Vaan hadn't thought he would find Larsa as much fun as he did.
The young prince assumed everything you told him was true and that everyone was being as serious as he was, and that made him fun to harass. That, and his reactions to things were hilarious.
Overall, even if he figured out he was effectively being messed with, he still took it well.
Vaan spent a lot of time sharing stories, both true and not, with Larsa just to see his reaction. But during one practically boring burst of traveling, he realized there was a great story he hadn't told him yet.
"Remember the Dreadnaught Leviathan?" he asked casually.
Larsa nodded, "Yes,"
"Remember it blew up?"
"…Yes," he replied, looking confused as to where this was headed.
Vaan grinned, "So, funny story about that…Judge what's-his-face took the Dawn Shard from us,"
"Ghis," Larsa interjected helpfully.
"Yeah, whatever." Vaan waved the comment off. "He took the Dawn Shard from us and blathering on about studying it or something, and he walks off with it,"
Larsa sighed, "Yes, I know that already,"
"No, no," Vaan said, holding up his hands, "this is the best part. So, they take the Dawn Shard and put it in the airship's engine,"
"What?!"
"Yeah, I know, that was kind of our reaction." he explained, snickering. "So, you know the rest of the story; bad reaction from sticking a magical bomb into an airship engine and no more 8th fleet! Plus, we ended up getting the shard back…"
Larsa rolled his eyes, "I always knew Ghis was less intelligent then the rest of the Judges, but…"
"This is a new level of stupid?" Vaan offered helpfully.
The prince frowned, "Indeed."
"Hey, I just think it makes for a good story. Here you all are, blaming our little rag-tag group of six people for the destruction of one of your best fleets, and really it was your own guy."
He grinned sheepishly, "Don't get me wrong, I'll take the credit…"
"You realize even after the war has ended you can still be charge for war crimes, correct?" Larsa asked flatly, staring at him.
There was a pause.
Vaan narrowed his eyes, "Are you…being sarcastic right now? I can't tell…"
Larsa just kept staring, expression impassable.
Vaan frowned, "Well, fine, blame Ghis then. He did chuck a powerful treasure into an airship engine."
"Very true." The prince agreed with a nod. He frowned, "That makes us look evil and stupid,"
"I wasn't going to say anything, but yeah, it kind of does."
"…How many people have you told this story too?" Larsa asked looking up at him.
Vaan chuckled, "Everyone."
He sighed, "Wonderful…"
I forgot I never wrote this one up!
I remember the first time my brother and I played this game, Ghis said something along the lines of putting the Dawn Shard into the engine and we looked at each other like this - 0_0
Haven't updated in awhile, but for now this is the last outstanding idea...this requires a play-through, clearly...
