" How are you going to get to the village if your this low on chakra?" asked Shikamaru. As he tilted Neji's head up to look at him. Neji's eyes were glazed. " I'll have to ride Diamond back. This will give you the chance to get used to going this speed all the time." said Neji. Diamond army crawled between Neji's legs and stood up.
Diamond took off, Shikamaru by his side. " What's with the whole fawn thing?" asked Neji. As he turned to look at Shikamaru while keeping his hands tightly clenched in Diamond's fur. " Nobody in my clan can get within two feet of the fawns except me. They trust me and I'm comfortable with them. If my parents or anyone else is near me, they won't even come to me. It's like they consider me one of their own. I always see them roaming around the village watching me." said Shikamaru.
Neji was amazed. They were that comfortable with him. Well, at least he knew Shikamaru was being guarded. Neji suddenly chuckled. " What's so funny?" asked Shikamaru. " I just had a thought of you being guarded by a bunch of deer." said Neji. As he chuckled.
" Ha ha very funny. So what's with the whole raven thing?" asked Shikamaru. Neji finally stopped chuckling.
" There's a raven's nest in the tree outside my window. One of the baby ravens fell out of the tree. I caught her before she hit the ground. Ever since, they've been keeping me company and flocking around me when I'm in the village. Though, they never come near me when anyone's with me." said Neji.
Shikamaru chuckled. " That's our luck to have stubborn animals to be the ones we get close to." said Shikamaru.
" Stop Diamond." said Neji. Diamond stopped and Shikamaru stopped by his side. Neji got off Diamond's back and stood at his side. Neji then channeled chakra through to Diamond's seal and with a puff of smoke, Diamond was gone.
" We need to reapply our henge." said Shikamaru. Neji nodded and did just that. " Take that scroll straight to the Hokage." said Neji. Shikamaru nodded. They stood there for a bit and then started walking towards the village.
" Shikamaru can I grab onto your arm?" asked Neji. Slightly embarrassed. Shikamaru stopped and offered his arm. Neji placed his hand in the crook of Shikamaru's arm. They continued walking.
" This is nothing to be ashamed of Neji. I can help you when you need it without revealing why you need the help." said Shikamaru. Neji nodded. " I know, it's just I'm not used to having someone there to help me. In my clan, you were trained to keep your emotions in check or at least not show them around the clan members." said Neji. They continued on. After awhile, the village gates came into view. They nodded to the village guards and walked through.
Shikamaru stopped and Neji removed his hand from his arm. " I'll be seeing you Shikamaru. Keep in mind though, the necklaces are a means of communication. You send out a chakra burst. Then you focus the chakra to your necklace and hold it there. It will let me know your on your way." said Neji. Shikamaru nodded and started to run in the direction of the Hokage tower.
Neji continued on towards the arena. When he got there, they were in the middle of a match between Naruto and Lee. He made his way to the balcony. Once close enough, he crouched down and sprung up, grabbing onto the railing as he did so, and flipped himself onto the balcony. Gai came to stand next to his student. " How long has the match been going on?" asked Neji. " ONLY FOR FIFFTEEN MINUTES. MY YOUTHFUL STUDENT." screamed Gai. Neji groaned.
