Drowning In You
Chapter 10: Everything Left Unsaid

Percy didn't know what to do anymore. He felt as though something was broken- terrible broken. His body, his mind, his heart- everything was crushed. There were so many times through out the night when Percy picked up the phone, desperate to call Nico, to hear his voice. He wished the boy had been there with him. He wished he had never confronted Nico about the kiss with Leo, knowing that there had to be a reasonable explanation. He felt angry, hurt, guilty, and, most of all, scared. He wasn't scared for himself, but for Nico and what was going to become of there relationship. To tell the truth, he still loved Nico, with all his heart. He wanted to tell the boy how much he truly cared, how much the boy meant to him, but he couldn't. Not now anyways. His pride wouldn't let him come crawling back.

Even though his pride was holding him back, eventually Percy just plain out said fuck it. He didn't give a damn about his pride anymore, causing him to end up in front of Nico's door, not knowing whether he should knock or not. Holding his head down he swallowed the huge lump in his throat. Not knowing if he would be rejected or accepted, he shut his eyes, held his breath, and rapped harshly on the door. There was a moment of hesitation where Percy thought of running, though of throwing up his hands and forgetting the entire thing. However, when he tried to move his feet, they wouldn't budge, almost as though his legs were molded to the hard wood flooring of the porch. After a few moment, Percy let out a whoosh of breath, figuring no one was coming to the door due to the fact that no one was going to answer. Without really thinking about it Percy reached up once more a knocked on the door. He cursed under his breath as he realized he had just doomed himself, now hearing footsteps rustling from beyond the divider of wood. Grabbing the railing of the porch, Percy began to panic, now realizing it was trickling down to this. He had shoved Nico, cursed at him, hurt him, made him cry and now he was here, apologizing with all that was in him. He did know how to do this or what he would say, but there was no time to start planning now. He was just going to have to roll with it.

The door began to creak open slowly as though the person on the other side was expecting a bomb. Percy shook from side to side, hoping that Nico wouldn't slam door automatically. Instead the door swung open widely, exposing the person fully. Percy anticipation and fear flooded away in that one moment, bring replaced by relief and, to his most surprise, a pinch of annoyance. Bianca gazed at him with curiosity- as though he was a creature from a strange land. She stood there for a moment before stepping back and allowing Percy to start into the house.

"So, what are you doing here?" Bianca asked with a slight bitterness in her voice, although she tried to sound light and cheerful. Percy looked at her for a moment, shaking his head and not bothering to respond to her question.

"Where's Nico?" He asked gruffly, moving through the house as though it was his own, "I really need to talk to him."

"Oh," Bianca followed after him, not wanting to leave the boy alone in her house. It wasn't that she didn't trust Percy it was just that he had done something to her brother, something that Nico didn't want to talk about. It didn't matter what Percy had done to upset Nico, but he made her brother cry and that was unacceptable. If her was going to hurt here little brother than she wanted nothing to do with him. Clearing her throat, Bianca responded, "He's not here right now, but if you want to talk to him than sit down and wait. I don't like you sitting her pacing around our house."

"Really? Why? Did I do something wrong?" Percy spoke the words innocently as though he had no idea why Bianca would reject him.

"To tell you the truth, you did something horribly wrong. Nico cried all last night and he was crying this morning. I don't care what he did to you or what you did to him, but if you make my brother cry then you better watch out. I never and I mean never want to hear him cry like that again. If you hurt him then you better have a damn good apology." Bianca insisted. Percy looked at with surprise, although he should have expected her response. He knew Nico had been upset, but he never knew the boy had been that hurt although, once again, it was expected.

"I really didn't mean to make him cry. I wouldn't have done that if I had known it would hurt him so bad." Percy said honestly as he fiddled with the hem of his shirt, twisting the fabric harshly in his hands. After a moment her turned to the girl before him, "Listen Bianca, I know Nico is hurting. I know I said some things to him that I really, really shouldn't have, but I want to make it up to him. Well, as long as he's willing to accept my apology."

"Actually, he probably won't." Bianca said truthfully as she glared at him, "Percy, you know he won't wait around for you forever. Actually I believe he is out with Leo right now. Or maybe it's Luke. Either way, he's out with someone else."

Bianca enjoyed the look on Percy's face as he tried to cope with her words. She knew that wasn't entire true- Nico had said he was going to visit some of his friends, which could have been Thalia, Grover, or anyone else. She watched his face twist into a sour look of anger, not wanting to entirely believe that Nico was out with someone else. There was a moment of silence as Percy glanced between Bianca and the clock on the wall, although the girl was unsure why the time mattered. Percy gave a sigh of defeat before siding down onto the couch, looking angry and slightly sorrowful. Without saying another word, Bianca came and sit beside Percy, feeling slightly guilty as she realized how much that had actually hurt Percy. Everything was an absolute disaster.

"Actually, I'm not sure if that is were Nico is, so don't get to worried just yet, alright?" Bianca muttered weakly under her breath before inhaling deeply through her mouth. She liked Percy, like he was her own brother, but she wasn't sure what to do anymore.

Percy rocked on the edge of the couch gently before bending his head down, running loose fingers through his hair, "Alright. Alright, I guess I could come back later. J- just call me when Nico gets home. I really need to talk to him."

Percy stood up from the couch tenderly before looking back at Bianca. He gave her a sort of salute as he began stalking towards the door, a faint smile fading on his face. Percy stopped when the front door began to creak open, a call echoing through the house, "Bianca! I'm home!"

Percy grinned sloppily to himself as he listened to the soft, lightness in his voice. He loved that sound. However, after a moment all the love in his heart froze. Another voice came from the doorway, along with a few giggles from Nico. Bianca sensed the other boy's dramatic change automatically, realizing how Percy stiffened, how his body stopped moving. Bianca could swear she heard his heart beating out of his chest.

"Hello, Bianca, although I don't know you! We're home!" Nico laughed at the other voice although bitterness flooded Percy's heart with each word.

Without a moment of hesitation Percy began to move down the hallway, stalking forward with a protective sort of authority. Bianca, who was now on her feet, rushed after him, grabbing his arms and calling out his name in a harsh whisper. The boy didn't even hear her at that moment. Rushing to the front door, Percy stopped suddenly, pain crashing down on top of him as though he was drowning. The look on Nico's face was shocked, mixed with surprised and a hint of hatred, hands still suspended as he started hanging his coat on the hook beside the door. Luke didn't even notice Percy, not until the boy came up to him, shoving him harshly against the wall. Luke staggered, bewildered as to what was going on.

To much happened in that one moment. Luke darted out the front door, still slightly frightened by the other boy. Nico grabbed Percy's shoulders, shoving him back with as much force as he could muster. Bianca collapsed to the floor, not expecting to be slammed into by Percy. They all looked at each other with hatred; Nico angry at Percy, Bianca angry at Percy and Nico alike, Percy just angry in general. There was a moment of silence before Luke peeked back in through the door, not sure what was really going on. He caught sight of the Percy and once again darted out the door.

"Why the fuck are you here?!" Nico insisted as he slinked forward towards the boy he loved- or he had loved. Percy looked at him with fire steaming in his eyes.

"I came here to apologize to you, but forget that," Percy glanced at Bianca quickly as Nico leaned over and helped his sister up. "She said you might have been out with someone else and I guess she was right. You never cared in the first place did you- about me. This whole time you just liked to fuck with me didn't you?!"

Nico reeled back at Percy's accusations, feeling the sting from those seething words. Without even thinking, Nico let out a cry, something mixed between a sound of pain and a roar of anger. Both emotions bombarded him at that moment, not sure which one was more intense. Percy jerked his eyes to the boy for a moment, a feeling of guilt washing over him in that one moment. He watched Nico wrap one hand into his hair, fiddling with the dark locks tensely. Percy hated to see Nico like this.

Percy moved forward slight before running one hand along Nico's back, feeling the muscles tense under his touch, trying his best to do something comforting. Nico's eyes glared at him accusingly as the boy pulled away quickly.

"I just want you to go." Nico said weakly, not wanting to be bothered with any of this anymore.

Percy cringed, not wanting to listen to anything Nico was saying. He's just angry. He just angry, Percy repeated in his head. Nico couldn't really want him to leave, could he? Shaking his head Percy realized how serious Nico was. At that moment he made a decision. Crossing the room quickly, purposefully, Percy started through the threshold of the door. He let out a deep sigh as he turned back to Nico and Bianca. He looked between the two of them before one again shaking his head. With a deep breath he said the words that had been weighing him down the whole time.

"If you want me to leave, then I will, but I won't be coming back. It's either I go or I don't. Trust me when I say I love you, Nico. I maybe stupid at times, but no matter what I will always love you and if you want to give... well, us. If you want to give us another try then don't let me leave." Without another word Percy turned away from the two of them, resting his hand tenderly on the door frame. He listened intently, hoping that a silent whisper could save their relationship. Instead he was meet with that unsettling silence. Swallowing the harsh lump in his throat, Percy shook his head, taking his hand off the door and walking outside.

Sighing loudly, Percy bounded across the porch, only to have someone grab his leg harshly, stopping him dead in his tracks. Percy gasped as he tried to pull away, not realizing Luke was still there, sitting on the edge of the porch. Glancing down at the boy, Percy watched him with annoyance, his anger still seething although he wasn't willing to strangle him anytime soon.

"You know he does love you. He really does. But you have to treat him right. Don't just act like he does everything wrong. He can have friends other than you, he can hang out with other people. I know you're jealous and yeah, people are going to stare at Nico. He a great guy and truly he is beautiful, but, as much as you care about him, you need to give him some space. After a while come back and try to get him back. Once he calms down, he'll come around." Luke said the words as though he was losing his voice, words truthful yet unsure.

Percy glared at him with appreciation, yet aggravation. After a moment, Percy felt his anger flare up once again, just not wanting Luke to be telling him what to do. Kicking him off harshly Percy struck Luke in the back, although it wasn't on purpose. Luke gave out a startled cry as he lost a balance, tumbling from the porch and slamming into ground, face first. With Luke's loud strangled gasp, Nico and Bianca were quickly alerted that something was wrong. Within moments they were both out on the porch, watching as Luke picked himself off the ground, a faint trail of crimson dripping from his nose. Luke covered his nose with his hand tenderly before shaking head, glaring up at Percy as though he was a monster.

"Why the hell did you do that?! I just wanted to help you!" Luke roared with anger.

Nico also stared at him with accusation, not even knowing what happened. With a violent shove, Nico knocked Percy to the side, gritting his teeth harshly. "Get out of here! Just go! Please..." Nico trailed off as he looked at Percy with a pleading gaze.

Percy caught the hint automatically, bounding down the porch steps in a purposeful manner. He didn't want to deal with any of this anymore. Nico was pissed. Luke was probably hating him at that point, like that really matter though. Bianca definitely wanted to mount his head on a stick at that point. Hurrying to his car, Percy climbed into the driver side and slammed the door shut. He peeled out of the driveway as quickly as he possible could.

Nico watched as Percy sped out of the driveway, pain consuming his heart. He didn't expect it to hurt so much, knowing that it was actually over. He loved the boy, but he couldn't deal with him doing this every time he hung out with someone else. Percy was definitely becoming to possessive.

Looking down for a moment, Nico finally remembered Luke was still sitting on the ground, the back of his jeans soaked form the soggy ground, his nose dripping blood gently.

"You alright?" Nico asked softly before holding out his hand, grabbing Luke's own gently, and pulling the boy to his feet. Luke stumbled for a moment, unsteady on his own legs. He watched Nico curiously, actually wondering what was going on between him and Jackson. They had apparently just broken up, but why? Even if he hadn't known Nico forever like most of his friend, Luke still cared for the boy and wanted to help him if he had a problem. Stumbling around the yard of a moment, the wet, sticky grass soaking between his bare toes, Luke grinned lightly at Nico, hoping to cheer him up for only a moment at least.

Even with his nose bleeding and dirt covering his clothes, Luke smiled on. Just watching this made the other boy smile as well, forgetting all his troubles for a moment.

"You know what Luke, let's go inside, alright?" Nico cocked his head to the side before grinning wildly. He didn't know why he felt so cheerful all of the sudden, but he had a feeling it was because if he allowed himself to be sad for a moment longer he would probably burst into tears. Shaking his head harshly, Nico tired his best to forget what his mind had just began to process. Looking back at Luke he grinned once more, "How about I fix that bloody nose and then we go up to my room? We could hang out for a while or just talk? You know."

Luke looked at Nico for a moment, tapping the side of his face. Once again he grinned brightly. "Alright, lets go."

Luke surged in front of Nico as the boy began tromping up the porch steps like he owned the place, tossing mud onto the front of the porch from his feet. Nico shook his head in a light hearted manner before glancing at his sister. Bianca crossed her arms over her chest and glared on in disapproval.

"Don't get mud in the house, you hear me!" Bianca said demandingly as she sighed loudly. Nico tried to frown, but after a second he burst out laughing for no reason. Even though there was no point in it, Nico giggled loudly for one reason; just because he could.
