*flash back*
*start of the year Lucy POV.*
I walked through the gates of my school alone for the first time without Susan. My 'friends' were hanging out together as per usual. Thinking that everything was still the same I went over to join them.
Alice Wakefield, my best friend (or so I thought) came up to me,
"Oh look guys, its little Lu-Lu, all alone. No big sister to protect her"
At first I was confused by her stance and her first words, but once she had finished speaking I could tell by her patronising tone, that this was no longer my best friend.
"I didn't need her to protect me in the first place and I still don't."
"Oh sure yeah I totally believe you Lucy."
The sarcasm in her voice was painfully obvious, but having been a queen for 15 years I ignored her as if she was Rabadash trying to pretend I was less than him. Unfortunately one of my other supposed 'friends' stuck her foot out in front of me, sending me flying into mud.
"Oh sorry Lu, need a hand?"
Her voice was patronizing and mocking, I was the warrior queen, strong and determined, I was never a lady and never would be.
I lifted my hand and smiled as if I thought she was actually going to help me. When she took it, the smile turned to an evil grin, not unlike those I had when out-smarting my enemies in Narnia or putting my plan into action when I was pranking people. I gripped her hand then pulled while twisting my wrist so she wouldn't land on me.
Screaming and covered in mud she ran over to the teacher. She came back with Ms Sheldon and fake tears in her eyes. Laughter racked through my body as I was taken to the office on the first day of school.
*flash back over*
"So that's how I got two months detention and was gated for three weeks at the start over the term"
"Lu? What about all the other times?"
"Ed that comes next"
