I don't own and I am borrowing for my story: Terra Nova characters, one Jurassic Park: The Lost World character (Roland), Nanosaur the Mac Game. I have also utilized Dinotopia's style of naming the 1st and 2nd Generation Nanosaurs. Some of my 2nd, 3rd and 4th generation Nanosaur will be named after some of the characters of Dinosaur Train. Ute Utahraptor's name comes from the Ute Indians in Utah.

Go Big Go…Tamed

Nethania and Nathaniel arrived on the meadow. A herd of Dimetrodon was resting in the sunlight; their sails were flush with blood, making them brightly colored. Nethania groaned as she followed her father, her body was sore and tired from sleep deprivation.

"You sit down and I'll get the tent up," Nathaniel said.

Nethania nano-morphed into Saber-Tooth Cat form and went to sit down. She looked off to Diablo Falls. She contemplated retreating to her hidden laboratory. A loud grunt drew her attention to the herd of Dimetrodon. Two Dimetrodon were having a grunting match. Their sails were flooded with blood, changing the color from red to blue.

"Nethania," Nathaniel said, drawing her attention back to him.

Her expression was blank. He gestured for her to join him. She groaned and turned away from him. Nathaniel walked towards her. Her head snapped in his direction and her expression told him to stop.

"Come on Nethania," Nathaniel said.

Nethania got to her feet and went over to the Dimetrodon herd. She plopped down among them. The two Dimetrodon that were previously having a grunting match stopped and looked at her.

Nathaniel started towards her, but stopped when the entire herd turned their attention to him.

'Be slow with her,' Dr. Shannon's words bounced around in his head.

He sighed heavily and went back to setting up camp. The sun was starting to set when Nathaniel was finished setting up. He got a small fire going and began to cook his dinner. The Dimetrodon herd dissipated into the forest, leaving Nethania alone.

"Nethania, I brought some meat for you if you're hungry," Nathaniel said.

Nethania got up slowly and walked over to him. He dropped the meat on the ground in front of her. She sniffed it and then turned away from it.

"Aw come on," Nathaniel urged. Nethania had a tired expression on her face. She grunted at his persistence and flopped down on the ground. Nathaniel finished his dinner.

The distant roar of a Baryonyx got Nethania's attention. She got to her feet quickly.

"What is it Nethania," Nathaniel asked.

The Baryonyx roared again and then all was silent. Nethania relaxed again.

"Well, I'm going to turn in," Nathaniel said. He crawled into his tent and then all became silent. Only the crackling of the fire and the distant roar of a Baryonyx broke the silence. Nethania knocked the bucket of water over into the fire, putting the flames out. She got to her feet went to a soft patch of grass and curled up.

…^…^…

Nathaniel sighed heavily. Nethania wasn't the same since coming here to Pangaea. She had more animal instinct now. Before she'd sleep in the tent, but now she was choosing to sleep outside. It bothered him but eventually tiredness overtook him and he fell asleep.

…^…^…

Nethania woke up when the roar of the Baryonyx was closer. Nethania slowly got to her feet and quietly crept off in the direction of the roar. Nethania silently stalked away from the camp. She disappeared into the darkness of the forest. She walked silently for a while before coming into a clearing.

The Baryonyx stood before her, towering over her. She cocked her head in curiosity. The Baryonyx turned its snout down to look at her. Nethania and the Baryonyx stared at each other for a long while, lost in each other's gaze. The Baryonyx was young and still relatively small. After locking gaze with each other for almost an hour the Baryonyx broke from his trance.

He slowly lay down. Nethania walked towards the dinosaur. She settled down next to the Baryonyx's tail. After a minute of looking at her, he lowered his head and dozed off. Nethania soon joined him.

…^…^…

Nathaniel woke up the next morning. He came out of his tent to find Nethania missing.

"Nethania," he called. No response.

…^…^…

Back in the clearing, Nethania woke up. She could hear her father calling for her. Nethania grumbled. She looked over at the Baryonyx. He was awake, but his head was resting on the ground.

Nathaniel called for Nethania a few more times.

"That kid," Nathaniel said. He began packing up.

…^…^…

Nethania got to her feet and moved closer to the Baryonyx's head, snuggled up against its neck and fell back asleep.

…^…^…

Nathaniel got back to the colony.

"Hey, everything alright?" Alicia asked.

"No…Nethania…she snuck off during the night," Nathaniel said.

"Did you look for her?" Alicia asked.

"Are you kidding me? She knows that land better than me. It'd be like trying to find a yellow colored needle in a haystack," Nathaniel said.

Alicia could understand his frustration.

…^…^…

Nethania woke up when the Baryonyx got up. The Baryonyx disappeared into the forest. Nethania got up and headed back to the meadow. She found the meadow empty.

"Dad," Nethania called.

She looked around and began sniffing the ground.

"Great, he must have gone back to the colony," Nethania groaned.

She started back for the colony.

"Probably didn't even bother looking for me," Nethania said.

Nethania walked onto the colony a week later.

"Hey Captain, feeling better," asked a Deinonychus on patrol. Nethania looked at him with an unhappy look on her face.

"Guess not," the Deinonychus said.

Nethania walked up the steps of the command center and walked in. Nathaniel looked up at her.

"Where have you been?" Nathaniel demanded.

"I went off to find somewhere more comfortable to sleep. You didn't even bother looking for me," Nethania said.

"I called for you," Nathaniel said.

Alicia walked in.

"But you didn't look for me. I wasn't too far away, you could have looked for me, but you didn't even bother. Do you even care about me?" Nethania said.

"You didn't bother coming out when I called for you,"
Nathaniel shouted.

"Hey," Alicia snapped at him.

"Well she didn't," Nathaniel said.

"You're not fixing the problem," Alicia said.

"Well she's not making it any easier," Nathaniel said.

"OUT, GET OUT," Alicia said.

Nathaniel took the scolding well and walked out with his tail between his legs. Alicia turned to Nethania who looked like she was ready to shred someone.

"Calm down Nethania. You look like you're ready to shred someone," Alicia said.

Nethania growled at her, her claws dug into the bamboo floor, shredding the bamboo's outer coat.

Alicia walked over to her and rubbed her shoulders. Nethania's tension began to melt away. Alicia sat on the floor beside Nethania.

"Easy Nethania, calm down," Alicia said.

Nethania let out a breath and the tension released so quickly, she collapsed. Alicia pulled the Saber-Tooth into her lap and gently petted her on the head.

"You want to talk?" Alicia asked.

"He can be such a jerk sometimes," Nethania said.

"I was talking about the Jones problem. You want to talk about what happened," Alicia said.

"What…oh, yeah…I completely forgot about that," Nethania said.

"You feeling better now," Alicia asked.

Nethania slowly got to her feet.

"Yeah, I'm feeling better," Nethania said.

…^…^…

Nethania walked back to the hangar. She got into her office and noticed she had a message on her plex. Nethania clicked on it.

"Captain, we've begun designs on weapons for your Spinosaurus morph. We think you'll like them a lot," one of Nethania's tech Troodons reported.

"Spinosaurus…I can't morph into my Spinosaurus morph without me going wild. I sure wish I knew why," Nethania said. She went to the infirmary.

"Dr. Won, could you take a vial of blood from me and the separate the nano-tech serum from it," Nethania requested.

"Sure thing Captain," Dr. Won said and began prepping her for a blood draw.

…^…^…

Nethania took Arthur Acrocanthosaurus and Travis Tyrannosaurus with her back to the Plateau. They began searching for Razortooth Baryonyx, the big mean male Baryonyx that lived on the plateau.

Nethania had created the Baryonyx, but like her Spinosaurus form, it was untamed and wild. Nethania wanted to see if there was anything that was similar with the two.

Nethania sniffed out Razortooth's scent. They followed it towards where the Baryonyx lived.

"Be extremely careful. I'll get his attention and distract him, while you two pin him down and subdue him," Nethania said as they searched for the Baryonyx.

They found the big crocodile snouted dinosaur in a small clearing. Nethania went downwind from the dinosaur and came into view.

"Hey Razortooth," Nethania said. The huge Baryonyx turned to her and snarled. He didn't even see Travis and Arthur. They rammed his side and knocked him off his feet. Travis placed all his weight on the Baryonyx hips while Arthur held down his neck with his foot.

Nethania approached the thrashing Baryonyx and began to draw blood. She pocketed the sample and then gave the Baryonyx enough tranquilizer for them to get away safely. Once the Baryonyx quieted down they left.

…^…^…

Nethania began to look at the different samples. Her own sample showed signs of decay and weak strands. The Baryonyx strand was just as bad.

"Dang it, these strands are no good," Nethania said.

"I thought you fixed it with fresh DNA," Dr. Won said.

"I filled the holes with the new DNA, but they aren't holding. They must not have been compatible. I'll have to toss the whole thing out. Both Spinosaurus and Baryonyx strands were collected from fossil specimens. We used multiple strands to build the single strand to create the Baryonyx Nanosaur. The segments were completed and enough to make the organic creature, but with certain parts falling apart causes the rage," Nethania said.

"Shouldn't the nano-bots have fixed that," Dr. Won asked.

"Seems the mental breakdown overrides the Nano-bots, just like pure maternal instincts do," Nethania said.

"So we'll need to go out and collect some new DNA from a Spinosaurus," Dr. Won said.

"Yeah, I'm going to lead an expedition to 95 million B.C.; I'll let Roland know and get permission," Nethania said.

…^…^…

Nathaniel watched Nethania begin to make preparations for her trip.

"Man that kid, I just can't believe her," Nathaniel said.

"You were a little harsh towards her. It was uncalled for. Nethania was going through a tough time. It was your job to try and help her. You didn't do a very good job. If anything you made it worse," Alicia said, looking at him sternly. She stood beside him.

Nathaniel new Alicia was right. He lowered his gaze and nodded. Alicia stepped behind him and began rubbing his shoulders.

"Any idea where she's going?" Alicia asked.

"Probably back to Nanosauria," Nathaniel said, he looked back at his daughter.

"Why don't you go down and see her off," Alicia said scratching his back.

Nathaniel straightened up and headed down the steps and made his way across the square towards Nethania. She looked up at him as he approached.

"Where you headin'," Nathaniel asked.

"95 Million B.C.," Nethania said.

Nathaniel straightened up, disliking this information.

"What for," Nathaniel asked.

"Nanosaurian business," Nethania said with a smile.

"What kind of Nanosaurian business," Nathaniel asked.

"We're going to collect some DNA samples," Nethania said.

"No more Nanosaurs Nethania," Nathaniel said.

Nethania turned to him, a scowl on her face.

"Admiral Roland is my CO, he approves of it and encourages it," Nethania said.

"Nethania, I don't like it," Nathaniel said.

Nethania looked at him; he could see urgency in her eyes.

"I need to do this," Nethania said.

Nathaniel drew a long breathe. He looked deep into her eyes.

"Why is this so important?" Nathaniel asked.

"It involves my Spinosaurus morph. We may have found a way to fix it," Nethania said.

"Spinosaurus is your favorite Dinosaur. I don't like seeing you so wild and aggressive," Nathaniel said.

Nethania climbed up onto Quickwing's back.

"Be safe, Nethania," Nathaniel said.
