This one is another Pucca-shot based on "Rootin' Tootin' Ninjas" - Drew is so shy around May that he motivates her to build a wishing well in an attempt to get him to be a little nicer to her. The catch is that she and Dawn end up falling down said well into a Western version of their city, with Western opposites of all of their friends! Including a familiar Sheriff...

In Petalburg City, in the Hoenn Region, there was a restaurant that served food from all walks of life, from Kanto to Kalos and everywhere in between. There were foods like meatballs from the Kanto region, Crossaints from Kalos, and Lilycove Stew from Hoenn.
There was one rule that the patrons had to follow: all Pokémon were required to be out of their Poké Balls so they could eat, too, unless they were too big, such as a Mamoswine.
One particular table held a young boy, in his late teens, possibly sixteen or older. He had green hair, and matching emerald green eyes. He was wearing a black shirt with a purple biker jacket, and his pants were turquoise. The shoes he were wearing were also somewhat high-end. This boy was named Drew, and he was from LaRousse City in Hoenn. Drew was known for being a good Pokémon Coordinator, having won many a Contest and even placed second in the Hoenn Grand Festival.
He was eating some Kanto meatballs, and he was enjoying it quite well; there was also some Lillycove Stew, as well.
"Wow, who knew Kanto had such great food?" Drew said aloud, as he swallowed a meatball.
All of his Pokémon were out of their balls: a Roserade, a Masquerain, an Absol, a Flygon, and a Butterfree.
"You guys enjoying it, too?" Drew asked; all of his Pokémon responded positively.
However, the sound of the door opening turned the boy's attention to the door. In came a girl around his age, with brown hair and blue eyes, wearing a red bandana, and her clothing was mostly red, too. Drew blushed at the sight of her and he turned away.
'Crap… It's May!' He thought, and then turned back to his meal and kept eating.
May was the daughter of Norman from the Petalburg Gym, which was in the city he was currently at. May was also a Coordinator; not at the same level as Drew quite yet, but she was getting closer. What May failed to notice was that Drew secretly had a crush on her.
May noticed Drew, and she sighed sadly, before muttering, "Of all people for me to run into…"
She went to a table opposite of Drew, to make sure she was out of his way; Drew watched as he saw his rival go to another table and not even give him a glance.
Drew sighed sadly as he kept eating; his Pokémon picked up on his emotional state and they just went back to eating, not caring that Drew was in love, but could not do anything.
May ordered Lilycove stew and she was eating it solemnly, as she was not happy to be in the same room as Drew; May and Drew were intense rivals, but May was wishing that Drew would not be such a jerk towards her, especially in contests.
"I'm wishing… (I'm wishing)… For the my main rival… To be nice… (To be nice) Some time (some time)…" May sang, as she ate.
Drew was blushing in response to hearing her voice, and he thought, 'Who am I kidding? She won't take me seriously...'
"I'm hoping… (I'm hoping) and I'm dreaming of… The sweet things (the sweet things) he'll say." May sang, as she kept eating.
Drew, not being able to handle it much more, paid his bill, recalled his Pokémon, and left the building; he felt horrible that he could not communicate his feelings to May.
May sighed sadly as she saw him leave, and she said, "I guess breathing the same air as me makes him want to throw up…"
"Hey, May!" A cheerful voice said, and May looked up to see a girl around her age, possibly younger, with blue hair and blue eyes, a Piplup on her head, with a Buneary, a Pachirisu, a Quilava, and a Togekiss with her. She did have a Mamoswine, but it was too big to fit inside the building.
"Oh, Dawn, hi," May said, sadly, as she beckoned for May to sit down. "How are you doing?"
"I'm fine," Dawn said. "But I guess you're not doing too well, yourself…"
"How do you…?" May asked.
"Drew left the building," Dawn said. "Whenever Drew's around, you get down because he can be a bit of a jerk."
"No kidding," May said in reply, as she drank her water. "He never seems to understand the words 'delicacy', or 'kindness'."
"I relate when it comes to Kenny." Dawn said, as she stroked her Piplup's head.
"I just wish Drew would be a little nicer to me," May said. "Then maybe it wouldn't be so hard to tell him."
"Tell him you've been crushing on him?" Dawn asked.
May nodded in reply; the only person who ever knew of her crush on Drew was Dawn. In fact, Dawn was actually May's best friend, and they were almost always together outside of Contests.
"It's not like a wishing well can just appear out of nowhere." Dawn said.
"Wishing well?" May asked; a lightbulb went off in her head, and she smiled. "Dawn, that's perfect!"
"What's perfect?" Dawn asked.
"We'll build a wishing well and I can make a wish for Drew to be sweeter towards me!" May said, as she smiled at the idea.
"I don't know about that, May…" Dawn said. "From what I've heard around town, wishing wells don't really work, and even if they did, how do you know that it won't turn into something you don't like?"
"Good point…" May said. "But I'm willing to try anything to get Drew to be nicer!"
"Whatever you say…" Dawn said, sheepishly.
"Come on, let's go!" May said; she had paid for the food from the restaurant and dragged Dawn and her Pokémon out of the building.
Using their Pokémon, May and Dawn dug a large hole and built a canopy for the wishing well, complete with a crank handle and everything; May's Glaceon and Dawn's Quilava, they were digging a hole, and they soon came out of the ground, with a deep hole.
"I don't know about this, May." Dawn said, as she put Quilava back in its Poké Ball.
"Even if it doesn't work, we at least get to provide the fun of it to others," May said, as she took out a coin and threw it down the newly-assembled well. "I wish…"
She silently prayed for her wish, but she still knew that it would probably not work.
"No luck, May?" Dawn asked; May nodded. "What did I say?"
"I've heard that wishing wells that are deeper will work better! Glaceon!" May said, as she sent Glaceon back down the well go dig further.
The pile of dirt and soil was getting bigger and bigger, and soon, May and Dawn, worried, came over to the well, and May shouted, "Glaceon, I think that's enough!"
Glaceon did stop digging, but it soon dug into the hole it made; a bright light flew out of the cracks, and since it came up out of nowhere, the girls fell into the well. The girls fell through the hole in the ground.
"Ow… Are you okay, Dawn?" May asked, as she climbed out of the hole… Only to find that she and Dawn had ended up in a completely different town.
"What happened?" Dawn asked, as she also climbed out of the hole, with Piplup in her arms; May had put Glaceon back in its Poké Ball.
The town itself had the same layout and aura as Petalburg City, but the style and architecture was out of a Western film. Even the people walked, talked, dressed, and acted like people from a Western film.
"Where are we?" May asked.
"That's what I'd like to know…" Dawn stated.
The girls looked towards a large building that held a resemblance to the restaurant they were just at; a man who looked like Norman, May's father, came out of the building through the doors, and then he spit in a bucket that was next to it.
"Did we just go back in time or something? This looks like something out of one of those black and white westerns that my dad would watch." May said, as she and Dawn started to look around and saw there were other western-style buildings.
There was a General Store, a Bank, etc., and even a jailhouse where the sheriff would be at.
"I don't think you're too far off." Dawn said, Piplup in her arms.
A girl with a near-identical resemblance to Dawn walked past the girls; she was wearing a blue dress with a parasol in hand, wearing a wide-rimmed hat, and she was carrying a Torchic in her arms. Her dress looked like something out of the Victorian era, and she did not say a word.
"Wow… She looks… Kind of like me," Dawn commented. "But why does she have a Torchic in her arms?"
May merely looked at her friend in confusion, and said, "I don't see a difference between that and you always having Piplup in your arms."
The girls soon saw the Dawn doppleganger go towards the saloon, but the doors flew open to reveal a girl who had a near-exact resemblance to May. She was wearing a flamenco-style dress in red; her hair was a darker shade of brown, and her eyes were blue-green rather than blue, but other than that, she looked a lot like May.
"Wow! That saloon girl looks almost identical to you, May!" Dawn said, and May looked at the girl in the saloon.
"You're right, she does…" May said, as she soon started to see the resemblance. "But if our resemblances are identical, what are the chances we'll have Pokémon opposites, too?"
"I don't know." Dawn said, as she shrugged.
"Either way, maybe we should get out of here," May said. "I think my wishing well plan didn't work."
"You're probably right." Dawn said, as she and May were about to go back down into the hole.
However, they started hearing people talking and they turned into the direction of the conversation, and they were surprised to see a familiar face coming towards the scene.
"Morning, Sheriff!" "Sheriff Thorne!" "Morning, Sheriff Thorne!" "Hey, Sheriff."
The people were talking to "Sheriff Thorne", who turned out to be identical in appearance to Drew. The only difference was that he was wearing a cowboy version of his usual clothes, accompanied by a dark green, ten-gallon hat, a purple neckerchief, and a golden 'Sheriff' badge on his green, leather-vest.
May was looking at Sheriff Thorne in shock, and she said, "Is this a dream…?!"
Sheriff Thorne soon looked over to May and Dawn; his eyes widened a little bit, he clicked his tongue, and then he started making his way over to May and Dawn. His eyes were holding a sultry, infatuated look in his eyes - eyes that were for May.
"This has to be a dream… He's coming this way!" May said, as she was a little nervous to be talking to a Drew doppleganger.
"I can see why you're nervous; Sheriff Thorne looks exactly like Drew," Dawn said. "I think Glaceon must have dug to the exact opposite of the planet. Maybe we all have opposites down here."
Soon, May's opposite came in front of May and Dawn; she smiled, giggled, and said, "Morning, Sheriff!"
She puckered up for a kiss, but Sheriff Thorne just said, "Hey, Mabel."
Sheriff Thorne, his eyes strictly for May, walked past Mabel and went straight up to May; seeing this, Mabel started to get really angry.
"Top of the morning to y'all, ladies," Sheriff Thorne said, tipping his hat before taking it off and bowing to May. "Especially the pretty brunette."
"Um… M-Me?" May asked, pointing to herself.
"Yes," Sheriff Thorne said, as he smiled and winked at her; he took out a red rose and gave it to May. May gasped at its beauty and took it into her hands, gingerly. "For you, pretty lady."
"Oh… Thank you." May said, as she looked at Sheriff Thorne with a kind smile.
Sheriff Thorne smiled in response, feeling a strong attraction to May. Mabel, on the other hand, was really angry about the situation.
"He sure isn't a jerk like Drew, that's for certain; Sheriff Thorne doesn't act like him at all!" Dawn said.
May nodded in agreement, and she said, "Yeah, Drew only gave me red roses for the heck of it, but from Sheriff Thorne… They're genuine, I can tell. This just might be nice…"
Sheriff Thorne was about to take her hand into his own and kiss it, when Mabel shoved Sheriff Thorne out of the way, took May's rose, and crushed it with her feet; Mabel said, "Stay out of the way!"
May was miffed, and she said, "I didn't come here to make trouble or cause a rift! That wasn't very nice of you to just tear up a rose!"
"That was so rude!" Dawn complained; Piplup was squawking in agreement. "Trying to come between May and her… Um… Semi-Drew! Don't even think you can…"
However, May stopped Dawn right there and put an arm in front of Dawn before saying, "I'll try and sort this out on my own."
"Mabel, what did you do that for?!" Sheriff Thorne said. "This is why I hate it when you go all 'gaga' over me; you take it too far!"
'That's nothing like me and Drew…' May thought.
Not listening, Mabel said, "Stay away from my Sheriff, stranger!"
"At least I'm not aggressive with my affections!" May shot back; both girls were glaring and growling at each other.
Sheriff Thorne spread his arms out while standing between May and Mabel before telling them, "Stop this; no fighting between girls. It breaks my heart."
"Stay out of this, Sheriff!" Mabel said, as she shoved Sheriff Thorne away, causing him to fall on his back.
May took out a Poké Ball and she said, "Why not settle this with a Pokémon Battle?"
"Nice to see we're on the same page! I accept!" Mabel said, bringing out a Western-style Poké Ball. "Let's take this, Flareon!"
"Glaceon, let's go!" May shouted; both May and Mabel sent out an Eeveelution to battle with each other.
Back with Drew, he was talking with his best friend, Gary Oak. Gary was a Pokémon Researcher that was currently stationed in Hoenn under orders from Professor Rowan. Gary was in Petalburg City to talk with Norman, the Gym Leader, but in the process, he had run into Drew, as well.
"Still trying to get in good with May, eh?" Gary asked, after seeing Drew in his state.
"Yes." Drew said, sadly, as he sighed.
"Listen, Drew, wallowing around in self-doubt and fear of rejection isn't going to get you anywhere. You need to be a little more assertive with how you feel; not to the degree of Brock, but I'm sure you get the idea." Gary said, giving Drew good advice.
"Easy for you to say, Gary," Drew said. "But keep in mind that all the girls that approach me are harpies that are just a bunch of fans of mine that want my attention; that's not the case with May."
"At least she doesn't have any spectacled creeps around her like that Conway dude does to Dawn." Gary said.
"Yeah, I've seen him around; not the kind of person I'd want around me, either." Drew said, shuddering.
"Back on topic: you need to just tell May how you feel or else some other guy's going to snatch her!" Gary said, patting Drew on the back; he was trying to help encourage Drew to confess to May.
Drew sighed a bit more, but he tripped on something before falling on his face.
"Drew!" Gary said, as he came over to help up his friend. "You okay?"
"I'm fine, but look," Drew said, pointing out all of the built-up soil and muck, plus the well. "Where'd that well come from?"
"I don't know, but… Aaah!" Gary said, as he checked out the well, only to fall down the hole.
"Gary!" Drew shouted, as he jumped in after Gary. "I'm coming, buddy!"
Back with May, Glaceon had just been forced though the saloon doors by Flareon's Double-Edge.
"Glaceon, counter with Frost Breath!" May commanded, as she and Mabel ran into the building.
Glaceon blew snow out of its mouth at Flareon, as well as a wind with blue sparkles; Flareon ducked and dodged the move, and Mabel took the chance and said, "Flareon, use Rock Smash!"
Flareon jumped into the air, raised its paw, which started to glow white, and was about to land on Glaceon; Glaceon dodged out of the way and made its way over to the side of the piano.
"Play something' merry, daggumit!" A man hiding behind the piano said, before spitting; the pianist was about to play, when...
"Glaceon, use Strength! On the piano!" May commanded.
Glaceon started to glow with a white aura and then using its tail, it lifted the piano off of the floor and then threw it.
Sheriff Thorne came into the building to stop the fight; he shouted, "Ladies, stop this!"
However, he looked up to see the piano coming at him, but before he could run, the piano landed on him, literally crushing him to the floor.
"Oh… That's the fourth piano this week…" The pianist sad, indifferently; apparently, this happened a lot.
"Glaceon, stop! Sheriff!" May shouted, as she grew worried about the Sheriff.
Mabel and May ran over to the piano, and used their Pokémon to lift the piano off of the Sheriff; Sheriff Thorne was squished into the floor, flat as a pancake.
"Oh, God…" Mabel said, and both she and May covered their mouths in surprise.
Just then, another boy ran in, this one with black hair, brown eyes, a hat, and a Pikachu on his shoulder. He shouted, "Sheriff Thorne! Sheriff Thorne!"
Sheriff Thorne stood up, his back to the cowboy, and then the boy looking for him said, "The Cacturne Kid and his gang just rode into Petalburg Gulch!"
Sheriff Thorn put a finger in his mouth and blew on it, causing his flattened body to go back to normal. He turned to Mabel, May, and Dawn before saying, "Y'all get our your main Pokémon!"
He then ran out of the saloon, with his deputy saying, "Come on! You're all his deputies this time around!"
Meanwhile, Gary and Drew were still falling down the hole to the other side of the planet.
Back with Sheriff Thorne, he was looking to the outskirts of the town and saw a tall man with purple hair and a matching mustache, riding a Ponyta, driving some Persian, who were quite angry, and he had some Cacturne at his side.
"Hehehe! Get alone little Persian!" He said, in an effeminate voice.
Everyone from in the saloon came out of the building to witness what was going on.
"Hey, May," Dawn said, as she and Piplup were standing next to May and Beautifly. "Doesn't that guy look a lot like Harley?"
"You're right, he does." May said.
"That there hombre is the worst Persian rustler this side of the river!" May and Dawn heard Mabel say.
Sheriff Thorne said, "Roserade, Magical Leaf!"
A Roserade, wearing similar clothes to its trainer, jumped up and shot some leaves with a glowing aura at the Cacturne Kid and then it sliced through the hat.
"Hey, he done just sliced my hat!" The Cacturne Kid shouted, before leaping off his Ponyta and getting out some of his Cacturne.
"Roserade, Dazzling Gleam!" Sheriff Thorne commanded as a Cacturne made way over to Roserade.
Roserade's body started to glow white and then it shot a blast of white light at Cacturne, causing it to go blind for a few seconds before landing on its back.
"Nice!" Sheriff Thorne said, but he was then whacked from behind by another Cacturne.
"Beautifly, Silver Wind!" May commanded, as she saw what was going on.
Beautifly started to blow a silver-laced wind at Cacturne, knocking it back; May and Beautifly looked behind them to see everyone fighting the Cacturne.
Dawn was having Piplup use Drill Peck on one Cacturne, and Mabel had her Venomoth using Gust on the other Cacturne, while some of the others chose to run and hide. Sheriff Thorne's Deputy, Ash, had his Pikachu use Iron Tail on other Cacturne, as well. One Cacturne was knocked away by Roserade's Sludge Bomb.
May and Mabel then ran into each other from the back, but they decided to just let things go.
Two more Cacturne were coming at them, and both girls commanded, "Beautifly/Venomoth, use Bug Buzz!"
Beautifly and Venomoth started to flap their wings, and red, jagged sound waves were released to the two Cacturne, causing them to back off and fall to the ground in pain.
"Nice work, strange." Mabel said, as she and May shook hands.
However, they were tied up by the Cacturne Kid's lasso, and then he said, "Now you all know how's in charge of this town: ME!"
On cue, out of the hole came Drew and Gary, with Drew landing on the Cacturne Kid's back; he saw May tied up, and said, "May! Are you okay?"
"Forget about me!" May shouted, as she turned her head away.
"Umbreon, use Take Down on that man Drew's on! Drew, look out!" Gary shouted; he sent out Umbreon, and Drew leaped off the back of the rustler to get out of the way.
Umbreon slammed its body into the Cacturne Kid's stomach, causing the Cacturne Kid to be knocked away. May and Mabel got out of the lasso, and May commanded to her Beautifly, "Use String Shot and tie up the Cacturne Kid!"
Beautifly shot its string at the Cacturne Kid, and tied him up like a lasso. Beautifly then started to spin rapidly, causing the Cacturne Kid to be spun around like a top, and he was soon so dizzy that he fell to the ground.
The Cacturne Kid looked up to see Gary and Drew, looking at him quite angrily; Drew said, "You're going to pay back really good for even thinking of trying to hurt May!"
"Tell him, Drew!" Gary said, in agreement.
The Cacturne Kid looked behind him to see everyone looking at him with determination, if not aggression in their eyes; May had Beautifly ready to attack, should the need come.
The Cacturne Kid tried to crawl away, but he then looked up to see Sheriff Thorne cracking his knuckles while looking down at him.
"RUN!" The Cacturne Kid shouted, as he and all of his Cacturne ran out of town.
Everyone was cheering and jumping up and down, as they were all celebrating their success at driving out the Cacturne Kid and his gang from the town.
Sheriff Thorne soon said, "Now, where was I…?"
He turned to May, with a flirtatious look in his eyes; dashing over to her, he bowed and took his hat off, saying, "May, my sweet."
May blushed, and smiled as she received this gesture; Drew was looking at his doppleganger and May in complete shock, and his jaw dropped.
Putting his hat back on and giving her a red rose, Sheriff Thorne closed his eyes and said, "And now, for the coup de gras - a kiss."
He puckered up in hopes May would kiss him. May blinked in surprise at this; she looked at Drew, who was looking at the scene with a look that seemed to be indifference. May's face fell, and she looked at Sheriff Thorne, who was still puckering up with his eyes closed.
'Maybe… Maybe Sheriff Thorne would be good to me instead of Drew.' May thought, as she was about to lean in to kiss Sheriff Thorne.
Meanwhile, Mabel turned her face away and silently cried; she knew that whatever made Sheriff Thorne happy would be the best thing.
Drew then remembered what Gary had told him earlier, "You need to just tell May how you feel or else some other guy's going to snatch her!"
Knowing what he had to do, Drew walked over to May and Sheriff Thorne; he shoved Sheriff Thorne aside, pulled May close to him, and kissed her on her lips, causing May to blush.
"What the…?!" Sheriff Thorne said, as he sat up and saw the scene unfold.
"Sorry, Sheriff, but May's mine, now!" Drew said, after breaking the kiss, and glaring at the Sheriff.
The Sheriff looked down in defeat, but Mabel lassoed him up with her Venomoth's string shot and then she ran off on a Ponyta, dragging the Sheriff along.
"You… Feel that way about me?" May asked, as she looked Drew in the eye.
"I always have…" Drew said, blushing, as he rubbed the back of his neck in embarrassment.
"Then, why…?" May asked, as she was totally confused as to why Drew would act so cold to her.
"Shyness can often be mistaken for unfriendliness, May…" Drew said, as he hugged May closer to him.
"Oh, Drew…" May said, as she and Drew were compelled for another kiss, when...
"Sorry to ruin this beautiful moment, but we should get out of here," Dawn said. "We're not exactly in the right place."
"Good idea…" Drew said, as he, May, Dawn, and Gary jumped down the hole to get home.
How did y'all like that one? Sorry for the cowgirl talk, I just thought it fit the moment so well! Hahaha! Anyway, if you want another Pucca-shot, or another "Drew Le Pew", just let me know in your comments. I hope to hear form you soon!
