*I'm actually really excited to be back in the fanfiction world. My husband laughed at me last night. But he just doesn't get it. He also laughed when I made the angelic rune the passcode on my tablet. I keep reminding him he married a book nerd and he needs to get used to it; I try not to laugh at his nerdy tendencies….Anyways like I said I'm glad to be back. I've already got the next to last chapter written now let's just see how long it takes me to get there. I was working on my actual own story earlier today and discovered why I'm not published yet. I wrote a scene than thought it would be fun to see the same scene in another character's point of view, than another's. So I wrote 212 words of my actual piece and 1, 500 that I can't use.
Disclaimer: I DO NOT OWN LIFE WITH DEREK OR ANY OF THE CHARACTERS IN THIS STORY!
Chapter Five:
"Der-eck!" Casey slammed the door behind her and Noel. "Tonight's dinner was supposed to be about us! To celebrate mine and Noel's engagement. You just had to go and act like a jerk!"
Derek smirked. "Did you forget what I said, Princess, not everything is about you."
Casey yelled in frustration and went up the stairs to her room. Noel stood at the edge of the stairs unsure whether to go up after her or defend her to Derek. He turned to tell Derek off but Sam shook his head behind Derek tiredly. Noel's eyes blazed for a second before he gave up and went upstairs to knock on Casey's door.
"Wimp." Derek smirked.
Sam glared at him, "Go pack a bag, D. I don't trust you not to pick a fight with him."
"Hey!" Derek said.
Sam sat down in Derek's chair, "I'm serious, Derek. You're crashing at my place tonight."
Derek grumbled as he climbed the stairs. He tried to ignore Casey's voice when she squealed or Noel's laughter coming from her room. Maybe going to Sam's was for the best.
…
"Noel, stop it!" Casey squealed pushing his hands away from her.
Noel laughed but quit tickling her anyways. He leaned back against her headboard and pulled Casey towards him. "I love you," he said as he bent to kiss her neck.
Casey smiled and closed her eyes, "I love you too. "
"I know," Noel grinned against her skin.
He brought his lips up to hers. His hands gripping her waist and he pulled her on his lap. "I've missed you since we've been here," he whispered.
Casey laughed, "Maybe if you can be really quiet no one will notice."
Noel's eyes danced playfully, "I will if you will."
"Or you could stop." Derek said from Casey's doorway. "I'd rather not be sick."
"Der-reck!" Casey yelled.
Noel glared over at Derek. "Do you mind?"
Derek smirked, "Actually yes I do! That's why I burst in here. I'd rather not me or our younger siblings hear the two of you going at it in the other room."
Casey groaned and buried her face in her pillow. Noel kissed the back of her head and walked over to the door. "What is your deal?"
Derek grinned, "It's my life purpose to make Casey as miserable as possible. Now get out."
Noel shook his head and headed down the hall to Edwin's room. Derek chuckled under his breath and turned back to Casey, who was currently sending him death glares. "You ruin everything!"
Derek shrugged, "Just doing my job, sis." The "sis" dripped like poison out of his mouth. He cringed at the sound of it. To his pleasure, so did Casey.
"Go away!" Casey yelled.
Derek grinned and sauntered back out the door. He saw Sam and Noel talking in front of Edwin's room.
"I don't know that I want to be anywhere near Derek right now, Sam." Noel said.
Sam shook his head, "I can't say I blame you, but I promise you I will make sure Derek is on his best behavior."
Derek leaned against the wall, "Best behavior for what?"
"Guys night." Sam replied without looking in his direction. "Me, you, and Noel."
"Sounds fun," Derek said sarcastically. Noel grunted.
….
"How did Edwin manage to get invited on this trip?" Derek glared over at his little brother.
"They needed a buffer for you, Derek." Edwin smirked.
"Who says I'm even going to hang with these guys anyways?" Derek said, glancing pointedly at Noel. "They're kind of kill joys tonight."
Edwin shrugged, "Think of me as your wing man then, D."
Derek rolled his eyes and slung and arm around Edwin's neck, "Watch and learn, Ed."
The night went on forever. Derek had three girls hanging on his every word by the end of the night; one even flirting with Edwin. But Derek kept noticing that Noel was on his phone texting Casey all night. Every time Derek sent a girl Noel's way, he heard Noel politely explain that he was engaged and send them away.
By the time he and Sam got back to Sam's place, Derek was beyond aggravated. "I'm never going to split them up at this point."
"So give up on this insane idea of yours," Sam said exasperated.
"I can't," Derek yelled. "I love her!"
Derek fell back on the couch, putting his head in his hands. "I can't sit back and watch her marry Noel. I can't live without her."
Sam put his hand on Derek's shoulder, "Maybe it's time to let go, D. I get that you love her, I do. But isn't love supposed to be about making her happy?"
Derek glared at Sam, "Shut up."
Sam groaned. So much for that idea.
*Okay so I started this back in July. It's October and I just finished this chapter….Let me explain why it's been so long. Number one, we hit a rough spot money wise and had to cut our internet off. I know super suck-ish. I thought I was going to die! Then to make matter's worse my charger is severely messed up and I couldn't turn my computer on for like over a month. Add in writer's block and I'm just now getting this finished. I only have internet when my husband is home but hopefully now I can get this finished and put up. Thank you for being so patient with me. Sorry again. I also started a new fanfic. It isn't Life With Derek, but it's amazing. It's taking into account a lot of my new interests as well as some of my old one's . It's called Best Friend's Anonymous, check it out.
