Hey, again! Here's yet another one-shot! Now, for those of you who have yet to see the movie "Frozen" - TURN BACK NOW! I don't want to spoil anything for you. For those of you who have seen the movie, go right ahead!
This one-shot is based on the movie, with some MAJOR differences. May was born with the ability to control plants and flowers. She initially embraced her power as a young child and used it so happily and was so carefree about her power that she had total control over it.
However, as she got older, she started getting more aware of how this power could be looked at negatively, so she started using it less. The straw that broke the Camerupt's back was a broken heart - this led her to shut her powers in and the world out.
Now, how does Drew tie into this? Just read and find out! *giggle*
Contains the movie's song "Let It Go", sung by Elsa's voice actress, Idina Menzel (whom I'm sure some of you know as the original Elphaba from Broadway's "Wicked"). This song will have some alterations to it, seeing the fact that this one-shot centers around plants and flowers, not snow and ice.
This one-shot also has a mini song that goes to the tune of "Mama Mia" from the musical of the same name.
There was a fairly empty yard, with nothing but grass, and patches of soil that needed help and fertilization; there was a small pond, as well. Other than that, it was just fairly desolate.
Two very young girls, one with brown hair and blue eyes, the other with blue hair and blue eyes, were playing in the lot.
They each had two Pokémon with them, and they were playing, having fun, everything. They were playing tag, rolling in the grass, having their Pokémon play with their moves and such.
"Hahaha! I love playing in the grass!" The blue-eyed brunette said. "The Pokémon seem to love it, too."
"I certainly think they do!" The blue-eyed, blue-haired girl said.
The blue-eyed brunette had a Wurmple on her head and a Bulbasaur at her side, while the blue-eyed, blue-haired girl had a Piplup in her arms and a Buneary at her side.
Wurmple and Bulbasaur left her owner's side to rest and sunbath in the grass near the tiny pond where the baby Piplup had ran to go swimming in. Buneary, however, was doing a little dancing in the grass.
"This place needs a little more… Color… More life to it." The blue-eyed brunette said.
"I know, but what can we do?" The blue-eyed, blue haired girl said, as she sat in the grass, looking at the soil and the lack of color the grass had.
The blue-eyed, blue-haired girl then got and idea; she turned to her buddy, and smiled happily, while tugging on her sleeve.
"Hey, May, do the magic! Do the magic!" The blue-eyed, blue-haired girl said.
"You got it, Dawn!" May said, to her best friend, Dawn.
May then ran out to the center of the yard, and took a deep breath. She then rubbed her hand together; as May did, tiny, pink flower petals were conjured up and they surrounded May's hands. May then threw her hands into the air, launching the flower petals into the air. She then moved her hands to aim at the ground, where the petals then launched themselves into the soil.
The ground started to glow; out of nowhere, roses, daisies, and flowers of all sorts sprouted and were blooming all over the place. Trees then grew out of the ground, and were mature, adults in a matter of seconds. The grass's color became richer and it became thicker.
"Wow! The flowers are so beautiful!" Dawn said.
"Thanks." May said, and then snapped her fingers towards to the ground. This caused Pokémon berry trees and bushes to sprout and mature out of nowhere.
Pokémon from everywhere then started to flock to the area and the nature started to thrive. Even Pokémon that would not normally be seen in the wild, like wild Treecko and Turtwig, then came around. They were they going to May and Dawn to play with them.
May and Dawn then started laughing and playing with the Pokémon and were having a great time with each other.
"This is great, May! This power of yours can change the world!" Dawn said.
May smiled at that thought, and then she smiled and started to laugh.
~Fast-Forward, Five Years Later~
May and Dawn were in Pokémon Elementary school; both girls were nine years old. May had a little more self-awareness about her powers.
Dawn still had Piplup in her arms while May had a Silcoon, which evolved from her Wurmple, on her head.
"Hey, it's May," A boy said. "Isn't she the rumored "Flower Girl"?"
"Yes, she is," A girl said. "It's freaky, having that power."
May sighed sadly; since her power was growing stronger as time went on, there were times that, when she least expected it, she unintentionally let some of her power lose and flowers sprouted in the strangest of places.
"Dawn, am I really that weird, having this power?" May asked, as she lifted her hand and looked at her palm.
"No, you're not weird at all. It just means you have the potential to be someone amazing." Dawn said.
"Yo, Brendan!" A boy said, and then May turned her head to see Brendan Birch. He had white hair and was wearing a green band around his head. He high-fived his friend and then he went on his way.
May blushed, and smiled. However, around her feet, red and pink roses were sprouting all over her feet. Dawn started to panic and she noticed people were starting to look at them.
"Um, May…" Dawn said, patting her best friend's shoulder. "I know you like Brendan; you're feeling passion and love right now. The roses are red and pink."
May then looked at the roses. She shook her head and then took a deep breath; once May got a hold of herself, the roses wilted before going back into the ground, as if nothing was ever there. May turned to Dawn and said, "Thanks, Dawn. Nice catch."
"Yeah," Dawn said, with an eye roll and a sigh. "It's easy to read you when the colors of the flowers you unintentionally conjure up reflect your emotions; it's also impossible for you to deny it when it's so obvious. Now let's get to class."
Over time, May and Dawn learned that May's "Flower Power" is also equivalent to a mood ring, because when she unintentionally conjured up flowers, mainly roses, they would be a certain color.
Red and dark for love and passion, pink for admiration; these two would almost always come up together. May would often unintentionally cause these to sprout when she was watching Pokémon Contests, something both she and Dawn loved.
Orange was for when May was enthusiastic, which often came up by itself. Yellow was when she was happy, and gold was when May was feeling true friendship and again, these colors would seldom be conjured up alone. This would often happen when May was playing with her Pokémon in the back yard of her house.
Lavender, blue, and dark purple roses often came up together when May saw something at a store that she immediately wanted. Peach roses were when May was being honest and genuine about something; this came in handy when May was being falsely accused.
Finally, black roses were conjured up whenever May was feeling angry, sad, or was grieving. This was often conjured up when May was scared or nervous, as well. These roses almost never came up unless May was really upset.
"May, why don't you put on the bracelet? NOW!" Dawn said.
"Oh, right!" May said, putting on a bracelet that she took out of her pocket.
The bracelet was made of a combination of silver and steel. This was a tool that Dawn created to help May keep her powers under control. Since a lot of metals were impossible for flowers to grow in, a metallic bracelet was perfect to suppress May's power significantly. However, May's powers were not completely hindered when she wore it. When wearing it, May could conjure up only single roses and other plants in very, very small quantities. This was helpful, because if May refused to talk to avoid embarrassment or teasing, she would use her suppressed power to conjure up one rose in a single color deliberately.
"Remember; the more you use your powers, the more likely you'll either be liked or disliked by others." Dawn said.
"Thanks," May said. "But I wonder if Brendan likes me? Even if he doesn't find out about what I'm capable of."
Outside of Dawn, the only ones who knew about May's power was her family. Ever since they were three or four, May and Dawn would often play together outside of school in private, so in those scenarios, May was free to use her powers.
"Either way, we have to keep it under control." Dawn said.
May nodded.
After school, May and Dawn talked about May's crush on Brendan.
"Why not just tell him? Get it off your chest." Dawn suggested.
"Are you sure?" May asked. "How can I just tell him without unintentionally conjuring up flowers?"
"Then conjure up flowers on purpose to drive the message home," Dawn suggested. "Put on a little show! If you put on a song and dance routine and use your power to conjure up red and pink roses on purpose, it just might impress him."
"Okay, then that's what I'll do!" May said, as she then stood up and then started to run off to find Brendan.
However, each time her foot touched the ground, yellow roses sprouted.
"Uh oh… May's power is getting stronger!" Dawn said, growing worried.
Brendan was working on a little research on Bug-type Pokémon.
"Brendan!" May shouted, and Brendan turned around to see May.
"Oh, May, what's up?" Brendan said, standing up.
"I… Have something to show you and tell you. Wanna see?" May asked.
"Um… Okay!" Brendan said, shrugging.
"Great!" May said, happily.
She then took Brendan to a clearing with trees and such and then she stood in the middle and started to sing, while taking off her bracelet.
"I've felt something for you, and I know what it is!" May sang, to the tune of the song "Mama Mia". She then conjured up a red rose and threw it at Brendan. He blinked in surprise as he caught the rose and wondered how May did it.
"Since the first time I looked at you, what I wanted was THIS!" May sang, while blowing a kiss at Brendan, while also blowing pink flower petals in his direction.
Brendan rubbed his eyes in shock and then kept watching.
"Take a look now… See what I can do!" May sang, as she motioned her hand to the ground and conjured up a large Sitrus Berry bush. Pokémon then came around and ate them like crazy.
"I don't know how… But I really wish these feelings I would go… This power is something a few know!" May sang, as she winked at Brendan and then she conjured up more roses in the ground.
"Just one look and I can feel my heart sing! One more look and my emotions ring!" May sang, causing the roses to sprout and blossom faster.
"Mama mia! I like you very much! My my, how my heart throbs for you! Mama mia! How does it go again? My my, just how much I like you!" May sang, before she threw her hands in the air, conjuring up flower petals and then they rained down on her and Brendan.
May then spun with a wink and then she conjured up red and pink roses, before throwing them into the sky.
Brendan lowered his head and started trembling, and then May wondered if he upset him. May then soon heard laughing.
Brendan held his stomach and started laughing hard, and this confused May; she wondered if Brendan liked her performance or not.
"Oh, MAN, I had no idea you could do that!" Brendan said, laughing.
"Really?" May said, feeling better. Yellow roses were then conjured up out of nowhere; she was feeling happy that Brendan supposedly liked her power.
"Yeah! No wonder you hid it! It's so… FREAKY! You're a complete freak with that power! What are you? "Flower Girl", or something?!" Brendan said, as he then continued to laugh.
May, heartbroken, then lowered her head. She clenched her fists, and tears then started getting very angry.
"How could you?!" May shouted, catching Brendan off-guard.
May looked up, her blue eyes leaking water like crazy, and Brendan was feeling guilty about what he had said, and then tried to console May, but saying, "Wait, May, please, I'm sorry."
May only lifted her hand, showing Brendan her bracelet, and then she took it off. Her rage built up and then out of nowhere, black roses came out of the ground.
"Wha… What's going on!? Those flowers you conjured up were pink and red a while ago." Brendan said, looking around.
May only grew angrier at this, and then she said, "Conceited jerk, my emotions are reflected in the flowers. Right now, I'm feeling rage, sadness, and the pain of a broken heart. Emotions YOU inflicted on me!"
Vines then grew around May and then she moved her hand and shot them at Brendan. This tied him down and then Brendan, scared, asked, "What are you going to go to me?!"
"Calm down; I'm only tying you down with the vines so I can complete the process!" May shouted, albeit the rage was evident in her voice. The flowers on the vines were also black.
"What process?!" Brendan asked, afraid.
"Just forcing you to forget I even told you how I felt about you!" May shouted, angrily.
Opening her hand and lowering it to the ground, she then caused a large, yellow flower with red spots on it, to sprout and it pointed its closed petals at Brendan's face. May twisted her hand and then closed her fist. She then snapped her fingers and then the flower opened, spraying yellow pollen in Brendan's face. After Brendan closed his eyes and start to cough, May then snapped her fingers again and then all of the plants she conjured up disappeared.
Brendan fell over and then May, crying, put her bracelet back on and then she ran off. Unknown to her, Dawn had scene the whole thing, and then she chased after May.
"May!" Dawn shouted, as she took off after her best friend.
May stopped and then she hugged Dawn while crying.
May then cried, while bawling out, "I'll never use my power again!"
"Don't say that! We'll find a way to make your power a blessing again!" Dawn said, hugging and comforting her best friend.
~Fast-Foward Seven Years~
May and Dawn were carrying their Pokémon to their Pokémon High School. May had Beautifly on her head while Dawn had Piplup in her arms, still. May was wearing two bracelets.
"May, are you sure you're okay? After that, seven years ago, you haven't been yourself." Dawn asked.
"As long as no one finds out about my power, I'll be fine." May said, as she looked at the two bracelets on her hands.
"Hey, May!" A voice said, and then May turned around to see a boy with green hair and green eyes, wearing the uniform for school.
May then blushed a bit, and then she turned her head away, saying, "Morning, Drew…"
Drew's face fell a little bit, and then he said, "Um… Ready for Pokéblock class?"
"Yes, I am…" May said, as she tried to control her power. Out of her hands, red rosebuds were starting to sprout.
"May…" Dawn muttered. "Hide it."
May took a deep breath and then the flowers were gone.
"See you later…" May said, as she ran off and then as she kept calm, no flowers sprouted in her path.
Dawn exhaled in relief and then she muttered, "Good, she kept it under wraps."
"Dawn, you're May's best friend, right?" Drew asked.
"Um, yes, why?" Dawn asked.
"She's… The cutest girl here, and I really like her. A lot," Drew said, blushing. "But it doesn't seem to me she likes me."
"Oh, May? Oh, um, she's just, er, shy! She has a hard time interacting with boys. Ever since she had her heart shattered to pieces seven years ago…" Dawn said, but she slipped up with the detail of May's heartbreak.
"If her heart was broken… I want to be the one to heal it!" Drew said, smiling, a pink tint on his face.
"Are you sure?" Dawn asked, as she worried that Drew might push May's buttons too much and all flora heck would break loose.
"Of course I'm sure! I really like her!" Drew said, determined. "So, Dawn, what are May's favorite things?"
Dawn sweat dropped and then she thought, 'Oh, no… Let's hope May doesn't crack...'
"She loves chocolate…" Dawn said. "Dark chocolate, filled with peanut butter, or chocolate mousse. She also likes cherry creme chocolates."
"Thanks, Dawn. May, here comes your Prince Charming!" Drew said, pumping a fist.
"Okay…" Dawn said, really nervous about May's reaction.
The next day, May was in for a surprise. She opened up her locker and she noticed a heart-shaped box of chocolates inside. Taking them out, she looked at them curiously, and then she saw that there was a card from Drew.
"What's this about?" May said, as she examined the present.
She picked up the card, and then she read it.
'My sweet May. Every day, I look at your face, and the cuteness you hold makes my heart race. If only you could notice how I feel about you, I promise that I'll hold your heart true - Drew Hayden' The note said.
'Drew?!' May thought, in a minor panic.
As her wrists were shaking a little bit, miniature red and pink rosebuds were sprouting from her hands.
May panicked and then she took a deep breath; the roses immediately disappeared. Relaxing, May took one of the chocolates and ate one; chocolate with peanut butter, which was one of her favorites. May managed to calm down and feel a lot better. However, a yellow rosebud was sprouting by her foot.
May looked down and then she panicked again, before it disappeared.
'Is it just me, or are my bracelets not working?!' May thought, about to freak out.
"May, did you like them?" Drew said, out of nowhere.
May jumped with a light squeal, and then she put the chocolates back in the locker before turning to Drew and saying, "Drew, don't scare me like that."
"Sorry." Drew said.
"Thank you for the chocolates… But…" May said, turning away. She looked at her hand and saw that she unintentionally sprouted a lavender rose in her hand.
"But…?" Drew asked.
"I can't accept them! I can't accept your feelings." May said, about to panic as her flowers started growing again.
She turned around and was about to say, "I'll see you later."
Drew, growing upset, then grabbed May's wrist, but he slipped one of the bracelets off by mistake, and then he said, "Hold it!"
"Drew, give the bracelet back! I mean it!" May said, as she grabbed for her bracelet, but Drew pulled them out of reach.
"Please! I'm tired of being in this situation with you, May! I can't stand the way you're so evasive when you're just so beautiful and smart! You shut everyone out except Dawn!" Drew said, glaring at May.
"I… I…" May said, as she started to step back, her power about to leak out. She also noticed a crowd gathering.
Seeing May's body language, Drew grew even more upset and then he said, "What did I do to make you hate me, May?!"
"Stop it, Drew…" May said, trying to placate him, seeing as people were starting to gather around and were even getting their phones out.
"No! Why do you only let Dawn in?! Why do you shut me, your peers, the world out?! Did that other guy break your heart so badly that you don't want to to socialize with anyone anymore?!" Drew shouted, as he took a step forward. "What are you so gosh darn scared of?!"
May, finally losing her cool, crossed her arms in front of her face and then uncrossed them, as she pointed them to the ground, and then let her magic loose, shouting, "Drew, I said STOP IT!"
However, as she unleashed her anger, not only did black roses show up, but so did something new: poison ivy. Drew stepped back when he saw this; Dawn, seeing the whole thing, put her hand to her face and groaned. Everyone who was watching this started whispering and talking about what they had just saw May do.
"Poison ivy?! That's a new one…" May said, albeit she was more scared than anything.
"I didn't know May could do that!" "Wow! Those flowers are beautiful!" "But she conjured up poison ivy, didn't she?! What a weirdo!"
"May…" Drew said, in shock.
He picked a rose, and looked at them, he said, "These flowers are…"
"Stop!" May interrupted, scared. "Don't say it! I know it's a strange power! I know it's something that sets me apart! I know that it can lead to a more stable environment and is great for Pokémon as well as reviving dead forests…"
"But you're ama…" Drew said.
"Cut it out, Drew!" May said, as the memories of her broken heart courtesy of Brendan flooded back. "DO YOU HAVE ANY IDEA WHY I'VE TRIED TO HIDE IT?!"
May then turned on her heel, and started to run away, leaving black roses with each step in her wake and she was crying.
"May, no!" Drew shouted, as he chased after her.
May ran out of the school and then into the courtyard, but since her negative emotions were building up, bushes of black roses along with some major thorns. She stopped in her tracks as more people were seeing May's power grow out of control with her emotions. Even the power of the bracelet was negated by this.
"What's going on?!" "Is that flower magic?" "What is the school shut-in doing with that kind of power?"
'No… The pressure is on!' May thought, as her hands were glowing green.
"May, stop! Please!" Drew said, as he ran out of the school and tried to chase after May.
"Stay away from me!" May said, crying.
"No! I won't!" May said, as she unleashed a burst of magic.
Again, she conjured up poison ivy and even some poison oak.
"Poison oak, too?" Drew asked.
"Don't touch it! Stay way from me! I… I don't want to be around people any more if teasing and such is going to be the consequence of my secret getting out!" May said, crying.
She then ran off, and as she did, she unknowingly unleashed massive vines on the school, but no injuries were inflicted on the people or Pokémon. Drew saw all of the plants and such that May unintentionally created and then realized that the power she had was the reason she was a shut-in.
"I was afraid this was going to happen… Nice going, Drew!" Dawn said, before scolding Drew.
"You knew?!" Drew asked.
"I've know about this power of hers her whole life. The only ones, well, until now, who knew were me, and her family." Dawn explained.
"Why didn't you tell me about it?!" Drew demanded.
"And risk breaking her heart again? No way! Remember when I told you she had her heart shattered seven years back?" Dawn asked.
"Yes?" Drew asked.
"Her former crush, Brendan Birch, found out about her power because she used it to help her confess, and then he teased her so insensitively that she unleashed her rage in her power, and conjured up a flower that sprayed pollen in his face that forced him to forget. Since that day, she's shut her powers in to avoid a repeat performance." Dawn explained.
"Then I'm going after her!" Drew said.
"What?!" Dawn said.
"This power of hers is just beautiful," Drew said, looking at the flowers that May conjured up by mistake. "It just makes May even more special to me. I'm the one who caused her to crack; I'm going to go make amends."
"Be careful," Dawn said. "May can be quite stubborn."
"I'll get Flygon to help me out; its Fire-type moves should come in handy." Drew said.
"Don't push her, be honest with her, and make sure she's okay." Dawn said.
"Thanks," Drew said. "Can I count on you to keep things under control?"
"You have my oath." Dawn said.
"Then here I go!" Drew said, as he then ran off in the direction where May went, following the black rose trail May left behind.
"Okay, everyone, no need to panic," Dawn said, as everyone then paid attention to her. "Just get out your Pokémon that have advantages against Grass and we'll clear all of this foliage out."
Meanwhile, May was in a very remote part of the forest, her black rose trail still sprouting with each step she took. Seeing as how she was isolated, she felt a little better.
"The petals glow bright in the sun rays' light. Not a blemish to be seen…" May sang, as she took a few more steps to be hidden away from the world. "A kingdom of isolation, and it looks like I'm the queen."
May then looked at the ground and shed a tear as she sang, "The thorns are poking like this pain I feel inside. Couldn't keep it in, Groudon knows I've tried…"
May kept walking and then she sang out loud the mantra that she and Dawn came up with; "Don't let them in, don't let them see. Be the normal girl you have to be! Conceal, don't feel! Don't let them know…"
May then saw she was still wearing the other bracelet, and then she took it off and threw it away into the air above, and then as if it was hit by fire, it disintegrated, all while singing, "Well, now they know!"
May started to let some petals loose from her hands; yellow ones, this time, and she sang, "Let it go! Let it go!"
"Can't hold it back any more!" May sang, as she conjured up a Sitrus berry bush.
She threw more yellow petals up into the air while singing, "Let it go! Let it go! Turn away and slam the door!"
The petals fell over her, and then she smiled, and decided to let her power go. She then used her power to the left, sprouting yellow rose bushes; she then went to the right, sprouting Oran berry trees; bird Pokémon immediately flocked to them, all while May was singing "I don't care what they're going to say!"
"Let the flowers bloom…" May sang, as the flower petals fell over her and she walked along in the forest. She then took off the neck ribbon that was part of the school uniform and threw it away. "Pollen never bothered me, anyway."
May immediately noticed a clearing where there was a large cliff gap and a lot of space. May walked over there, and she sang, "It's funny how some distance makes everything seem small."
She then looked behind her and saw how far away she was from the school and the city.
"And the pain of a broken heart doesn't come close to me at all!" May sang, as she ran close to the clearing.
"It's time to see what I can do! To test the limits and break through!" May sang, as she used her powers and conjured up a spiral staircase that reached the other side of the cliff gap. The staircase had thorns and flowers all over it, and was rather unrefined.
May came closer and sang, "No right, no wrong, no rules for me…"
May stepped onto the first step of the staircase, and then it became a lot nicer-looking; the thorns were gone and the flowers were blooming with that first step. May sang, "I'm free!"
May then ran her hands on the railing as she ran up the stairs, and the staircase became refined and beautiful; no thorns, no loose vines, just beautiful flowers and sturdy branches; she was singing, "Let it go! Let it go! I'm one with the wind and sky~!"
When May got to the top, she let flower petals loose and she sang happily, "Let it go! Let it go! You'll never see me cry!"
May ran a few steps, before stamping her foot to the ground; a large daisy design appeared underneath her, as May sang, "Here I stand! And here I'll stay! Let the flowers bloom…"
May then used her hands and rose up the ground around her and it build the foundation of a building. May then used her hands to design the interior of whatever she was building.
"My power sprouts from right out of the ground! My soul is germinating like weeds about to grow around! And one thought blossoms up like a rosy blast!" May sang, as she even created a chandelier of several kinds of roses while the roof and interior of the entire building, which was made of vines, branches, and tons of other plants. She even decorated with fruit and nut bushes that both Pokémon and people loved.
She threw two Poké Balls up into the air and let out her Beautifly and Venusaur to explore the castle May created.
May took the wrappers to the chocolates she ate from her pocket and then she threw them away while singing, "I'm never going back! The past is in the past!"
May then took the ribbon out of her hair and let it down while smiling and singing, "Let it go! Let it go!"
May began to use her magic to change her clothes into a dress that was created out of rose petals. The dress was yellow, and layered to look like a rose, with no shoulders and green wrist-length sleeves, while singing, "And I'll rise like the break of dawn!"
May then created a cape out of transparent fabric that she created out of some more yellow rose petals. The shoes she created were green leaves that were solid; May started walking through the castle's floor, as she sang, "Let it go! Let it go! That normal girl is gone!"
May proudly sang, as she walked out on the balcony, "Here I stand in the light of day! Let the flowers bloom~!"
May raised her hands up into the air; she held the note for eight beats while the scene panned out to see the castle that she created out of her magic; it included roses, daisies, every kind of harmless flower that one could think of, as well as berry bushes both humans and Pokémon could eat.
May then raised an eyebrow with a smirk as she said, "Pollen never bothered me anyway."
May turned around and she shut the door to the balcony.
Meanwhile, Drew was running through the forest, following the black rose trail; Flygon was flying alongside him.
"Come on, Flygon! We need to keep going!" Drew said, as he was running. 'May, please, let me know where you are! I have to tell you how I feel!'
Drew tripped on a vine and then Flygon stopped as he yelped. Flygon then looked at the vine Drew tripped on and then he blew some fire on it, avoiding Drew's foot, and then Drew got loose and stood back up.
Drew noticed that there were black rose bushes everywhere; however, he saw that some of them were turning yellow. Drew approached the roses and he examined the bushes.
'Black roses… Definitely on the right track… But why are they turning yellow?' Drew thought.
Drew then looked around and saw that several berry trees that normally would not be growing around that particular area.
Drew saw his Flygon eating some of the berries, and he merely sweat dropped.
"Flygon, come on! We have to find May!" Drew shouted, waving his arms up and down angrily.
Flygon stopped eating, then flew to Drew's side.
"We're on the right track, no doubt." Drew said. 'Don't worry, May… I'll make sure you know how I feel and that I'll never let you go through something like that ever again!'
Drew kept running and Flygon was right behind him, burning any plants down that May unintentionally conjured up. Drew also had Masquerain out of its Poké Balls so it could use its water-type moves to put out the fires that Flygon made.
Drew soon found himself at the staircase that May created; knowing that normal stairs would not be made of plants and branches like that, he knew it had to be May's doing. However, Drew decided that rather than stress May out by bringing in his Pokémon, he just put them back in their balls before climbing the staircase.
May, still inside, was sitting on a rose petal bed that she made; the rose petals were pink and yellow; pink because she was admiring the work she did, and yellow because she was happy about her new situation.
May took note that Beautifly and Venusaur were also enjoying the magic; Beautifly was getting pollen out of the flowers on the walls and floors while Venusaur was eating the Sitrus berries that grew through the window.
"Isn't this nice? Just the three of us in here… No one but the Pokémon that come and go to bother us… Finally, I can be at peace with my powers." May said, as she breathed a sigh of relief.
However, she noticed that the guest Pokémon that were in the castle sensed something and then they all fled out the windows.
May stood up and noticed Beautifly and Venusaur noticing that something was definitely off with their paradise.
"Something's wrong…" May said. "Stay here; I'll check it out."
May then walked through the corridor and then she said, "If someone even dares to try and get the Pokémon, my power will chase them off like no other."
Drew had opened the door to the castle and then he walked in; he was shouting, "May! May! Are you in here?! May!"
May came out of the corridor and then she noticed who was there; she said, "Drew? What are you doing here?"
"What do you thin… Whoa!" Drew said, but then when he saw what May was wearing, he was out of breath and he then gulped. "Wow… May, you look stunning."
"Oh, thanks," May said, but she got serious. "But don't change the subject! What are you doing here?"
"What do you think? I came to get you!" Drew said, as he started to ascend the stairs.
"I'm staying right here," May said, crossing her arms. "This is a place where I can be myself and let my powers go without any ill affect; look at how happy the Pokémon are!"
"That's true; this castle you've built is also beautiful… Everything that you've conjured is beautiful," Drew said. "And you're just as beautiful, too. But I can understand why you would hide such a power."
"Oh, really?" May said, cocking an eyebrow.
"Dawn told me the whole story," Drew said, as he took another step forward. "About how Brendan Birch broke your heart by teasing you about your power."
"Of course Dawn told you," May said, with a sigh. "But you're right; I held back my power ever since. As you can see, the color of the flowers that I conjure up, either on purpose or by mistake, vary."
"Mostly black, as I've seen…" Drew said.
"They vary by emotion," May said, as she conjured up a black rose. "Black for anger, grief, or sadness…"
She then used her magic to turn the rose red, then to pink, next was yellow, then orange, followed by lavender, succeeded by blue, and finally, peach; May named each color and emotion, "Red for passion and love, pink for admiration, yellow for happiness, orange for enthusiasm, lavender by enchantment at first sight, blue for mystery, and such. But when I have this power to control flowers and plants, there's always some downsides. I'm too easy to read, emotion-wise, which is a real pain if I'm trying to hide something! It sets me apart to obviously; of course I would want to hide it!"
"But May, Dawn's always been by your side, helping you! And I'm sure your family and Pokémon couldn't care less about your power. I couldn't care less about your power! I love you!" Drew declared.
"I find that very hard to believe, Drew," May said, as she was skeptical, and started getting angry. "Now leave!"
"No! I'm not going anywhere without you, May! When you ran off, your power unintentionally set off giant vines that overtook the school. Dawn is back there trying to take care of things." Drew explained.
Hearing this, May's dress then turned black, but from anger; she then said, "See what I mean?! My power's strength and my capabilities to control is are inclined by emotion! It's best if you leave and never come back! NOW!"
May's castle then started turning darker green with thorns and wilting flowers running rampant; her dress started to blow in the "storm" that her anger was creating. The stairs were then shaking.
Drew stumbled a bit and then he started to run up the stairs to May.
"May, I can help you! We can reverse this together!" Drew said, as he kept trying to get to May.
"Drew, stop it! YOU'RE ONLY MAKING IT WORSE!" May shouted, as she held her head and was about to fall to her knees, as her power was starting to lose control.
Drew then leaped on one foot on one of the steps and then he made it right up to May. He kissed May on the lips while holding her shoulders. The shock caused May's power to "pop", for a little bit; flowers blossomed everywhere, and they were red ones, too.
While Drew held the kiss, everything was then regressing back into the ground, as if it was never there. The castle disappeared into the ground by the vines growing backwards and all the Pokémon were leaving the castle.
Back at the school, everyone was using their Fire Pokémon to get rid of the vines, but at the moment, there was no avail. However, the vines grew backwards into the ground out of nowhere. Dawn then looked in the direction May went, and then all the flowers disappeared. Dawn smiled and said, "Good work, Drew! You did it!"
As the castle was nearly gone, May's dress turned back into her school uniform in its entirety, but her hair stayed the same. She wanted to stop Drew from kissing her, but she could not seem to do it.
May and Drew broke the kiss, while Drew secretly slipped her bracelets back on her wrist. He then told her, "I said that I love you, didn't I?"
"If you didn't really care about me, my power would still be out of control," May said. "Thank you."
"May, I promise you, I won't break your heart like Brendan did." Drew said.
May and Drew then hugged as May felt at peace with her power, finally. She then took Drew's hand, and then they both decided to leave the castle "ruins", but not before putting May's Pokémon back in their Poké Balls.
Dawn was calming everyone down at the school, when she looked behind her, and saw Drew and May, hand in hand, walking back to the school.
"May! Drew! You're back!" Dawn said.
Everyone was clapping when they heard this and were for lack of better word, thrilled that May could do such beautiful magic.
"Hey, May! How about growing some berry bushes for the school Pokémon?" One of the students called.
"You got it!" May said, as she took off and pocketed her bracelets.
May then shot some magic into the ground and many berry bushes and trees grew like weeds and soon, everyone was clapping as May was soon doing tricks and having fun like when she was a little girl.
"May! You're amazing!" Drew said, as he scooped May up into a hug and gave her a big kiss.
May kissed Drew back and her power "popped" again, sprouting more red rose bushes and then Pokémon from miles came around to feed on the fruits.
Drew and May were still hugging and Dawn wiped a tear of joy from her eye and then she told Drew, "Will you keep your word about not breaking May's heart?"
Drew turned to Dawn and nodded and said, "I never go back on it."
May then got out of Drew's hug and then she ran to the center of the field and then she sang out, "Now I can really LET IT GO!"
May unleashed a rain of gold and yellow magic rose petals and then everyone was laughing and cheering for May as she got complete control of her power, a boy who would keep her happy, and no one would think her a freak.
That's a wrap for this one! Now, for those of you who have seen Frozen, I'm sure there are a lot of twists and changes to the plot in this one-shot, the most obvious one being that May has control over flowers and plants, as opposed to Elsa's power over ice and snow.
Now, for the next one… A little help, readers? I know I have "Let Me Be Your Wings" and "Kiss The Girl" on the agenda...
