7. Julieta´s Arch Enemies
(Next morning, in "La Dorada")
The morning was bright and early as roosters awoken all the men in "La Dorada" by they call. The air was fresh in the country side, especially in her lands. The boys got shower and changed into their working clothes and started doing their daily working in feeding the animals, cleaning the ranch house, and getting everything ready when their boss arrives. Since El Indio was Doña Barbara's right hand man, he was in charge of everything when she's not around.
"Muchachos, get everything ready for this afternoon, LaDoña is coming to make a trip to the gold mines. And she wants everything ready before she gets her" Indio inform and they obey his orders.
"La Doña! SHE IS HERE! La Doña IS HERE!" Juan Primito cried as they saw Doña Barbara, riding on her horse. Juan Primito opens the gates for her. "Bienvenida, mi doña" he greeted kindly as she gets off her horse.
"Gracias. It's always so nice seeing you, mi Juan Primito" she hugs him, tenderly
"Should I take Sol to the staples" he asks as he holds on to Sol's strap
"Yes, please. She needs rest and her plenty of carrots and fresh agua (water) I'll check on her later" she says, patting Sol's head.
"Si, mi doña, it shall be done" he smiled in his goofy ways, which made her laugh.
As Juan Primito leaves to do what he was order, Julieta goes around her ranch house to the back staples and animal corals to finds her men working on their daily jobs.
"Buenos Dias, muchachos" she greeted.
"Buenos Dias, Doña!" they waved
Another hot day in "La Dorada" which meant another busy day for Julieta Rojillo but when she's in the fields, she is only known by Doña Barbara, the owner of the lands. So she didn't need her mask to hide her face to her men, who don't recognize her as the wealthy rich daughter of Don Rojillo. Sometimes she even feels she doesn't want to go back to that hell she calls home. She perfers being Doña Barbara anytime and be free in the fields and mountains, surrounded by the peace and danger of nature.
"Muchachos, feed the horses, please, and get them ready for me. I want to put their shoes on today"
"Si, Doña Barbara. Whatever you say" they replied, tipping their hats to her
Julieta goes into her ranch house and sets down her things on her bed. She goes to her closet and changes into her working clothes with a long apron on to work and help her men with the work in her ranch house. With a set of small knives in her belt, she goes out in the open with a couple of horse shoes and a hammer. As she walks to the staples, El Indio brings out one of their horses who needed new horse shoes and be cleaned.
"Here he is, Doña. Old Pedro. The fastest horse that ever lived in these lands" Indio introduced as Julieta pats the horse's mane that seems to like her so fast.
"What a bonito caballo. Keep him still, Indio" she orders and Indio obeys, keeping the horse still "Yeah, that's perfect, Indio. Keep them still, por favor until I nail the shoe in" With a nod, Indio hold the pretty brown horse as Julieta bends down and started hammering the horse shoe under the horse's foot as it kept calm in trusting her.
"Doña Barbara" a nasty voice said
She heard the familiar voice, a voice she knew all too well and hated with all her soul. So she ignores it and goes back to work but the voice kept insisting. The owner of the voice was getting on La Doña's nerves and that it never good.
"Doña Barbara! I'm talking to you!" it cry to her again, but angrier.
With an angry smirk, Julieta's huff while putting on her mask back on her face. She turns around to meet the face of her arches rival, riding on her horse.
It was Antonia Guerra, daughter of a wealthy family that lived next door to her family and Los Celestes. She was spoiled, bratty and always gets what she wants; she was a complete Daddy's girl. She wanted the fanciest things in life, jewels, dresses, shoes, all the gold and diamonds in the town of Santa Verona and in the world. She came to confront Julieta to stay away from him. Obviously, Antonia didn't know Doña Barbara was really Julieta Isabel Rojillo but she had her mask on just in case. Plus, Antonia wanted her land where there was gold but Julieta will fight for what is her's.
"Here I am, Antonia Guerra. I came to talk to you, mujer a mujer" Antonia glares as she walks toward La Doña.
Julieta takes a few steps forward, with a dirty smirk. She knew what was she her to "talk" about and she knows it will not end well. But for the sake of her men and her people, she thought fast on how she was going to defend her rights from this tramp.
"Woman to woman? Me and who else? I don't see the other woman" Julieta said, trying to sound funny which made her men laugh.
"Me" Antonia said slightly brave as she got off her horse. "I'm the other woman" she glares.
"You? If you say so" Julieta scoffs, chuckling "Now tell me, what are you doing in my ranch house señorita?" she replied, uninterested on what her enemy had to say.
"Can we talk in private?" Antonia asks, getting uncomfortable by all Julieta's men.
"No. Doña Barbara has no secrets or any private business. Anything you have to say to me, you can say it to my men. So start talking or get out" Julieta demanded.
"Ok, well, 2 simple things. 1# I want you to stay away from mi novio.(boyfriend)El Zorro is mi prometido (fiancé) and you are hurting him" she says with a glare (A/N: It's a lie! She made it up!)
"Oh please, I only gave him a few bloody scratches, that's all. But from the look on his face, he didn't complain, he obviously enjoyed it" she gloats, making her men laugh again but Antonia boiling mad.
"Look... "señorita", I tried being educated and descent with you but trying to reason with you is impossible, it looks like I'm wasting my time"
"And mine, my time is gold. I have work to do. So get on with it and tell me what else you came to here for"
"Ok, I also came to inform you that you and your disgusting rats will have to be moving somewhere else because this ranch and these lands will be mine"
"How dare you say that so my face, mosca muerta. This ranch belonged to my mother and I have heir these lands. Plus, here is where my men sleep and work and I pay them very well for their hard work, right, muchachos?!" she asks them, proudly
"Si, mi doña!" they replied in cheer and she grins, proudly.
"See? Plus, Doña Barbara will always be here to serve the town. That is something that spoiled and rude princesas like you never do"
"That's because the difference between you and I is that I am a woman of society and you are nothing but a fitly rat hag with no class or education who has the entire town blinded by your true colors. By what I heard, you bewitched them with your disgusting witch craft. That's what you are, a despicable and filthy woman with no class"
Not thinking of it twice or allowing that insult, Julieta punched Antonia with her strong fist, making her fall to the ground as blood came out of the left side of Antonia's mouth, staring at her in disbelief. Julieta glare at her with anger and evilness, telling her to fear her with her eyes and smirk. Her men stayed quiet as they smoke on their cigarettes and watched with awe, knowing that Antonia made the mistake to go up against their boss. This will not end well.
"You punched me!?" Antonia cried in disbelief, holding on to her chin. "In my face! I'm bleeding! Someone help me!" she cried but none of the men moved a muscle.
"Don't even try, princesita. These men only answer to my orders. And that punch was nothing, be grateful that I didn't break your teeth. So get out of her before I lose the little patience I have left and you wouldn't want to see that, sweetie"
"You are going to pay for this humiliation! I swear it! My father will bulldoze these disgusting fields. And you and your rats will have to sleep on the streets!"
"Get out of here before I break the promise I made to the people" Julieta warms, trying to keep her temper down.
"And what promise is that?" Antonia asks
"I promise to never fight unless I needed it to defend me or anyone who is need of my help. That's why I didn't hit you will all I have left but next time I will not respond"
"YOU'RE A BEAST! A wild thing!" Antonia insulted, angrily
"Oh tell me something that I don't already know. But guess what? This is how the town loves me, wild but loyal to them. And don't fool yourself; you and I both know that El Zorro prefers me than you because I bring out the man out of him. Haven't you asked yourself that? And for respect on your father, he and Don Rojillo make businesses to rob mi pueblo and I won't allow it"
"My father and Don Rojillo are loyal to town. And since you don't have the deed of the lands, they will not hesitate in kicking out of Spain either!"
"Oh really? Because all they ever done are robbing the people and I give them the happiness and necessities they deserve, unlike scums like you. Especially Don Fernando, he has done so many crimes even worse than mine for the last 20 years. He is the real monster, not me or my men" she glares, referring to Antonia's father.
"He would never do anything to me because I am a descent woman. And I now that I am the perfect woman for him because I am a princess, a woman of class unlike you, asquerosa" Antonia insulted but Julieta scoffs in laughter and her men laugh with her by Antonia's stupidity as she continues to speak.
"And as for your men, I advise you to let them go because you will not have even a piece of bread to feed them. And less pay them for their dirty work. Want to know why? Because I come from the same world of class and society. Unlike you, what do you have? You have cows, chicken, dirty pigs. And you know what else? I am leaving this rat hole. I understood that you're not a rival for me because you are an old fitly hag like you"
That's when Julieta couldn't hold back her anger any longer "That's what you think, princesa?! You broke my last nerve and you asked for it so don't say I didn't warn you!" Julieta grabs Antonia by her blonde hair and drags her away as her men follow behind her, cheering her on.
"What are you doing? Let go of me!" she screamed in plead
"I'm going to give you a SPA treatment, your highness. I will treat you will a queen!"
Julieta goes to back of the stables where there were pigs and goats. Seeing what his boss was planning to do, Juan Primito opens the gates to her as she continues to pull Antonia by her hair to the back of her ranch house where the pigs were and it was filled with mud puddles. With a hard pull, Julieta throws Antonia into the pig slime as her men cheered in delight. They found the fight between their boss and Lady Antonia was very entertaining since they know their boss was going to win by her hard-core attitude. As the guys lean closer get a better view of the fight, Julieta gets on top on Antonia and starts pushing her head into the mud as mud got into Antonia's mouth!
"Let's see how womanly you are now, princesita!" Julieta pushes her head onto the mud as she continues to scream "Repeat me what you said. I DON'T HEAR YOU! See if you have the guts now to say it!" she yelled in anger.
"Leave me alone! Get of me!" Antonia screams for mercy. Julieta keeps pushing her onto the mud while her men continue to laugh and cheer until Julieta finally gets off her but still boiling in anger.
"This better be the last time I see you in my home, mocosa! You hear me or next time I will not go easy on you because this mud bath is just the soft side of me" Julieta yells as Antonia struggled to get on her feet, nearly slipping on the mud.
"I swear you! You will pay for this humiliation, and for my clothes, jewels & treatment!" Antonia yelled in her face as she wipes off the mud off her face and body.
Then Julieta grabs her by her neck, nearly chocking her "Listen, mosca muerta, do not provoke me because nobody defies me and less in my own home. So get out or you will see the darker side of me!" Julieta yelled as she let goes off her, throwing her to the ground. (Mosca muerta: dead fly)
"Muchachos, get this peste out of mi ranchera" Julieta orders with a nasty smirk. (Peste: stink)
"Ok, let's go, princesa" Indio and Lucho drag Antonia by her arms to the main entrance, throwing her to the ground.
"Don't touch me, asquerosos (filthy) I swear to you Doña Barbara, I will make sure you pay and leave you in la calle (street) for the rest of your miserable viva!" (miserable life) Antonia cries from a distance as she was taken away.
Julieta was boiling in anger that at any moment she can explode and it will not be very pretty. It's always a bad thing when somebody angers Doña Barbara. She stays frozen in place, thinking of what Antonia said. As much as she hates to admit it, she was right. Without the deed she needed, Julieta was going to lose her lands and all its rights and riches. Soon her men come back from taking care of Antonia; they stayed silent as they waited for their boss to come out of her train of thought. It was long until the sweet Juan Primito spoke in a slightly scared tone.
"What happens now, Doña?" Juan Primito asked softly as the others waited for her response.
"All of you finish your work and get everything ready for the hike. I will be out in un minuto" She says with a low tone and goes inside.
Filled with anger and rage in her, Julieta takes off her hat and unties her apron, throwing them on her bed with force. She paces back in forth in her room with anger and lost in thought.
"What does that mosquita muerta think she is!? How dare provoke me in my own home. But as much as I hate to admit it, she has a point. Without the deed, I will loose mis tierras and my people will live in misery will my father keeps robbing them. Not to mention that spoiler's father, they will end up destroying the town before it begins" she growls to herself, putting her hands on her hips.
Julieta takes a drink a small glass of wine as she thinks of a plan. As she thinks, she turns her head a little and sees a picture frame of her mother next to some candles. "I promise you, mamá, I will protect this town with my life even if I get arrested or killed" she said as a small tear came out her eyes.
Julieta perfectly knew she needed the deed but the one who had it was her worst enemy, her outlaw rival, even worse than Antonia Guerra. El Zorro was the only obstacle in all her plans but she can never seem to get rid of him. it was his fault she was having this problema.
"I hate you, Zorro. TE ODIO, MALDITO!" she grabs the entire empty bottle of wine and throws it and it smashed against the wall. "But this is not going to stay like this. I will get that deed, one way or another" she growls, evilly as she loads her gun with bullets. "Enjoy your last minutes alive, Zorro. Because once I destroy you, all you ever will become is un olvido (forgotten memory) in history!" she pulls out a knife and throws it at an old picture of El Zorro on the wall, going to where his heart is. She wanted to destroy him at any cost.
Outside the ranch house, the boys just finished all their work and were waiting for their patrona (boss) They were wondering if she was going to come out after the incident with Antonia Guerra.
"What do we do now?" Leon asked his compadres (pals/buddies)
"We wait until La Doña comes out and give us orders"
"That little princess really pushed her buttons. I'm pretty sure La Doña won't have a smooth morning today"
"Wrong, Luchito! We're going to gold mines, get your horses! We leave right now, muchachos" she orders as she gets on her horse.
A few minutes have passed and Julieta and her men still climbed mountains, crossed rivers and passed through the swamp. They stop at the edge of the river where she was waiting for another shipment of her merchandise. Sadly, she couldn't stay to pick it up herself; she had some more important business to take care in secret, without the help of her men.
"I want you to pick up takes merchandise order and meet me back at "La Dorada" in 2 horas" she orders.
"What will you do, Doña?" Indio asks
"I'm going make an old enemigo a little visit" she says
"Do you want us to come with you, Doña?" Lucho asks
"No, muchas gracias but I can make it on my own. Make sure the merchandise get here and watch out for Rojillo's guards, they have been roaming these parts so be careful" she informs and they tip their hat in respect to her and she did the same as she wonders through the dangerous swamp alone.
She was ready; she will not weaken in her mission. She knew this was dangerous by but she wasn't going to back down. Her main target was go get the deed without getting caught and if she has to shoot somebody, she will not hesitate in pulling that trigger. As she blends in with the darkness, Julieta sneaks through every corner, staying on guard for any danger could pop up. She rides on her horse through the woods until she makes it to the shores. She soon makes it to the end of the shore and sees a familiar sight, La Caverna De Los Espirituds. She gets off Sol and hides her behind some bushes. "Stay here, Sol. I'll be right back" she whispers to her, stroking her mane.
"Where is it?" she huffs as she continues to scramble through every document and paper on the desk but still couldn't find what she was looking for.
"Looking for this, Mi Doña?" she heard a voice
Julieta gasps and turns in a flash and sees her worst nightmare standing a few feet away from her. El Zorro was holding the folded deed in his hand. Julieta stays quiet; knowing that was exactly was she was looking for. She slowly reaches for her sword from her belt but he stops her
"I wouldn't do that if I were you. Drop your sword and the rest of your weapons or else" he demands
"Or else what?" she scoffs, laughing
Suddenly, Gnoméo pulls a lever and the entrance of the cave was starting to close and the candles were being put out as the 2 outlaws get locked in. But to make things worse, all the lights of the cave put out until it was pitch black. Julieta was nervous but kept her guard up in case he tries to attack her. She holds her sword up high until the candle holders light up with fire one by one and she finds herself standing in the center of what fighters call "The Training Circle". She was a bit confused as she heard footsteps coming toward her. El Zorro stood behind her, smirking at her.
"Bienvenida to my home, Doña Barbara" he greeted, walking toward her.
"Bonito place you got here. I admire your decoration" she smirks, lowering her sword a little.
"Gracias" he thanks
"The only thing I don't like is being locked up with an outlaw"
"You're an outlaw yourself, so we're the same"
"You and I are not the same"
"Of course, we are. I steal from you, you steal from me, we fight for the town and we have the same enemies"
"How you know I was coming here?"
"I have my ways too, but mine don't involve shooting anybody"
"It's either my life or yours, Zorro"
"And to think I am the only one who steals things they don't belong too"
"What do you mean?" her eyes widen in shock
"You tried to steal the deed from me again, Hermosa?"
"I recall saying this wasn't over"
"Have you missed me?" he asked, smirking
"Not since the incident" she glares, angrily
"Oh. You mean our beso?" (kiss) he flirts but it made her angrier
"Never mention that again!" she growls, putting her sword under his chin
"Why? Does it bother you?" he flirts again as his stroke her cheek, making her close her eyes by his pleasure. She was melting by his touch but kept her confuse on what she came here for "I didn't came here to be seduced, Zorro. I want and need what you have"
"I know but the question is why you want is so badly?"
"That's none of your business. I just need it, that's all"
"Tell me or I will not think of it twice to take you to Rojillo's men to get you arrested" he threatens but she wasn´t worried.
"You can't do that" she scoffs.
"Por qué no?" he asks (why not)
"Por qué then you'll get arrested"
"Point taken. But that doesn't change my mind on killing you on how you almost tried to kill me" he said, taking out his gun and point at her but she still wasn´t worried.
"Go ahead. Do it. I am not afraid of you or la muerte(death)"she said bravely
"It would be a shame. Because other than your intelligence and cunning, you have breath-taking beauty and a lovely body" he flirts as he passed his gun down her body, making her tremble by his touch again.
"Get your hands off me" she whispers in a mad tone
"Not until you tell me"
"NEVER!"
"I'm trying to be a gentleman here but you're driving my patience"
"Good. Maybe that'll be a lesson to not mess with me"
"It's funny because that's exactly what I want. I want to see how far your anger and strength can last until you finally break"
"You can try all you want but I will never tell. Even if you put of gun on my head, or you torture me or even seduce me, I still wouldn't tell you"
"Why do you hate me so much?"
"Because you always get in my way, in the way of mis planes"
"Wow, you're obsessed! You're in so much pain. You're filled with anger"
"You're wrong; I'm more ponderosa than you think"
"I hate you so much, Zorro or should I say Gnoméo Celeste"
"I see you discovered my true identidad, (identity) Doña Barbara. Or should I say, Srta. Julieta Rojillo"
Her eyes widen in shock but she stays strong to not back down "I'm not afraid of you, Zorro. What are you going to do? Tell mi padre I'm one of the criminals he wants arrested"
"How funny things are. His own hija is going behind his back and doing things he wouldn't approve. You are a very mala girl"
"I had to do it. I swore to mi madre I will protect this town from scums like him and the others"
"I had the honour to meet la señora Mariana; she was a real jewel to the town, just like her hija too"
"I didn't ask for a compliment"
Then he leans closer to her face, getting her nervous "You like having me this close to you?" he asks, smirking.
"You're despicable" she whispers, denying it. She was drawn to him and she liked it
"Not even like this?" he pulls her by her waist, trapping her in his arms but the strangest thing is that she didn't resist.
"Don't fool yourself, Zorro. I want nothing to do with you. it brings out the anger and hate I have in me"
"I highly doubt it's toward me"
"Don't be so sure about that"
"Come on, what does it cost you to tell me your little secret with that deep?"
"What do you want from me, Zorro?"
"Besides to tell me your secret, I want more from you than you imagine"
"Ok, on The Celestes deed it says something about the lands of "La Dorada" where they belonged to Don Enrique Carrasco, mi abuelo (grandfather)When he passed away, he left those lands for my mother and she passed them on to me. But I found out Los Guerras want my lands and if I don't have the deed, I'll lose them"
"So, you need the deed to keep your lands"
"Si, but when Don Rojillo found out it belongs to Los Celestes, he will stop at nothing to begin that demolition. Not he just the Celestes he wants to destroy, also my lands and fields and everything that belongs to me!"
"Now it's a clear to me. It's not your hate toward me; it's toward Rojillo's. You're capable of going against anyone into getting what you want"
"Si, even you. That's why I need that deed"
"As much as I like to help you, but I can't. This is the only evidence to prove Los Celestes are the rightful owners of those mines"
"I will lose my lands if you don't give my that deed"
"Sorry, but no can do"
"If you don't give me the deed for las buenas, (good way) I'll have to get for las malas!" (bad way)
"You fight well for a girl!" he teased, playfully
"What's that suppose to mean?" she growls, angry
"It means you are the first mujer (woman) I ever fought!"
"And I will be the first to destroy you!"
"Where did you learn how to fight this well, preciosa?" (beautiful)
"That is not of your business, Zorrito. What you should be asking yourself is how you are getting out of this one"
"I'm not because I have you here trapped by me. And I like it a lot"
"Si but not for long!"
"Go ahead, dispara. See if you have the guts to kill me
"Where are trying to get with me, Zorro? Why do you keep seducing me like if you want something with me?"
"You're right, I do want something but I'm not sure if it's worth it"
"What do you mean?"
"You are worst than the demons, Doña Barbara"
"And you? You're not a saint either, Zorro"
"But there is something about you that I find irresistible" he flirts, making her sick
"Alright Zorro I'm threw messing around with you I want that deed back NOW!" she said serious but he didn't listen.
"Why Barbara how nice to see you again, Come for another kiss I suppose" he flirts
"Not this time you are not going to get me again!" she said with confidence.
"Oh what! Didn't you enjoy our last little encounter!" he said, eyeing her suavely, admiring her body.
"Not exactly! I let you have that one but this time I've got the upper hand on you!" she strokes with her sword but he blocks her with his sword and pulls her close to him.
"Hmm! I like a girl with fire in her heart, especially in sus ojos. (her eyes) So much more you can expect from them. He touched her chin, making her nervous.
"Stop flirting with me it worked once but it won't work again!" she slapped him away, angry.
"Are you sure! I have that kind of power on girls! I have no doubt you're the same" he smirks
"Not this girl! I let my guard down on you before but now I'm onto your little tricks again" she pushed him away as they sword fight again
Then Zorro gets closer to her which made her step back from him "Do you? Do you really?! Because I am very unpredictable!" he winked at her.
"Stay away from me!" she steps back even further away, staying alert in her fighting position.
"Or what? You'll slice my neck off? You've said that before and yet here I am"
"I let you go that time. It would've been too easy to kill you on my first try"
"Are you sure it's not because you find me intriguing!? The same why I find you intriguing?" he smirks, seductively.
"Stop wasting my time flirting, Zorro and give me what I want!"
"Not 'till you tell me why you were sneaking around in my lair in the 1st place"
"You know I want that deed back now! And you're going to give it to me"
"But how did you know it was here anyway?"
"I know who you really are?" she smirks evilly as his eyes widen in shock and anger
"Imposible! No one knows my true self!"
"I do! And NOW I WANT THAT DEED!" she swings her sword at him but he blocks it, having her face a few inches from her's. She was nervous, breathing heavily
"You want it come and get it! Fight me for it" he smirks, feeling his breath on her face but she snaps back and pushes herself away from him with her sword up again.
"With pleasure!" she smirks, evilly.
They begin to swing their swords at each other with anger but then Zorro turns on the music to give it a romantic fighting sense. He and Barbra continue to swing their swords until Barbra slashed his sword from his hand and in return Zorro swipes hers away, Then it goes into the hand to hand fighting thing, but the way they fight and block each other made it look like they were dancing together. With an unexpected move, El Zorro grabs his trust whip from the table and throws it at Julieta as it wrap around her waist. He pulls and Julieta span right into his arms as a gasp/shriek escaped her. She struggles to break free but he holds her tight in his embrace. What was strange is that she liked it and didn't want him to let her go.
"You fight like a pro but dance like an angel" he smirks as he strokes her cheek.
"I will end you! Do you not see the Fuego en mi Corazon" (fire in my heart) she whispers, furious.
"That is not fire; it is the burning of love..." He takes her hand and dips her in his arms and another shriek escaped her. "...For me" He winks at her. She stays silent for a moment, getting lost in his ojos azules (blue eyes) but remembers what was happening.
"I do not love you and I never will. You can't make me love you!" she growls.
"I don't have to make you love me...you know you do already!"
Julieta pulls herself from his arms as she back flips away from him. She quickly pulls out a gun that was kept strapped on her back under her shirt. She aims at him, breathing fast in anger.
"THE DEED...POR FAVOR...BEFORE I LOSE MY PATIENCE!" she yelled Enraged, getting ready to shoot.
"You're so dangerous when you get mad" he says, getting her even angrier.
"I had enough of your little jueguito (game), Zorro. We can do this the easy way or my vote THE HARD AND PAINFUL way" she pulls out 2 knives from her belt, wanting to fight again.
"Do you really want the deed...or do you want this!" in the speed of flash, He pins her to the wall, leans in and kissed her hard. To his surprise, she kisses him back with the same force. She wraps her arms around his neck and his around her waist.
"I am through with this that deed is coming with me one way or another!" And then they have this whole fight where they wrestling around and sling their swords to each other heads.
"You look so bella (beautiful) when you fight"
"Flattery does nothing for me; I'm still going to kill you" she whispers, lying once again.
"You said that when we started this and you still haven't succeeded. Good luck with that."
He moved quickly to avoid her sword as she continues to try and stab him but only was able to rib his shirt and leave a few scratches. She was quick with her sword as he back away, trying to block her every move but she was quite impressive. With a quick move, Julieta makes Gnoméo trip as he fell to the ground and she puts her sword under his chin as he looks up at her, seeing that sparkle and fire in her eyes. "It's going to be such a shame to ruin such a pretty face" she glares but then realizes what she just said. (A/N: OOPS!)
"You think I have a pretty face?" he asks, surprised but smiles at her.
"Did I say that? I did not" she backs away from him. She slowly back walks to the table where the deed is and grabs and puts it in her back pocket without him noticing.
"You know you did. You are in love with me, Doña Barbara" he eyes her as she keeps backing away from him.
"I am not! I absolutely detest you!" she lies as he got closer to her
"I don't see why we can't be friends"
"Because we're enemies"
"You and I both know we're more than that, even more than just 2 outlaws. We're secret lovers" he holds her hand but she pulls away.
"Stop talking estupideces, Zorro" she says, even though he was right.
"No. I am in love with you, and I'm not going to kill you, but if you are coming at me, I am going to have to defend myself" He holds his sword up again, seeing how shock and confused Julieta was.
"You're in love...with me..?" she manages to say, in shock.
He nods "Unfortunately, you don't seem to feel the same way about me" he says, disappointed.
"You're right." She says, but he didn't believe her.
"I really don't want to have to do this but you leave me no choice.."
"Oh please, I could defend you from me all day."
"No, this." Gnoméo drops his sword on purpose which confused Julieta as she lowers hers. He acts fast and kisses her on the lips, making her go in shock. She kisses him back, then pulls away in a half-scream but stayed still in his arms. "You're so beautiful" he whispers as he kisses her again as she still with her eyes closed, letting him kiss her neck and her checks.
"You are despicable!" she whispers
"Well, so are you, but somehow, I cannot keep my eyes off you" he whispers back as he kept stroking her face and her hair.
"I'm going to kill you."
"You keep saying that, yet somehow I don't believe you. Why do you keep resisting me, mi reina?" (my queen)
"Because there is no way this could ever work between us. I'm doing the both of us a favor"
"You seem so fearless, but I think you are afraid of love."
"I am not! I'm not afraid of nada (nothing) not even something as stupid as love" she puts away her sword and her weapons back in her belt and he gets closer to her.
"If you're not afraid... Then, kiss me" he whispers, pulling her closer to his body.
"What? No!" she yells in a whisper
"If you won't do it, I'll have to-" but he gets cut off
Suddenly, she swoops in and kisses him lightly on the lips. He slowly wraps his arms around her as she places her hands on both sides of his face, letting all the love she has been keeping inside her for a long time finally out. Soon she finally pulls away but doesn't stop staring at him in love.
"That was..." she starts
"Amazing." He finishes, still staring at her and stroking her face, leaning for another kiss but she pulls away. She manages to catch him off guard and knock him off his feet, putting her sword back under his chin with a glare.
"I'm not afraid of love, and I'm not afraid to kill you" she glares down at him
"But that was so..." he smirks
"Please...why do you have be like this?" she slightly whines
"Like what?" he smirks
"So handsome." She says, mesmerized but snaps back to reality. She can't believe she said that. She backs away from him, slightly scared and confused as he gets back on his feet "I have to go now"
"What did you call me?" he asks, like he didn't hear her.
"Handsome" she says, mesmerized by him
"I knew it! No denying it now!" he laughs
"Please! Just go! I never want to see you again!"
"First of all, this is my home. And 2nd, you can't hide forever."
"I...I...I'm scared."
"You? Of what?"
"Not by being in love, of what's going to happen if I fall in love with you! You'll get caught or killed whether as Julieta or Doña Barbara and I'll be left alone!"
" I would never do that to you"
"You cannot promise me anything"
"I can promise to love you every day, together or apart"
"Gnoméo..."
He holds her by her shoulders, wanting to kiss her "Please, don't do this to me, mi Doña, I love you. Té amo, Julieta" he holds her closer as he closes his eyes and she did too.
"And..I ...I ...l" she struggles to say
"What? You what?"
"I think I love you too!" she confesses as her breath got shaking
"Then, if I asked you to see me again, would you agree?" he asks with a smile.
"That's impossible. Nobody knows I'm Doña Barbara. You can't be seen in public as Zorro, and we can't be seen together as Rojillo and Celeste."
"I know places no one will find us"
"We are both going to end up dead or heartbroken over this"
"You never know until you try. Please, Julieta I am a good man"
"I know you are, and that's one of the things I can't stand about you"
"You're not so good yourself, & I love that about you" he kisses her again but she pulls away. She walks away from him but turns back with a sneaky smirk at him.
"I'm leaving and I'm taking this with me" she holds the deed up and she runs toward the exit.
Furious on her escape with the deed, Gnoméo grabs his best rifles, loads it with bullets and aims as Julieta. He starts shooting but he keeps missing her she did back flips and summersaults. As she kept flipping, she reaches the lever and the entrance opens again. She runs off as she shoots El Zorro for shooting her but she misses as she runs off on her horse. El Zorro chases after her but stops with his rifle up. He had a perfect aim of her but he didn't shoot. He chuckles as he lowers the rifle down, knowing he couldn't do it.
"No... You're too beautiful to shoot. But I will get back at you and then I will make you mine, you like it or not" he smirks evilly as he watches her rides into the swamp, knowing under that hard core of feistiness, she loved him the same way he loved her.
