The ice palace was decorated in the most beautiful décor Milly had ever seen. There were snowflakes, ice sculptures and a large array of flowers frosted. Little flower lights courtesy of the light talent fairies twinkled across the icy floor and walls. She turned to Caspian a huge smile on her face, her eyes gleaming.
"It looks amazing!" was all she could manage before Lord Milori burst in and the winter fairies scattered.
"The warm fairies are coming across the border now!" He ran around the palace making sure everything was in place.
"Is it me or is he being especially picky right now?" Milly whispered to Caspian as Lord Milori an past her.
"Queen Clarion's coming." Milly instantly understood and reached up to fix the tiara that was placed on her head. Caroline. She'll be here soon! I can't wait to introduce her and Caspian. She was drug out of her thoughts when palace doors opened wide and in flew he warm fairies, a slender female fairy with black curly hair pulled into a pony tail led the way. In her arms was a staff with the top half covered in a cloth. The next arrival was the Queen whom Milly recognized from the aurora. Next she saw Caroline being carried by Tavin and that was all she remembered until Queen Clarion spoke from her place next to Lord Milori. She heard a gentle hey be whispered and turned to see Caroline smiling at her she waved and motioned for her to stand next to her.
"Tonight we celebrate the Autumn Revelry. The scepter tonight has been designed by a Water talent named Crystal. Please come forward." All eyes scanned the palace at the Queen's order. The fairy Milly had seen lead in flew up to the queen and placed the scepter in her hands curtsying as she did so. She flew back to her place among the other fairies and the queen removed the cloth. She placed the scepter in the stand that was built for the occasion and turned back to the mass of pixies. "Also tonight we celebrate the crowning of the new princesses. Will the two girls please come up. Caroline and Milly." The girls turned to each other. They smiled and walked towards the Queen and Lord. Caroline stood on Queen Clarion's right and Milly on Lord Milori's left.
"These girls, who possess the whole of their season, shall be the new rulers of each season respectfully when mine and Clarion's time are up." Lord Milori spoke finally and murmurs spread through the palace.
"They have no wings though. How can they rule? Will they get wings?" A small fairy in a blue dress with blue curls asked her pink eyes curious.
"We know not if they will get wings. Though I know you need not wings to rule a season," he winked and removed his cape. Those who did not know of his broken wing gasped.
"I personally can tell you they will get their wings." All heads turned to the owner of the voice. Zarina. "You all know that gold pixie dust makes us with one talent fly but these girls as I've heard get dizzy each time gold dust is placed on them. Here's a riddle for you all. What dust creates all other dust for the other talents?" As Zarina finished her question the blue moon began to shine through the hole cut into the ceiling. It hit the scepter and the moon stone began to glow. Soon blue pixie dust was flown everywhere. The pixies oohed and ahhed as the dust came down. The twin pixies that stood beside the rulers began to laugh and soon it seemed as though they were glowing. Zarina flew up beside the Queen and Lord. "I'll answer my question Blue Pixie dust." The girls turned around and the mass of pixies saw their backs glow. The light grew stronger and everyone shielded their eyes. When the light grew dim the wingless pixies were no longer wingless they had beautiful blue wings that mirrored the shape and shimmer of Queen Clarion's. The girls giggled and hovered a little in place their new wings thrilling them.
