HEY, GUYS! Well, I'm here for you and a new chapter of this story. As we all know, spring break begins tomorrow and I wanted to leave you guys this before I go on my small trip to the city, I'm visiting the college I may be going this Fall 2014, my parents are driving me LOCA with this trip, makes me want to scream and push them down some stairs (But I won't!) Anyways, I'm going to trip and post another chapter when I get back. And I know some of you (not pointing out names) are begging me for the next chapter of my "From Hate To Love" story. 10. Revenge Is Dulce (Sweet)*
(Next morning, in town)
After her new and secret affair with El Zorro, Julieta has been a little distracted on her work in "La Dorada". She was always thinking of him like a crazy in-love teenager, which was funny because she is a teenager in the age of 18. She needed to act casual and act like nothing happened between them, she has to pretend she still hates him but cancels on any plan on killing him... for now.
Today was like any other day in el pueblo of San Verona, once she's in her role of Doña Barbara to do some very important business that involves saving her ranchera. She rides on her horse on a casual walk through the streets as her men follow behind on their horses. They passed the Plaza as the people waved to her and she smiled kindly. Soon Leon and Lucho started a conversation and she listens.
"Las pirañas are here early in the north river" Indio said
"That's because we're having strange weather conditions, Indio" Lucho pointed out
"I'll feel sorry for whoever swims in that river" Indio said with a small laugh.
Soon, they reached the building she was looking for. She hopes of her horse and pats her head while Lucho tied up the 3 horses to a pole. Julieta enters a building that belonged to city hall; it had a small library and offices with lawyers. She enters a small office and finds a lawyer, sleeping on his chair and snoring like a donkey. Julieta scoffs and rolls her eyes, by knowing him form a while. He was always very clumsy and pathetic and wears nerdy glasses & nerdy clothes and sometimes liked to wear a taupe to hide his baldness. Julieta didn't think of it twice that to SLASH her whip against his desk to wake him up. The lawyer wakes up and once he puts on his glasses, he gasps in shock when he saw Julieta.
"(Gasps) Doña! Doña Barbara!" he cried, nearly falling of his chair.
"Where's your jefe, Pepé?" she asks with a glare
"Uh... El Comandante Rodriguez... he had an important meeting he needed to assist. And he recommended me to not more from his spot"
"Not to move?" she asks, raising a brow
"Si, he was very specific to not move from this spot for anything in el mundo until 7pm, Doña"
Julieta grins evilly "Give el documento of the property of "La Dorada" she orders with a casual tone.
"El document of "La Dorada"?" he asks, confused & nervous.
"You heard me. I want it ahora" she demands
"Pero, Doña, that documento is under the power of Don Rojillo..." she then cuts him off.
"I advise you to do what I tell you, Pepé" she orders with a scary tone.
"Si, whatever you say, Doña" Pepé nods as he looks thru archives and drawers until he finds the document in a folder and hangs it to her. "Here it is, it is the legal document of every land and propiedad of "La Dorada" he says,
She grins and takes the folder "Oh, you get easier every time, Pepito" she slaps his cheek, playfully and walks to the exit with her men following behind.
"What did I do? Mi jefe (boss) is going to kill me!" Pepé grunts in his mind as he pulls out the hair of his taupe but fixes it again.
As she walks down the streets, Julieta grins evilly by knowing that she rules this town and everyone in it, especially politics and ranch owners. She can discover any dark secret of them and use it against them unless they do what she wants. And she always ends up winning. She only uses that kind of power on people who defies her or has the nerve to disobey her orders.
"That couldn't be más facil (more easy)" Lucho says with a smirk
"Si, that Pepé gets more bobo by the day" Indio laughs
"I don't even know how he got into lawyer escuela (school)" Lucho added and they both laugh.
"Muchachos, how about some cervesas (beers) before heading back, my treat" she asks and they nod in gratitude.
With her men following behind, Julieta walk casually through the streets as the people of the town tip their hat to her in respect, recognizing her as the one who takes care of them. She smiles and tips her hat back at them. They clear a path for her as she continues to walk down the streets. She then enters a bar as the door swung open where whoever was drinking or playing poker stop what they were doing. They clear the path for her, knowing she was la patrona of this town and they respect her. The men in the bar took their hats and bowed down to her in respect, making her smile at them. around this town, her order was the law.
While her men were at the counter drinking their beers and having a small talk with the other men, Julieta sat down on the table and read the document, making sure it will finally by under her name and only her name. It's under her mother's name too but that's the not el problema. El problema was that not until she was 21, the lands of "La Dorada" are under her father's name. And she wasn't letting him keep them; she knew his real reasons why he wants them. So, she had 2 options. 1. Wait until she's 21. Or 2. Go to the capital and have el presidente change the name of the owner of the lands. She drinks on her cup of whiskey and continues reading until she caught a sight that caught her full atención. She eyed a mysterious man, asleep on a table close to her. He had his back turn at her as he slept, he must have drank a lot to be in that stage. Even she didn't see his face; he seems very familiar to her.
Suddenly, she started having these strange and horrifying images and flashbacks of disgusting men she knew in her past. They were smirking and laughing evilly at her as she heard her own screams in the background. As the images died down in her head, an older man by the man of Lucas approached her.
"I'm sorry if I made you wait so long, mi Doña" he says, sitting down in her table. Lucas Santiago is an old business partner of her's who helped her in doing trades with other countries with her merchandise and doing the deliveries for the town. He was also like her lawyer and he's going to help her with the same documento of "La Dorada".
"No, no, don't worry; it's fine, Sr. Lucas. In fact, I'm heading back home right now. We'll talk about all about the business at your casa. I decided to accept the dinner invitación your hija made me"
"That's bueno. But why leaving so early, mi Doña?"
"I just have a little business to take of here in town before I head back and I's going to take a long time to resolve" she shakes his hand and he nods. Since she was feeling in a good mood, Julieta stood up on her table. "(Whistles) On behalf of Doña Barbara, I buy you all drinks, it's on me!" she exclaim, smiling as they applaud and cheer for her.
"Muchas gracias, patrona. This is why the entire pueblo loves you. Always with endless generosidad" Lucas chuckles, taking a drink.
"Anything for mi pueblo" she smiles.
"Well, enjoy your dia. I'll see you soon" he tips her hat to him and heads out.
Once Lucas left, Julieta turn her attention back to the mysterious man, still drunken and sleep on his table. Something was telling Julieta that she knows him but doesn't know where or how she met him. she needed to get closer and see his face but alone.
"Muchachos, before we go, there some couple of things I need you to do" she says and they listen "Lucho, go to Sr. Fernando's house and collect el dinero he owes me" she orders, trying to get rid of them for a while.
"Si, mi Doña" he nods, leaving the bar.
"And, Indio... watches la calle, make sure our horses are secured. You never know when the next ladron (thief) will strike"
"No worries, mi Doña. I'm always at your service" he nods and walks out the bar, leaving her alone at the table.
"Josefa, who is that?" she asks the waitress, as they both look at the man.
"Him... he's... um... goes by the name of Luis Beltran. He came to buy some cows for his boss's herd. But last night, he drank too much and hasn't woken up since this mañana. Why, mi Doña? Do you know him?"
"No, I thought he was somebody else. But maybe I do"
Once the Josefa left to do her job, Julieta's curiously couldn't take it no more. She stands up and slowly walks toward the drunken man. Since he was in a deep sleep, she pulls him by his neck collar as his head dangles like he was dead. Julieta turns her face around and gasps in shock by recognizing who he is.
"Perro De Agua!" she gasps, softly. (perro de agua: dog of water. Don't ask!)
She lets go of his head, making him drop fac down on the table, still drunken as she breathe heavily as a horrible memory forms in her head.
Flashback
"Julieta, corre!" her mother screams to her.
GUN-SHOT!
Marina was just shot by the hand of Perro De Agua. He laughs evilly as he held up his rifle as the others laugh.
"MAMÁ!" Julieta screamed in horror
But before she can run to her mother's dead body, the men block her way as they surrounded her, with intentions to do bad things to her. Julieta didn't want to her mother behind and at least try to save her. But she was in grave danger already. The men who killed her were running after her to kill her too. They chased as she ran with her might. They fire their guns and aim at her but had no avail in shooting her. Julieta ran through a dark swamp, feeling the men were close behind. Even she managed to escape their power, she swore she will destroy the men who killed her mother and her made her life a miseria.
Flashback Ends
That painful memory has scarred Julieta for life. It haunted her dreams and rewind in her head every single day since then. The day she watched her madre die right in front of her. No soul wants to see a love one die in front of them. But all that pain has turn Julieta into feared outlaw she is today. And she believed that now was the time to heal that pain thru getting rid of one of the men who destroyed her life & her mother. An evil plan was forming in her head as she continues to glare in hate down at the sleepy Perro De Agua.
Soon her men came back into the bar after they did their jobs. They saw their boss sitting at her table, drinking a cup of whiskey.
"Mi Doña. Do you want us to pack it in for hoy?"
"No. I have new job for you. Only this time it will involve going for a little swim in the north river"
"But Doña, that rio is infested with piranhas"
"I'm not saying for us. It'll be for an old enemigo" she grins evilly as she turns back at Perro De Agua. Her men see him too and understand what she means.
"There he is. That miserable scum" she growls.
"What do you want us to do, Doña? Take him out?" Leon asked, holding his gun
"Si but not with the gun, nobody must know about this. Muchachos, wake him up and take him to the place where I told you and I will meet you there in half an hour" she orders as walks out the bar with an evil grin on her face.
A few minutes after their boss left and had a few more drinks, Indio and Lucho walks up to him and throw some water over him head as he started to wake up.
Indio slaps him lighting on his face as Luis opened his eyes "Hey, wake up, allow me to introduce myself. They call me El Indio and this is mi compadre, Lucho. And we work for the richest woman in all of San Verona. And we would like to present her to you, isn't that right, Leon?"
"Si, our boss is a real gem and always likes to welcome newcomers into the town" lucho said, taking a sip of his beer.
"Really? Well, I have time to meet her. Mi nombre is Luis Beltran by the way" he says, shaking hands.
Using their strength, Indio & Lucho drag the drunken man out of the bar and into the streets as they struggle to keep him off his feet.
"What are we doing here? I thought we were going to some your friend's house?" Luis asked, confused
"We are. But our boss has to give us permission first" Indio said as he sat Luis on the rock and Lucho and him sat down.
"Tranquilo (calm down), mi amigo Luis, don't worry. Everything at it's time. Just tell us something... what did your old friends used to call you?" Lucho asked.
"Me? Why do you ask me that?" he asks, confused
"We've heard you use to have a nick name" Indio said but he was soon cut off.
"Perro De Agua" a female voice said from a distance "That's what they called you!"
Luis turns to direction of the voice where he saw a girl, standing on a large rock, surrounded by medium and smaller rocks in the middle of the river. She was dressed in a long black shirt with a black blouse, a black cowgirl hat. She had a belt filled with weapons around her waist as she held a whip on her hand and looks like a dead chicken under her shoulder. Her brown hair was in a braid; it rested on her shoulder and went down to her waist. She had a smirk on her face and evil in her green eyes.
"Hola, perro de agua. Do you remember me?" she asks him but he doesn't answer.
Doña Barbara takes the dead chicken from her shoulder, showing it to Luis and she throws it to the water. The water starts bubbling by the vicious piranhas, devouring the life-less chicken. El Indio and Lucho hold Luis tight to not escape as he watched the chicken being eaten up, getting scared and he looks back at the mysterious girl who was glaring at him with wickedness.
"The piranhas are very hungry for flesh" she evilly laughs, looking at the terrified Luis. "So, what, Perro de Agua? Do you remember me? Or have you forgotten what you and your friends did to me and my mother?"
Luis stayed silent as he tried to think of who could this mysterious girl is and why was she asking him these questions? Suddenly, he started getting a flashback of him and his friends running in a dangerous part of the swamp. It was night-time and they were chasing this girl through the swamp. The girl ran for her life while holding a helpless little girl in her arms. She ran with all her might to save her child but the goons were getting close but she continues to run across the swampy river. The last thing he remembers was some cries of help, screams of terror from the girl and crying from the baby and some evil laughs from the men. He remembered now!
"Barbarita!" he gasped in terror in disbelief
"Now you remember me, huh? She laughs, evilly "That's what they use to call me! But I stopped being "Barbarita" a long time ago when some desgraciados destroyed the life of my mother and mine. Now... I'm Doña Barbara!" she stated with power and pride. "Isn't that right, muchachos?" she asked her men.
"Si, Mi Doña! Yes, miss!" they cried to her, still holding Luis to the ground who was starting to cry in terror.
"Why are you crying? So, big and crying?" she asked him, in a teasing tone. "Aren't you embarrassed to cry in front of these muchachos who don't know you? They're going to think you're a gallina like the one the piranhas just ate. Calm down, I swear I'm not going to kill you. I swear to you by my life. I just want to talk to you" she says but Luis can still see her evil grin at him, wanting to destroy him.
"Now, let's talk about your old friends. Do you remember them? Si, your old amigos; Melendez, Pablo Escobar, & El Sapo (The Frog). Do you remember them? Those who made my mother's life a misery years ago. Do you know what they've become and where can I find them?" she asked him but he stays silent, not wanting to answer any of her questions.
"Mi Doña! I think our little friends needs a little memory jog" Indio cried
"If I were you I start talking" Lucho said to Luis and Indio nods and he and Lucho start playfully pushing him into the piranha infested river.
"NO, NO, NO!" Luis pleaded, as they lean him closer to the river. "I don't know anything! I don't know anything!" he sobs but she wasn't convinced.
Doña Barbara smiles evilly, joining how terrified Luis of dying unless he told her everything he knows. This man was like the others, a miserable who destroyed her mother's life since she was little. In fact, they were the reason why she died, and ever since Julieta spotted him last night after years, all she felt was hate and anger and decided to avenge her mother's death and memory by destroying these 4 men.
"Muchachos, give him a little drink. Maybe that'll help him remember" she said as the men obey. They grabbed a large bottle of whiskey and threw it down Luis mouth, nearly drowning in the whiskey and coughs for breathe as the guys were still holding him down.
"Gracias. But let me go, Barbarita... I mean, Doña Barbara. I promise I won't escape" he chocked to say.
"I'll let you go later. I promise I won't kill you. I'm giving you a drink, what more do you want? But I'll ask you again, so tell me, what happened to your friends after you guys kill my mother?" she asked in a growl as her men threat him with their guns. He didn´t have no other choice then to confess.
"Alright, alright, I'll talk!" he took a deep breath to talk and she listen "After what happened that night and you were gone, me and the boys went to the capital to collect all of Marina's money she left there for you. We found out she left you a huge fortune in your name and we spend it equally. And we all went our separate ways. I went to the gold mines of the south but I didn't find anything. I lost everything, my ranch, my money and all my herds in a lousy game of poker. So, I didn't have any choice than to come back to San Verona, that's where I found Pablo Escobar again" he explains, trembling in fear.
Julieta nods her head by hearing the familiar name. "Pablo Escobar? Another one of my old amigos" Julieta said in a sour tone, remembering another scum as Pablo Escobar. "What is Pablo Escobar doing? WHERE CAN I FIND HIM?!" She yelled, in rage.
"Him? He's very good, Doña. He's filthy stinking rich. It was your Madre's fortune which made him become one of the richest and powerful drug-dealers in Colombia. And he owns these really nice fields, cultivating cafe. I used to work for him and that's why I was in town last night so I can buy him 2 new cows. But I was playing poker and drinking and I lost all the money he gave me" he sobs in pity.
"(clicks her tongue) Aw, that's very bad, Perrito" she says in fake disappointment, clicking her tongue again. "Escobar is going to be very angry with you when he finds out. Poor Perro de Agua, what mala suerte you have. You're really in trouble now" she laughs, teasing him.
"Si, Doña. I always have mala suerte, because I always screw things up and I end up working for somebody else again" he sobs in disappointment.
Then Julieta reaches for her golden gun from the pocket in her belt "And what's worst... is that you're the first on mi lista" she holds her gun up and aims and shoots directly at Luis's foot. He screams in pain and she laughs in evil and wickedness, enjoying his suffering.
"You told me you weren't going to kill me!" he cried by the pain of his bleeding foot.
She laughs evilly "Perrito, my word is worth oro! I'm not going to kill you! Some friends of mine will do it for me" she smirks, evilly. "Indio, Lucho! A nice bubble bath for our amigo here" she orders and her men lean Luis over the river again.
He screams in horror "No, no, no, please, don't do it, Barbarita! I didn't want to do it! They force me to kill Marina & you! IT WAS ALL THEM!" he begged for mercy but she didn´t listen.
"You didn't have mercy on us. Mi madre begged you guys to stop and let us go but you didn't. Thanks to you, she's gone from my life. So don't ask me for mercy. Thanks to you guys, you turn me into this what I am now! So, yes, tremble in fear and cry like a coward. And look at me; look at me really good because this face is will be the last thing you'll be seeing, desgraciado. You will die slowly so you can suffer what mi madre and I suffer after all those years" she growls in pure anger toward him.
"Muchachos, don't stop looking at me as the piranhas devour him. THROW HIM IN!" She gives them the last order.
"NO, NO, NO, NOOOOO!"
And they throw him in the river with a large splash. Luis resurface, coughing up water but quickly felt the hungry piranhas biting up his legs and his waist with the sharp teeth, devouring his skin. He tries to swim for his life but the piranhas very too fast. As he screamed with terror, Julieta laughs evilly as she enjoyed watching him suffer and slowly die.
"Miráme, look at me, desgraciado! Remember me until eternity as you rot in hell! I am Doña Barbara! YO SOY DOÑA BARBARA! Look at me, imbecile!" she finishes, feeling superior and powerful.
The water of river turns from crystal clear to a bloody red as Luis's s body was slowly devoured by the hungry piranhas ate up his body until her was nothing left of him. Julieta bends down on her knees as she watched how her old enemy's body disappear into the river, flowing down the stream with the piranhas. She didn't feel any guilt, on the contrary, she felt stronger and more powerful than ever. He was one of those men who made her suffer. His death is nothing compare to what he and the other scum's did to her and her mother. "1 down, 3 to go" she smirk in her mind with pure evilness.
(Night-time, still in the swamp)
Night-time fell over the swamp as the bright white moon lightens up the path as it show its reflection on it. The crickets chirp and the fireflies glow over plants and in the air. Julieta and her men stood on the shore of the river as she prepares her horse to leave soon.
"Mi Doña, should we go?" Lucho asks her
"Indio, Lucho, stays here until dawn. I want everybody to make sure they never find that miserable's' body until he declare him missing or dead" she says, getting on her horse.
"Doña, are you going alone? It could be dangerous" Indio said, concern
"Nothing can happen to me worst that what already happened today" she said with confidence.
"If you want I can go with you" Lucho asked
"No, gracias but not will happen to me and today, less than ever. Here, take this money and buy yourselves some drinks. Like the piranhas, you boys did a fine job and have the rest of the night off" she tips her hat to them and they smile in gratitude.
Julieta rides off n her horse thru the swampy river that had no piranhas. She was proud of what she did to punish one her life-long enemies. Tonight was one of the biggest nights of her life. After all those years of living under the fear and shadows of those men, she felt relieved of getting rid of one. But there was still 3 more to go. Even she didn´t know where to find them she promised herself and in her mother's name, she will avenge her dead. But to do that, she needed to get richer and more powerful than ever. She had plans. BIG PLANES!
She rides her horse thru her ranchera. "LEÓN!" she called as he came running to her.
"Mi Doña. You called?" he asks, concern.
"If I didn't, would I need you? Call the rest of my men to wake up, I have major noticias (news)!" she calls, serious.
"VAMOS! GET UP! LA DOÑA HAS RETURN!" León called and 5 men came out of la ranchera, wondering what their boss wants to say. "Qué pasa, Mi Doña? Why do you call us?" asks a muscular man named Lorenzo. (Qué pasa: what's up/what's wrong/what's the matter?)
"Muchachos, tonight I want to celebrate. I want to become richer and poderosa then ever before. And for that to happen, I'm going to need to expand mis tierras. So, we have plenty of work to do"
"What are we going to do, Barbara?" León asked and it made Julieta angry by calling her by her 2nd name without the respect she deserves. She pulls out her whip and SLASHES it against León's bare shoulder as he got the message. "I'm sorry... "Doña" he corrects, holding on to his shoulder, smoothing down the pain of her whip, making her grin evilly.
"We're here at anything you order, Mi Doña" said another muscular man with a shadowy beard named Rico.
"Find the old wagon in the back and tied 2 cows to it. Bring all the shovels, picks and all the equipment" she orders and they nod and went to do they jobs.
Julieta hops of her horse and goes inside her ranchera, into her study. Like all the other rooms, the study was half ruined by the fire but most of her important documents were not destroyed. Luckily, the books weren't destroying either. She pulls out a large book from the shelf and looks thru the pages and finds a map of Mexico. She flips thru the pages and finds information about some very powerful drug-dealers of Spain, Mexico, Colombia and many other countries in the world.
After carefully organizing her plan, she closes the books and dials down a number on her old phone and waits.
"Privet?" a man with a Russian accent answers.
"Privet, Oleg Yakoski? Da! Min'azavut Doña Barbara. Da, Ya iz Ispanii" she spoke in Russian. "I have a very interesting offer you won't refuse" she said with a grin as she continues to make a very good business deal with some powerful drug-dealers that will help get back on top.
WOW! THAT WAS AWESOME! EVIL JULIETA IS BACK & BETTER THAT EVER! And she will stay like that for the rest of the story! & WOW, She speaks Russian, is that cool or qué? Well, I speak Russian but I'm not fluent yet, it's a really hard language but mis amigas rusas (Russian girl friends) teach me and it makes it a little easier. I also now French Sometimes I get a headache and get words mixed up by all these languages I know.
PS. Russian Translation: "Hello, Oleg Yakoski (Russian name) Yes! My name is Doña Barbara. Yes, I'm from Spain"

Just to let you guys know from now on, there will be drug dealer characters. And the most awesomest and powerful ones in the history of drug-dealing in history! (OOPS, SPOILERS!) And if you think the death of one of this guy was good, wait til you what she has planned next for the others ;)
