The sound of approaching footsteps brought Dustin back to awareness. He'd let himself drift into "the zone" while supporting Tori. Her weight on his chest was comfortable, and the ground underneath him was welcoming. Healing Adam had taken much more out of Tori than she'd anticipated, and though Dustin wasn't a body type, his connection to his earth element and ability to tap into and share his power was just as effective for supporting her. He made sure that while they waited for Shane Tori felt safe, secure and loved; and he was sure she could pick up on his awe and amazement at what she'd just been able to accomplish. Dustin knew that when it came time to talking about it, Tori would say it was a team effort and she couldn't have done it herself – but Dustin would be the first to argue that though he and Shane each had a part to play in Adam's healing, Tori had done the lion's share. It was truly astonishing what she'd done.
Dustin opened his eyes and turned his head slightly to the right. Shane was settling down next to him attempting to juggle a tray of food and a cardboard cup holder filled with drinks. The smell was too much for Dustin to resist. He sat up, bringing Tori with him. Dustin scooted backwards slightly so he could lean both himself and Tori against a nearby tree. She didn't protest; she just curled around so she could stay inside the circle of his embrace, and leaned up against him while he got settled. While Shane waited and watched them get organized he inhaled a burger he plucked off of the tray.
Once Dustin and Tori were ready, Shane started passing out the food. Dustin was sure that wherever Shane had gotten the food from, it was too late at night for it to be fresh; but it really didn't matter. It was the best tasting hamburger Dustin had ever eaten. Starving gave every food a certain appeal. For her part, Tori ignored the burger Shane passed her way and focused instead on consuming the entire bottle of water Shane gave her.
Around a mouthful of food Dustin asked, "Where'd you get the food, Shane?"
Shane answered around an equally full mouth, "Cafeteria."
"How'd you pay for it?" Tori asked, sounding a little groggy.
"Sensei." Shane explained. He swallowed and wiped his mouth. "After I left Adam and the others, I went to tell Sensei what we'd done. There was this guy with him…Carter?" Shane looked for some recognition in their faces, but neither one of them knew who Carter was either. Shane continued, "Sensei said he was the Lightspeed Rescue Red Ranger. They both got very excited and Carter went to find the doctor…Dana? I think they're married." Shane took one last bite to finish off his second burger and unconsciously reached for the third. "I told Sensei I was coming back down here to get you two, and he said I should get us something to eat." Shane chuckled. "He didn't have to tell me twice."
Dustin and Tori both laughed as well. Tori took a thoughtful bite of the burger Shane had given her. Then she pointed at the tray, "You're not really going to eat all of that, are you?" she asked in a slightly concerned tone. Although between the three of them they'd eaten six burgers – Dustin was now on his second – the tray was still piled high. Shane could eat a lot, and after all of the energy he'd expended he definitely needed to replenish it, but the thought of him eating all of that food made Tori slightly nauseous.
Shane grinned. "Nope. Once we get back upstairs I'm going to drop in on Conner's room. We at least got to eat back at Dr. O's house; Conner hasn't eaten in like a day or something. He's probably starving."
Tori nodded in understanding. "Good plan." Her head dropped down back into the curve of Dustin's neck.
Dustin looked down indulgently. "Unless you want to sleep here all night, Tor, we should get you back upstairs. Can you walk?"
She nodded, and Shane moved to give her a hand up. Between the two of them, Shane and Dustin collected the garbage and reorganized the food. With Tori between them, they headed out of the atrium and back upstairs. The first stop was Blake's room. Hunter and Cam were still snuggled together. Someone, probably Sensei, had tossed a blanket over them. Blake was sleeping peacefully as well. Dustin maneuvered Tori around the room until they were by Blake's bed. Unhesitatingly she climbed into the bed and lay back upon the pillows; but this time, instead of Tori curling herself around Blake, he moved and curled himself around her. Dustin thought that was a good sign. Tori was instantly asleep. Dustin thought that was a good sign too.
Shane stood holding the tray of food by Sensei near the middle of the room. He had offered the Ninja Master a burger, but their teacher had refused. "If the smell of the food hasn't woken Hunter up by now, I don't think it will." Shane stated. Dustin nodded in agreement.
"Conner?" Dustin asked. Shane nodded.
Leaving the other ninjas under the watchful eye of their teacher, Dustin and Shane made their way down the hall to Conner's room. It was far less crowded than the first time they'd been there earlier that day. The man sitting in the low chair by the bed looked up when they entered. Dustin didn't recognize him, but he thought it was safe to assume he was Conner's father. He'd been standing by Conner's bed when the Dino Thunder Rangers had arrived earlier, and had embraced Conner's twin when he came in. Mr. McKnight acknowledged Shane and Dustin with a nod, but he didn't get up. He turned his attention back to the bed.
The Ranger pile on the bed reminded Dustin strongly of a pile of puppies. There were a whole bunch of arms and legs, and one covered lump in the middle where someone had thrown a blanket over Kira. The petite Yellow Ranger was practically hidden from view. Conner, Ethan and Conner's twin where in semi-seated positions, with Conner in the middle, leaning more on his brother than Ethan. Everyone appeared to be sleeping soundly. Dustin gave Shane a look; he didn't think they should wake them. But the look Shane gave him in return was full of confidence that the need to eat would overrule the need for sleep. With a little grin he rattled the tray he was holding before he placed it on the bedside table, and made as much noise as possible unwrapping one of the hamburgers.
Dustin gave him a speculative look. Shane had a smug and knowing expression on his face. "Just give him a minute…" he encouraged Dustin.
Dustin looked back at the crowded bed, and shook his head. He turned back toward Shane. "The twin." he stated.
Shane grinned and answered, "Conner."
Mr. McKnight listened to the exchange with some amusement. Somehow, without really speaking, the two boys who had just entered the room had made some kind of bet as to who would wake up first. Evan was with the shorter, darker skinned boy; he'd put money on Conner waking up for food first. Conner had well developed radar when it came to mealtimes.
So it came as a surprise to all three men that Ethan was the first one to move. Shane actually let out a disappointed "awww". Ethan blinked sleepily and looked around. His startled cry of "Dustin!" woke Kira; and when he impulsively jumped up, both Kira and Conner were dislodged from their positions.
"Ethan!" was Kira's grumbled complaint. Conner didn't make a verbal response; he seemed to be trying hard to figure out his surroundings – particularly, why Kira was sleeping on him. But neither Kira nor Conner had a chance to examine the moment, because the instant Evan realized Conner was awake, he was on his feet. Kira, feeling the surge of emotion from Conner's father, quickly disengaged herself from Conner's embrace and slid off the bed so Evan could take Ethan's spot.
Evan, overwhelmed by the moment, pulled Conner into a fierce embrace. Eric joined in from Conner's right side. The Dino Thunder Rangers turned their attention to Dustin and Shane in a thinly veiled attempt to give the McKnights some semblance of privacy for their emotional reunion. Ethan reached Dustin first, and grabbed him in an enthusiastic hug. It was one thing for everyone from Haley to Dana to tell them that Dustin was fine, but it was something else to finally see him in the flesh. As soon as Kira maneuvered herself around the chair that Evan had vacated, she joined them.
By the time Dustin had answered the question "Are you okay?" four or five times, the McKnight family had recovered some semblance of balance. Evan had gotten back on his feet and quickly set off in search of a nurse who could contact Dana; he wanted reassurance from the Ranger's doctor herself that Conner was actually going to be fine. Conner had scooted to his left on the bed, making more room for Eric on the right.
Conner's face lit with a genuine grin when he realized it was Shane and Dustin who had brought the food. "Dustin!" he exclaimed, and then echoed his teammates' question. "Are you okay?"
Dustin good-naturedly explained yet again, that he was fine. Kira and Ethan both took up positions at the foot of Conner's bed; there was room enough since both Conner and Eric had moved to more upright seated positions. Shane, meanwhile, began handing out the food. Silence immediately descended as the Dino Rangers and Eric began to devour the burgers they'd been handed. Dustin was actually shocked to see Kira keeping pace with the boys; but then again, she'd invested just as much as any of the rest of them in keeping Conner connected, so he really shouldn't be surprised.
Before conversation could resume, Evan arrived with Dana in tow. She made a face when she saw what Conner was eating. She probably thought he should be eating soup or some other hospital type food; but to Dustin's way of thinking, there was nothing wrong with Conner's digestive system, and he probably needed a substantial meal to get him back on track. Conner, seeing the warning in Dana's face, hastily shoved the remainder of his hamburger into his mouth before he could be ordered to stop eating. The move made Ethan choke with laughter, and Kira promptly spit out the soda she'd started to sip. All three reactions got Eric going, and soon all four occupants of the bed were rolling with laughter.
Dana tried to quell the rising hysteria with a patented glare, but she couldn't maintain her façade in the face of so much glee. And honestly, she didn't want to – after everything they'd all been through, a giggle fit was nothing to be mad about and the laughter of the young Rangers was like music to her ears.
Dustin pulled Shane away from the group and headed toward the door. "Are you gonna stay here for a while?" he asked.
Shane nodded. "Yeah. Once the doctor is done, I figured I'd stay. Do the whole "body type" ranger thing. Don't know if he still needs it…." Shane's gaze wandered over to the bed. "…but I think I need to do it."
Dustin nodded in understanding. "I have something I need to do too."
Shane looked at Dustin's face searchingly. "Do you need me?"
Dustin considered the offer. On the one hand, he really did want Shane to go with him. What he had in mind was something he'd never tried before, and having Shane there would definitely make him feel more confident. But on the other hand, he had a feeling that the fewer people there were involved the better. Dustin made a decision. "No. This is something I've got to do on my own. But, thanks."
Shane hesitated a moment intensely searching Dustin's gaze. But the Yellow Ninja Ranger looked determined and composed. "Okay. But if you need me…"
"I'll know where you are." Dustin clapped Shane on the shoulder. "Thanks Shane."
Dustin turned and left the room. The sound of laughter echoed down the hall after him, and it made him feel confident that what he was going to attempt to do was right. Everyone else who had worked to free him from Mesogog's fortress was whole or healing, except the one person who had been with him the entire time – Tommy. Dustin had only glimpsed Tommy briefly before all hell broke loose in Conner's room, but the image was etched into his brain; Tommy was on the verge of collapse, crushed under the weight of the abuse he's suffered at Mesogog's hand.
It wasn't clear to Dustin exactly what happened to Tommy; there was too much he couldn't remember. Tommy hadn't looked good when Dustin had regained consciousness in Mesogog's lab, and he looked far worse earlier in Conner's room. But of greater concern to Dustin was how Tommy felt to him. The Black Ranger had been badly broken, and the strain of the weekend's events was likely to cause some permanent damage unless Dustin could do something about it.
Working with Tori to heal Adam had actually crystallized in Dustin's mind that his idea could work. He'd shared Adam's pain while Tori was working, and he realized that while the pain was intolerable when contained in one body, it was far more manageable when shared and almost negligible when passed on through his earth element. Dustin understood that Tommy's pain was not physical like Adam's, but he believed that it could be dealt with in the same way.
Dustin had been wandering on auto-pilot, allowing his sense of Tommy to lead him to where the Black Ranger was. Dustin stood before a door labeled "Staff Only". There was a light glowing under the door, and he could hear voices within. With no hesitation Dustin raised his hand to knock on the door, and without waiting for a response he opened the door and poked his head in. "Tommy?"
Opening the door to let himself in, Dustin surveyed the room. Against the wall to his right were a number of vending machines, including a coffee machine. A small round table with chairs for four was placed before them. Across the room on the left was a battered couch large enough to seat four, or comfortably sleep a tall doctor. There was a desk with a folding chair on the wall directly across from where Dustin was standing; and there appeared to be a small room to the left of the desk, probably for a doctor who needed to sleep on a real bed and not on the couch.
There were four people in the room when Dustin entered. Tommy was seated on the couch next to a dark-haired man wearing a red shirt. He reminded Dustin strongly of Shane. A lanky, sandy-haired man occupied the folding chair near the desk, but had moved it closer to the couch to make conversing easier; he would have reminded Dustin of Tori even had he not been wearing the requisite blue. A petite woman with caramel colored hair paused in her trek to the vending machines; Dustin felt like he knew her in an instant, and he saw a flash of recognition in her as well when her face lit up in a welcoming smile.
Dustin stepped fully into the room, and in the instant that Tommy saw him, all of the pain filled emotions that Dustin had been following to track Tommy down fell away, and for a moment he was filled with pure joy and relief. He jumped up from the couch and raced across the room; Dustin met him more than half way and they embraced warmly. The joy of the moment was short lived for Tommy; Dustin could easily pick up on how quickly his thoughts turned back to self-recrimination for not doing more; for being unable to prevent Mesogog from leeching Dustin's power away from him. The very image of Mesogog in his mind turned Tommy's thoughts to a much darker place, and though he was mostly able to hide his fear from his friends, he was unable to hide it from Dustin.
Tommy put on a fair show of enthusiasm greeting Dustin, but Dustin could feel how everything Tommy said was overshadowed by the encroaching darkness. And although he had many hours to recuperate, Tommy's mental state affected his physical ability and he was still unsteady on his feet. Dustin hadn't released Tommy completely when they broke apart from their embrace; he kept his left hand on Tommy's right elbow keeping him steady. The man who had been seated on the couch with Tommy had come to stand on Tommy's left side; not close enough to encroach on their reunion, but close enough to be of assistance if necessary. Dustin knew by the way Tommy unconsciously reacted to his friend's presence that what he had in mind would not work without his help.
All of these things and the other nuances of the emotional tenor of the room raced through Dustin's heart in mere moments. Tommy didn't seem to notice that Dustin hadn't released him, or maybe he wasn't willing to lose contact himself. He reached out to grasp Dustin's right shoulder. The Black Ranger's eyes were bright with unshed tears. "Dustin." he stated in a hoarse whisper. He looked deeply into Dustin's face as though to reassure himself that the Yellow Ninja was really standing there. "You're really okay?"
Dustin didn't suppress a chuckle; it was exactly the same question that all the other Dino Rangers had posed. He reached up with his right hand and squeezed the hand on his shoulder. "I'm really okay."
Tommy laughed with relief, and when he laughed Dustin caught a glimpse of the true joy Tommy should've been able to feel, just like the rangers he'd left behind with Shane. But too quickly Tommy's relief was overshadowed with the pain and fear he could not keep at bay. He tried not to let himself be overcome and turned his attention to the others in the room who had drawn closer.
"Dustin, these are my friends… my team. Jason, Billy, Kim." Tommy gestured with his left hand, still seemingly unaware that Dustin had not yet released him. But Jason sensed something was afoot and had fixed his gaze on the Yellow Ninja. Kim sensed something as well, but it was possible that she was so focused on keeping Tommy's pain at a distance that she couldn't clearly pick up on what Dustin was planning. Dustin just hoped that they'd understand enough to back him up.
Dustin nodded in greeting to each of the former Rangers. "It's nice to meet you," he began. "I just wish the circumstances would have been different…a picnic would have been nice."
Dustin's comment elicited smiles from the others, but nothing more; there was no laughter in this room – not yet. "I just left the other Ninjetti…"
"How's Adam?" asked Kim stepping closer.
Dustin paused a moment. "Tori healed him." he stated quietly.
"Tori what?" Billy asked coming closer as well. Tommy wavered a little on his feet; Jason laid a steadying hand on his back.
Dustin nodded to reinforce what he was saying as he caught each pair of startled eyes around the small circle that had been formed. "Tori healed him." Dustin repeated again. "She drew on her water element and healed him. It took a lot out of her, but Adam's going to be totally fine."
Now Kim was the one who was wavering slightly. Jason held out his free hand to steady her. Billy had closed in on Tommy's right side. "You're the only one left." Dustin continued softly as he directed his gaze at Tommy.
Tommy, stunned by the news about Adam, couldn't process what Dustin was saying. He looked at the Earth ninja with confusion on his features. "Blake…Conner…Adam…all of them are going to be okay. You're the only one left."
Tommy was shaking his head in the negative and seemed to suddenly realize that he was surrounded. Dustin could feel the tension flare in his stance, but he did not release the Black Ranger. Dustin knew he had very little time to act before Tommy was completely overcome by panic, but at the same time he could not pressure Tommy into doing anything; that would make everything so much worse. He instinctively knew that he had to take the focus off Tommy and put it on himself.
"This whole weekend…since we got grabbed on the beach, you've done everything in your power to keep me safe. I'm sure I don't even know the half of it. Somehow you and Sensei got all these retired Rangers back in the game just to help me out. I know I can never repay all of them…but I'd like to try to repay you."
The look on Tommy's face clearly indicated that Dustin didn't have to repay any debt, but Dustin knew that if their positions were reversed, Tommy would be feeling the same way. He was counting on it.
Dustin shook his head as he tried to order his thoughts. Then he decided that what he really needed to do was to speak from his heart; Tommy would understand, even if he did ramble a little. "This weekend has changed me…it's changed all of us, but not in a bad way. I've seen Shane and Tori do things I never imagined they could do. I can feel so much more than I ever realized…and knowing what I know now, I know I have to help you. Please Tommy, let me help you. There's just so much pain…"
Now it was Dustin who wavered slightly and Kim closed the circle between them by placing her left hand on his right side. Tommy's face had lost all color and he backed up slightly to be closer to Jason, but Dustin still hadn't released him. To the other Rangers in the room it was unclear what was passing between Tommy and Dustin; they had some idea what Shane could do as a body type, and the revelation of Tori as a healer seemed to fit into the conversation, but it was unclear what Dustin could do for Tommy.
Dustin was pleading now. "If you can trust me…if you can just let me in…I can share your pain and release it for you…please Tommy, let me try. It's all I can do for you."
Kim was the first one to understand what Dustin was asking. Though the issue had been skirted around, Tommy had yet to fully verbalize the extent of the invasion Mesogog had inflicted upon him. Kim was certain if any of the others, even Kanoi, had offered to ease Tommy's mental suffering he would have shut them down immediately, there was no way he could tolerate the touch of another in his mind so soon after the assault he had so recently suffered. But Dustin's power was not of the mind, it was of the heart; touching not on the physical mental assault but on Tommy's reaction to it. Kim herself would not have been able to get Tommy to open up to her; but with Dustin it was different. The fact that Tommy was considering what he offered at all gave Kim a glimmer of hope.
Tommy seemed to hover for an interminable moment, caught in indecision. In the end it was Jason who gave him the courage to accept Dustin's offer. "We're right here with you, bro." he stated softly to Tommy. "Nothing can hurt you here. We can get through anything – together." As he spoke, Jason moved closer to Tommy encircling his waist with his right arm and pulling Kim in closer on his left side. The movement drew Dustin closer as well. Billy closed ranks on Tommy's right side placing his arm around Tommy's shoulders and placing a hand on Dustin's shoulder on the other side. Dustin had never released Tommy's right arm, and reached out to take Tommy's left hand in his right.
Dustin looked up to catch Tommy's gaze; the Black Ranger was terrified nearly beyond reason, but the solid, physical presence of his friends gave him the courage to face the horrors he had so recently endured. Dustin called upon his ever present Lion spirit to bolster him for the task ahead. He was somewhat surprised when the Wolf, Crane and Falcon manifested as well. And somewhere, as though from a great distance, the cry of a Tyrannosaurus could be heard as well. Courage friends Dustin encouraged; and though the tight circle of rangers could not read his thoughts, they could feel his good will and intentions. With a nod to Tommy, Dustin indicated he was ready to begin.
A maelstrom of emotions assaulted the Earth ninja. Somewhere back in that hospital room Billy and Kim were keeping him upright, but that place was not connected to this place. They were back in Mesogog's fortress. Tommy was disoriented; Dustin's panic had disrupted his communication with Kanoi. In desperation Kanoi had breeched Tommy's mental barriers and dumped all of the information the Rangers and Haley had gathered into his mind in the hopes that he would have time to sort through it and understand all of it. Through all of the confusing mental chaos Tommy clearly understood one thing – Dustin had been attacked and he hadn't been able to prevent it.
Tommy came to consciousness slowly, trying to force his mind to reconnect with his body. Then no time was left, Mesogog entered the cell enraged. The initial assault was simply to inflict pain and release rage. Tommy couldn't withstand the attack; he crumbled helplessly before the power of the mutant. It was only after the others had left the room with Dustin in tow that the real attack began.
Over and over, Mesogog invaded Tommy's mind. At first he inflicted pain to vent his own frustration, but then he began to search with purpose. Grasping, seeking, extracting any information that could be useful, or used against the Rangers. Tommy was a prisoner in his own mind, helpless to stand against the strength of the invader. Once Mesogog recognized Tommy's weakness he inflicted pain with much more deliberation. He sought to create terror, shame and helplessness in the Black Ranger. He made sure that Tommy was defenseless and powerless; fully aware of his total victimization. Before he extracted himself from Tommy's mind he made sure to leave behind the excruciating details of his plan to wrest Dustin's life and power from him, and use it to break the remaining Dino Rangers all while Tommy watched helplessly.
All of this came to Dustin in a rush. Tommy's spiraling negative emotional response was far worse than Shane's panic attack and Dustin feared he would be lost in the chaos of it. But the steady presence of the Lion calmed him and helped him see what he had to do. Dustin knew he could not change the past; he could not take Tommy's experiences away from him – they were intrinsically tied to who he was. And Dustin knew instinctively that trying to take anything from Tommy at this point would be equated to anything Mesogog had tried to do. Instead of cutting Tommy off from what had happened, which was what Tommy had been trying unsuccessfully to do Dustin enabled him to share his experience.
He supported Tommy through the embarrassment of sharing; encouraging him every step of the way that there was no shame in what had happened to him. He had not let anyone down and no one faulted him for the attack. In a way, what Dustin did was give Tommy permission to feel what he was feeling – all of it. His own rage at what happened: fear, horror, disgust, shame, humiliation. His wish that someone…anyone…would be able to step in and stop what was happening, and his anger that they had not. His anger at Kanoi for breaking down his mental barriers making Mesogog's access so much easier. Even his anger at Dustin for freaking out so badly that the whole situation had gone so terribly wrong. He felt all of it, and Dustin did too.
And just as he had with Adam, once the pain was shared, Dustin was able to let it go.
Once the floodgates were released, Tommy was able to let himself be washed clean with the tide of emotions. Even some of the positive emotions were too much for him to handle alone; his unrestrained joy at seeing the Ninjetti enter Mesogog's lab was overwhelming, and tied up with past emotional responses. Dustin had to tread carefully there – though he could feel himself wanting to uncover and address those past issues, it skirted too closely to probing for information the way Mesogog had. So he steered clear of any emotional red flags that didn't seem directly tied to the events of the past weekend. Hopefully, once Tommy was balanced and back on his feet they could deal with those old wounds. But that was not the order of the day for today.
Dustin wasn't quite sure how to wrap up the encounter, but once again the Lion spirit stepped in and showed him the way. The Lion embraced Dustin warmly with his presence and overwhelmed him with feelings of pride, reassurance and love. Dustin knew without knowing that the other animal spirits had done the same as well. They would always have the memory of the encounter they had shared, but the pain associated with it would be distanced and powerless.
Slowly Dustin's awareness returned to his body. The five of them had somehow ended up seated on the floor. Dustin had pulled Tommy into an embrace, and the Black Ranger was trembling in reaction in his arms. But Jason had pulled both Tommy and Dustin into an embrace of his own, and that seemed to give Tommy the strength he needed to continue on. Dustin was not embarrassed in the least at the tears that streamed unchecked down his face, and was not surprised to see all of the others were tear streaked as well. The final encounter with their animal spirits left them with feelings of joy, well-being and a job well done. Although, in spite of how well Dustin was feeling emotionally, physically he felt like he'd just finished running a marathon.
Dustin pulled back slightly to give Tommy a little room, but Tommy kept a hold of his hand. "Thank you, Dustin." Tommy's expression was one of awe, and Dustin could see in his face how deeply he appreciated the gift that had been given.
"You're welcome." he stated simply and let his contentment resonate through their clasped hands.
Tommy must have felt like he'd run two marathons because in the next instant he was truly and deeply asleep. Between them, Jason and Billy maneuvered Tommy to the couch. While they worked, Kim and Dustin sat side by side on the floor. It occurred to Dustin that he might want to find someplace to crash; suddenly the floor looked very inviting. Then a familiar presence knelt beside him. Dustin didn't have to see him to recognize that Shane had arrived.
"Hey….you all done here?" asked Shane softly.
Dustin looked with satisfaction at the others in the room. He smiled softly to himself, and then he nodded. Kim and Shane helped him get to his feet. Getting to the doorway wasn't hard, but the hallway sure looked intimidating. Suddenly, another familiar presence was by his side, taking over for Kim on the left.
"I will take it from here, young Crane. See to the Falcon. Shane and I will take care of Dustin."
"Thank you, Sensei." answered Kim softly.
Buoyed by the familiar presences of his mentor and his friend, Dustin managed not to collapse until they brought him to a cot that had been set up in Blake's room. But when his head hit the pillow all he knew was happy oblivion.
Merry Christmas to all, and to all a good night:-)
