Hola my readers, reviewers, or whoever you are, I am back! My god it's been forever. Sorry for that really long wait. College is college and it's so effing annoying. Anyway, I'll save the rambling. I'm hoping you like this chapter and don't forget to give your opinions in the form of a review. I'll even take negative criticism. Enjoy!
Roshi's POV
Three of them. Roshi counted three. Two of them were Kumogakure ninja and the other was a Konohagakure ninja. But they all had beasts within them. All he had to do was get close and convince them to run. He'd run into enough ANBU ninja to know that they needed to escape Konoha, now.
He leaped onto the ground, fully aware of the incoming chakra signatures. He then ran toward the clearing where the three jinchuuriki were, the light that had rained down from the heavens was gone but it could be seen from miles away. A beacon of sorts.
Better not take too long, those pesky Konoha ninja know where you are. Son advised.
Not now! Roshi shouted back.
He emerged from the forest and entered the clearing moving as fast as his legs could manage. He slid to a stop near the Kumogakure woman. She was curled up into a ball and was shivering ever so slightly. The other two were dumbfounded, standing like idiots.
"Listen up! You two better follow me, we need to get out of here!" Roshi ordered. The blue-eyed boy and the shades-wearing man faced him, even more confused.
Ninja from the surrounding area flew out of the forest and toward them. Roshi had no escape now. They had to fight their way out if they were to leave without being captured.
"Hey! Old man! Get us out of here if you really can!" Blue Eyes yelled. Roshi let out a sigh, annoyed by the boy's disrespectful attitude. The boy stared at the other Kumo ninja backed against a tree and whispered something. Then their eyes went wide and they pulled out whatever weapon they had on them.
"Stop! There's no point in fighting us, you're severely outnumbered and any attempt to escape will force us to kill you." One of the ANBU yelled. Most of them were ready to attack, only one word would make them move. There was a multitude of ANBU and only four jinchuuriki. He doubted they could move very far.
Hand over the reins to me, Roshi. It's a simple choice. It's your only escape as well. The loud, booming voice spoke with a small hint of excitement.
I'm not an idiot nor am I insane. Giving you control means letting you run rampant. I won't let that happen. Roshi rejected.
You're a poor, old man, Roshi. One day you will end up dead. Son continued.
I'll welcome death when I truly am old and brittle. Roshi said.
He clapped his hands together and yelled, "Corrosion Style! Ring of Lava!"
The ground around Roshi and the other three heated up quickly and a lava began to protrude from the ground. Soon the ground had been replaced by lava and the ANBU members were trying to stop it from spreading with their Water Style but it was to no avail. Some of them were swallowed up by the burning magma, others managed to escape. They threw kunai and paper bombs at the four jinchuuriki which hit the dirt platform they were on blew up and lava replaced it.
The Kumo ninja sprouted a tentacle and used it to grab the other two. He sprouted another one and used its suction cups to attach himself to a tree. They hit the ground safely while Roushi sailed directly into the lava. It didn't affect him at all. A perk of being the Four Tails jinchuuriki, he guessed.
He went to Son's dimension for a minute. The giant monkey sat there watching Roshi with surprise.
What do you want? He asked.
I need some of your energy for a second. Not a lot. Just enough to fend off these black ops ninja. Roshi asked.
I'll think about it...Son replied.
There's no time to think! It's now or never! Please! Roshi begged.
Son let out a great big sigh and placed a finger on Roshi's forehead. In a second he was back in reality with power coursing through his veins. It felt like he was on fire but the pain was welcomed instead of cursed.
He burst out of the lava and landed safely in front of the ANBU. The magma behind him lit up the forest with a red glow and set some of the trees on fire. The other three jinchuuriki were nowhere to be seen. I'll find them later. Roshi thought. Right now, I think I'll stay and clean up this little mess.
Utakata's POV
"How much longer 'till we're out of this place! I hate Kirigakure so much!" Hotaru complained. She took a sip from her metal canteen full of water and sat it down next to her.
"Calm down. We have to be very careful when we're adventuring. After all there's two jinchuuriki and the daughter of a very rich and powerful family in this little group." Utakata pointed out.
"But still. It's so boring and there's all this mist and damp air and it's just unbearable! Besides you haven't been teaching me anything lately."
Utakata rolled his eyes and ignored the girl's whining. It was still odd how the mist was still so thick and cold even though they had traveled a good enough distance from Hotaru's clan. In fact, they should've left Kirigakure by now.
"Something's wrong." Utakata immediately said. He was alert by now and searched the forest around him for any signs of ninja. They could have been trapped in a genjutsu. Or someone could be casting a mist jutsu. It was impossible to tell.
"What do you mean?" Hotaru asked.
"Your right, Hotaru. There is a lot of mist which is very unnatural. We should be out of Kiri by now, but we're not."
Suddenly from the thick mist around them emerged dozens of senbon. The trio didn't have time to react as the senbon pierced and cut their skin. Utakata saw Hotaru collapse and scream out in pain while he himself barely stood. He couldn't feel his arms and blood trickled down his blue robe. Yagura seemed to be in a better condition. He had retrieved his hook staff fast enough to protect most of his body.
"Targets identified." A soft voice spoke. But it was unclear where it came from. "I'm going to finish the job."
The outline of a dark figure could be seen through the mist but Utakata could barely do anything. He finally fell to the ground, unable to stand any longer. The dark figure weaved hand signs and ice began to form around everyone's feet. The air became extremely cold and Utakata shivered uncontrollably.
He was more worried about Hotaru who wasn't even conscious. But Yagura was already moving.
He swung his hook staff and broke the ice around his feet. He then hopped on top of it and weaved hand signs as well. From his mouth erupted hot water that was aimed at the shadow. It quickly moved to the right and threw more senbon.
Yagura jumped onto the ground and dodged the senbon. He then took his hook staff and slammed it onto the ground.
"Water Style: Coral Reef Barrier!" He shouted. As he said it, sea corals sprouted from the ground and surrounded Utakata and Hotaru. They grew so tall that it resembled a thick forest.
Yagura sighed and looked at Utakata who stared at him in awe.
"Can you stand?" He asked as he removed the ice surrounding Utakata's and Hotaru's body.
"I don't think so." Utakata answered. "The senbon h-hit all the right areas."
Yagura then proceeded to weave more hand signs and lifted his hands into the air. He waved them around and a ball of water began to form in the air. He threw it onto the ground and a wave of water erupted from it. It lifted the trio into the air and pushed them north. Utakata was amazed, he could barely even lift his arms, much less send chakra to his hands or feet and he could still float on this water.
"It has to be some kind of mist genjutsu. We've been going around in circles or something but it's a genjutsu." Yagura whispered to himself.
Utakata turned his head back to see something unimaginable.
The water was turning to ice at an incredible pace.
And the source of it was on lone figure working his way closer to the front of the wave where Utakata and the others were located.
"Yagura!" Utakata shouted. The Mizukage turned quickly, first to me then behind him. His eyes focused on the ice ninja. In his hands were senbon that he released all at once.
Yagura couldn't move away in time. Utakata watched as the senbon pierced his body and his right eye.
