Title: Seducing Cupid
Rating: M
Pairing: Shizuo x Izaya,
Warnings: Male x Male Relationships, Smut
Description: He sees it every single day; people falling in love. It was just another day in the life of the new Cupid, Izaya Orihara. You would think he would know what falling in love looks like, but that wasn't the case when it was his love life. Shizaya. AU.
Shizuo sat there, watching Izaya read, completely annoyed. Before he left to library, he could have sworn that the annoying man promised to tell him what was going on. However, the raven was now dodging the question like it was a deadly bullet and it pissed the blonde off to no end. Letting his impatience get the best of him, he walked over to Izaya and grabbed the book out of his hand.
"Tell me what is going on or I am taking these back." The irritated man said with an intense glare. Izaya blinked at the sudden gesture before smirking.
"How rude. Taking advantage of an injured man~"
"Izaya…!" Shizuo growled out. The injured man let out a defeated sigh.
"Okay, okay." The raven finally relented. He wrestled with telling Shizuo the truth or making up some sort of lie. He went back and forth in his mind with the pros and cons of telling his new caretaker the truth. The worst that could happen is getting tossed out. While that would be a little complicated due to his injury, he would be able to manage. The best that could come out of it is that Shizuo would believe him and be more of help, however, the likelihood of that happening was very slim. Izaya looked down as he wrestled with it. It was truly odd how comfortable he was feeling with Shizuo. He had always been a rebel, never quite trust anyone and always ready to use whoever if the situation called for it. Emotionally, he never let himself open up fully to anyone, yet here he was; ready to just tell this man he just met his entire life story. "Do you believe in angels Shizuo?" The blonde stared at Izaya for a moment.
"If you're about to ask if I believe in God…"Izaya shook his head and closed his book.
"Not God, Angels." Shizuo tilted his head to the side slightly. He was confused how to answer the question or why it was even being asked. It seemed so out of character for the man in front of him to ask. The injured male smirked at the amusing expression he was receiving. "Ah, I see. You think that God and Angels must coexist." The injured male leaned back and relished in the ignorance of the human race.
"Dunno. I'm not really into religion and stuff…" He finally replied awkwardly sitting on the chair that was adjacent to the couch that Izaya was settled on.
"Do you believe in true love?" Shizuo, once again, was taken aback by the sudden, deep question. After a moment of thinking, he nodded.
"I do…" The smaller male smirked at the reply. His crimson orbs were slowly covered by thick lids as he continued his thought.
"What makes the concept of angel existence and true love different?" Shizuo took the question in. Instinct was that it was obvious that the two were completely different, but once it was boiled down, they are both concepts of existence that are not tangible. They were both invisible forces. "That's what I am trying to figure out." The sound of the other male's voice broke the bartender out of his deep thought. A silence fell on the two after that. It wasn't an uncomfortable silence, just a silence, as if the two were very deep in thought which they both were. Shizuo thought that he would finally get some sort of answer from Izaya, but it seemed like the more the other talked, the more confused that he got. Another thing that was confusing him was himself. Normally, situations like this would trigger his short fuse and the other man would be running for his life.
Not with Izaya.
Everything with Izaya seemed so relaxed, despite the confusion that he was causing him. Even that very fact was confusing to him. After minutes ticked by of the silence, Shizuo finally got up from his seat.
"I am going to put on some tea." Came a mumbled reply. He walked towards the couch so that he could make his way to the kitchen. However, once he reached the other side, a calm hand wrapped around his wrist. Startled, he looked down and was met with the crimson orbs that were previously covered. Time seemed to stop as the two made eye contact and rendered him breathless.
"Here is another interesting idea. What if the one you have true love with is an angel?" Caramel eyes widened slightly at the question. He wanted to say something, anything, but he found himself somehow hypnotized by Izaya. Whether it was his touch or his deep words, he wasn't sure. It wasn't an uncomfortable feeling, but it wasn't a pleasant feeling either. It felt like some sort of out of body experience and that the two no longer existed reality.
After what seemed like minutes of eye contact, Shizuo pulled his wrist away from Izaya's grasp. He wanted to say something, to ease whatever feeling was lingering in the room, but didn't know what. Instead, he settled on heading back towards the kitchen. He walked towards the cabinets that held the tea and stop. After a moment of hesitation, his own hand wrapped around the slender wrist that was previously in contact with his house guests.
