When Wendy and I arrived at the tree, we stopped. It had been so long since I'd been here it took me a minute to remember where the secret entrances were. It was Wendy who remembered.

"They're right here," Wendy pointed to a cut-out in a tree. "I thought I was the one with memory loss."

"Give me a break. It's been a few years," I smiled walking up to my tree cut-out. "Hmm… I don't know how we are going to fit. They were designed for twelve year olds."

"I'm sure you'll figure it out. You are Peter Pan after all," Wendy smirked.

I rolled my eyes as I squeezed into the trunk of the tree. "It'll be a little tight, but I think we can both make it down." Wendy nodded and stepped inside her cut-out. "You remember how it works?" I asked, but Wendy was already on her way down.

Wendy was able to slide down with ease, but I, being much taller and having gained more muscles, had to inch my way down, getting caught a few times along the way. As I squirmed my way down the last little bit, I heard chatter in the treehouse. The Lost Boys were here. When they saw me they all yelled in delight. I was tackled to the ground as they all came up and started hugging me. Wendy giggled.

"Okay, okay! Get off me!" I struggled to sit up. The boys all rolled off of me and sat on the ground around me. They asked a million questions. "Guys, I'm so happy to see you. I missed you all so much. Tell me, what…" I trailed off as I looked at Wendy. She had a light smile on her face as she looked at each of the boys, mouthing their names. "You know what," I said. "I would love to sit and chat, and I'll tell you all about what's been going on later, but right now I'm kind of on a date. So if you don't mind…"

They all made some smart remarks, and smiled and waved to Wendy as they left. I stood up. "That was…overwhelming," I laughed.

"Oh, they were just happy to see you. They're nothing but a bunch of sweethearts," Wendy defended the boys. "So," Wendy said wandering over to the couch, "what do you have planned for this extravagant date?"

I shrugged. "I told you, I was so sure you were going to say no, that I didn't really plan anything." I sat down next to her feeling embarrassed.

"We'll just have to improvise then," Wendy winked and moved closer to me. She grabbed me by the front of my shirt and pulled me in for a long kiss.

We were on the cramped little couch. She was sitting on top of me. She played with my ears absent-mindedly as we kissed, fascinated by the slight point at the tips of my ears that I still had. When my hands started to roam, she pinned my arms down. She had all the control and I couldn't stand it. I pulled away. Wendy let out a small whimper. "Why'd you stop?" She whispered, looking at me with her big blue eyes. I sat up and she moved off of me. I stood up. I gazed down at her and smiled that smirky smile that I knew she loved. I leaned forward, kissed her lightly, and walked away.

"Peter?" Wendy questioned with concern. "Where are you going?" She followed me into my bedroom.

I was sitting on my bed, my legs folded. "I didn't like that you had all the control," I said.

"If I remember correctly, last time we kissed like that you nearly crushed me because you couldn't control your flight." Wendy smirked. "Forgive me for not wanting to be squished like a grape."

"I won't crush you," I smiled coyly.

"You could have just said something. Why did you need to come in here?"

"It's comfier and roomier," I replied. "I was kind of cramped on that tiny couch."

Wendy rolled her eyes and leaned against the door frame. "Seriously? That is so cheesy, I can't even come up with a clever response."

"Then why don't you just get over here, so we can finish what we started?" I smirked.

Wendy laughed and rolled her eyes as she wandered over.

Wendy ended up asleep, nestled in my arms. We hadn't done anything more than kiss, that would have been too grown up. Making out isn't really the best way to cope. But I guess I can also see where she's coming from. Wendy has almost no memories. I'm familiar, so she's clinging to anything she remotely remembers. I just hope that's not the only reason why.

I got out of bed and began to sharpen my knife. I realized that we couldn't keep running from Hook. He would find us and probably kill us. I had to do the right thing: I had to give Hook what he wanted.

I found a paper and pencil and wrote Wendy a note. I had to leave. I had to make the switch with Hook. If I mad the trade and Wendy was hidden here, Hook's plan wouldn't work. Sure, he'd have my power, but he wouldn't be able to use it. He was a grown up, and that wasn't allowed. I knew that Wendy would try and stop me, which is why I had to leave her here. I would most likely die, but at least I would know that Wendy was safe.

I exited the bedroom and made my secret whistle for Tinker Bell. She raced in a minute later, eager to help me any way she could.

"Tink, I need you to stay here and watch over Wendy," I said completely forgetting that Tinker Bell hated Wendy. Tink's face turned bright red with rage. She started yelling at me in her Pixie language. "Tink calm down. She's sleeping right now. I just need you to make sure that she doesn't try and follow me."

Tinker Bell sighed and nodded begrudgingly. I smiled. "Thanks, Tink. I knew I could count on you," I said with a wink. She gave me a quick peck on the cheek and flew into her quarters that I built for her those many years ago.

I walked back into the bedroom to gather my things. I made sure I had my pixie dust. I grabbed my dagger and quietly kissed Wendy on the forehead. She rustled, but she didn't wake. "I love you, Wendy," I whispered. I turned and rushed out the door. Realizing that I was beginning to grow up.
