The Tale of Two Monsters Chapter 3: Cat out of the Bag

A/N: Sorry, I've been busy with school and other things. Sorry, this is short. Now, I can write more with the decrease of work. Okay! So, let's get this show on the road.

Brian started from the beginning. "Isaak and I met right after college." He started. "He was charming and handsome for a guy and he kinda grew on me. At first, I avoided him at all cost. He would always pop out of nowhere… like he was stalking me." Brian shivered. "I was tempted to kill him after the fifth coincidence, you know.

"Then, after a while, we started hanging out. He would pick me up in a limo, even though, I told not to." Brian chuckled in reverie of the past. "The places we would go would be fancy and extravagant. 'I only wanted the best', he said. 'I love you', he said. I had never had anyone tell me that except for you and mom." Brian gazed at Dexter who was staring directly at Brian. "Um, I didn't know how to react." He scratched the back of his neck. "I told him to piss off. Yet, he never gave up. Even when I held a knife to his throat, he said he'd haunt me and love me all the same." Dexter grinned at that. He remembered all the times Rita remained a constant even without the knowledge of him being a serial killer.

Brian shrugged. "I didn't love him back. I told him what I was, who I am." Brian huffed out a loud sigh. "The bastard only came back for more. Later I found out that he was some highly feared mafia boss, or some crap like that. He claimed that we shared the same 'blood-lust'. I didn't fight him on that. I respected that. A month later, he wanted to take me away from America. He wanted to show me his roots. I didn't argue. I packed a suit case and left my little apartment in DC. Living here was better than staying somewhere where I only knew cattle and just one monster. There were a lot here. Some just killed for the pure look in the victim's eyes. Some did it to relieve stress. But, Isaak and I-, we did it because we wanted to; needed to.

"Years went by and I still intended to keep the relationship platonic with Isaak. I was into girls… well, the smart ones at least. The ones with lots of fire, too. Even though Deb was only to get to you, she was my type. Anyway, Isaak would always do that thing with my neck like you saw earlier. It calms me. So, one night, when we were drunk, he made a real move." Brian seemed to redden at this. He pursed his lips before continuing. "I was too wasted to stop him…" Brian seemed to go far away for a second. "In the morning, he was sleeping right next to me. Clothes on, both of us, snoring softly. I decided that next time, I wouldn't let him stop." Brian put his head into his hands. He started to shake from laughter. "It was a complete and utter fail on my part. I won't go into details, but we made it work… Sorry, I know that's awkward." Brian looked sympathetically at Dexter who had a face of indifference.

He started nodding slowly. "So, what now?" Dexter asked.

Brian shrugged. "Isaak does me favors in place for his misplaced love." Brian laid back on the luxury bed. "I'm free to do whatever the hell I want as long as I check in."

Dexter looked incredulously at Brian, then shocked. "He's your sugar daddy?" He asked. Brian's smirk grew slowly.

"No… He's more than that. He understands me." Brian slid his index finger across his throat. "And, I mean, understands…" He chuckled darkly.

Dexter arched an eyebrow. "You kill together?" He asked.

Brian nodded. "He's more of the dominant type. He likes to start the kill, then I get to finish it." He gazed up at Dexter. "Imagine the three of us. Isaak can keep us away from US Marshals for years maybe decades, he's wanted in other countries, too." Brian sat up suddenly. He eyed Dexter for a while before he smiled wryly. "You'd like that right?"

The younger nodded. "He's calling again." Dexter said like he was a million miles away. Brian brought their two heads together.

"Then, bring him out."
