He mused again on why Neji had chosen that formation. He didn't understand it. Why would he have chosen that formation. He figured Neji would tell him in his own time, and once again fell asleep.
It had only been five hours, when they woke up. Neji woke up first. He was surprised when he felt an extra weight on his lap. He looked down and saw Diamond. He sat there stroking Diamond.
Shikamaru woke up ten minutes later. " Hey Neji. What were you doing earlier falling on me like that?" asked Shikamaru. " There's a certain way you need to catch me." said Neji. " How do you need me to catch you?" asked Shikamaru. Neji disappeared. Shikamaru hadn't even seen him move. Shikamaru jumped to his feet, ran up the tree, and started jumping branches looking everywhere for Neji.
Out of nowhere, Shikamaru felt a chakra burst. He turned around and saw Neji coming up fast. Shikamaru stopped on the branch and waited for Neji to catch up. Once he was close enough, he grabbed on to Shikamaru in a death grip. Arms locked around Shikamaru's waist and they fell out of the tree. They went soaring towards the ground like a comet. Shikamaru went to flip over. " No don't try and right yourself." said Neji. Shikamaru didn't even ask. They hit the ground with a thud, rolled a few more feet, and finally slid to a stop. Shikamaru landed on his back and Neji landed on top of him face down on his chest.
Neji lifted his head from Shikamaru's chest and asked " Are you alright?" " Please tell we don't have to do that every time." said Shikamaru. " No we don't if you catch me bridle style." said Neji. Shikamaru's eyebrows rose. " I need to catch you bridle style?" asked Shikamaru. " Yes." said Neji. Neji rolled over. They stayed laying next to each other.
Soon enough, Shikamaru stood and gave Neji a hand up. " We should get back." said Shikamaru.
" Alright." said Neji. Neji lifted his fingertips to his forehead and channeled chakra through to his forehead. But instead of releasing Diamond, his seal was visible. " So this is what it looks like." said Shikamaru. The seal was in the shape of a robin, it was pink. " Are we outside of the village?" asked Shikamaru. "Yes we are." said Neji. They stood there for a little while longer and then Shikamaru went through ten hand signs.
There was a puff of smoke and there stood Shikamaru in his before attire. Neji channeled his chakra and with a puff of smoke, Diamond was gone. Shikamaru watched as Diamond's seal disappeared.
Oddly enough, there was another puff of smoke right in front of Neji and on the ground in front of him was his headband and hair tie. " Where did those go?" asked Shikamaru. As he bent down and picked up the headband. " When ever Diamond's out, I take off my headband. It gives my forehead a breather especially if I've been hit by that curse jutsu." said Neji. Shikamaru's eyes narrowed at this. " Has your uncle ever used that jutsu on you?" asked Shikamaru. As he almost snarled. Neji shook his head no.
Shikamaru bent down and tried to pick up the hair tie. " Don't touch that." said Neji. " Why." asked Shikamaru. Because there's a blood seal on it." said Neji " And no it's not my just blood." Shikamaru's eyebrows went sky high at hearing this. " What I mean is that Diamond had cut his paw as puppy my hair tie was underneath it. It was soaked in his blood. Right after that happened, I had cut my finger and then my blood was soaking it also. It turned out to be a good thing because I had just found a blood seal that stops anyone from pick up that hair tie but me." said Neji. As he took the headband from Shikamaru's out stretched hand. He put it to his forehead and retied the knot.
