L's Note

If you are reading this, then I am long gone. Dead. Shot down in some way. I have a countless number of enemies. I have had so many cases that the list of people who want me dead is quite possibly endless. I would not be surprised if one of them finally caught up to me. These are my final words in case one of them did.

1. I hope that I did not lose to you, Light. I would never be able to get over losing to you. You may be playing the part of an angel, but I am 98.65% sure that you are Kira. That is pretty damn sure for someone who does not have any solid evidence besides a gut feeling. If you are reading this and you were innocent (highly unlikely), then I apologize for the accusation. I'm not wrong though.

2. I considered myself asexual before the Kira case. There was a person linked to Kira though...it was the first time that I was ever attracted to someone else. The first time. Ever. It was incredibly awkward and uncomfortable, and I hope never to experience it again with any other person.

3. I am the smartest person I know. Yes Light, I am smarter than you. Deal with it.

4. Despite what you may think, I am perfectly healthy. My diet is odd, I shall admit, but it is sufficient and well planned to meet my daily nutritional needs.

5. The second half of number four was a lie. Everyone, including myself, is baffled at how the first half of number four is true.

6. Light, if (or when, rather) you get caught as Kira, do try and be a good boy in prison. I feel like the locals there will not be too fond of you.

7. I am competitive (obviously). Light Yagami, you are one of the very rare few who have ever posed even the slightest bit of a challenge to me. You were a good opponent. I never lose, however, as you shall discover if you did not already know.

8. Do not pass judgement on me for this next bit of information to be revealed. I was half asleep when it happened, and therefore should not be held responsible. One night, after waking from a particularly...strange...dream, I acted in the heat of the moment and kissed you. Mind you, it was brief, and I resumed sleeping almost immediately afterwards. I felt that you should know.

9. Number eight also happened to be my first kiss.

10. Watari, I have faith that you will pick the best successor to follow in my footsteps. Also, you must find him/her/them a new team, as you are not lessening in age.

11. Misa, what purpose do you serve? Are you smarter than you let on? Do you play a larger role in this game? Or are you simply a sex toy for Light, used to fulfill a need and then discarded until called upon?

12. I hate the color salmon. Why salmon? Do not ask. That is not a pleasant story.

13. Make sure that I receive a proper funeral, even if there is nothing to bury. My mother was always fond of the idea that we would spend eternity rotting together in the ground. The location of the grave is in an unmarked file on my desk. Good luck.

14. Light, if you were the death of me, have the decency to show up and speak at my funeral. If it was another, allow them the same opportunity.

15. Light mumbles at times in his sleep. I do not understand why, but I like it. I have stayed awake a few different times just to listen. Unfortunately, I did not learn anything of the Kira case from this. I did discover that he seems to like eyes and handcuffs. Strange.

16. I am very proud of my sugar cube towers, regardless of what you may say about them.

17. Another note on the funeral: serve cake. More specifically: chocolate cake and strawberry short cake.

18. Team, I hope that you can carry on without me there. I know that it shall be a nearly impossible uphill battle, but you can (might) be able to do it.

19. Do not criticize my way of sitting. It is incredibly relaxing and very productive. If you are hesitant to believe this, try it. Your back will feel fantastic. I just can not sit any other way than that. If I sit the way other people do, my reasoning ability drops by 40%.

20. I really want to try another kiss. I do not understand why, but I keep creating situations in my head that would enable me to receive another. It is illogical to say the least, seeing as we are enemies, but my mind continues to return to this singular thought. I want another.

Now. Watari shall be placed in charge of this letter until the day shall come to pass that I myself pass. If he is still alive, then this letter is to be delivered directly to Light Yagami. If deceased, Watari may do with it what he pleases.
