Once back in the main room, he doused the room with his chakra making sure there was no evidence that he'd been there. He ran back out, though careful to conceal his chakra when passing through the barrier. It took another ten minutes to make it back to what he dubbed as Shikamaru's forest. When he got there, Shikamaru was slumped against a tree trunk, fast asleep. Neji walked over and sat down against the tree next to him. He wrapped his arm around Shikamaru's shoulders. After twenty minutes, Shikamaru stirred. He opened his eyes to see Neji staring at him.
" Have a nice nap?" asked Neji. " Yes I did." said Shikamaru. They sat there in silence. After awhile, Shikamaru broke the silence. " Weren't you going to have me sign Diamond's contract?" asked Shikamaru. " Hmm, yes I was, but that would require moving." said Neji. Shikamaru couldn't help but chuckle. " I don't believe what I'm hearing. Did you just make a joke and are you not wanting to move?" asked Shikamaru. In between his chuckles. " Yes I did and no I do not want to move." said Neji.
Shikamaru chuckles finally died down. " Should we go to your forest?" asked Shikamaru. " Yes." said Neji. He dropped his arm from Shikamaru's shoulders and stood. He offered a hand, and Shikamaru took it. He pulled himself into a standing position. They stood facing each other. Shikamaru walked around to stand behind Neji and wrapped his arms around Neji's waist. Neji did thirty five hand signs and they were gone in a puff of smoke.
They landed back in the forest. Shikamaru's arms still around Neji's waist. He let his arms drop and walked around to stand back in front of Neji. Neji reached inside his traditional Hyuuga style robes and produced a scroll. Neji dropped to his knees and place the scroll on the ground. He bit his thumb and let a drop of blood hit the scroll, releasing the seal. Shikamaru dropped to his knees on the opposite side of the scroll and watched as three columns appeared on the scroll. The first column had the word raven written in Neji's blood. The second column was empty.
" Write your name down on the scroll and next to it write your families animal." said Neji. Shikamaru did. He watched as his name disappeared into the scroll and all that remained was the word fawn. Neji let another drop of blood hit the scroll. It hit the third column. There was a puff of smoke, and in the third column lay a necklace. Neji picked it up, and disappeared. Shikamaru moved his hair out of the way. Neji appeared at his back and slipped the necklace around his neck.
Neji walked back over to the scroll, rolled it back up, and put it back into his hidden pocket. He stood and Shikamaru did the same. " What's this necklace for?" asked Shikamaru. " It's so you can get here when you need to." said Neji. As he repeated Shikamaru's words from earlier. " Thank you." said Shikamaru. Neji nodded. " I need to touch the necklace." said Neji. He than walked forward and placed his hand on Shikamaru's neck. Shikamaru laid his hand on Neji's neck. " Bite your thumb." said Shikamaru. Neji and Shikamaru both bit their thumbs. They put their thumbs against each others necklaces and drew an x in blood. They then infused it with their chakra. After five seconds, they removed their thumbs. They both then stepped back and sat down facing each other.
" So how does this work?" asked Neji. " They're blood stones. I knew we needed a way to get to each other if necessary. Since we already marked the necklaces with our blood, you channel chakra through the necklace and an answering burst will come from the other necklace you did say I need to work on my chakra control. This gives me the opportunity to do so. What the stones are made of makes it impossible for anyone to see { in the case of your clan} or to sense any chakra being directed towards the necklace." said Shikamaru. Neji was impressed by the amount of thought put into this. " I had the exact same idea." said Neji. Shikamaru felt a chakra burst. Diamond once again was at Neji's side.
