A/N: I am sincerely sorry for the wait since last December! I know it is probably a horrible excuse but school has been kicking my tail. I just wanted to get this chapter for everyone who stayed and liked my story so far. Thank you guys so much for your reviews on the first chapter! The next chapter will be longer and hopefully will take less time to work on. Enjoy!

CHAPTER 2

The Amazon Rain Forest

Ecuador, South America

September 19, 1996

5:17 P.M.

"Any luck finding anything Billy?" Tommy asked.

Billy shrugged while reading the scanning apparatus. "Sorry Tommy but whatever this is, it does not want to be located."

Tommy cracked his knuckles. "I know Zordon said this thing would have a cloaking mechanism but I didn't think that it would be this strong."

The six teenagers were in their Power Rangers suits roving around the area where they were transported to. It had taken them an hour to detect a signal and now they were trying to follow the weak trail.

Zordon had told them nothing of what this power was, leaving them in the dark as usual. The teens were frustrated but it seemed that Billy was a ticking time bomb. He felt that they had been kept in the dark for too long. The myriad of secrets that Zordon and Alpha talked about behind their backs was annoying Billy to no end.

"Man I'm sweating buckets in my helmet." Rocky murmured while trailing behind Tommy and Billy.

"Well this is the Amazon Rocky. Of course it's gonna be hot over here, we're near the equator." Aisha replied. Her own suit was clinging to her body like a second skin.

"Well I can gladly say that the trail is getting stronger the more we head west." Billy announced. He could hear the rest of the team's content sighs. The closer they were, the faster they could get home.

"I just wish I knew what exactly this thing is. I hate when Zordon doesn't tell us anything." Billy sighed.

Tommy patted the blue ranger's shoulder. He too felt that Zordon was keeping secrets from them and he wanted to know why. "Maybe it's for the best he doesn't tell us now. He'll eventually tell us."

I highly doubt that. Billy thought as they trudged on.

3o Minutes Later

"Ok, I can't take this anymore!" Aisha snapped, throwing off her helmet. "We've been doin' this for hours, we don't know what the hell we're looking for, and it seems like we've been walking in circles. I swear I've seen that same damn tree three times!"

The blue ranger tilted his head to the side."I think you're right 'Sha. We passed this area." Billy said dumbfounded.

Aisha huffed. "So you mean to tell us we have been walking in circles for hours?" She threw her hands up in the air.

"Lemme look at that." Tommy said, taking the tracking device for Billy. "Weird, it says that it's right here." Tommy looked around the area. "I don't see anything."

"Maybe we're on top of it or something." Rocky shrugged.

"Rocky, you're a genius!" Billy exclaimed. He started furiously pressing buttons on the pad. "I cannot believe I didn't think of that. It makes perfect sense." The pad gave out three loud beeps. "Alright, there is a cavern under us, about fifty feet below us. I'm scanning the area for an entrance right now."

"The sooner we get this done, the sooner I can leave and take a shower." Rocky mumbled.

"About fifteen paces to the east, there should be an opening. Although I'm pretty sure it is hidden from plain sight." Billy said while facing the direction of the opening.

Tommy took his place in front of Billy. "Alright team, when we get to the area, partner up. If one of us falls, the other will be able to notify the rest of us. Move out."

The rangers went on their way.

Power Room

Command Center

Outskirts of Angel Grove

Angel Grove, CA

September 19, 1996

5:20 PM

Alpha-5 was making his daily rounds about the Command Center, checking all the tools and electronics that were important in keeping the Command Center functioning properly. After making sure the new cloaking device that he and Billy created was working, he began to checking in the main room where Zordon's tube was located. The cameras in the room were down, so he took out all his tools and proceeded to get started.

Before beginning, he turned on the microphone connecting to the room just to make sure Zordon was doing alright. While the microphone was powering up, muffled voices were heard in the room. Just thinking that the rangers came back, he didn't bother. Then, he began to intently listen when he discovered the voices were not of the Power Rangers. He was alarmed, but decided to wait before responding. The people in the Command Center didn't sound like they were trying to threaten or hurt Zordon.

"Are you sure Rita and Zedd have not found of it yet?"

"I AM POSITIVE. THEY FOUND TRACES OF IT IN ECUADOR BUT HAVE NOT BEEN ABLE TO LOCATE ANY OF IT."

'WHO IS HE TALKING TO? THAT VOICE…SO FAMILIAR. I CANNOT PLACE IT THOUGH.' Alpha-5 thought to himself. He knew that he has met someone with that voice a very long time ago.

"Good, good. I would hate for anyone to get their hands on this. It almost tore us apart. I can't imagine how horrible all our plans would turn out if someone got a hold of it."

"WE HAVE SPENT A VERY LONG TIME GUARDING THIS AND I CAN ASSURE YOU THAT THIS WILL NOT BE FOUND BY RITA OR ZEDD."

This left the robot very puzzled. Whose voice did it belong to and what were they both hiding?

The Amazon Rain Forest

Ecuador, South America

September 19, 1996

5:55 P.M.

"Anyone find anything yet?" Kimberly asked in her radio. Voices of 'no' came one by one. She sighed deeply and turned it off. This was beginning to become hopeless. She turned to Aisha, who was busy searching the moist earth on her hands and knees. "So what do we do now?"

Aisha shrugged her shoulders. "Keep looking I guess."

"I wish this was easier." The pink rangers cracked her knuckles before searching behind big leaves.

"You don't know how much I'll drink to that girl."

Kimberly laughed. "Believe me; I think I have a pretty good idea of how much." She began to walk further away from where Aisha was searching. "I'll try looking over here." She said behind her shoulder.

"I wonder how you would clean these suits." Aisha mumbled to herself. Her gloves and the area around her knees were covered in dark brown dirt. She stood up and brushed most of it off before hearing a scream. "Kim?!" Her legs had a mind of their own as they raced to the direction of the voice. Her hand clicked on her speaker to the radio. "Guys, I think Kim's hurt or stuck in something and I'm going to her now. Can someone close give u-" A loud shriek interrupted.

"Sha?! Aisha?! Aisha do you read me?!" Rocky turned to face Tommy but saw the white rangers sprinting to the location the girls said they would be. "We're going to where Sha and Kim where, you read?" He radioed to Adam while quickly following.

"We'll meet you there, over." Adam replied while he and Billy ran.

*With Aisha*

'Damn.' was the first thing to pop into the yellow ranger's head after opening her eyes. Her skull throbbed like a jackhammer pounding away as she managed to slowly sit up and lean back on the cavern wall. After her vision became more focused, she used the wall as support to pull herself up.

She tried to communicate with the four other rangers above but all she heard was static. She sighed to herself while resting heavily on the wall, scanning around the bizarrely lit area she was in.

"Kim?" She gently spoke. Even the sound of her voice made the throbbing come back.

A pained groaned that came from her left side answered her back. Aisha unsteadily walked the short distance as quickly as she could. The sight of the lying body became more focused and the color of the suit let her know she found her friend. She settled down next to the pink ranger who was slowly coming out of a dizzy spell.

"Kim, you okay?" Aisha helped her take off her helmet.

Kimberly winced as the ache came to her forehead. "What happened?" She asked while sitting up.

The yellow ranger laid a supporting hand on Kimberly's back, helping her steady herself. "You fell through some secret entrance and so did I. I think we both hit our heads pretty hard. Probably lost a brain cell or two." She said, trying to lighten the mood.

Kimberly smirked. "We really need to get some type of padding in the helmets. Have you tried to contact the guys?" She asked while gradually standing up.

"All I heard was static. I don't think they can reach us either." Aisha shrugged.

The pink ranger rolled her eyes. "Great. What do we do now? Wait for them to help us?"

"I guess so." Aisha sighed.

Kimberly groaned. "Great." She placed her hands on her hips gazed around. "Where are we anyway?"

"Some underground cave." Aisha answered while the two rangers walked deeper into the cavern.

"More like a cave system. Check it out." Kimberly said. She made her way to the nearest wall. On it had arrows pointing to different entrances with symbols on them. "Have you ever seen this language before?"

"Never." Aisha gingerly touched the inscriptions. "This looks very old and kinda-"

"Alien-like?" Kimberly interrupted. The yellow ranger nodded and they both looked back to the wall. "It's like a map. I'm guessing these different entrances in here were ways that people traveled."

"People…or something else." Aisha muttered.

*With the Boys*

The blue and black rangers arrived a few seconds after the white and red rangers. Tommy and Rocky were standing next to a tree with a strange amount of leaves covering the lower-half of it.

"Do you guys know what happened?" Adam questioned. The reply was a 'no' from Tommy and Rocky.

"But we think we know where they fell." Tommy said. He brushed aside the leaves which revealed a hole that was big enough for a person to fall through.

"How deep is it?" Adam asked.

"I don't know, but we are going to find out." Billy started while grabbing a grappling hook and line from his pack. "So who's going down?"

"I'll go." Tommy volunteered. Billy began to help the white ranger get harnessed to go down. "Rocky, see if you can contact Alpha and tell him to get the transport beams ready for you guys. If what we're looking for is down this hole, we need every ranger down there in case something happens."

Rocky nodded. "You got it."

Billy fastened the final notch. "Alright, you're ready to go. I'll be holding on the entire time."

Tommy moved the leaves and branches out of his way before getting his feet positioned at the edge. "Okay, going down."
