Vaan was currently bartering with the trader in the Mushu Bazarr "Then it's settled, for four succulent fruits you'll give me some potions, handkerchiefs, and golden needles."
He turned to Penelo "Can I have some of those succulent fruits in the bag."
An embarrassed Penelo looked in the bag "Ummmm Vaan can we talk in private"
Vaan sighed and walked over to her, he knew they had collected a lot of items along the way but really, how hard could it be to find. "What is it Penelo?" he asked.
She leaned in close "The Succulent Fruits went bad"
He was puzzled "How did that happen?" "They were right next to the Maggoty Flesh and they rotted" she told him.
He sighed "I'll go make a different deal then, what else do we have?"
She looked embarrassed "Well we lost a few other things that just didn't interact well together in the bag."
"Like what?" he asked confused.
"Well for starters the foul liquid got mixed with the green liquid so they are both useless, the death powder got on the life wick and made it unsellable, we were carrying the Ring Wyrm liver around long enough that is started to rot on its own, and the bomb fragments we were carrying were too close to the fire crystals so they ignited and took out a whole bunch of things."
Vaan looked at her for a moment "I think the first deal we need to make is for a better bag, one with separate pouches."
Penelo nodded "I agree"
Vaan had a thought "Maybe I can still sell the rotted fruit calling it "fermented" instead of "succulent" "
Penelo shook her head, Vaan's schemes never made much since when they began, but they had an uncanny way of working out in the end. She supposed she should just let this scheme play out after all it was extremely likely that she might get a new helmet out of this.
I fully believe he would attempt to continue bartering...
Also, the bag containing everything greatly disturbed my brother, what with the rotting flesh and such...and you know? He has a point...but then again...magic! That must be it...
