With a final blow Basch drove his great axe down into the skull of the Scythe Mantis and watched the bug collapse to the ground.
He retrieved the bag of loot that had been dropped and marveled about the fact that no matter what type of monster or how they were killed they always had their belongings in the same style and color of a bag. He untied the string and looked inside to find some tattered garments.
He looked at his companions "You know I have to wonder why some dead guy's tattered clothes can still be sold to the shops in this kingdom. You would think it would have little or no value."
Balthier gave a flippant laugh as he picked up another bag left behind by another fallen praying mantis monster "You think that's funny, last time I was at a shop in Rabanastere I sold pebbles for a Gil a piece!"
Ashe shook her head "And people wonder why we are at war, it's because of our economy! I mean shops are buying random items for outlandish prices and Archadia's economy is just run on gossip!"
"And good deeds!" Vaan interrupted "Never forget the good deeds!"
Ignoring him Ashe continued "How am I supposed to bring peace to kingdoms that can't even figure out what commodities are valuable?"
"You should do good deeds" said Fran in her deadpan tone of voice that betrayed no sarcasm "Apparently they are more valuable than gold"
Appreciating her deadpan humor Vaan wordlessly held up his fist and was rewarded with a silent fist bump from Fran.
He wasn't about to let the stupidity of the chops die.
Here's the second chapter, as promised.
Tell me you don't envision the Fran character model fist pumping the Vaan character model and want that to happen...come on!
And my brother, ever the encomiast, is confused by the kingdoms sources of goods and prices...I can't say I blame him, but when your in a world like Final Fantasy, what's there to say? And sadly, 12 is one of the better ones in terms of The Sense-Making.
And yes, the "Good Deeds" has become a thing, now.
