Nonsense dear, I mean if your pregnant you'll have to get married before the baby is born." Ai said, Souta gasp while Kagome and Inuyasha blush.
"You're pregnant! Oh this is so cool now I get to be an uncle" Souta exclaim, Kagome blush a little as Inuyasha let out a ked to avoid some embracement.
"Hey how about we celebrate by going out to Lunch!" Souta ask with hope. Ai smiled at the suggestion.
"You know I think that would be nice." Ai said, Kagome nodded in agreement.
"Ya I am hungry" Kagome said, Inuyasha stomach then growled in agreement, causing every one to laugh a little.
"Alright then lets" Ai said as she grab her purse, Kagome gave Inuyasha his hat to wear and Souta began talking a mile a minuet about everything. As they walk out Kagome felt like she was forgetting something but couldn't remember.
'Oh well' she thought as she walk out with the others. Just then grandpa Higurashi walk in.
"Hello….does any one know where my medication is, I have to take it now, its kind of important." He was given no answer.
