I don't think there are any major announcements, I did want to thank the people who reviewed my last chapter you were very kind and it warms my heart that at least there are some people out there who are reading and enjoying what I'm putting out there! Thank you for your words I do truly appreciate them and the time you took to write something to me.

The rain poured down the window each drop leaving its own trail as it falls, sliding down the cool glass pane. Each one seemed to have its own path its own way of getting down the window among the other raindrops, some intermingling with each other and some striking out in it's own way and in it's own time. Some raindrops were slower than others; some were so fast it was almost as if they were never there. One thing that was the same about the raindrops on the window, however, was that in the end they all funneled into the same spot, disappearing off the window completely, out of sight and splashing where no one could tell it was once a raindrop.

A poetic person could find some symbolism in that sight, Sasuke mused, but not him. He prided himself on his famous Uchiha practicality and, focusing on romantic idealism didn't fit in his mind process. Or at least it shouldn't. Ever since Sasuke had lain eyes on that stupid blonde boy he had known in the back of his mind it would only bring him trouble and of course, as always, Sasuke was right. He couldn't keep the image of the blue eyes that had captivated him out of his thoughts, the bubbling laugh that entranced him out of his ears, and he would vividly remember the horrifying feeling he had when he saw the boy's sad face trembling with such raw vulnerability that Sasuke would have done everything and anything he was asked.

The thoughts and dreams were only serving as distractions now for Sasuke's newly acquired goal to carve out his piece of the Uchiha empire, something his parents had always wanted him to do: sell his soul for money. Sasuke glanced at his clock and grabbed his bag, he would be late if he waited much longer.

Making his way to the front door Sasuke was careful to step over the pieces of lumber that were still lying around on the floor, the mansion was being redone and repaired, Sasuke had decided if he was going to build on the Uchiha name he should probably fix the Uchiha mansion he was living in. He had almost made it to the door when the phone rang.

Sasuke groaned and turned back to fast walk to the kitchen, almost forgetting to watch out for the lumber on the floor, only important calls came to the house. Grabbing the phone he pressed the talk button and held it up to his ear.

"Uchiha residence," he said in his most business like tone. He could almost feel his face fall and his mood darken as he listened to the other side of the conversation, Sasuke cleared his throat interrupting the person on line speaking, "I understand it's a large expense but we have the money and I want it spent on this. It's the Uchiha fortune and last I checked I was an Uchiha, I understand your concerns but do I as I say or I'll find someone else who is more cooperative."

As Sasuke slammed the phone back he attempted to push back his dark thoughts, it seemed now that he had taken on the Uchiha responsibilities all the news he ever got was bad news now. One thought made its way through his filter and Sasuke thought he could almost see Naruto's face in front of him this time, the blue eyes piercing through his heart. Turning abruptly Sasuke stalked to his door again with w purpose, pushing the image away.

He needed to learn to forget him, Sasuke knew, because the broken pieces of his heart ached with every time he entered his thoughts.

Naruto didn't remember getting led back to the Snake headquarters, his mind was so numb and blank he felt like he hadn't even been in his body for that whole walk back. Unfortunately for him he did return to reality, as he walked heavily through the first concrete hall he blinked and looked up from his feet.

The first thing Naruto saw the back of the ever haughty Cobra; he walked with an, ease and confidence perhaps even happiness that did not betray the murderous bastard that he really was. You would never have known that the man who strode before Naruto with his head held high had just mercilessly and needlessly killed a man.

The rage in Naruto began to rise, he could feel it there bubbling and rising like the lava within a dormant volcano that had been under pressure for so long the blast was sure to be devastating. As Naruto heard the roar beginning to fill his ear he briefly wondered who, exactly, the blast would devastate? Naruto had only felt this rage a few times in his life and the last time it happened Naruto ended up punching Iruna's husband in the face and running away to an even bigger disaster.

Gaara spotted Naruto's fist clenched in a sudden and oncoming anger, he didn't know the blonde well enough to know his body language but it didn't take a genius to figure out Naruto was quickly becoming furious. Reaching forward he grabbed Naruto's elbow only to have it shaken angrily away. Before Gaara could say anything Cobra spoke, not even bothering to turn around he said:

"I hope you learned your lesson, it would be a rough one to repeat," he even let out a chortle, "I might thank you, at least we rid the world of one more piece of trash."

Naruto's fury erupted, leaping forwards with a guttural growl he landed the first blow straight on the back of Cobra's head. The man reeled forwards past his guards but Naruto hadn't let up, pushing all his weight down on him Naruto raised his arm for another strike and was instantly grabbed around the neck and whipped away from Cobra. Cobra's bodyguard slammed Naruto into the concrete wall closing his hands around his throat he squeezed and kept Naruto's feet just inches above the ground.

All of Naruto's fury seemed to sap from his body as he struggled uselessly against the giant bodyguard, the slam against the concrete had made him instantly dizzy and his eye sight was becoming blurry from the lack of oxygen.

"Let him go!" Gaara's voice seemed feeble and distant as Naruto could feel that familiar darkness quickly overtaking him.

"Release him."

The bodyguard let go of Naruto's throat suddenly and Naruto dropped gasping to the ground. Heaving for air he rubbed his sore neck and carefully looked up, sensing a shadow that was standing over him. Gazing upwards he met the very close eyes of Cobra. The raw hate and rage Naruto saw there, unleashed and burning with intensity made Naruto wish the bodyguard had killed him.

"So…you finally found your backbone did you, blondie," Cobra hissed his face only centimeters away from Narutos, "unfortunately this lesson will be much harder to learn, and you will learn it."

For the first time Naruto noticed the gun in Cobra's hand. Cobra ran it gently down the side of Naruto's face gazing into Naruto's eyes with cocky glee, filled with the pleasure of control. Naruto looked at the gun once then met Cobra's gaze steadily. For the first time, he wasn't afraid. Let Cobra kill him, kill Naruto now so he could be gone, out of this world that had done nothing but chewed him up and spit him out again and again. Naruto finally let go and stopped fighting to survive, still looking into Cobra's eyes he smiled.

Cobra ground his teeth into a snarl making an angry sound he suddenly stood up and away from Naruto whipping the gun in front of him he placed the cool metal on Naruto's forehead, reaching for the trigger-

"STOP! COBRA STOP IT!" Gaara came flying from nowhere, he must've just saw the gun. Gripping Cobra's arm he turned to face him straight on looking into Cobra's eyes, "you can't just kill him, Cobra you have to think. THINK, don't do this-"

Cobra shoved Gaara away and returned his gaze to Naruto.

"I will do this, and I will enjoy it." Cobra's voice was a deep dangerous hiss. Gaara stepped up again this time getting closer to Cobra.

"Please, Cobra, let him go." There was a long period of silence; the tension was so thick it felt suffocating. "For me."

Another long period of silence and Naruto looked at both men in front of him confused. He looked them up and down, shocked by the intense intimacy Gaara's voice had taken on. Cobra's eyes hadn't left Gaara's face the whole time they were speaking and he was still gazing now. Finally Cobra put his arm and the gun down to his side. Shrugging he turned back to Naruto.

"Fine, I won't kill him...yet," Cobra put the gun in the back of his pants again, "lock him up in his cell while I decide what to do with him."

Naruto was heaved up to his feet by the bodyguards, Naruto's mind was racing he didn't know what to think or do. Cobra turned and sauntered slowly back to Naruto.

"He still has to learn his lesson," he chided in a mocking tone. Sliding his eyes to where Gaara stood he took another step closer to Naruto. His fist flew, ironically fast as a snake, and connected with Naruto's face.

The blast of pain was unexpected and Naruto hated the way his head flew back in reaction to the blow, knowing it gave Cobra satisfaction. Cobra didn't stop his attack, moving smoothly from his first strike he hit Naruto with the flat of his hand in the neck. Naruto gurgled and went forward held steadily in place by the bodyguards. Cobra gripped Naruto's shoulder with a steel grip and kneed him in the stomach hard. With a final uppercut to Naruto's jaw Cobra finally stepped back breathing heavily and grinning.

Naruto felt the blood drip from his face before he saw it hit the ground, was it from his nose or his mouth? Probably both. Cobra was rubbing his hand before he waved the bodyguards off nonchalantly. With unnecessary roughness the bodyguards wrenched Naruto forwards and away from Cobra.

"Wait!" Cobra's voice called and the bodyguards froze where they stood. Naruto could hear Cobra's feet falling behind him but the bodyguards never moved to face him.

With a blow filled with vengeance and anger Cobra hit Naruto square in the back of head, black flashed across Naruto's vision once but he never made a sound.

After that Naruto wasn't sure what happened, the world outside his body was blurry and his mind flashed with what might have been other Brothers laughing or solemnly nodding as the bodyguards stormed past, he remembered being slammed into the corner of the concrete wall as they dragged him along, and then the last thing he remembered was his body being tossed into his room, Naruto had no control over his limbs as he slammed to the ground and rolled to a stop.

Without even moving, Naruto wasn't sure if he could, he lay there silently as the door of his cell slammed shut and locked.

Naruto wasn't sure how long he laid there, his body refused to be mercifully numb and his mind betrayed him. In his mind flashed all his mistakes, all his stupidity continuously playing through his mind like a movie on repeat. Once Naruto had used pain to escape those thoughts, he wished he had one of his red puzzle pieces now. That would make him feel better.

He heard rather than saw the door unlocked and scrape open against the hard ground. It closed quietly again and Naruto heard the footsteps rush towards him. Cool hands rolled him over and Naruto blinked as he tried to focus on the red head who was assessing him with those emotionless eyes. This time, however, they weren't emotionless they were panicked and sad.

"Gaara…" Naruto groaned, it was difficult to speak. Gaara shook his head and looked at Naruto's face carefully turning it different directions.

"Don't talk, I think your jaw is broken," Gaara reached over to the side and pulled forth a cloth. Naruto winced as Gaara washed his bloody face.

They sat like that, in silence for awhile. Gaara methodically washing and doing what he could for Naruto's injuries, Naruto occasionally wincing at the pain but found it was easier to focus on the ceiling than what was happening.

"Naruto…you truly are an idiot," Gaara muttered as he finished, setting the rag aside he struggled to set Naruto up to sit on his cot. Naruto obliged but Gaara could tell by his face that he didn't care about ever moving. "Why would you attack Cobra in his own pit surrounded by his bodyguards, what were you trying to accomplish?!"

"He's a murderer," Naruto murmured in a quiet tone, his eyes still hadn't focused on anything in the room as if he were a million miles away.

"And you're an idiot," Gaara snapped, "one might think you wanted to be killed." Naruto said nothing. Sighing Gaara moved over to the door and picked up the metal tin that was full of some excuse for food and a small cup of water. "Here, eat this."

Naruto didn't even acknowledge what Gaara held.

"Damn it Naruto! You need to get your shit together," Gaara slammed the tray down, "I went throw a lot of shit for you the least you could do is not die of starvation and self pity in this damn cell." Gaara gave a sigh of frustration and annoyance and dug his hand into his pocket. Naruto heard a crumple of paper and he glanced up as Gaara held a small folded piece of paper out for him.

For the first time Naruto seemed to notice him. Slowly he took the paper away from Gaara's outstretched hand.

"What is this," Naruto's voice sounded hoarse and foreign in his own ears.

"I had to cover your runs while you are locked up," Gaara's voice was dull and unamused but his eyes were searching all over Naruto, he was looking for something, a reaction. "I went to one of your drops and don't worry I paid off whoever you keep sliding half your tips through under the door. I figured it was someone you owed money too and I figured you were in enough trouble as it were."

Naruto's whole body went tense and his eyes never left Gaara's face, what had Gaara done?

"You've been following me," Naruto's voice accused Gaara of betrayal; fear of what Cobra would do to Iruka's family filled every bone of Naruto's body. Gaara ignored the accusation and motioned instead towards the paper in Naruto's hand.

"When I put the money under the door," Gaara said lightly, "someone slid this out."

Naruto hurriedly unfolded the paper his eyes still blurry took a moment to focus on the words. It was Katy's handwriting, he could tell. Blinking a few times the tiny words came into focus, the paper was just a slip probably torn off a page of homework, the words were tiny and cramped there wasn't a lot of room for them, Naruto read:

Iruka is sick, in the hospital, very bad. Need to know, running out of time.

Naruto sat up too quickly and his head spun. Gasping he sat back again and crumpled the paper in his hand. Iruka was sick, he didn't have much time? What did this mean, what was wrong with Iruka? Instantly the image of Naruto's adopted father swam to his mind the soft face and sad, tired eyes. Naruto had left him, alone, and Iruka was…what if it was too late?

"I have to…I have to leave," Naruto struggled to sit up but Gaara pushed him back down, slapping Gaara's hands away Naruto tried to get up again, "GET OFF ME I need to, I have to get there he needs me!"

"How are you going to get there, Naruto?" Gaara demanded his hands on his hips, "Whoever Iruka is you can't do anything for him right now. You wouldn't have ever been able to, Cobra won't let any of us leave."

"I DON'T GIVE A FUCK ABOUT COBRA!" Naruto roared, he finally made it to the edge of the bed and stood…for about two seconds, Naruto was crying before he collapsed to the ground. Gaara helped him up as Naruto sobbed.

"Listen to me, I'm going to handle this and you can send whatever money you want to whoever you want," Gaara said his voice harsh and commanding. "You can't do anything here or now so stop acting like an idiot, for ONCE."

Naruto stopped letting his eyes unfocus again. Every awful thing that could've happened to Iruka flashed through his head, along with all the memories of Iruka helping him, adopting him, helping him apply to colleges, driving him to all his practices, even helping him escape the country…slowly the reality of Gaara's words sunk in. The red head was right, Naruto couldn't do anything while Cobra held him prisoner. Turning he looked back at Gaara.

"Why did you save me, Gaara?" Naruto's eyes were penetrating but also confused, "you who care for nothing but self preservation why would you risk yourself for me? Why did you bring this to me, why did you…risk anything all for me?"

Gaara bit his lip and turned away, Naruto knew he had closed himself off and had no intention of answering his question. Shrugging he picked the tray up again and walked it back over to Naruto.

"I don't want the execution of one of my recruits on my record, it isn't good in my line of work," Gaara's voice was dry and flat and his eyes had turned to a steel mirror that refused to let anyone see what was going on inside. Naruto licked his lip painfully and forced his muddled mind to focus, if he was going to die in this place he might as well know exactly what had happened. He was ready to die there in that hallway with Cobra, if Gaara hadn't interfered he knew he would be a cold corpse thrown out into the alleyway, a bullet in his head and a mercifully quiet eternity of darkness to embrace him. He wanted to know what had happened back there. He decided to go about it a different way.

"Why did Cobra even listen to you, Gaara," Naruto said slowly, "as long as I've been here I've noticed they all treat you differently."

"They treat you differently too."

"Yes but they hate me…they're scared of you," Naruto turned to look at the red head's eyes searching for a crack in his shield, "at first I thought they were afraid of you because you were a snitch, someone who would run to Cobra with every piece of news you heard. Now I'm not sure, Cobra was going to kill me back there. I would think he wouldn't stop for anyone, but for some reason he stopped for you. Why?"

Gaara shrugged and looked away but Naruto glimpsed that waver that slight change in his unreadable gaze. Taking a gamble Naruto sighed and leaned back against the hard wall.

"He doesn't love you, Gaara," Naruto said slowly. Gaara turned back to him his eyes searching for a hidden meaning or message behind Naruto's words. Finding none he shrugged and gave a cruel smile.

"He doesn't love anything," Gaara rubbed his ear, "Cobra gets what he wants whenever he wants it, drugs, alcohol, girls…boys. Whatever he wants and instantly, I just happen to be his current want."

"And you're okay with that?" Naruto snapped leaning forwards, "you let him use you and you just stay here and let it happen?"

"Only an idiot wouldn't!" Gaara's voice with angry and he stood abruptly, "you try to leave Cobra see how far you get. Besides, being Cobra's pet has its benefits I'd be a fool to pass all that up."

"That makes up for it?" Naruto said bitterly, the realization of Gaara's relationship with the man he currently hated above all made him feel sick.

"It saved you, didn't it?!" Gaara snapped his eyes were furious now and his voice shook. How dare Naruto judge him? "What do you think I should save myself, find someone I love?"

"Love is a myth," Naruto said quietly leaning back against the wall. Gaara stopped and simmered in his anger at Naruto's reaction.

Naruto thought slowly, Gaara wasn't stupid he was probably hiding behind Cobra as a defense mechanism to stay alive and on top of the game of the gangs, Cobra saw Gaara as a prize so he wouldn't hurt him and wouldn't let anyone else have him, Naruto supposed that Gaara was just using Cobra as much as Cobra was using him.

"Why would you risk it then," Naruto said a sudden thought dawning on him, "why would you test your relationship trying to save me?"

Gaara stopped and his anger seemed to fade. Turning around his eyes were open and raw and he stepped closer to Naruto, leaning one knee on his bed he peered into the sparkling blue eyes that never seemed to fade no matter how much the person they belonged to did.

"Because love is not a myth," Gaara whispered his voice soft and vulnerable, "I love you Naruto. I always have from the moment I saw you running like a maniac on the streets. I brought you here, I saved you then and I saved you now because I feel this…connection. We're meant to be."

Naruto felt his stomach drop, and he wrenched his eyes away from Gaara's hopeful gaze. Closing his eyes he fought back the nausea that flooded him. Why could nothing in his life be simple? Just when things couldn't get worse, he thought.

"Gaara…" Naruto fought back tears and his mind wildly grasped for an answer to give the red headed boy. Was this why Cobra hated him so much? Cobra wasn't a stupid man and he must've sensed Gaara's attraction to Naruto and hated Naruto for it.

"Naruto," Gaara never used his name, "we're going to take over this gang. Me and you, we're going to make this place our palace and we're the kings! I love you and I think you love me too, we're soul mates I can feel it."

Naruto opened his eyes and saw Gaara had drawn closer his eyes burning with desire and hope, Naruto thought he might be sick. He gently placed his hand on Gaara's hand.

"Gaara, I don't…I don't love you," Naruto decided it would best to rip the idea of love out of Gaara's heart quickly, it would be for the best. " No matter what you think, I care for you-you're my friend. You saved me, multiple times, and I…I…I know love doesn't exist. It can't, not in…not in a world like this. Trust me, Gaara we're not soul mates you're not in love with me."

Gaara drew back like he had been bitten.

"We're not soul mates, I don't even really know you! Trust me, we're…we're nothing alike. Gaara please understand, I can't…I don't love anyone. I don't deserve it," Naruto said the last part quietly so that he doubted even Gaara heard.

Gaara wasn't hearing anything, his mind was busy contemplating all the dreams and ideas he had being crushed and knocked away. Naruto thought he could see Gaara physically lock them away in his mind pushing the feeling of utter rejection behind the steel veil that was his eyes.

"You don't know anything of love," Gaara's voice was fierce and bitter, "don't tell me how I feel Naruto. You don't know anything, you're just angry at everyone."

Naruto braced himself against the bed as Gaara stood and stomped to the door. Naruto watched him mournfully knowing he had just stomped all over Gaara's heart, did this world exist of nothing but pain? Gaara stopped for a moment, his back turned to Naruto. He turned slowly back to face the bed.

"You don't know about true love," Gaara said slowly, "because no one has tried to teach you. We're connected Naruto you just don't know it. I've heard it said once that love conquers all, but I don't think that's right."

Gaara stalked over to Naruto who gazed up at him. Reaching down Gaara grasped Naruto's arm and pulled it above his head. With a deft movement he wrenched the hoodie sleeve down to Naruto's elbow. The old and new scars from Naruto's cutting were viciously vivid and Naruto tried to bring his arm away but found he didn't have the strength to do so.

"I think pain is the great equalizer, blondie," Gaara gave him a crooked grin, Gaara turned his arm around exposing it to Naruto, there were no cut marks but instead small prick marks and veins that looked tortured and bruised. Naruto's eyes widened and he looked up at Gaara.

"You've been doing Sand," Naruto said flatly.

"For awhile now," Gaara nodded, "the liquid form is stronger, takes awhile to make it but the reward is fantastic." Gaara fingered one of Naruto's cuts and slowly sat down beside him. "Listen Naruto, we were drawn together and this-" he jabbed his finger at Naruto's arm, "is what connects us. The world only knows pain, and I think from this pain…comes love. We know each other and we know that no one can truly understand us. We just have different methods of dealing with the pain, but now we can be each other's methods, Naruto. If you let me I know I can show you how wonderful it could be."

Naruto carefully pulled his arm back and refused to look at Gaara. Gaara hissed slightly and turned away. Naruto heard a sound of rustling and he glanced back over at Gaara

"I know you love Iruka in your own way," Gaara said and he brought around a vial and held it up, "and I know it hurts you can't help him. I love you, Naruto and I want to help."

Naruto gazed suspiciously at the vial and looked back up at Gaara.

"Gaara-"

"This will help I promise," Gaara pulled a needle out next and popped the sterilized top of it off and stuck it into the vial, drawing a large dose of what Naruto now knew was sand. "The pain is the worst and this…this is anything but pain."

Naruto gazed at the needle for awhile, all that he could think of was Iruka the only person who he thought was invincible the only person he never thought needed to be saved…and now all Naruto wanted to do was save him. The scenarios the horrifying ideas of what might have happened to Iruka were overwhelmingly painful it was true, and if Naruto was going to die before he got out of the Snake pit…

He didn't speak but nodded slowly with his consent, Gaara gave him a small smile, and grasped Naruto's arm. The rest was done quickly and Naruto didn't catch it all, Gaara tightened a rubber strip around Naruto's forearm and flicked the needle. Gaara looked at Naruto once before he plunged the needle into his skin.

The liquid sand burned harshly as it entered his veins and Naruto gasped and ground his teeth together to keep from making any loud noises. It took only seconds, however, for the pain to slowly ease into a blinding pleasure that Naruto had never felt before. For a quick and sudden moment all the sorrow and pain and horrifying nightmarish thoughts that had hounded Naruto for years were gone and it was replaced with utter joy as his mind was filled with…absolutely nothing.

Naruto felt like he was floating in a white open space, there was no pain there was no fear and hate, there was no one but him and a cool breeze that came from…well he didn't know where and he didn't care either. Everything in this world was amazingly and purely white and whole, there was no breaks no cracks of weakness it was just…nothingness, pure nothing that brought with it cool release and bliss.

Naruto floated there for awhile, letting the seemingly eternal delight take him where it willed there was nowhere to go nothing to see but Naruto felt he was sway and quickly rushing through the wide open nothingness, maybe in a circle? It didn't matter.

A sharp burst of pain interrupted Naruto's stupor just slightly, he felt the first sting of darkness entering his white paradise and he recoiled from it. Another sharp blast and…a ripping noise he thought. His mind was blurry and he wasn't quite sure what was happening.

A face loomed slowly into view veiled by the white nothingness but threatening to press in on him. Naruto backed away willing the nothingness to return but it didn't, the face was moving now with an intent, what was the face trying to do. Naruto felt something pulling away from his body and struggle for only a moment but disappearing quickly, another ripping noise and a breeze, this time it wasn't pleasant.

The face grew clearer and the whiteness started to fade into gray, stark gray like…like concrete. The pain struck again making the face become slightly clearer. Dark hair…black…no red, not dark at all! Did he know someone with red hair…? Another jolt of pain and a ripping sound, this time it was accompanied by ripping. The face grew closer and bobbed, Naruto saw eyes now, filled with desire and lust.

Naruto slowly looked over and saw his arm was bare beside him, and he tried to wiggle his fingers, they slowly responded. He moved his eyes back to the face and then down and saw something strange, his shirt was…gone and he was bare-chested what had…where did? Another pull and Naruto felt another rush of air. He felt a touch, burning and forceful as a hand gripped his hip.

With a slow blurry realization of what was happening to him Naruto looked back at the red haired person who was looming above him and for a sickening moment that faced morphed, transformed into a head that was covered with a black mask with eyes glittering with evil intent and a mouth that opened to whisper something…

"I love you…"

"STOP IT!"

With a jolt of panic and adrenaline Naruto blasted completely out of his drug induced fever, he commanded his arm to move and it obeyed and swinging with rage and fear he slammed his fist into the side of the mask covered attacker. The mask disappeared and as the face disappeared from his vision Naruto took a deep shuddering breath.

He sat up from the cot looking around him wildly. His shirt was torn into shreds and lying on the cot, his pants were nowhere to be seen. Groping quickly Naruto pulled his legs up to his chest and covered himself the best he could. He turned his head towards the door and saw Gaara groaning and holding the side of his face, writhing on the floor like a worm.

"What the hell-" Naruto's voice dropped from him and he couldn't stop the tears from flowing. Gaara looked up at him and Naruto saw the guilty and almost confused look Gaara gave him. Naruto couldn't find the words that would carry his rage.

Gaara struggled to stand up still holding his head, his pants were undone but still on and the flushed look of lust he had before was nowhere to be seen, Naruto thought he saw blood dripping from his mouth. Gaara felt the wave of heat and pure unadulterated hatred and rage roll from Naruto.

"I-I…Naruto-"

"I hate you," Naruto started quietly before his voice began to gradually rise, "I hate you, I hate you I HATE YOU, I HATE YOU-"

Gaara looked around him, he didn't seem to know what to do, he looked back at the pitiful sight that was Naruto, a trembling wreck with such a hurt and broken look in his eyes Gaara thought he might fall apart with one more look. Without uttering a word Gaara turned and pounded on the door, the locks turned and the door swung open, Gaara rushed out and the door slammed behind him.

Naruto stayed where he was, unable to stop his body from shuddering violently he slowly lowered his head unable to stop the tears from falling.

(A/N)I hope that wasn't too intense for you, as I said in earlier chapters things are only going to get darker from here, and the next couple of chapters will do exactly that! I want to have the next chapter up in a week, so keep an eye out as (spoiler) things are coming to a head in New York.

Thanks for reading!
