Sorry for updating so late. I hope you this chapter like the many others. Again, I do not own LOTR, that belongs to J.R.R. Tolkien. As always, read and enjoy~
''Elvish"
Frodo glanced around the room nervously as he sat at a table with the Fellowship, close to Lady Galadriel and Lord Celeborn. While they were waiting for the guests to arrive, he spotted Alice and Stella walking into the room and ran over to them happily with Sam, Merry, and Pippin. Alice laughed gently as she kneeled to give Frodo a proper hug, Stella getting acquainted with the hobbits properly after having to hide from Arbellason.
As such, said elf walked in a minute later and immediately turned his attention to Alice, who hid her discomfort well. Stella, the hobbits, Aragorn, and Legolas could easily tell that the elleth was tense about seeing Arbellason, if her more polite attitude than usual was anything to go by. "Good evening, Lady Thenidiel." He said and bowed politely. "Good evening Arbellason." Alice replied back sweetly with a small curtsy as Stella dragged her over to the awaiting Fellowship.
Alice and Stella sat by the Hobbits because they asked to hear about any of their adventures and, if possible, any including Legolas, being elves. At the mention of his name, Legolas glanced in their direction and his eyes widened slightly in shock. Aragon looked at him questionably before also looking over at their friends, his eyes also widening. Alice was wearing a blue spade shaped necklace around her neck and Stella had a golden yellow diamond shaped necklace.
Both recounted a story that might or might not be true, but they became suspicious of what the story had to do with their friends. When dinner ended Arbellason pulled Alice aside gently to ask if he could talk to her for a few minutes. "I have something important to talk to you about. Can you spare a few minutes?" He asked quietly. Alice looked to her friends before looking back to Arbellason and nodding her consent. "Ten minutes." She answered and looked back at the Fellowship.
"You can go on ahead." She called and followed Arbellason into the forest where they could talk. After waiting two minutes, Stella walked after Alice, determined to make sure no harm came to her friend. "Stella! Wait!" Dean whispered and quickly and quietly followed the blonde elleth, his brother doing the same. Merry and Pippin also began running, causing Frodo and Sam to try and stop them. As much as they didn't want to hear Alice and Arbellason's conversation, more than half the company had already left, leaving Aragon, Legolas, Gimli, and Boromir to follow quietly.
~Meanwhile~
Alice walked with Arbellason to an empty clearing and admired the bright moon that shone above them. Arbellason looked over at her and felt his breath catch in his throat. The moonlight made Alice look more stunning and beautiful as though she were standing in the sunlight. Clearing his throat quietly, Arbellason continued with his thoughts. "Will you be returning to Silver Autumn with your brother?" He asked. Alice sighed as she admired the trees.
"No, I will not. I'm going to travel for a while longer before I return." She answered calmly and sat down on a fallen log. "Why not? You should return immediately to discuss your engagement!" Arbellason persisted, unknowingly adding to another elf's anger and another elleth's shock. "Im selma ván! Arbellason, I am not returning because you alone want me to!" Alice argued angrily as she stood to face her friend. "Im sinta lí na tegihain na Mordor!" Arbellason growled through clenched teeth, to which only the elves and Dúnedain could understand their elven words.
Alice stared at him in shock, her eyes widening as Arbellason's words seemed to echo in the not so empty clearing. "How... What if I am?" She asked while taking tentative steps towards the edge of clearing-unknowingly walking closer to the Fellowship and the people she considered family. Arbellason walked towards Alice, rage at her decision evident in his dark eyes. Before Alice could leave he grabbed her wrist and began to yell at her. "You are not allowed to go there, Thenidiel!" "I was not asking you for permission! Arbellason, it was my decision as well as idea to go. I will lead them no matter what you say." Alice yelled back angrily as she pulled her arm out of the angered elf's grip and promptly, and as calmly as she could, walked out of the clearing.
Her pace as speed increased the closer she got, and when Alice was a good ten feet into the forest she ran as though she was going to be killed by an enemy. Those who watched the exchange were either confused for the conversation, shocked at their angered tones, sad because they understood, angry at Arbellason, or all of the above. "We will have to leave tomorrow if we are to avoid any more violence. For now we should get some sleep." Hérion stated in the silence and began ushering everyone back to their rooms for the night.
