"Elvish"

'Thoughts'

When Alice made it back to her room, she immediately began packing what belongings she had, and was about to change into more comfortable clothes when a knock at her door came. She reached for her dagger and slowly walked to the door with her hand by her side. Throwing the door open, she found Lance standing in the hall, shock written all over his face as Alice held her dagger to his neck.

"Lance!" Alice whispered in relief and pulled him into her room. "We seriously need a password!" She continued. Lance nodded as he entered his sister's room and saw her packed bag. He sighed when he saw Alice hide her dagger once more in a cloth covered sheath before sitting down on her bed, debating whether or not to ask her about her next plan. "I'm going to leave before them. Maybe tonight or in the morning." Alice stated, fiddling with a lock of her hair. 'So soon?' Lance thought sadly, but nodded in understanding.

"If you leave tonight, there's a chance you could get attacked when you leave Lothlorien. Please, wait until tomorrow, 'Del. That way I can see off with a better mood." Lance reasoned, not wanting to say goodbye yet. Alice bit her lip slightly and sat down next to Lance, leaning on his shoulder with a sigh. "I want to stay. I don't want to have say goodbye, so I'll stay for you." Alice whispered, letting out the frustrated tears she'd been holding in.

When she fell asleep, Lance sat in the chair beside her bed and watched over her, not taking any chances that Arbellason would visit while they slept. When morning came, Alice woke to the sight of her overprotective twin brother sitting in a chair beside her. She smiled softly at him before sitting up and gently shaking his shoulder to wake him up. "Tal', wake up." Lance shifted at the sound of Alice's soft voice and smiled at her.

"Good morning, 'Del. Want to go for a walk?" Lance asked as he stood and motioned to the door. Alice laughed lightly as she motioned to the wardrobe. "Perhaps after I change, Tal'. You should too, I'll meet you with the others." She replied, and watched as her brother left the room and go to his own. Once she was done, Alice shouldered her bag and weapons and left her room, planning on leaving once she saw everyone. Lance met her outside with a slight frown and walked with her to the Fellowship's camp.

"Good morning you two. Going somewhere, Alice?" Gimli asked curiously, eyeing her bags and weapons. Said elleth smiled nervously and answered their questions. "Yes, I will be leaving today. Or rather, in a few minutes. There is something I still have to do, and I'm afraid it cannot wait any longer." The Fellowship frowned sadly as their friend explained that she had to leave, especially when danger was slowly approaching and she made no move to say whether she was traveling alone or with a friend.

Legolas looked at her with a worried expression as she spoke quietly with Aragorn about meeting at Rauros in a few days. As Alice was preparing to leave with Twilight, Legolas tapped her shoulder and helped her get ready to leave. "Thenidiel, why are you leaving, really?" He asked quietly, glancing at Alice as she sighed inaudibly. Turning slowly, she ran her fingers through Twilight's mane, avoiding her friend's eyes.

"A former friend is pressuring me for my hand, and I am being hunted by an evil similar to the very darkness of Mordor. There is a reason I know the way, as well as the reason why I'm being sought out, and not returning home. I cannot tell you now, perhaps when we next meet..." As she spoke, Legolas slowly walked closer to Alice, closing the distance between them. Their lips met, hesitantly at first, then grew more confident as each second passed.

Just as Legolas' arms encircled Alice's waist, and her arms found their way around his neck, she hesitantly pulled away, a small sigh escaping her lips. "I really must go." Alice whispered quietly, though she did not let go of her friend's shoulders. Legolas pulled Alice closer and kissed her lightly before hugging her tightly, not wanting to let her go. Pulling away, Alice removed something from around her neck and placed it in Legolas' hand.

Looking at it he found that it was a necklace with a smooth topaz in the shape of a circle with a small silver flower with a red center on the bottom of the topaz on a thin silver chain. It reminded Legolas of the rising sun, then he realized just what it was. It was Alice's necklace-the very one that was said to be "missing" when she "left" home. Turning to her with a shocked face he tried to give it back. "Alice, I cannot take this from you."

"Keep it. I want you to have it, nin emel na as le." Alice whispered with a smile and mounted Twilight, waving slightly before urging the white horse to leave. Legolas stood still and watched her leave, silently praying for her safety as the Fellowship prepared to leave the next day. Lance walked out from behind a tree and walked over to Legolas with a barely concealed smile. "Legolas." He greeted. "Hello, Lance."

Noticing the silver chain in his friend's hand, Lance couldn't stop his smile as he caught a brief glimmer of yellow gold. "She gave you her necklace." He stated happily. Legolas chuckled quietly as he nodded, opening his hand so that Lance could see it. He smiled fondly at the familiar sun like necklace and looked at Legolas seriously. "I'll be quite clear, Legolas. If you hurt my sister, I'll kill you." Legolas nodded quietly, understanding what Lance was trying to say.

As Alice was leaving, Haldír caught up to her and had her stop. "Lady Galadriel wishes to speak with you before you leave." He explained, and led the way to where Lady Galadriel was waiting. Alice quietly walked over and bowed while still shouldering her bow and quiver. "You wanted to speak with me, Lady Galadriel?" Alice asked curiously. Lady Galadriel turned to her with a smile and gestured to her mirror.

"Indeed. Look into the mirror." Lady Galadriel motioned to the still water in the mirror. Alice walked towards it slowly, afraid of what she would see. Looking in the mirror, it first showed her reflection, then it showed Silver Autumn Wood being taken over by dark shadows, the elves being turned into stone statues. It changed, showing the Fellowship separating and going in different directions.

The mirror then showed Legolas' appearance in a battle somewhere, Lance, the Fellowship, Elladan, Elrohir, and many others she cared about surrounded by orcs and moving shadows. A shadow figure appeared in a dark castle, reaching its hand out to Alice in an almost inviting and encouraging manner. The sapphire spade around her neck began to glow and burned as it touched the waters surface, sensing the darkness.

The heat began to slowly crawl up the mithril chain, making it hotter the closer the shadowy figure appeared. Alice suddenly blinked and pushed herself away from the mirror, gasping for air as she clutched the necklace tightly and leaned against a tree. Galadriel watched her sadly and walked over to her. "I know what it is you've seen, as well as your fears. I understand that you do not want to involve them, but there will come a time when you will need to." She said softly, motioning for Alice to follow her back to Twilight.

"Thenidiel, you must not lose the key. They are being sought out, and their guardians will be killed. If not by the web ants if the enemy, then by their master. Be careful on your journey." Galadriel bid Alice farewell and handed her a bracelet. "This bracelet is made of pine with small emeralds intertwined. It was your mother's, she asked me to hold onto it in case something happened to her or I thought you were ready. It symbolizes health and love. Pine wood can also be used to alleviate stress and renew energy when meditating. It also helps to ward off evil influences. There is also willow in this bracelet. It helps keeps the harmony in one's mind peaceful." Alice took the bracelet gently and slipped it onto her wrist, already feeling a sense of calm.

"Hanon lle, Lady Galadriel." She whispered with a smile, then finally returned to Twilight and once more set off for Rauros, hoping the Fellowship gets there in time. Meanwhile, Celeborn walked over to Lance as he was reading in the library. "Talathion." Celeborn started, sitting down across from Lance. "Lord Celeborn." Lance greeted, setting down his book. "Now that Thenidiel has left, I can give to you something she too must now possess." Lord Celeborn stated calmly as he revealed a woven bracelet with small rubies intertwined.

"This is made of Holly and Hazel wood. They help protect the wearer from dark influences and increase one's ability in dream magic, as well as their healing arts and give wisdom when needed. This was your father's, he requested that it be given to you when he could not." Celeborn handed the woven bracelet to Lance as he explained what it was. Lance looked at Lord Celeborn curiously as he held the bracelet, wondering what Alice's looked like. "The time for the Guardians' to rise is close. Very close. Be on your guard, Talathion." Lord Celeborn warned as he stood and left the room. Lance stood up after a few minutes and began packing to follow his sister instead of returning home.
