A/N: Last chapter. It's short, but I will post an epilogue to follow. Thanks for reading. I wouldn't have had the guts to do this without you all. Thank you to those who review. You boost my confidence, and make me a better writer. Enjoy.
"Peter, it's me, Wendy," the girl replied, her voice shaking. "Queen Clarion, what's happened? Why doesn't he remember me?" Tears began to fall down her face.
"I was afraid of this," the tiny fairy lady said. "Peter is not a Child of Neverland anymore. He has no memory of ever being here."
"What's a never land?" I asked. "And you're a fairy. I didn't know fairies were real."
"Peter, my name is Queen Clarion. You are in Neverland. It is a magical island with lots of creatures. You used to live here," the fairy explained.
"Oh," I said. "I think I dreamed a place like that once. It was fun. I flew around and had adventures, and I never had to grow up."
"That is right, Peter. Only it was not a dream. You lived here. You protected this land. But for now, you need to leave."
"But I just got here," I whined. "I didn't even get to fly."
"One day, you may return, but until then, you have to leave. I cannot explain why. Just trust your heart, and you will find your way back here." The fairy flew off.
"Goodbye!" I called after her.
"Peter," the girl said looking concerned. "I know that you will return. You promised me. You know it in your heart."
"But I don't know you. I wouldn't have promised you anything. But if that means that I get to come back here, then I guess I did promise you. When do I get to come back?"
The girl smiled and touched my cheek. "It won't be for a while. But when the time comes, you'll know."
I nodded. This was all very strange. This girl was a teenager, and she seemed to really like me. Why didn't she like boys her age? Girls are weird. But she was very pretty. "What did you say your name was again?"
"Wendy," she replied.
"Wendy," I echoed. "I'll make sure that when I come back, I find you. You seem like you know a lot about this place and you can show me around."
The girl smiled and began to cry. She only nodded.
"Did I say something wrong?" I asked, concerned.
Wendy shook her head, "No, it's just that a long time ago someone offered me the same thing."
I nodded pretending that I knew what she was talking about. "Well, I guess I have to go. Where am I going exactly?"
"Earth," Wendy said. "You are going to live on Earth for a little while before you return here."
"Oh. Do I have a family there?"
Wendy shrugged. "I think Queen Clarion said she would set up something for you."
"Okay. Well, I guess I'll see you later, Wendy." I replied climbing into the little boat.
"Goodbye, Peter. Don't forget to come back," Wendy reached over and gave me a hug.
"I won't. I can't wait till I get to come back and have adventures." I shoved off, setting sail to Earth.
"Bye, Wendy!" I called waving to her as she got smaller and smaller as I drifted away from shore.
"Bye, Peter. Remember to follow your heart, and I know you will find me again. I love you," she called back.
Girls are very strange indeed.
