I have a lot more followers and favorites then my other story. Maybe it's cuz Naruto is awesome? I don't know. Anyway, enjoy! I'm going back to third person too by the way.
Yugito's POV
By this point, Yugito was tired of constantly being chased down and caged. This time she wondered if she would even bother to fight back.
"You've been declared as wanted throughout the country. Kumogakure already lost track of one jinchuuriki. They'd rather not lose another. Especially now." A samurai explained while Yugito listened with curiousity.
I knew there was rumors of a war for the bijuu happening but I didn't think it would be put into motion. Yugito thought, suddenly feeling guilty that she left the village and did something reckless and idiotic. Still she felt like with every step she took away from Kumogakure, she was getting closer to something more important.
Are we going back to Kumogakure now? Matatabi asked. Yugito pictured the giant flaming cat waking up from her nap and seeing the world through her eyes.
I guess. They need me anyways. Yugito replied, feeling better now that she had said it.
Sometimes, you can be so loyal, like a dog. I'm beginning to envy that other jinchuuriki and Gyuki. Always roaming around whenever they feel like it.
We can't all be slackers.
We can't all be uptight.
Yugito decided to shut up, trying to get her hands comfortable in the metal chains binding her arms. Fighting with the cat would get her nowhere. She looked around finally noticing the snow start to fall again and the orange sky disappear, replaced by clouds. Several other samurai surrounded her, about ten of them, all equipped with swords and armor. It was impossible to see their faces. Even their eyes were covered with a red frame on their masks. They walked in silence in some sort of phalanx. Two at the front, four by her sides, and four in the back. Maybe they were afraid she'd try to escape.
Yugito took in her surroundings, most of it was covered in a light blanket of snow but she could tell it was rocky plain on a dirt road. There were several big rocks anyone could hide behind.
And then a shiver went down her back. Her senses immediately flared up. She listened and looked around carefully. There was a familiar scent here, however faint it was.
There. She heard it. A light chuckle coming from behind in upcoming rock and the inhaling and exhaling of a living, breathing human.
Yugito paused as the pieces came into place. Why did she ever allow herself to get caught? She was about to be in a worse situation then she ever imagined.
"Stop dawdling, I have to get you back to my village before nightfall." A samurai said, gently pushing her ahead.
"No, I can't go any further..." Yugito whispered. She heard the chuckle again.
"Why? Decided to run away again?"
"The Akatsuki. They're here. You can't let them have me!" She yelled. She thought about that maniac, Hidan and his greedy partner Kakuzu. Too persistent...too damn persistent! Yugito thought angrily.
The samurai laughed, "Sure...come on sweetheart, let's not take too long, oka-"
He never got to finish his sentence. Out from the rock ahead a figure jumped out, throwing his scythe connected by some sort of wire to a handle. It turned and stabbed the samurai in his side, causing him to cry out in pain. The figure moved the wire and threw the samurai onto the ground.
"Teishi!" One samurai called out.
"Form a defensive circle around the captive. She's not to be harmed!" The samurai moved into position, following what looked like the captain's orders.
The figure landed on the ground with his friend only a few steps away. Yugito could've recognize that crazy grin anywhere.
"Shit!" She whispered as she watched Hidan laugh aloud and Kakuzu reach his side.
Hidan only chuckled and lifted his scythe, "Here kitty, kitty! Come to daddy..."
Naruto's POV
"You're leaving?" Sakura asked, watching Naruto pack his bags furiously.
"Don't tell, Grandma okay?" Naruto replied, looking around for his weapons. He was already annoyed by her presence when she suddenly showed up at his door to check on him. After she saw everything scattered around a duffel bag she forced her way in. But he wasn't interested in talking. He felt enraged and depressed at the same time, he just wanted to get out of this place and do what he needed to do.
"Where are you going? Why are you leaving?" Sakura persisted.
Naruto remained silent, ignoring her.
"Naruto, I asked you a question." Sakura continued.
"It's none of your business okay? Can't you just leave me be?"
"I don't want you to go off and do something stupid. If you haven't noticed you do that a lot."
"Stop babysitting me, I can take care of myself."
"I know things are a bit hard for you but-"
"Sakura, Enough! Just leave me alone!"
"Tell me where you're going and I might just consider leaving."
"Fine, if you want to know the truth then I...I can't let the Akatsuki get away with this. I'm going to hunt them down and kill them like I did with Pain!"
"Are you serious? That's why you need to leave? There's a war that's going to start, no one knows when, and you're deciding now to just waltz out of here? There's no point in getting revenge."
"You don't understand, Sakura! Everything is my fault! I have to find some way to fix what I've done."
"Sometimes that's impossible. Face reality, Naruto. Just because you kill Kisame doesn't mean Kiba's going to grow his arm back, or Hinata and Akamaru will come back to life or we'll find Sai. Think, Naruto. You're just going to end up like..."
She stopped and shook her head, staring at the cracks in the ceiling. Naruto threw his bag down and looked at her, "Like Sasuke right? That's what you wanted to say, right!?"
"Naruto, just..."
"Don't, Sakura. I have to do this. If I take down the Akatsuki there'll be no more war you have to worry about."
"If you try you'll die. There's no doubt in my mind. Remember back when we saved Gaara? I had to stop Sasori from continuing the extraction while you took Gaara away." Sakura began, "I barely lived and Chiyo died. What makes you think you can take down all of them? By yourself?"
Naruto placed his head in his hands, "I have to try. I won't give up until my heart stops beating, Sakura. I'm sorry but you can't stop me. I never give up, and that's my ninja way."
Naruto placed the last of his food in the duffel bag and slipped it onto his back. Sakura placed a hand on Naruto's shoulder stopping him in his tracks. He turned, wondering if this was the last time he would see her.
"
She moved closer and placed her pale hands on his cheeks, pushing herself against Naruto. She seemed to be taking in every detail of him, from his blue eyes, to the lines on his cheeks and his blonde hair. From this close Naruto felt suddenly exposed and dizzy. He could see her blink away tears and draw her head closer to Naruto.
"Don't get yourself killed, or I'll never forgive you." She whispered into his ear, pulling away and planting a warm kiss on his cheek.
"I'll be back, Sakura." Naruto said, climbing out of his window, "You can count on it."
Fu's POV
"No...NO!" Sejio-Ro shouted out, falling to his knees. The great Takigakure tree was burning and screams filled the air. Flaming branches fell onto wooden houses and people ran about trying to find their family and gather their belongings.
"My beautiful village! Why?" Sejio-Ro moaned. The security guards walked up to Fu and the Kage. As Fu looked at them she realized they were different. As if they had been switched with another. Fu began to slowly walk backwards, afraid.
"You're a fool, Sejio. Just like your father and the whole entire Ro clan." A voice said from a far. It sounded enticing, like a snake luring a rat into a trap, then eating it with a sudden move.
"Mouzu! Get me my katana!" Sejio yelled at the guards walking slowly toward us. Their eyes were rimmed with pitch black and their irises were a pale white. Like big moons.
"How interesting...I remember when I fought against Takigakure in the war. A weak bunch they were." One of the guards said. He was dressed in unfamiliar clothing. He wore an Iwagakure flak jacket with a one-sleeve shirt underneath. His light brown hair stuck out in spikes and his jaw lines made him look grumpy and frightening.
The other one had a Konohagakure flak jacket with a long sleeved shirt underneath. A cap with a Konoha insignia on the front covered most of his hair, with the exception of a few strands sticking out. Dark lines were under his eyes and two swords were in his hands, he threw one of them to Sejio's feet as he stared at them.
"Who are you!?" Sejio screamed gripping the handle of the blade tightly.
"I am Hayate Gekko of Konohagakure." The Konoha ninja said.
"Gari of Iwagakure." The other one stated. "We should be dead, but I guess someone has brought us back to the world of the living."
Fu raised an eyebrow, wondering what this meant. Dead don't live. That's not possible...what is going on? She longed to be far away from this place like always. She wished so desperately that she could've escaped that night a few days ago. That she could've just left and never had to worry about anything ever again. Now she was stuck here. Fu could sense the power of these two ninja and they were unlike anything she'd ever seen. They would kill her father and then kill her in a matter of seconds.
Fu heard a roar coming from the burning village behind her. All of a sudden a massive onslaught of people came up from the pond in the center of the village. Although some already carried lit torches and were setting whatever they could on fire, another wave of them seemed to be coming in.
"Hand over the jinchuuriki and no one will die." The voice said, snapping Fu back to the situation at hand.
"You...you're the Akatsuki aren't you? We had a deal! I give you the jinchuuriki and you leave Takigakure alone." Sejio shouted.
"There's been a change of plan. My partner in crime has decided we just eliminate you now and take the jinchuuriki. We know you're hiding two in this village anyway." The voice explained.
Han...Fu immediately thought. An image of the people rising from the pond flashed through her mind as she realized what was going on and what she needed to do.
"You bastard! Come out now!" Sejio retorted.
"No thank you, I prefer to let my pawns fight for me." The voice responded. It came out sounding calm and soothing as if they were words said to a child. It sent a shiver down Fu's spine.
Before anyone could make a move, Fu let the wings on her back spread out and move, making her hover in the air.
"Ninja Art: Scale Powder Technique!" She shouted blowing a yellow powder from her mouth and making the others' vision blurry. She began to fly away, avoiding the falling branches and covering her mouth, trying not to breathe in all this smoke. her vision was cloudy and she could barely even see. Everything was red and orange and gray, the only sounds she could hear were screams and cries of pain. She could barely here herself think.
And then a sharp pain spread throughout her body and she heard a sickening crack. She cried out feeling blood come from her mouth. Her back seared in pain and the robe she wore was beginning to catch on fire. A log...it hit me...She managed to realize as she fell through the air. The wind forced her to shut her eyes and she couldn't tell if she was about to hit the ground yet.
Fu... Chomei said. I think...I think this is the end. When you hit the ground...well you know either way we're going to be separated.
I know. Fu replied. Suddenly she was in a grassy meadow, with birds chirping and the sun shining onto her brown skin. A man sat next to her with dark blue hair and a wide grin on his face. His eyes were golden and he wore a long coat with ordinary pants. He was barefoot but he seemed so familiar.
"Chomei?" She asked reaching to touch him.
"Don't touch me. It might break the illusion." The man answered, staring ahead.
"I...I'm sorry." She looked around at the hastily created world surrounding her. It was beautiful, the last thing she'd ever see before she would die.
"What reason do you have to be sorry? It's my fault you're here anyway. I just wanted to do something good for you." Chomei said.
"Don't say that. You...helped me. With everything. I couldn't have gotten this far without you. Even talking to you just lifted my spirits when everyone else wouldn't even look me in the eye. You and my mom made my life a whole lot better."
"Fu...I..." This time he looked straight into Fu's eyes with total sincerity. "I'm glad you were my host. I couldn't have picked a better one."
Fu's eyes widened and a smile grew on her lips. She leaned back and stared at the blue sky.
"This place is a pretty good place to die anyway. So thanks for that too."
Before Fu could here Chomei's response she sucked in a giant breath as pain returned to her in shocking waves. All she could do was groan and scream. Everything seemed to be getting darker and darker. Chomei suddenly burst into flames, his expression dark and saddened. Smoke rose from the ground and she Fu fell forward onto her stomach. She watched as the world created by Chomei faded away to smoke and fire.
And so did Fu.
