HAPPY NEW YEAR'S! Here's the next one-shot! This one is based off another Pucca episode, called "Full Moon Pucca". If you don't know what it's about, I suggest watching it before seeing where I'm going with this. Let's just say things go completely awry when May tries preventing Drew from getting hurt, be he ends up getting moonstruck - and I mean that literally.

It was a full moon night, and deep in the forest was a cave… Out of the cave came a Lunatone, and its red eyes paralyzed people who looked into them, and even Pokémon were stunned into fear or paralyzed just by looking at it. Since the moon was out, Lunatone went wandering around, and it went into the bushes, ready for anything to come out at it.

Meanwhile, a few miles away, there were two girl sitting on the porch of a house. One of the girls had brown hair and blue eyes while the girl next to her had blue hair and blue eyes, as well as a Piplup in her lap.

They were looking at the moon, and they were both sighing happily, and dreamily at the sight of it.

"Isn't a full moon just beautiful, May?" The blue-haired, blue-eyed girl said, staring at the moon, while petting her Piplup's head.

"It sure is, Dawn," The brunette girl said. "I've heard rumors that a full moon is supposed to arouse romantic feelings in people."

"If that's true, then explain why we're not affected by it," Dawn said, with a cocked eyebrow and a smile. "Look over there."

May and Dawn then turned around to look at their crushes, Kenny, a boy with black eyes and chestnut-brown hair, wearing green, while the other boy, Drew, with green hair and green eyes, was wearing a purple jacket, black shirt, and blue pants with black "dress" shoes. Kenny had an Empoleon battling with Drew's Roserade, and Empoleon was using a Drill Peck-Metal Claw combination. Meanwhile, Roserade was on the ground, struggling to get up from the impact of the last attack.

"Those two…" May said, with a romantic sigh. "They never seem to pay much attention to us. Then again, if they did during their practice battles, they'd totally mess up and then blame us."

"I can see where you would say that," Dawn said. "But honestly, that romance affect the moon has doesn't seem to do anything to Drew or Kenny. Maybe… Maybe if it were closer, it could make a difference."

"I wouldn't be so sure, Dawn," May said. "The moon is 238,900 miles away from here. It's impossible for us to just go and get it and bring it here. Not to mention how out-of-whack our solar system would be if we even could."

"You're right, May," Dawn said. "Besides, I think I heard somewhere that the romance affect only arouses when the full moon's light shines on a Lunatone; if someone else is in the same light, with the Lunatone, then you get caught up in it. After that, who knows how long it lasts? But that's just a stupid legend. If we want Kenny and Drew to pay us attention, we have to make it happen on our own; we can't rely on myths or legend."

"Well-said, Dawn," May said, while sighing sadly. "But I wish Drew wouldn't tease me all the time…"

"I hear you," Dawn said. "I should go and train with Togekiss. See you later, May."

"See you, Dawn," May said, as she continued to watch Drew and Kenny. "Oh, Drew…"

"Nice work, Empoleon," Kenny said, as he stroked Empoleon's back. "I like the way Roserade moves, Drew."

"Thanks, Kenny," Drew said, as he helped Roserade up. "Using a Steel-type against my Roserade was pure genius. Roserade's Poison-type moves wouldn't do a thing!"

"Thanks for the kind words, Drew," Kenny said, as he put Empoleon back in its Poké Ball. "Let's battle again sometime."

'Why doesn't Drew notice me? Or, does he notice me and not act on it? I wish I knew… I really, really like him...' May thought, as she watched. May then sighed sadly, as she started to walk away from the scene to train with her Pokémon; Drew looked in her direction, and sighed sadly.

Kenny noticed Drew's depression, and then he asked, "Still worried about trying to confess?"

Drew nodded.

"Just come out and say it, Drew! You're not going to get anywhere with her by just locking up your emotions!" Kenny said.

"You should talk," Drew said, an anime vein throbbing. "You haven't had the guts to confess to Dawn, yet!"

Kenny blushed; Drew was right. Kenny retaliated by saying, "Now, hold it! My relationship with Dawn is not only on better terms, but it's also that of childhood friends. If I said something, then it could make or break our relationship!"

"That's a good point, but you're not going to get anywhere with her by just locking up your emotions, right?" Drew said, throwing Kenny's words right back at him.

Kenny nodded.

Both boys groaned in frustration; they were sweet on the girls, but they had not worked up the courage to say anything to them… Yet.

Meanwhile, in a clearing, the Lunatone came out of the bushes. It was standing in the moonlight, and then it started to glow a little bit. A male and a female Nidoran came out, into the light, and then they got romantic with each other. Same with two Taillow, a pair of Sunkern, and two Aipom were getting all romantic with each other once they got into the moonlight radiated by the Lunatone.

Everywhere Lunatone went, Pokémon were getting romantic in pairs and the moonlight was radiating stronger the longer Lunatone was in the moonlight, which multiplied the affect, to the point where it could even effect humans.

"Wartortle, Glaceon, let's go!" May shouted, as she sent out her two Pokémon.

"Wartortle, use Rapid Spin, then follow up with Water Gun!" May shouted.

Wartortle then jumped into the air, retracted into its shell, and started spinning rapidly. Wartortle then started shooting water out from the holes in its shell and it spiraled around it.

"Glaceon, Blizzard!" May commanded.

Glaceon shot a wind with small snow balls in it and froze the water that was coming out of Wartortle's shell, turning all the tiny droplets into ice and then Wartortle landed, stopping its water, and let the tiny ice particles rain down.

"Good work, you two." May said, as she pet her Pokémon.

However, the Lunatone then floated past her.

"A Lunatone?" May said aloud, as she saw Lunatone floating around. She noticed it was out in the moon light, during a full moon, which caused the romance spell to affect the Pokémon in the area.

May noticed that it was heading to Drew's house, before saying, "Oh, no! It's heading to Drew's place! If that legend is true… then… Something can go completely wrong! But then again, Drew's most likely asleep at this point… But…"

May noticed how intense the spell was getting, and then she resolved, "I'd better stop that Lunatone!"

May put her Pokémon back into their Poké Balls, and then she ran off to follow Lunatone.

Drew was in his bedroom, ready to go to bed, when he looked at the framed photographic portrait of May he managed to get off of Dawn. He sat on his bed, and then said aloud, "If only I could just come out and tell May how I feel… But then again, it's not like she feels the same way… But what if she does? Oh, I can't tell! I'll figure it out in the morning."

Drew then turned off the lights and went to sleep.

Meanwhile, with May, her hunch was right; Lunatone was, in fact, headed to Drew's house. May stopped behind Lunatone, and saw many of the Water Pokémon getting all romantic with each other, and May was getting very nervous. Should Drew be caught up in the spell, it could either go really well for the both of them, or it could be horrible in the end. Either way, May knew it could not happen.

May soon found herself in Drew's yard, and the Lunatone was in front of Drew's bedroom window. Not just that, but the full moon's light was directly on Lunatone, and the radiation intensified. May approached, prepared to battle.

However, Lunatone used Psychic to open up Drew's blinds. The light of the moon, combined with the light radiating from Lunatone, woke Drew up, and then May, in a panic, was too scared to move her feet.

Drew came to the window, and then he stopped dead in his tracks, as the light of the moon and the Lunatone was stuck in his eyes. He then laid eyes on May, who was standing in the moonlight, too, and then the spell fell into place.

"Don't look, Drew! You'll fall under the Lunatone spell! I don't want you getting caught up in the legend!" May shouted.

However, Drew kept staring at May, and then after rubbing his eyes, they turned into hearts. He leaped out of his window, and ran towards May. May was so shocked that the thing she was trying to prevent had taken place, and then she found herself in Drew's arms, being spun around, and kissed on the lips. May went red in the face, partially from embarrassment, and partially from the fact that she was being kissed by the boy she loved.

"Let's go out on a date." Drew said, as he broke the kiss.

"Huh?! This late at night?! That's crazy!" May shouted, embarrassed.

"Come on!" Drew said, as he grabbed May's wrist and started to run into town.

May then noticed Drew had a glazed, full-moon look in his eyes.

'Oh, no… He's Lunatone-struck!' May thought, concerned.

Drew was walking with May on the sidewalk of the city, holding May's hand. She was really embarrassed with the situation, and hoped that the spell would wear off soon.

However, Drew then surprised May once again; when they came to a puddle, Drew sacrificed his jacket to the puddle, and then as he got on the other side, he led May across the jacket on the ground. May went red in the face, as she felt really surprised at the fact that Drew sacrificed his own clothes for her. As far as she knew, Drew always did his best to look his best, be it clothes or hair.

'This is completely out of character! But… It's kind of nice…' May thought, but she knew that the situation was far from real.

May and Drew then ran right past Dawn, with Piplup on her head, and then noticing the situation, Dawn, confused, said, "What's going on? Did Drew confess in the dead of night? Or did that legend come true…?"

May, still red in the face, was soon brought back home by Drew, who opened the door, and led her inside. In their pajamas, May's brother Max, and her parents, were watching the banter and they noticed how embarrassed May was.

"What's this about?" Caroline, May's mother, said.

Drew went around the house, and gathered up flowers, before going back to May, getting on his knees, and giving them to May. She gingerly took them, and Drew then stood up, lifted her chin, and gave May a peck on the cheek.

May went red at the face, and used the flowers to hide her red cheeks, while thinking, 'What the heck?!'

"It looks like Drew is under some sort of… Enchantment." Max said.

Norman, May's father, looked out the door, and using some binoculars, he saw the Lunatone in the moonlight, in front of Drew's house. Turning back to his family, and closing the door, he told Caroline and Max, "He must be Lunatone-struck! Literally!"

"Don't tell me it's that legend about the Lunatone's effect on romantic feelings during a full moon…" Max said.

"I'm afraid it is," Norman said. "But who knows how long this will last…"

"I'm not sure how May is liking this," Caroline said. "She's blushing and going red in the face, but she's not laughing. In fact, she seems more scared than happy."

"Let's see what happens…" Max said, as he went upstairs to get some sleep, while releasing a yawn.

Drew soon left, and May went to bed, after putting away the flowers. She felt like something had gone completely wrong, but at the same time, she liked it. However, since the next night was not a full moon, she felt that the spell would wear off the next day.

However, she was to be proven wrong. Waking up the next day, she got dressed, and then went outside, only to see Drew there. He gave her a mock-salute, and May said, "D-Drew, what are you doing here?!"

"I was waiting for you to wake up," Drew said, with the spelled look in his eyes. "So we can go out on another date!"

May sweat dropped, and felt like the spell would never go away after that.

"Aren't you getting a little ah- Hey, hey, wait, where are we going?!" May shouted, as Drew then dragged her off somewhere.

"I just hope those two will be okay…" Norman said, from his bedroom window.

Drew took May out to a restaurant, and then while May was enjoying her meal, she decided not to order too much. Just as she was about to take another bite, Drew leaned over the table and kissed her on the lips. After he pulled back, Drew winked, and said, "You look so cute when you eat."

May sweat dropped, and said, "Um, thank you…"

Dawn was watching everything from outside. She then secretly sent a text to May, and then left the scene, hoping not to get caught.

Drew then took May to a meadow of flowers, where they sat down and had some time watching the flowers and seeing the Pokémon fly about the meadows. Drew then kissed May on the lips, as she turned her face to him to try telling him something. May went red in the face and just did not reply.

Later that day, after their date was over, May met up with Dawn at their secret hangout. May then relayed to Dawn what had happened over the past two days, including the Lunatone, the moon, everything.

"So, the legend of a Lunatone arousing romance during a full moon is true…" Dawn said.

"And since the full moon is long over, I thought the spell would subside, but Drew's still acting like a chivalrous gentleman with me!" May said, still red in the face.

"But didn't you want Drew to be more romantic with you?" Dawn inquired.

"Yes, I did, but not like this! Drew's not being his true self. This isn't the same guy I've always known." May said.

"Then just get rid of the Lunatone," Dawn said. "If we battle it, then drive it away, then the spell should break."

"Are you sure that's going to work?" May said. "What if that Lunatone isn't there when we get there? Then we know the spell is permanent."

"Well, we won't know unless we go for broke, right?" Dawn said.

May nodded, and said, "Right…"

"But let's see if the spell doesn't wear off tomorrow," Dawn said. "If it doesn't wear off by tomorrow, then we have to get rid of that Lunatone!"

"Thanks, Dawn," May said. "Let's get going."

Once May left the hiding spot, she went into town to try and find information on the legend. She came up empty however. On the other hand, Drew did not show up even once.

May felt relieved, but at the same time, disturbed; what Drew was up to, she had no idea. May then heard her phone ring, and then she picked up to see that it was Dawn calling her.

Picking up, May said, "Hey, Dawn, what's the matter?"

"I got some more information on that spell," Dawn said over the phone, while looking things up on her computer. "It looks like we definitely need to get rid of that Lunatone, and judging by Drew's behavior, Lunatone is still at Drew's house."

"So, let's go, now!" May said.

"I wouldn't…" Dawn said.

"Why not?" May inquired.

"According to the information, a Lunatone is a lot more likely to move around in the dead of night, so we'll have to wait until late at night; it's likely asleep in the same spot at this time, and waking it up in battle will just make it harder for us to get rid of it." Dawn said, over the phone.

"Understood…" May said, with a groan.

May then went back into the house, and Norman asked, "How was Drew acting today?"

"I wouldn't know; I haven't seem him today… YET…" May said, emphasizing "yet", as she was sure Drew was going to pop up out of nowhere.

May then went into her bedroom, and then she saw a bouquet of roses on her vanity. Her mother came in, and said, "I forgot to mention, Drew dropped those off for you a few hours ago."

"Great…" May said, sarcastically. "This isn't the real Drew…"

"I understand, but you've wanted him to pay more attention to you, right?" Caroline said.

"Maybe so, but not like this…" May said, as she sat on the bed. "If not for that Lunatone legend… I would have just told Drew how I felt."

"You didn't ask for it to happen, May," Caroline said. "You just need to find a way to break the spell. If anything, Drew won't remember. And if he doesn't pretend like nothing happened, tell him how you feel, and then if he feels the same, that's a step in the right direction."

"Thanks…" May said, as she hugged her mother.

Later that night, May decided to get some sleep before going after the Lunatone; she would need the extra energy in her batteries.

However, she was woken up by some music outside the house. Tiredly, she went to the window, and opened it, only to see Drew, dressed in a tuxedo vest and shoes, and he was singing something from outside the window.

"Oh, how I love you. My sweetheart, my May!" Drew sang, and then anime hearts flew from his mouth and to the window.

"Your lips like candy…" Drew kept singing.

May groaned in frustration and annoyance before shutting the window with a loud bang, and then the anime hearts shattered as they hit the window. May then came outside, only to see Drew still singing at the window, as if thinking she was still there. She noticed something about Drew's singing voice.

'These aren't Drew's normal vocals. He's usually tone-deaf.' May thought, as she then noticed the sound was coming from behind the fence.

She then kicked the fence post, to find a boom box. May then angrily turned it off, causing Drew to stop. She then glared in his direction, causing him to turn red in embarrassment and then sweat drop.

"Are you serious?! Lip syncing?" May said, really annoyed with Drew.

May then went back inside the house. Hearing the music, Norman and Caroline woke up and came downstairs to check on May.

"So, May, it looks like Drew's behavior hasn't changed," Norman said. "Has it?"

"No! He's not the same Drew I've always known and loved! Now's the time to battle that Lunatone!" May shouted. She then ran upstairs, failing to notice that Drew had came into the house with a large heart-shapped box of chocolates that he made.

Getting her bag and her Poké Balls, she ran out of the house, and got on her motorized scooter. She then put on her helmet, and texted Dawn to meet her at Drew's house to get rid of Lunatone. Drew came out to talk to May, but May immediately turned on the ignition and drove off to Drew's house. In her rearview mirror, she saw Drew still chasing after May… On his Flygon.

"Ack!" May said, before picking up the speed.

She soon skid to a halt when she made it to Drew's house, and Dawn and Piplup were there, waiting for her.

"Ready?" May said, as she got off her scooter.

"Yes," Dawn said, with a nod. "Lunatone is still in the yard, and the spell is still in affect, I see…"

"Then we'd better hurry!" May said. "I'll get Venusaur and Wartortle out."

"I've got Piplup with me, so let's do it!" Dawn said.

"Venusaur, Wartortle, On Stage!" May said, calling out her two Pokémon.

"Ready, Piplup?" Dawn said, as Piplup leaped out of her arms, and went next to Wartortle and Venusaur.

"Piplup, Whirlpool!" Dawn commanded.

Piplup raised its flippers and beak up, while turning bluish-white, and then it created a giant whirlpool after opening his beak. Piplup then threw the whirlpool at Lunatone, immobilizing it.

"Now it can't move!" Dawn said.

Lunatone was upset. Using Psychic, it threw Venusaur into Wartortle, causing both Pokémon to fall to the ground. Venusaur took a little more damage than Wartortle, as it was part Poison-type.

"I stand corrected…" Dawn said.

"I'll take this! Venusaur, Petal Dance! Wartortle, Water Gun!" May commanded.

Venusaur released sparkling, pink petals from the flower on its back while Wartortle shot water from its mouth at Lunatone, who was still stuck in the whirlpool. The more damage Lunatone took, the angrier it got.

It then shot a beam of ice at the Pokémon, but Piplup jumped in and countered it with its own Ice Beam, causing a collision and creating a large ball of ice in the middle of the battlefield.

"That Lunatone knows Ice Beam?!" Dawn said, in fright.

"No time to be nervous, Dawn! Let's go! Venusaur, Razor Leaf! Wartortle, Bubble!" May commanded.

"Piplup, Hydro Pump!" Dawn commanded.

Venusaur shot leaves from its back at Lunatone, and Wartortle sprayed bubbles from its mouth at Lunatone. Piplup flattened a bubble in front of its beak and then it shot a large stream of water at Lunatone. However, despite being stuck in the whirlpool, Lunatone used Psychic again and sent the moves right back at the opposing Pokémon.

"Piplup, Ice Beam!" Dawn shouted.

"You, too, Wartortle!" May shouted.

Both water Pokémon then shot beams of ice at the moves, freezing them, and then May commanded, "Venusaur, Petal Dance, once more!"

Venusaur once again unleashed sparkling, pink petals from the flower on its back at Lunatone, dealing damage.

"May! Oh, sweet May, where are you?" Drew said.

May then froze up and then said, "It's Drew!"

"Let's hurry!" Dawn said.

"He's on his Flygon! He'll see us from the air!" May said, in a panic.

"Ready? Piplup, Bubblebeam!" Dawn commanded.

Piplup shot a stream of glowing, blue bubbles at Lunatone, weakening it, and then the Whirlpool dealt more damage.

"May, my love!" Drew said, from above the air, on Flygon.

"Oh, no!" May shouted.

"May, deliver the final blow!" Dawn said.

May hesitated, as she saw Drew coming down at her on Flygon and then sighed sadly, before saying, "Goodbye, Drew. Venusaur, Razor Leaf!"

Venusaur then shot leaves at Lunatone, knocking it out, and then the glow from the moon stopped, and then the moonlight disappeared.

Drew's eyes then went blank for a second before waking up, and then when he noticed where he was, he said, "What the?! Hey, Flygon, what's going on?!"

Flygon landed, and then Drew got off, before looking at the scene.

"Venusaur, Wartortle, return." May said, putting her Pokémon back in their balls.

"What happened?" Drew said, confused, as he approached May.

May was crying tears of joy as she then leaped onto Drew, saying, "Oh, Drew! I'm so glad you're back to normal!"

"B-Back to normal? What are you talking about?" Drew said, albeit he was going red in the face, happy that he was getting hugged by May.

"It's a long story, but let's just say that the legend of the romance-arousing Lunatone came true…" Dawn said, waving her hand in front of her face.

May explained the entire story, and then Drew went red in the face while saying, "I did WHAT?!"

May and Dawn nodded; Drew sat on the ground, and then he said, "I can't believe that happened!"

"Believe it… I was afraid you'd never become your old self again," May said, sadly. "I really missed the realyou."

"May… I guess that wasn't the best way to tell you how I felt." Drew said.

"What?" May said.

"I've liked you for the longest time, May," Drew said, getting up, while still red in the face. "I just never had the courage…"

"I guess Lunatone gave you that courage, albeit it wasn't in the best way possible…" May said, with a sweat drop.

"I guess…" Drew said, blushing. "But I guess with the way I acted, I'm not getting you as my girlfriend any time soon…"

"With the confession you gave me just now, I think you'd be wrong." May said, with a wink, before kissing Drew on the cheek.

Drew went red in the face.

"All's well that ends well, right, Piplup?" Dawn said, and Piplup nodded in agreement.

"Dawn! There you are!" Kenny said, from the side.

The trio looked at Kenny, to see him decked out in a tuxedo vest, holding a bouquet of red roses in his right hand, a box of chocolates in the left, and a full moon look in his eyes towards Dawn.

"Dawn, please, be my girlfriend!" Kenny said, as he approached.

"Oh, no! Not the moon spell again!" Dawn said.

"Looks like another Lunatone went to Kenny's house…" May said, as she and Drew sweat dropped.

"Dawn, please go out with me!" Kenny said, as he chased after Dawn, who ran off, with Piplup still in her arms.

"Deja vu…" May said, sweat dropping.

"Shall we go to Kenny's and break the spell?" Drew said.

"PLEASE DO!" Dawn shouted, from a distance.

"Let's go." May said, as she and Drew then ran off to Kenny's house for a rerun of the night's events...

Okay, I know, a happy ending for Drew and May, but I wanted to end this one-shot on a funny note. And you have to admit, a rerun of the event is pretty funny. Poor Dawn...
