Time to Set Things Straight
"Cough…ah..guh…"
That's what I heard as I waited for the blow from the entire dark clones to come at me along with Asuna and Angel. I slowly opened my eyes only to have them widen even more.
Sam had gotten in front of us. The real Sammy Rose from this world, that had gotten stabbed in the heart right in front of me.
She still looked like Kuro in everyway, but her eyes had turned to her regular golden shade.
I felt Angel let go of my hand while Asuna did the same. I looked over to them both only to see they were just staring at her in shock while shaking all over.
I looked back to Sam to see she had already had blood spurring from her nose and mouth. Though there was one thing that stood out from the blood and her new wound, the tears that fell down her cheeks.
She wasn't saying anything; she just merely stood there while crying with this determined look on her face. It wasn't really fitting.
She looked back to the clones only to give them this strong glare. Within seconds they all vanished into dust.
She fell to her knees while grabbing at her chest. It seemed like she was in unbearable pain, but something was swarming around her wound.
It was darkness, that's how she was healing herself.
Angel walked up next to her already reaching for her shoulder, "Sammy?"
She jumped back while now standing on her left leg and still grasping at her chest.
Angel looked her at in shock. "Sam?"
Sam shook her head while looking back towards Konoka and Kousuke. She seemed really regretful watching that scene.
I took one step closer to her, "Sam…I think I know what you're thinking…"
She looked over to me only to have this warm smile on her face while the tears kept falling. "That I need to fix this?"
I nodded my head while walking towards her, "And that you're blaming yourself, but you aren't Kuro anymore. You won't go bac-"
"I'm going to."
I felt myself halt at her sudden statement. I stood up straight while I looked at her. "What do you mean?"
"Destiny, whatever she did to me is permanent…there's no going back to my old self anymore. This me is only temporary."
I heard everyone gasp while Angel ran past me towards her. She stood face to face with her. "Sam! You're not going to turn back, we just have to make sure you have light in your hea-"
"I know, but there isn't enough time. There's two things that can be done right now."
We felt like she was going to say something reliving, but then again something was still off.
Sam turned on her heel while walking over to both Setsuna and SeIto's corpses.
That's when something unexpected happened, she lifted up both of her arms only for those two's bodies to lift up into the air. She looked over to her sides, what the hell does she plan on doing?
Konoka spoke up first only to just scream at her, "Sam! I swear if you," she got up on her feet while her hands started to glow with magic, "If you try to do something else to her I'll fight you myself!"
"He-he," Sam turned towards Konoka while smiling a bit, "Trust me, I'm not going to turn her into dust, Kono-chan."
Konoka's eyes widened while she fell back to her knees. "So it really is you…thank goodness." Was what Konoka said while she wiped away her tears.
Sam turned back to Setsuna and Seito, but then turned back to Angel and I. "I still have light in my heart, you know."
That's when Setsuna and Seito had started to get surrounded by light only to get overwhelmed by it.
Negi ran over to me while looking at Sam in amazement, "Sammy-kun…don't tell me…"
I looked over to Negi to see he was way more shocked than I thought. "Huh?"
Sam nodded her head while looking back to the two crows. "Hai, Sensei. It's exactly what you're thinking."
Asuna came over to us only to have sweat dropping down her cheek, "What exactly is happening?"
Angel stood up straight while have a blank look on her face, almost as if she was completely baffled. "She's bringing them back to life."
I turned back looking shocked while my body started to shake from also the fear. That's not possible…is it?
Negi shook his head while walking over only to be right there in front of Sam. "Sammy-kun, for something like this to really work than you'd have to bend the rules of life it's self."
She looked down at him while stilling having her arms up facing both the orbs. "Sensei, I've broken those rules ever since I was ten. I've been brought back to life more times than any person should have been. It's my light from within my heart, so it's kind of like me giving back a thank you for all those times."
I heard someone speak up from the right side of me, "Wait," it was Kousuke, "That would mean…"
"Yes. I don't mind giving up my life in the process. Though that's not what's going to happen."
That's when a miracle happened; a single fist had broken through both the orbs. Everyone looked up only to see it was being broken through repeatedly.
"Konoka/Kousuke!"
Setsuna and Seito were breaking through it trying to get back to the people who they left, the ones they loved with everything they had.
Konoka and Kousuke jumped to their feet while just waiting to see what would happen next.
The orbs then fully turned to ash while those two stayed flying up in mid-air for a few seconds until I realized something.
They'd both had now been naked while every little wound or scar they had before was gone. Almost as if they'd been reborn, no I think they were really were. Their bodies had this slick shine to it while their hair seemed unbelievably healthy.
They slowly floated towards the ground only to land by side their loved one. They both looked over to Konoka and Kousuke while having a warm smile on their face and one single tear, "I'm back, Kono-chan/Kou-kun."
The other two just smiled while the tears started falling one more, but this time from sheer joy. "Welcome back, Set-chan/Set-kun."
That's when they jumped into their arms while crying in their shoulders. It was nice to see them happy again.
"Sammy, what are you going to do now," asked Asuna while walking up next to her.
Sam just smiled while she gathered power in both her hands. "Ah, I guess that would be turning back time?'
Everyone froze. I stood there while feeling a bit confused, but then it clicked. I ran up next to her while starting to wave my arms around like a mad man, "W-W-What? You can do that?!"
"I'm sure I can to be honest. This power that I've obtained has helped with my immortality, but along with all kinds of power. If I could bring people to life, why not turn back time?"
I nodded my head slowly while looking back to everyone and turning back to her. "Wouldn't that mean…we'd all forget everything that's happened?"
Her eyes widened a bit while she got back her blank expression, "Ah, that's true, but not necessarily. What happened in this time will continue to exist. Just that it's time will stop here, once I turn it back, but there's also the solution of just turning the time on myself, which will only effect me and everyone else will live on here while I go back to the past."
Yami spoke up while she stood next to Mark and Koyo, "Doesn't that mean, Eclipse will be alive again as well. Then all of us will turn back to our old selves...right?"
She nodded her head while sighing. "Hm, yeah. That's why I'd probably be best for me to just go back on my own."
(Sammy Girl POV)
I felt some people staring at me while one person walking behind me, but before I could turn, I'd been smacked across the head. "Gah!"
"Idiot, you are Wolf," I looked up to see it was Evangeline, "Do you really think we'd all like to stay in this time with out you in it?"
I felt my face light up a bit while I stared at her for a bit as I repeated the words in my head, until I eventually popped. I heard everyone already laughing from my reaction, but Evangeline then hit me again.
I looked back to see she had crossed her arms while her face was lit up, "D-Don't flatter yourself."
I felt a small smile on my face while I stood up straight, "Right. Well, is that how everyone feels?" Was what I said while I looked over to everyone.
Angel nodded her head while she held her hands close to her chest, "Y-Yes, well I believe so! I don't want to keeping going on if one of the people I cherish leaves."
I felt my blush come back while she also turned unbelievably red, Asuna walked up to her while patting her back, "Ha-ha, I couldn't have said it any better myself."
Mark, Yami, and Koyo stood silent while they stared at each other, until they turned towards me only for Koyo to come up and place his hand on my shoulder. "If you can save us once, you can do it again."
I felt my eyes water a bit while I nodded, "Un!"
"Sammy-kun," I turned towards my left to see Negi looking up towards me, "We're all here with you, so just turn the clock because no one wants see you go."
I laughed a bit while I patted his head, "Right."
I grabbed at my charm bracelet that was in my pocket, then just held on to the clock charm, "This should help me a bit."
I walked back away from everyone as I could see them all, it'd been I almost a year since I came to Mahora, but I didn't think I'd get to relive everything. I actually didn't mind, because I loved being with these people.
I pulled out the clock charm from the bracelet while I let the rest fall to the ground, the hand with the charm I held right in front of my chest while I flowed my power into it and thought of the perfect time to go back to.
I felt my aura surround me while my left fist started to glow from the activation of the charm, but before I left I heard voice calling out to me.
I looked back towards everyone to see it was Asuna, Angel, and Evangeline standing there while they gave me these heart-filled smiles. They all seemed like they were thinking the same thing.
"Is there something I forgot?"
They looked at each other only to start giggling a bit. That's when Angel turned back while having slight tears in her face, "Make sure to pick the one you love this time."
I felt my cheeks heat up while stuttering like a complete idiot. Asuna laughed while nodding her head, agreeing with her. "This way you won't have us waiting again."
"Make sure you make the right choice as well," said Evangeline while she slowly turned towards me with a warm smile I hadn't seen on her face in forever, "In which you choose me."
I felt my smile start to get crooked while my face started to turn into as red as an apple.
I shook my head to snap myself out of it while feeling everything starting to get lighter. This was once again going to be good-bye.
I looked back, "We'll meet again…literally."
They all nodded while some were even crying; then again it was only Negi and Angel who were crying. Everyone else seemed very accepting, but Asuna, who was now giving me her back.
"Asuna," I saw her shoulders jump, "Remember, you're the first person I meet. Ha-ha, can't wait to experience that again. My first time experiencing your wrath."
She laughed while her back was still towards me, "Idiot. You're just looking forward to seeing my panties."
I felt my face heat up while everyone turned towards her while Negi just started chuckling to himself. He looked up towards me, "So, you're just going to turn the time on yourself, am I right?"
After he said that, everyone looked worried, but I nodded my head while I was started to be surrounded by the light.
"W-Wait," said the other me while looking over to Negi, "But you just said yourself, Negi! We're all here together!"
He looked down while the glare of his glasses covered his eyes, "Do you think she'd bring back Setsuna and Seito if she was just going to turn time. Why that wouldn't make sense. They'd just come back to life anyway. She brought them back because she knew she wasn't going to be in this time anymore."
Asuna turned her head a little bit over to me, "You really are selfless, aren't you?"
"Yup. Anything for you guys."
She turned slowly while I could now see she'd started to cry, it almost tore my heart in pieces. "See you later."
I nodded my head while everything started to get even brighter, "See you soon."
That's when the flash happened, everyone that was in front of me was now gone.
Me? Well, I was now floating through literally time and space while all of my memories left me, because there's no way I could have any memories of that again. Though I'll have the right intuition about everything. Which will lead be to a different future.
I looked up to see that this portal or whatever it was, was coming to a close end as it got brighter.
I looked down at myself to see I'd shrunken a bit in my height along with other things in my body. My hair was now reaching around my shoulders, but I had no clothes on. I guess, I'm going to see where I'll get once I pass through there. Though I won't remember this.
I closed my eyes while the light started to hurt them.
That's when everything about the old me, was gone.
I opened my eyes to see myself standing by the Mahora Academy Gate. My hand was no at the back of my head while I started to get confused.
"Weird, I don't remember walking here," I shrugged it off, "Whatever, I must have blacked out on the way here."
I sighed while I shook my head while my black hair past-shoulder length flew everywhere. My clothes were straightened out.
I was wearing a red t-shirt with a white stripe going through the middle horizontally, dark brown shorts that end around mid-thigh, and some slip on shoes that were black.
While I started to walk while I hung on to the strap of my back pack with my right hand and my left held on to my duffle bag,
"Mahora Academy, woah. This place sure is big! Though I'm going to have to get use to it."
I walked down the path leading to the girls's dorm, as I walked noticed some girls were walking back or going into town.
Maybe they're allowed to go anywhere in their free time? That's pretty cool.
As I made my way into the dorms, I noticed someone was coming up to me while having a camera ready in her hands.
"U-Um, I'm sorry, is there something I can help you with?"
"Actually, yes," was what she said while she quickly took a picture, but the light was so bright that it made me go blind for a good few seconds. "Did you just transfer?"
I nodded my head while I started walking backwards from getting light headed.
"H-Hey, new girl! Watch out!"
I didn't understand why she said that, but that's when I felt someone's presence behind me. "Oh," I said under my breath while already feeling like something bad was going to happen.
I shifted myself by sliding my right foot behind me and turning myself towards the person I had bumped into.
I noticed who it was that I had caused trouble to, it was a girl who attend this academy since she was wearing the uniform. Her orange hair was put into two pig-tails while there were bells on the ties. The color of her eyes were two different ones, one a dark blue while the other was a dark green.
It was something I'd never seen a person have. It was beautiful, because they both had such great life in them.
She fell back while I stretched out my arms to catch her. Though once she fell into my arms, I couldn't resist but to look at those eyes.
Feeling myself chuckle a bit while she looked at me in shock. "Ah," I started to say, "Sorry I bumped into you."
She hesitated while her face lit up a bit around the cheeks. "Thank you."
I nodded my head while helping her stand up straight. She got up while standing back next to the little boy who was with her.
The only thing I could do before that girl with the camera decided to ask me some questions or take more pictures, I got my legs ready while quickly launching myself to the top of the stairs.
I had a strong grip in my bags while I made it and ran out towards the left hallway.
Already feeling myself starting to relax while I grabbed for the note my aunt had given me before I left. The room number was written in it.
203. Huh. I wonder if I'll have a roommate. Maybe she'll be nice if I do have one. Smart? Kind? Serious? I'll find out.
It didn't take long for me to now be in front of the room's door. Though once I got there, I realized something. There was an amazingly strong aura coming from inside.
This is where I got scared just for that moment while I reached out to the door ready to knock on it. There was no one I was expecting behind this door, but whoever it is, they must be strong.
I knocked on the door while feeling this strong aura coming from inside. I didn't move, whoever was in there, they were amazingly well trained. I'm not going in there. I'll just find the office first.
I turned around while getting a good grip on my things. Though as I went back, I noticed that reporter, the orange haired girl, and little boy were already gone.
"Dang," I said while walking down the stairs, "Now I can't even ask anyone for directions."
"You need directions?"
I looked in front of me to see a small girl with long dark purple hair that had bell ties while her bangs were short around her forehead. She was wearing the school uniform, so that's when I decided to ask her.
"Oh, yeah. I'm sorry to bother you. Though I don't know where the dean's office is, could you tell me where it is exactly?"
She was sipping on this weird looking juice while looking at me intently, that's when she nodded her head.
"Do you have a piece of paper?"
I nodded quickly while getting a notepad out of my bag along with a pen. While I handed it to her, she gave me her juice box to hold.
As she scribbled where to go, I looked at the juice box to see what flavor it was. Though my Japanese wasn't good and it being in this weird font didn't help. Though it said something about leeks and strawberries.
Gross.
"Here."
I came back to reality to see she had the notepad right in front of my face. Once I grabbed for it and gave back her drink, she started to walk up the stairs, I felt like I was forgetting something. Ah!
"Ah, I'm Sammy Rose!"
She stopped mid-way while she turned towards me with the straw to her lips. She slowly pulled it away while looking very serious. "Yue Ayase." That's when she kept walking.
I didn't move, I just watched her go up the steps. I didn't know why, but my heart, I could hear it in my ears.
As I watched her, I noticed something coming up, as I saw her foot slip. I reacted almost immediately. "Ayase-san!"
I jumped for her while I extended my arms out to her, I noticed, I wasn't going to catch her, but that I was just going to be her human cushion. "Crap-gah!"
She landed safely on top of me while I face planted on the floor. I turned my head a bit only to feel my face light up, her legs were towards me only allowing me to see up her skirt. Though the only thing I saw before smashing my face back into the floor was lace. Lace. Lacey underwear. So bold.
I could feel her shuffling atop of me, but it didn't take long for her to get off of me.
"I-I'm so sorry, I just slipped. I guess I lost my footing." Was what she said while there was a light color coming to her cheeks.
I shook my head while launching myself up, "It's okay. As long as you're fine."
I looked over to her to see she still had that same expression on her face, but her cheeks brightened up a bit. I took the map in my hand while walking out the door.
"Well, thank you! Ayase-san!"
While I ran out of there, I could still sense her presence by the doors. Though I didn't turn back, I kept going.
I even had to take the train to get to where I was going. Dang, this place has it's own shuttle! Too big!
It didn't take long, but as soon as the train stopped, I bolted for it. With my eyes on the map and relying on my senses, it took a few minutes to reach the main building.
As I looked around, there were many students, but they seemed older, probably the senior students.
I somehow found my way to the dean's door. I knocked a few times while waiting to see if anyone would answer. That's when the door slowly opened.
Behind it was a girl. She had long brown hair, her eyes were big as it's color matched her hair, and she wore the school uniform. Though something was off about her. Like there was some kind of power coming from her.
"Yes?"
I bowed quickly while speaking up, "Ah, I'm here to see the dean."
"Oh, Sammy-kun," asked an old voice behind this girl. She stepped back while I opened the door. Though when I walked in, I noticed the dean was at his desk.
He wasn't what I expected.
He was a very old looking man, wrinkles, long while beard while his hair and eyebrows were the same. "Y-Yes, I'm the new transfer," I started saying while I looked over to the girl in the room, "student?"
He shook his head, "You don't have to worry, Sammy-kun. She's my grand-daughter, Konoka Konoe."
I looked over to her to see she was just standing there smiling. I nodded, "I'm Sammy Rose." I looked back towards the dean, "Ah, about…my job then?"
He nodded while he waved for Konoka to come closer, "Your job, will be to protect my grand-daughter, Konoka."
I nodded my head while I looked over to Konoka, she didn't seen happy about it. "B-But grand-father! What about Set-chan?"
Set-chan?
The dean didn't seem phased by her, "Setsuna-kun will still be your number one, Konoka, but Sammy-kun is going to be second in command. Setsuna knows how to do tails men and kai, but Sammy as her animal instincts."
"Animal instincts?" She asked questioningly.
I felt the sweat drop down my temple, this old man! Did you have to say that?
The dean nodded his head, "Yes," he said while he looked over to me, "You see, Setsuna, who'll you be working with, is also a hanyou like yourself. Except she's half crow."
I nodded my head while dropping my bags as Konoka kept her gaze towards me.
"Interesting," I said while crossing my arms, "But, if you don't mind me asking, if your grand-daughter already has a protector, why does she need me?"
That's when his expression changed, he stopped looking all happy and fun-going, but a very serious face. "Someone is coming for her powers."
"Powers?"
Konoka seemed hesitant about him speaking of this, but she stood there while clinching her fists.
"For you see," the old man said, "My grand-daughter is one of the strongest mages that's come to be. Her power can be very overwhelming. In the past, there was a group who's come to take her away and use her power for the wrong reasons."
I nodded my head while I felt my hands close into fists. "I see. You just wanted to make sure that she's be even safe hands."
He nodded his head while crossing his arms, "Also…it was kind of a promise between your parents."
I felt a bit confused Konoka looked over to him and spoke up, "You mean, Daddy had planned this?"
The dean nodded his head, "You see, you, Konoka, and Setsuna-kun have known each other quite longer than you think. Sammy's father had agreed with Eishun, when Sammy was old enough, she'd come back and be with Konoka and Setsuna. To be partners and protect Konoka."
I felt my eyes widen while I just looked at this man. I couldn't believe this, this is the first I'm hearing anything of my father, let alone of his past or that fact that I've met Konoka before.
I looked over to her while she looked at me. I sighed while turning towards her. "Konoka-sama," I said while going down on one knee, "If it was my father that out me to this, then it's an honor to protect you."
She seemed taken back while her hands were close to her chest. "Sammy-kun," she said while placing her hand on my left shoulder, "If you're going to be protecting me, I'd like us to be friends."
I looked up at her while noticing she was smiling, so I smiled back. I nodded my head while standing up and taking her hand. Her face seemed surprised from my sudden action, but her cheeks got a slight color to them.
"Okay, I'd like that."
She nodded her head while she gripped my hand, "Yay, now Set-chan will have someone to get along with, so will Asuna. I'm sure they'll like you."
"Ahem," we both looked to our side to see the dean smiling, "Sammy, if you don't mind, could you finish your oath to Konoka, I'm sure you Sensei taught it to you."
I felt my cheeks flush while letting go over her hand, "B-But…"
"I know," he said, "But it's how you start your job."
I nodded, "H-Hai."
I looked back to Konoka only to see she seemed very confused. I sighed while getting back on my knee and taking her hand again.
"Konoka Konoe," I said while she looked at me, it seemed like she was trying to process what I was going to say, "I, Sammy Rose, promise to never let you out of my sight. I promise to not let anything hurt you or my mission would have become a waste. From now on, if you're ever in danger, I'll do everything in my power, to save you. Even if it shall cost me my own life…"
I noticed Konoka got a slight blush on her face, while I must have gotten even darker. I felt my eyebrow twitching while I started to shake a bit, c-crap. I hate that oath. It sounds like I'm devoting my love for her. Sigh, even though I know this is just pretty much suppose to be for when the protector is a man…not a teenage girl like myself.
"Well," said the dean while clapping his hands together, "That was beautiful, maybe I should consider you for an omai!"
I quickly stood up while Konoka looked over to him, we both spoke up in unison, "Don't joke about that Grandfather/Dean!"
We looked at each other while the dean laughed. I scratched the back of my head while Konoka placed her hand behind her back.
The dean then motioned with his hands for us to leave, "Now, go on you two! Konoka, if you wouldn't mind, please show Sammy-kun to her room."
Konoka nodded while we made our way to the door while I grabbed for my bags. Once we stepped out and the door closed, Konoka started to giggle a bit, but then she couldn't help but laugh.
"Konoka-sama?"
She looked over to me while wiping a tear away, "Ha-ha, you were so cute back there!"
I felt my face heat up while freezing up. "H-Huh?"
She smiled while walking in front of me, "It really sounded like you were proposing to me! Then you were shaking and your face was beat red! Ah, you're just like Set-chan! You two will defiantly get along."
I sighed while I caught up to her. This girl…she's different all right, but I don't think I'll mind spending most of my time with her.
