8. Trapped In The Flames Of Love (Literally)
It was in the late hours of the night, the crickets chipping and the swamp animals chattering close by. And El Zorro was tied up ad locked in an old abandon barn near the swamp. He didn´t know how he got there or how to escape but he had a pretty good idea of who could have done this to him.
"JULIETA! DOÑA BARBARA! Where are you?! SHOW YOUSELF TO ME!" he yelled in anger, struggling to break free but no avail.
Juliet soon walks in with a nasty glare on her face toward him. She takes the cigar out of her mouth and blows the smoke in his face, making him cough.
"I warned you, Zorro. I warned you and you didn't listen to me and now I'm here to complete my threat" she growls which made him a little nervous because she knew what she mean by "threat". She finally was going to kill him for good.
"Forgive me, Julieta. I know I don't deserve your mercy but what I did if the good of the town. I did it to protect them" he stated, bravely.
"You betray me. And I never forgive a betrayal, which is something you will pay with your life"
"I will accept whatever you have planned for me but this is your last chance to escape. Rojillo is coming for you and you will end up in jail" he warns, wanting to save her life. But her hard core attitude prevents her from listening to her.
"That is something I plan on doing after I finally get rid of you" she turns and walks away from him.
"I beg you, Julieta. Please, don't kill me!" he calls to her
"You know I can't please you with that. You're going to die, Zorro. At least the town will remember you for what you were"
"You mean a hero?"
"No, as a traitor"
"You know if you kill me, they will hate you and go after you"
"They will never know. I have my ways on hiding my secrets" she smirks evilly, smoking on her cigar again.
"Barbara, please stop this and think about what you're doing. Look at what you're doing, this is a monstrosity"
Julieta lights up another cigar and blows the smoke away "I told you, Gnoméo, I will end you. Plus, why does this surprise you? You always told me I was a monster to you. So, here you have me right here, as I am. And I will promise you the worst death to the human being"
"Por favor, Julieta, where is that nice feisty girl I knew and loved? Because now I see is a heartless creature that is capable of doing horrible things"
"She's muerta. Julieta Isabel Rojillo is buried real good as Doña Barbara will live on and rule this town, more powerful and eviler than ever"
"Then if you're going to kill me. Do it quick. Shoot me with your gun but don't give me what you have for me, please. It's horrible!" he begged but she still didn´t listen.
"Horrible? You´re right, that is horrible. Like how you decided to be alley to my own padre and hand me in to him like if I was a trophy, remember? I trusted you, I told you mi secreto, I kept yours locked like a tomb but it's like you never listen to me. I guess that's life. And now I'm deaf & blind... for odio for you" she growl in a scary evil tone.
"No. You won't do it because I know deep down inside you, you're better than me. You can't do this to me; I know you love me as much as I love you even despite your anger and wickedness. If you kill me, you'll never be able to live with this..." she then cuts him off by putting a tape over his mouth to shut him up. He complains thru the tape to let him go but she ignores his cries of mercy.
She takes off the cigar off her mouth and speaks. "Ay, Zorro... I am incapable to feel anything but amor. And I am worst than you. And I am not Julieta Isabel Rojillo, she is way dead. I am Doña Barbara, la reina(queen) and patrona (patroness) of San Verona and all these lands. I am worst than the demon. I am the revenge in person. Don't you forget that" she glares with pure anger & evilness and smoke on her cigarette. Julieta muffles his mouth shut and then starts throwing gasoline all over where he was standing. For the final touch, she lights up a match and drops it as the flames of fires go down the trail of gasoline as El Zorro screamed in pain as the flames burn his flesh.
Julieta turns away from him with an evil glare on her face as she listens to his screams. "How does el infierno (the hell) feel like, Zorro?!" she asked, screaming, still having her back turn at him and feeling the heat of the flames behind her. She could hear his loud screams. "Horrible, right? Well, that's the way I felt when you betray me and hurt in the worst possible way! Buen viaje, (good trip) Gnoméo Claudio Celeste!" she dips goodbye and smokes on her cigarette, not feeling any regret as she continues to hear his screams as he slowly died by the burning flames.
Julieta's POV
"NO! ZORRO, NOOO!" I screamed as I stir, trying to wake up
"GNOMÉO! MI AMOR! NO!" I gasped in horror by that horrible nightmare! I never imagine killing anybody in that cruel way. And less to El Zorro. I admit I have a cruel attitude and never have mercy on anybody when somebody betrays me but to get to that level of cruelness, that's not me. As I gasp from breath to calm down, I then realize I screamed "Mi amor", did I really say that? Why?! It was like if I was really saying I to him? But that's insane because I don't love him. And even if I did, I would never kill anyone like that, that Doña Barbara was a monster of what I could become if I keep up this act of bad outlaw.
I look out my window and it was still dark out and I was in my bedroom at my father's palace. So I rest my head on I almohada as I shut my eyes close. But I heard my lady, Nanette barging in my room, screaming which made me jump. She was wearing her nightgown with a robe and she looked very nervous and scared.
"JULIETA! MI NIÑA! WAKE UP!"
"QUE, NANETTE! What's happening!?" I ask, concern while getting out of my bed to calm her down.
"La Dorada" is set on fire!" she yelled, panicking
"What?! I have to go over there!"
Julieta wasted no time in getting dress into her Doña Barbara clothes with her weapons and quickly heads down to the staples and rides off on her horse. "Vamos, Sol! Go, girl! We're almost there!" she encourage, riding at fast as the wind thru the fields but since it was still night time, it was a little hard to see in the dark. From a distance she could see smoke and bright yellow light and it wasn't exactly the sun rising up, it worried her a lot. She sees her 2nd and best home on fire as the flames destroyed all her belongings. Her men hurried with buckets filled, trying to the fire down but it was very difficult.
Julieta gets off her horse and runs toward them "What happened, muchachos?!" she asked, panicking
"Doña! We don't know what happened? Everything was fine until this fire rose up" Indio said as the others continue to put out the fire. Julieta was about to join them but notices somebody special to her was missing.
"Where's Juan Primito?" she asks nervous but they stay silent, not knowing where he was.
Terrified, Julieta turns over to her burning ranch and she starts to hear a soft cry for help. She recognized that voice anywhere. She took action in her own hands and ran toward the other side of the house where the fire haven't reach yet with Indio behind her to help. La Doña climbs through the window as did Indio as they avoid all the flames and the smoke.
"JUAN PRIMITO! WHERE ARE YOU?! JUAN PRIMITO!" she calls, desperately.
"Mi Doña? Mi Doña is that you?" she hears his voice.
"Si, where are you, mi bobo?" she calls back
"I'm here, Mi Doña! AQUI! OVER HERE!" he calls back, coughing. His voice was coming from his room
"Stay there! I'm coming to get you!" she calls back
Julieta makes it down the hall where there are several rooms where her men sleep. The fire was getting close and they needed to hurry. Julieta was able to get some wet blankets so the fire can't affect them. With the blankets over their heads, they make it to Juan Primito's room but the door was locked! Julieta jiggles the door knob and tries to break down the door but no avail.
"Stand back, Mi Doña" Indio says and he breaks down the door with his Indian strength. Julieta runs in the room and finds Juan Primito on the floor, unconscious.
"Juan Primito, mi bobo! Wake up! I'm here! Hang in there! We'll get you out of here!" she says, trying to get him to stand up. "Indio, carry him" she orders.
"Si, Doña" Indio throws the unconscious Juan Primito over his shoulders as he carried him out the floor which the flames was starting to get too. Julieta puts an extra blanket over Juan Primito to protect him from the flames and she follows behind to the exit. But suddenly, a large piece of wood on fire falls from the ceiling and blocks her way!
"MI DOÑA!" Indio cried, worried for his boss
"No, don't worry about me, Indio. Just take Juan Primito out of here and I'll manage to get out. JUST GO!"
Julieta looks around and finds Juan Primito's hunting spear and uses it to push away the wood pole fout of her way. As she runs from the flames, she ducks under the smoke and any piece of furniture on fire. She coughs from all the gray/black smoke, there was just too much and she couldn't see where she was going. She was getting weak as her legs went limp, falling on her knees and crawling to the nearest exit. Not able to keep up any longer, Julieta falls to the floor, losing strength and consciousness, without anybody knowing she was trapped inside.
Back outside her men very still trying to put out the fire and they soon see Indio, carrying Juan Primito over his shoulder. "Muchachos, help me with el bobo. We need un doctor" El Indio cried as he set the unconscious Juan Primito on the ground. and they noticed that their boss wasn't with them.
"Indio, where's La Doña?" they asked but Indio stayed silent as they all look back at the burning ranch house, worried that their boss was still inside.
Trapped inside her ranch house, Julieta laid unconscious on the floor as the flames were coming fast toward her body. The poor girl was slowly dying by lack of oxygen and about to be burn by the close flames. Suddenly, a strange black figure appeared in front of her. He got down on her knees and turn her face to face him, she was still out-cold. The strange pulls down her mask, revealing her beautiful face to him. He picks her up from the ground and carried her limp body bride style. He acted fast as the flames were getting closer and part of the ceiling was falling apart. The mysterious man just out a glass window, without getting cut him or her, finding himself near the stables. He sees his horse and hops on him with the girl in his arms, holding tight on her so she wouldn't fall off but she was still unconscious. The black figure rides through the darkest part swamp with the moon being his only light through it to see all the dangerous animals.
Soon he makes it to the river with some majestic waterfalls very close to the edge. (A/N: It was the same sacred place and waterfall/river from chapter 3#) He gets off his horse as he carried Julieta and sets her done gently on the sand, still unconscious. Her stage was more serious than he thought. He pulls out a bottle of water and some bandages to heal the wounds she got in the fire. Then he dips a rag into the water where they say it was healing water. He places the rag over her head as he continues to cure her wounds. It was a few moments later, Julieta starts breathing softly and stirring in her sleep. He moves over to her as she struggled to open her eyes. She groans by the pain and squints her eyes, looking up at a dark fire shaped as a man with red evil eyes. He looked pretty scary to her but she wasn't scared. She was much too weak to react in fear at the dark figure.
"Where am I?" she asks, weakly, taking in small breaths
"You're safe in Las Cascadas" (waterfalls)he says, softly
"Quien... Who are you?" she asks, slightly afraid of him
"I'm your guardian angel, Doña Barbara" he whispers, smiling down at her
His last words were a blur to her because she started to doze off again, fainting in place. The mysterious man wasn't worried, he knew she was ok but was still concern for her safety and health.
"You are the love of mi vida, Julieta. And I will always be there to protect you, despite your outlaw name" he lays a sweet kiss on his lips and on her forehead before he runs off on his horse, leaving the poor half-dead girl alone in the middle of the dangerous swamp, where she can be killed by dangerous animals but the light of the moon shinned on her like if it was protecting her from the danger.
(Next morning, "La Dorada")
Julieta's POV
My head hurts as it spins around with memories of last night. The last thing I remember was a strange dark figure saving me from my death. The smell of burned and smoke was waking me up. I squint my eyes of see the blue sky of daylight. I push myself up to find myself resting on hammock as I rub my head from the large headache. I look around and I was still in my Doña Barbara clothes but my mask was gone and my face was showing but I didn't worry, I had plenty more of those.
"Muchachos, she's awake!" I hear one of my men's voices.
"Qué? What happened?" I ask weakly as they help me stand up on my feet.
"You were on the edge of la muerte, mi Doña. But you were saved by a guardian angel" Lucho said
"We found you near las cascadas and we brought you here" Indio said next
Then I remember something "And Juan Primito?" I asked, desperately, looking for him
"Here I am, mi Doña. Juan Primito is very glad you are alright, senorita and he thanks you for saving his life" he walks toward me. he had his head bandaged and a broken left arm but other than that he was fine and I smile in relief.
"You know you're like familia (family) to me, Juan Primito" she hugs him tight and then looks at Indio "How bad is it, Indio?" she asks him, concern of her destroyed ranch.
"Mi Doña, we were able to put it out but the damages are very grave" he assures me and it worried me.
"I want to see it" I say, regaining my strength back
"Alright, Doña" they nodded and they took her to ht e front of the ranch where they was a horrible sight. The walls had burn ashes, the furniture was
"Ay Dios mio (Oh, my God) it's ruined" I gasp, nearly crying
"What do you want us to do, Doña?" Lucho asks her
"Try to find anything that was saved. Food, water, weapons, anything you can find. I will replace any of your items if it's necessary to get mi ranchera like how it was" she states
"Well, you heard her orders, men. Let's get to it!" Indio cries and they go inside as Julieta stayed behind to think of how she's going to get all this fixed and how to pay her men for this month and everything else she needs. Her thoughts were soon interrupted by Juan Primito.
"Oye, Doña, what's going to happen to all of us while the ranch is being built again? Where are we going to live?"
"I'm not sure, Juan Primito. But for now, try to find most of your things. I will but you all new clothes and anything you need" I pat his shoulder and he smiles but then frowns as he looks down at the ground.
"Hey, Doña. What's that?" he points to something in the grass. Julieta bends down and pulls out a piece of paper and it had writing. As Julieta reads it, a growl of anger boil inside her. "I told you, you would pay. Now you have less time to pay your fee with my father & Don Rojillo. Enjoy sleeping en la calles, asquerosa" she throws the piece of paper to the ground and shoots it various of times, getting her men's attention from inside the ranch.
"What's wrong, Mi Doña?" Indio asked.
"Muchachos, get your guns up load and get your horses ready" she orders with a angry tone.
"Are we going to go shoot somebody, Doña?" they ask her, getting excited.
"We sure are, Leon. But first, I want to find out who had the intention of setting my ranchera on fire. And for that to happen, we're paying the richest man a little visita" she chuckles evilly, getting on her horse.
A few minutes later, riding on their horses, Julieta goes to town to make a little visit to the town´s mayor, Don Fernando Guerra. He was her father´s best business partner and the father of her worst enemiga, Antonia Guerra. The town was always so peaceful to her but it also breaks her heart to see a lot of people struggling to survive this town where their own leaders rob them for self reasons. And what she will do today, it's for the good of her people. They stop at the center of the town, near the church. Julieta was wearing her mask so it wasn't a problem if many people recognize her as La Doña Barbara. The people went up to her to thank her for everything she does for them and she smiled at them with a warm heart. Even the children were giving her small gifts like flowers and thank you notes. And for return, she gives them candy and treats from her backpack. She always loved seeing the happy smile on her people's faces. She continues to walk thru the town until she makes it to a large building near the church know as City Hall.
Inside city hall, a tall man with a dark moustache and beard in n elegant business suit was in his office, doing some paperwork while blowing on his large cigar, his name was Don Fernando Guerra. Soon his work gets interrupted by his secretary calling him from the front desk.
"Sr. Fernando, you have a visitor" said his secretary, Maria from outside, in a slightly nervous tone
"Tell them to come another time" Don Fernando, uninterested.
"Trust me, sir. You would want to see this person" Maria said, with a slightly nervous tone.
"I told you I don't want to see anybody, Maria" he said uninterested again.
"Well, you're seeing me you want it or not" Doña Barbara stated as she barged in his office, giving him quite a surprise. She glares at the mayor as her men came in with the secreatry as they held a gun pointed at her.
"Vaya, vaya, vaya, so the legend is true, Doña Barbara in person!" he gaze at her beauty, surprised the famous female outlaw was in his office. She even more lovely in person than in her WANTED poster, he thought.
"Buenos Dias, Sr. Fernando" she came in his office. Julieta then snaps her fingers at her men, giving them the order to let go the secretary and they did what they were told.
"I'm sorry, señor, but the they were threatening me with a gun" the secretary said, slightly scared.
"No, no, it's alright. What a pleasure to have a legenda in mi oficina. Por favor, sit" he holds up his hand to her.
"Gracias" she shakes him hand and sits on the chair cross him and puts her feet up on his desk.
"First off, I am dreadfully sorry for what happened to you last night" he apologizes, sitting down in his big chair.
"That's what I came to talk to you about. I came to ask you your help to re-build my ranch" she asked.
"Oh, really? Well, I hate to tell you but we can't do any contruction of any sort with having the deed "La Dorada"
"I have the deed right here" she pulls out the deed from her back pocket and places it on his desk
"I see" he takes the deed and reads it for a while
"So, do we have a deal?" she asks
"I'm afraid not, señorita. According to this deed, it's only valuable of one of the Celeste members sighs this deed. And it says with their signature, you don't own those lands. Besides, the lands of "La Dorada" belong to Don Rojillo's daughter, Srta. Julieta Isabel Rojillo. It seems to me, you stole this deed and trying to make those lands in your name"
"That's imposible! Mi abuelo heir those lands to mi madre and she passed them to me. Are you accusing me of stealing?"
"I don't recall anything like that. And why shouldn't I believe you didn't steal them. You are the 1# female outlaw on my WANTED list" he snaps, making her angry
Julieta then bangs hard on his desk in anger "Listen, cabeza de huevo! I have duty to this duty to protect these people from basura like you and Rojillo" she yelled, getting up from her seat.
"Careful with how you speak to me because I can imprision you any time I want!" he threats but she didn't take him seriously.
"O si, well I like to see you try. And get this in your head; nobody is going to kick me out of my own ranchera. Muchachos, let's go, we're leaving this ratonera" (rat hole)she turns to leave but he stops her.
"Mark my words, Doña Barbara; I will have you behind bars, along with El Zorro!"
"There is no comparacion (comparation) between me and that idiot of Zorro. So, buenas tardes, Don Fernando" she tips her hat to him but Don Fernando was furious as she leaves his office.
Furious, Julieta slams the door with BANG! Leaving the building with an angry glare. She and her men return to her ranch were the rest of them were cleaning up what was burn and saving what was not burn. It hurt her heart to see her best home destroyed but she knew how to fix it.
"How much was saved?" she asked, looking around her ruined ranch house.
"Not mucho, the walls are all stained with ashes and most of the furniture was burn"
"And the weapons?"
"They were saved. Good thing el fuego (fire) didn't reach the gun powder or the entire field would be in flames" Indio said
"Take all the gun powder outside and lock it in the shed" she orders as her men carry the boxes to the back of the ranch.
Julieta stays there and carefully observes Leon. He was counting a big load of money which was strange because she hasn't paid any of her men this month. Something seem strange to her? She even had a feeling Leon had something do with the incident of her ranch. And to think of it, he wasn't even here last night to help put out the fire.
"Leon!" she called to him
"Si, Mi Doña" he came toward her.
"May I ask you something? Where were you when mi ranchera was on fire?" she asked, eyeing him.
"Well, you see, Doña... I was out getting a drink?" he said, nervously but she didn't believe him.
"Really? With what money, Leon? Because if I recall, I haven't paid you or any of guys for this month yet. Or isn't that right, muchachos?" she ask them and they agree in union.
"Well, you see..." but before Leon can finish, a box of matches fell out of his pocket in front of Julieta;'s feet. She was now connived it was him!
"It was you; you were the one who set mi ranchera on fire" Julieta snaps her fingers and her men grabs Leon tight to not escape as she glares at him in anger.
"Sorry, Leon, you messed with our patrona and know she´ll make you pay the price" Lucho said to Leon and Indio nods
"Doña! I swear that I didn't do it!" he pleaded
"Tell me who sent you to set mi ranchera on fire?" she asked with a low tone, putting her knife under his neck.
"I swear, Doña Barbara. I know nothing"
"You perfectly know nobody betrays me. And I know you're the one who knows whose behind all this. It's was Rojillo, right? It was him who hired you, maldito? The one who wanted me dead before you even arrived here, right?
"I know nothing, Mi Doña! Please, let me go!" he pleaded again, nearly crying.
"Who are you working for!?" she screamed in his face.
"EL ZORRO! IT WAS HIM! He paid me to destroy "La Dorada"; it was his way of revenge for stealing Los Celeste's deed. IT WAS ALL HIM!" he cried and they let him go as Julieta froze in place by hearing his name.
"That miserable scum, he has gone too far with me. Now he's going to see my dark side"
"Do you want us to eliminate him for you, Mi Doña?" Indio asked, holding up his gun
"No. This is something between me and him. I will take care of El Zorro myself. But I want you boys to throw this escoria (something cursed) to the alligators. So, they can devour his damn body" she pointed at Leon with a glare.
"No, please, Doña Barbara, I have been loyal to you!" he begged on his knees to her.
"You ask mercy? You ask compassion after siding with mi enemigo? No Leon, you perfectly I never forgive a betrayal and you will pay, you suffer like the animal you are. Have a nice trip to el infierno"
"No, Mi Doña, please!"
"Muchachos, do your thing. And may this be a message to you about betraying me"
"Like you say, mi Doña"
"Wait, Doña Barbara, I have some information you want to hear" he pleaded and it caught Julieta's attention.
"Let him go, muchachos" her men let him go and she looked at him with a glare to listen what he had to say "Start talking, Leon. Mi paciencia is very low"
"It's about your madre"
"I hope you're not lying to me because if you are... let's say you'll never see that light of day ever again"
"I understand. But I'm worth live and then dead to you. Please, give me one more chance to prove myself to you"
"You have 1 minuto to start talking, Mi madre died many years ago. She was the past leader of this town and I followed in her footsteps"
"Si, but there is something you don't know. La Sra. Marina was a prisoner of 4 horrible men that ruler this town years ago"
"Tell me something I don't know before I lose mi paciencia" she scoffs, putting her knife closer to his neck
"What you don't know is that one of those miserables is here in town"
"What are you saying, Leon?"
"I'm saying that one of them is here in town. I saw him drunk at the bar last night when I was getting paid"
"Are you trying to mess with me, Leon? You do know mi madre died by those men; they made her life a misery. And I recall you used to work for them, why should I believe you?"
"Because I am the only one who can tell you where they are because I know them too well that they will come back to San Verona for you and try to steal all your fortuna!" he confesses and Julieta still listens with a nasty glare.
Suddenly, their conversation was interrupted when they heard yells and screams coming in the ranch, it was Juan Primito calling her which quickly got her full attention.
"Doña! Mi Doña! "
"What are those screams, Juan Primito? What's wrong?" she asks
"Outside, there are some men out there looking for you and there a muchos guards with them" he informs.
Julieta knew this was trouble so she puts on her hat and loads her gun up. "Muchachos, arm yourselves just in case this gets ugly" she orders and they load up their guns and rifles.
"What about me, Doña" Leon asks, slightly nervous as she glares at him
"Lock him in el closet while I come back. We will finish this later, Leon" she orders and Leon gets locked in the living room closet with lock and Lucho guardian the door as Julieta and the rest of them head outside to attend her "guests".
Outside, Don Fernando stood outside waiting for the patroness of these lands with some guards' ad very familiar man by his side. "Where is your boss, young man?" he asks Juan Primito
"La Doña will be out shortly, she´s just taking care of some importante business, sir" he informs, slightly nervous.
"Well, tell her Don Fernando & Don Rojillo are here to talk some business with her"
"What kind of business, señores?" Julieta asked, coming out of her ranch with her men following behind. She stops her pace once she saw her father next to Don Fernando. "Papá!" she gasps in her mind. It was a good thing she was wearing her mask or she could have been easily discovered but she still had to play cool and act she doesn't know this man.
"Buenas Tardes, señores" she greets with a fake smile.
"Buenas Tardes, Doña Barbara. You know me from earlier in town and my good amigo, Don Rojillo, el gobernador (governor) of San Verona" he introduced, like if Julieta didn't already knew who they were.
"A pleasure, Doña Barbara" Don Rojillo kisses her hand, making Julieta a little uncomfortable.
"The honor is mine, Don Rojillo. But Sr. Fernando weren't we going to negotiate this in your office later?"she asks.
"It was Don Rojillo's idea to come here and do business"
"Si, la visita will be here in "La Dorada", my dear" Rojillo buts in, eyeing her and it made her a bit nervous.
"Tell me, what do I have the honor to have the most powerful men in San Verona" she asks
"We're here to collect anything that survived from the fire and to inform you that you and your employees have 24 horas (hours) to evacuate this area" Rojillo said. Shocking Julieta and her men
"Wait, are you saying...?" she starts but he cuts her off.
"Si, we're here to take away your heir of these lands and all its riches" he states, making her furious.
"You can't do that! I have my rights and these lands are mine!" she yells in rage.
"Doña Barbara, these lands belong to my wife, may she rest in peace, who has heir them to mi hija, Julieta Isabel Rojillo. It says so right here on this deed and you have no rights to rule these lands or the mines of the forest. So, we ask you to leave immediately" he orders while holding the deed up.
Julieta was boiling in rage even though she was his daughter but her outlaw identity must a secret from him no matter what. "Listen, the only way you can kick me out of mi home is when I'm muerta. Because I am not leaving and neither are my men" she snatches the deed from his hand, making Rojillo boil in anger.
"ARREST HER!" he orders his men.
"DON'T TOUCH ME! NOBODY TOUCHES DOÑA BARBARA!" she screams in rage and breaks from their grip and eyes Rojillo again with anger in her. Her men were about to fight back but she stops then to not fight yet.
"TAKE HER AWAY!" he orders again
"Your men will soon know the kind of low man you are!" she threats with a growl.
"You don't threat me, mocosa. Because you are nothing but a spoiled brat!" he yells back as their insults become more violent, going back and forth between the unknown daughter and father.
"YOU'RE A THIEF! A MUERDER, ROJILLO! YOU LEAVE THESE POOR PEOPLE STARVING AND YOU TAKE OUT ANYBODY WHO IS UN ESTORBO (nuisance) TO YOU! LIKE ME AND MY MEN!"
"HOW DARE YOU ACUSE ME OF RIDICULOUS CRIMES! YOU WILL PAY!"
"Everybody will know!"
"CALLETE!" (shut up)
"I WILL NOT SHUT UP!"
"SHUT UP, MALDITA (damn) WITCH!"
"No, I will not shut! And everybody will know why you're in my ranch!" she punches him in the gut and runs off as her men protected her.
"SLUT! MALDITA!" he screams thru the pain in anger. "AFTER HER! DON'T LET HER ESCAPE!"
"VEN! COME, ASESINO (murder)! Tell everybody the kind of man you are!"
"SHUT UP!"
"Tell the kind filthy lieder you are who robs innocent people not just their money but their freedom too!"
"Grab her!" he orders and his guards grab her by her shoulders. Julieta stays silent with anger in her eyes, feeling brave to stand up to her father this way in order to protect her people and the ones she love and care about. Don Rojillo lowers his gun and walks toward her. he raise his fist and punches her in her face. Her nose started bleeding and her men prepare their guns to protect her but Rojillo acts fast by pointing his gun at Julieta.
"NO, ALL OF YOU STAY STILL OR I WILL SHOOT!" he threaths.
Then Julieta starts laughing "Ha, what's the matter, Rojillo? You feel man enough to abuse a woman? You think you're such un hombre (a man) because you can punch a woman?" she laughs, making him angrier.
"SHUT UP!"
"TELL THEM! TELL YOUR MEN! Tell them all the crimes you have committed"
"CALLATE!"
"NO! TELL THEM!" then she uses her knees to kick him where no man wants to be kicked. The guards let go of Julieta to help Rojillo as Julieta's men pull her back away from him to protect her.
"STAY WHERE YOU ARE!" Rojillo screams at them and they stay still. He walks back to Julieta and punched her in the stomach and she screams in pain.
"STOP IT! STOP IT! PLEASE! DON'T HURT MI DOÑA NO MORE!" Juan Primito cries, standing in front of Julieta to protect her.
"STAY OUT OF THIS, BOBO!" Rojillo yells as he pushes Juan Primito out of the way, making Julieta furious.
"LEAVE HIM ALONE! This is between you and me!" she yells at Rojillo and pulls Juan Primito up on his feet, worried about him "Juan Primito, go outside and wait for me with the horses ready" she says and he nods and runs off to do it.
Rojillo points his gun back at her, ready to shoot "You aren't going anywhere, salvaje!" (wild thing)
Rojillo tightens his grip around her and about to pull don her mask to reveal her true self to him. But suddenly, there was a gunshot heard from a distance, getting everybody's attention. They all look back to where the loud shot to see El Indio with his gun up high. He walks closer to Rojillo, who quickly aims his gun at Indio but the Indian puts his Indian knife under his neck, protecting his boss and the others. Julieta knew she needed to win this battle but not like this where her men can get killed. And even though Rojillo was a cruel man, he was still her father but that didn't mean she couldn't go without punishing him for his crimes and abusing her.
"You men chase for criminals? HAVE YOU SEEN ONE AROUND HERE?! NO!" she screamed, wiping off some of the blood from her nose with a nasty glare.
"You are under arrest for accusing the governor of grave crimes he didn't commit!" Don Fernando orders.
"GET OUT OF MY RANCH & NEVER COME BACK! I don't hide criminals like you do. And when you do find them, I hope you'll be the "macho" man you were with me, miserable" she growls, pointing to her bad bruises and wounds on her face he gave her.
"Stay away from La Doña, miserable" Indio growls softly with evil eyes.
"She will be in behind bars for the rest of her life, along with El Zorro!" Rojillo yells
"I suggest you run, Mi Doña. This might get feo" Lucho whispers to her and she nods,
"Let's go, Juan Primito. Good day, gentlemen" she bids goodbye and starts to walk away with Juan Primito but the guards stop her.
"No! You're not going anywhere, maldita!" Rojillo cried, pointing his gun at her.
"Corre, mi doña! CORRE!" her men cry to run.
Julieta was nervous and bit scared which was strange since she never feels fear but the safety of her loyalist men were on the line here. But she knew they can handle themselves so she runs off on her horse as Rojillo's soldiers go after her. She runs with Juan Primito to the back of the ranch to staples where she pulls her horse and a horse for Juan Primito with a backpack filled with food, clothes and everything he needs.
"Come on, Juan Primito, this way!" she takes him outside with the horses.
"Where are we going, Doña?" Juan Primito asked, crying with fear, hearing the gun shots.4
"Not we, Juan Primito. I want to go and hide in Padre Featherstone's church; I send him a message to let you stay there until "La Dorada" is all fixed. Tell him I send you and I will go get you when I can. And don't worry; everything is going to be fine, I promise" she says calmly as he gets on his horse but he looks at her with sad eyes.
"And what about you, Mi Doña? Juan Primito doesn't want anything to happen to you. You are all the family I have" he says crying while getting on his horse.
"Nothing is going to happen to me, mi bobo. I will come back for you, I promise. But until then, take this knife just in case you need it. Now, go!" she kisses his forehead
"Adios, Doña Barbara. La quiero!" he smile sat her(formal way of saying I love you or I love her)
"I love you too, mi bobo" she waves good bye with a smile.
Once Juan Primito was able to escape to safety, Julieta gets on her horse and starts riding into the swamp but the guards stopped her, escaping. While riding on her horse, Julieta loads up her rifle as she dodged bullets from the guard's guns, firing at her. She starts shooting back at them, mostly hitting the tree barks and the bushes but they were starting to lose her trail. She kept looking back to see if they were all gone and out of her sight, she was in the clear. But she had trouble riding through the swamp with all the tree and vines in her way. She tries to duck them but it was really hard to not get caught in them. She soon makes it to the river but her horse starts neighing in fear by the large alligator in front of her. Sol jump up and down in fear as Julieta tried to hold on to her and calming her down but the alligator showed it's sharp teeth and tried to attack them. But Julieta thought fast and shot the alligator until it was dead. But Sol kept running through the swamp all crazy like until she finally stops and Julieta goes flying out of the saddle, landing on the soft cold sand of the beach
"SOL! What you did that for?!" she whines to her, trying to get back on her feet and rubbing her shoulder by the hard landing.
Julieta then looks up and realizes she was at the entrance of La Caverna De Los Espirituds and glare in anger and wickedness. It was the home of the one who tried to kill her and that is something she will not forgive him. She then pulls out her gun to get ready to do some seriously killing.
"You once told me you liked me in the color rojo (red). So, I'm going to please you, Gnoméo Celeste. Tonight you will know what red represents for me. It's the color of sangre (blood) and guerra (war) And I have a bullet with your name on it" she she growls with pure hatred and evilness like she was saying it to her victim/enemigo as she enters the dark cave.
This war nearly begins and she was in it to win it to the end.
