A/N: So, last chapter left some of you confused and also asked to why I was confused. That was a joke of mine, but I guess I was never really for comedy.

I apologize if the chapter was confusing but there is a reason for that. so, this chapter is the answer giver.

To some of your questions.

The reason for this style of writing is that I leave it up to the readers to figure things out on their own or put the pieces all together before I have to give it to them. I love reading guesses and giving my own in other people's stories.

So I did a time jump. But I will edit them as to not make anymore confusion.

DISCLAIMER: I OWN NOTHING.

"What? You're going too?" Sookie asked a bright smile in her face. She felt relieved. Maybe this was the universe telling her that maybe Godric will let her have a life.

"I'm going to Louisiana for a very special case I have been working on. What reasons do you have to go down there too?" His face was completely void of any emotion. Her face fell, but she wasn't backing down just yet.

This was her life she had to take control off. Taking a deep breath, she slowly spoke, carefully choosing her words. "I'm turning 21 next week. And I would really love to go out and have some fun…with my friends. My only friends." She knew it was a cheap shot by using guilt for her lack of friends, but she had to bring out what little defenses she has.

Godric's face softened and sighed. One of the many human traits he was starting to get used to when he raised Sookie. "Why not just send them here in London? Pam and Alcide…and Eric?"

She rolled her eyes when Eric's name came up. "Yeah, well I know they're not a lot of them. But I want to be with my friends in my hometown. I miss the sun, the weather and I want to be a part of Alcide and Pam…and maybe Eric's life too. I want to see what they do and how they're like now."

Godric paused. "I forbid it."

Sookie didn't speak for a while, her temper rising. "You forbid it? You forbid it?!" She closed her eyes and bit her lip. As much as she could that time, she couldn't keep herself calm enough. "I'm 20 years old, Godric! I have been stuck by your side for years. Not that it's bad or anything, but I need to go out and have fun."

He was calm and it irritated Sookie further. "I completely understand what you feel, Sookie."

"Well, thank you. For understanding. So, I can go, right?"

"No." Godric turned his attention to his tablet and started poking at it. He walked to the other room and ignored her scream of frustration.

She followed with angry steps. "Godric!" He was nowhere to be found and cried out, "What are you hiding from me? And what am I exactly hiding from?"

There was no answer from him, and hot tears of frustration came out falling out of her eyes. "Please, if you care for me, at least tell me the truth. That I am worth knowing what is really going on!"

Godric flew down in front of her in a flash. He hugged her and shushed her gently. "I apologize if I keep avoiding this topic with you. I wasn't sure when you would be ready."

Sookie lifted her head from his shoulder and looked at him questioningly. When he absently rubbed her back and continued to comfort her, she calmed down. "I'm turning 21 next week. I can handle it."

"Age does not matter, nor is it an equivalent measure of a person's emotional and mental maturity and understanding, my dear."

Still wrapped in Godric's arms, she put her head down in defeat. "Am I not mature enough?"

"No…in different terms you are older than people your age. You are gentle and kind and understanding. You are loyal, determined, strong, brave, courageous and noble. You may not see them yet, but I do. Those are rare qualities to have these days." He let go of her and made her face him, looking into her eyes. To make sure that he meant every word and that she should know this. "You are definitely mature enough to handle this."

Sookie smiled and wiped her tears away with the back of her hand. "Then what is keeping you from telling this big secret."

Godric looked down at the floor and asked her to sit down. She sat on the bottom of the step from the stairs and waited. Godric stood there his body tense; he paced the floor like he had troubles speaking his mind. Every second that passed he became more and more…frustrated. She had never seen him like this, Godric was the calmest and the most patient vampire/man she had ever seen.

He opened his mouth and closed it a few times. He looked at her and disappeared, the next second he was back holding an old shoe box. "Perhaps it was I who was not ready to tell you this."

"Geez, whatever happens Godric, I won't hate you." She joked nervously trying to elevate the tension that Godric seemed to have difficulty with.

He gave a sad smile before handing the box to her. "I will remember that after you know the truth."

Sookie put the box on her lap and opened it carefully. A teddy bear was there and a letter. None of these items gave her any clue as to why it had something to do with her. But there were pictures with notes written on the back of them down in the bottom of the box.

She gasped as she saw all of them. Old pictures of her when she was a child, but the people in it were almost complete strangers to her. Only vague memories were left in her mind of them.

Years ago, whenever she'd ask Godric, he would avoid the topic like the plague. Tears started to fall down her cheeks again. She felt terrible for forgetting them so easily, she felt sick that they were completely erased from her mind, and worst, why Godric had to hide all these to her. Several questions were in her mind but she did not bother to ask, she waited instead for Godric to explain. For 14 years, everything in her past was hidden from her. Surely, there were reasons why he did this to her. Good reasons. Reasonable reasons.

Godric crouched in front of her, "I made a promise to your Grandmother—"

"Adele." She interrupted but she couldn't help herself. Each memory that flashed in her mind felt like a bash at her heart. Slowly, memories start flowing through her if she thought hard enough. Where are they now? Are they alright? Is Gran doing better?

"Yes, this is what they have left for you. And I had to keep it away from you after you moved to Mississippi. You're grandmother had made a promise that I should keep your past…a secret."

"Why?"

"Adele told me that you have the Stackhouse blood."

Stackhouse. Her mind had interrupted. That's my real last name. Sookie's mind was running like a hyper hamster would in a wheel.

"She said that if you knew about them, no matter what we say, you'll be stubborn as a mule and still go after them." Without realizing it, he chuckled softly as he remembered how Adele had warned him sternly.

Sookie took a deep breath. "Why would they leave me then?"

"Sookie, they did not abandon you."

"Then why?"

He sighed, looking into her eyes. "Years before when you were at the age of five, a vampire/faerie hybrid had come to collect you as his intended."

"Faerie hybrid…what?"

"I shall explain to you that later." Sookie groaned; an emotional rollercoaster wasn't in her plans tonight. "Your grandmother did her best to find a way out for you. But it was fruitless. After a year or so, she had met Eric. It was Eric who had been trying to help you. And I sensed his great distress, so I came and offered to help him with whatever had him so troubled. He told me about this young innocent child, who would be enslaved her whole life by a vampire. I met that young girl and adopted her. I do not say that lightly, it was a very difficult decision for Adele to make. And it took her weeks to decide, but she had come to the choice that the only way you could get out of this alive without having forced to be wed to this monster, was if I take you far away from him. I could protect you and keep you safer."

"But why did you save me?"

"Decades ago, I felt empty. As if my whole existence has finally caught up with me. There are times where I wanted to meet the sun. I have lived too long in this earth. Seen too many things. Boredom and without anything to look forward to but survive, can be very strenuous. And I believe that I am a monster too, Sookie. A monster who has done several odious deeds against humanity. Redemption is something that can no longer be rewarded to me, ever. The only thing I finally look forward to is my end, little by little I was coming closer to end it all. The end of this existence." Sookie looked at him with pain and held his hand for comfort, Godric smiled down at their joined hands. "But then I found you." He smiled and kissed her forehead. "Your light is what I can only describe as my redemption. If I could save a light in the world, then maybe…maybe I could be forgiven for all the acts I've done."

Blood tears fell from Godric's eyes as he continued. "But I have grown to love you, my Dear. As my own child and friend. You are not redemption to me anymore, but something more. You have become the part of my life that I look forward to seeing, that I look forward to take care of. But if you wish to leave, I cannot blame you. I can give you anything you want and need to escape and provide you a safe place to stay. You can live a life of your own without me, if you choose. And I am more than willing to supply everything for you."

Sookie gasped and hugged him immediately. "Why? Why would you say that? Godric, you saved me from something that could've hurt my family and me. Are they safe?"

"Yes. As much as could be."

"I forgive you, Godric. I understand." She cried into his arms and hugged him tighter, whispering over and over again, "I understand."

An intense mass of anxiousness and pain seemed to have faded from his aching chest and replaced with a lightness and warmth. For the first time in a millennium, Godric had felt once again another forgotten human feeling; utter relief.

Two days later…

Sookie walked inside Fangtasia and almost laughed when she saw the interior design in Eric's bar. It was so cliché but again, this was mostly for the people's sake. Kind of like a Disney wonderland…for vampires and vampire lovers.

She saw some dancing poles scattered around the dance floor and a stage with a throne. The bar was empty that night except for one blank void.

Eric.

Sookie felt the whoosh around her before Eric was in front of her. "Well…well…well, Miss Stackhouse." Eric Northman purred as he walked around Sookie, circling her like the predator he was. Sookie felt small and bare when he stared at her like that. Even though she was wearing her yellow knee-length sundress and doll shoes. He stopped in front of her and smirked. She refused to let him intimidate her so she stood her ground and looked straight in his eyes.

Ignore how good-looking he is, ignore his scent, ignore his eyes, ignore—

"So nice of you to drop by." Although his face always had his signature smirk and no other emotion, it was his blue eyes that made her feel uneasy. It was the way she looked at chocolates and Brad Pitt, the way Pam stared at Christian Louboutin and Chanel, it's the way you look at something you really…really want.

Here we go again…

A/N: This chapter was a bit rushed, because I wanted to submit a chapter before I deal with real life. Sigh.

Sorry for the mistakes. And it may take a while for me to update. But please, feed my muse and tell me what you guys think.

Next chapter-Eric and Sookie interrogate the faeries. ;)

Flashbacks will appear in the story in the next chapters.
