Neji walked around to stand behind Shikamaru and wrapped his arms around Shikamaru's waist.
" Lean on me." said Neji. Shikamaru leaned back. Neji than let out a short whistle right next to Shikamaru's ear. He winced. Diamond walked forward. He got up on his hind legs and rested his paws on Shikamaru's shoulders. He bent his head so it was level with the necklace and stuck out his tongue. Diamond focused chakra to his tongue and a large slit opened on his tongue He coated Shikamaru's necklace with his blood and saliva.
Neji once again let out a short whistle and Diamond dropped back to all fours. This time, the positions were reversed. Shikamaru was the holding Neji. Neji let out another whistle and Diamond once again rested his front paws on Neji's shoulders. The slit was still open and bleeding. He lathered Neji's necklace with his saliva and blood. He than dropped back to all fours.
" What's with him soaking my necklace in bodily fluids?" asked Shikamaru. As he dropped his arms from Neji's person and came to stand at his side. " His blood and chakra are infused in the stones, just as we did with each others. If Diamond is out, we can communicate to him and each other by chakra burst." said Neji. " But I thought with the collar on, that he couldn't access it." said Shikamaru. " It doesn't negate it from his system, it just keeps it hidden. If he's in the village, the seals on the collar activate suppressing his chakra but not completely negating it." said Neji.
" You said earlier that Diamond can communicate by chakra burst. Hows that possible?" asked Shikamaru. Neji beckoned Diamond forward. Diamond dropped the henge. Embedded in the collar, was a heart shaped ruby that was almost pink. " Do we have to share blood and chakra with him as well?" asked Shikamaru. Neji raised an eyebrow. "Right. Stupid question." mumbled Shikamaru. Shikamaru walked up to Diamond. He bit his thumb and place it against the ruby. He repeated the process he'd done with Neji and backed up. He than walked to stand behind Neji. Neji walked up to Diamond and did the same.
Suddenly, Neji staggered backwards as a bout of dizziness overcame him. Shikamaru's arms slipped around him so he wouldn't fall. " What's going on?" asked Shikamaru. " Chakra exhaustion. Because of using too much chakra healing you and then having to constantly control it and suppressing when I pass the barrier. Then comes over exposure to chakra from constantly passing through the dome and using chakra bursts as a means of communication between Diamond and I. I just need to sleep it off." said Neji.
Shikamaru gently maneuvered Neji so he was on the ground on his knees. He than picked Neji up bridle style. He than walked over to a tree. He back up til he was flush against the tree and then slid down til he was on the ground, legs straightened out, and Neji in his lap. Diamond walked over and laid down on Shikamaru's legs.
It was many hours before Neji woke up. Shikamaru was still holding him. Neji stirred in Shikamaru's arms " Oh your awake. Are you alright?" asked Shikamaru. Neji only just managed to feebly nod his head. He looked up through blurry eyes at Shikamaru's relieved, but worried face. " Now, how am I going to get up?" muttered Shikamaru. Under his breath. Diamond walked and stood by Neji's head.
Diamond grabbed Neji by the scruff of his neck and backed away from Shikamaru. Shikamaru stood and walked over to Diamond. Diamond dropped Neji in to Shikamaru arms. Shikamaru put his hands on Neji's shoulders, holding him in place. " Doesn't that hurt?" asked Shikamaru. " No, it doesn't." said Neji.
