Plans

It was a hectic twenty days. Sam moved home, Jonathan moved back upstairs; Mona didn't move anywhere, but she was in the main house so often she might as well have moved in. The jeweler was contacted, it wouldn't be cheap, but Angela would have her wedding band for her second wedding. Tony was working on a surprise for the reception, one he hoped would floor Angela. Each day was a flurry of work and planning, Angela was enjoying every moment of having the whole family home and working on the wedding together.

One night, after the rest of the family had gone to bed, Tony and Angela were sitting on the couch going over a detail when Tony half joked, "Hey Angela, we're gonna have two weddings and two receptions. Doesn't that qualify us for a second honeymoon?"

Far from negating the idea for lack of time as Tony thought she might, Angela pounced on the idea, "right you are, my love. In fact, I think we should honeymoon in every state."

He arched an eyebrow, inwardly regretting all the years they'd wasted being too scared to acknowledge the truth between them. Instead of silky negligees slipping through his fingers as they slid off Angela; years had slipped through his fingers instead. How had that happened? They were so close for so long...he stopped, he couldn't live in the past, dissecting every decision. All he could do now was make up for lost time, toward that end he cleared his throat and put an arm around his wife, "I like your goal oriented mind," he said, leaning in to kiss her temple.

Angela smiled and touched his jaw line, "we have Florida," she drew her thumb down to his chin, "Connecticut," the thumb went back up to join the rest of her fingers, "and New York taken care of" she gave him a quick kiss and then ticked a potential objection off the list, "wouldn't want your spring break going to waste, why not be like the other students and spend the week lost in a sexual wonderland."

Tony was so lost in the fantasy Angela was creating that he had to shake his head to clear it and point out a minor problem, "I have a break from school, I don't have a break from my job."

"Job?" With their boss and employee relationship relegated to the past, Angela had almost forgotten Tony ever worked for her. Technically speaking; he still did, but since their engagement, household accounts ran very differently. Tony will still having some difficulty dealing with this, but he was making progress.

She ran a finger down his chest, "I think I can convince your 'boss' to give you some time off for very good behavior."

He laughed. Angela the flirt was an unexpected delight. He knew he shouldn't have been surprised by the release of Angela's far too long suppressed libido, after all he'd had hints from Brian, Brian Thomas; but that was Angela in her volcanic youth, he didn't expect her appetite now to be the same as it was then. What did one of his high school teachers tell him so long ago? "Expect the unexpected," it was a homily that described his current life perfectly. "Most people wait a few years before taking a second honeymoon," he pointed out pragmatically.

"Tony, we have never been like most people."

"Touche."

Angela liked the sound of that word, "touche," she whispered it, then translated, "touch," which she did; temporarily halting the conversation of a second honeymoon while they continued their first honeymoon. The house was quiet, they were alone, enjoying a dream come true for both of them. They finally had their chance to indulge in being a couple in their own living room. It was a simple dream, but one which meant the world to them. They took their time to revel in this new reality, claiming their status as husband and wife by tenderly caressing each other while their kisses promised each other a marriage based not just on love, but of mutual respect as well.

Finally coming out of their shared dream come true, they took a few moments to gaze at each other. No words were spoken as none were needed; their long practiced silent communication was serving them well.

Eventually Angela reverted back into planning mode, "Since we have honeymooned in three states already, we could call this our fourth honeymoon. Ideas for location? You must have some thoughts."

"Yes, I do."

"I do. I love hearing you say those words."

Tony leaned a little closer to whisper, "I do."

She sighed an, "I do," in response.

Rational discourse was at a standstill for another few minutes while they indulged in practicing their kiss for their upcoming second wedding. After all, there would be more guests this time and they didn't want them to be disappointed by lack of preparation on their part. They both lived by the motto, 'prior preparation prevents poor performance' and weren't going to let lack of preparation disappoint their future guests. Oh, the things they did to keep their future guests happy, it was such a burden.

Rehearsal finally over, Tony pulled himself together enough to make his suggestion, "South Carolina?"

Angela smiled in remembrance.

Tony furthered his case, "we wouldn't want anyone to say our marriage wasn't well and truly consummated."

"No, we wouldn't. South Carolina is definitely in the plans for someday; but I'd like to get out of the frozen northeast and go tropical again.

"South Carolina isn't tropical enough?"

"No, I want to go someplace...warmer."

"Hawaii?"

Angela gasped, "yes! Perfect. Maybe I'll even learn to hula."

Tony eyes grew unfocused as he grinned; all thoughts of staid, courtly South Carolina erased from his mind, replaced by a wonderful image.

"What?" Angela flirted.

"Just thinking about you in a grass skirt," Tony's grin grew even wider.

"Hawaii it is then."

"Aloha."
