So, after a long time, welcome back to Silver's Quest!
Yeah, it's pretty easy to say I've been relatively busy the past...year, or so. Mostly with job hunting and jobs that I currently have.
On the bright side, gas is cheaper.
So, on with the show then.
You know, I figured me and Alot might be able to get out via some sort of espionage or incredibly sneaky tactic in order to get out.
Explosions, dodging bullets, and lots and lots of running was not how I pictured things going.
Me, Mira, and Alot were running down a corridor. Mira was ahead of us leading the way, while me and Alot were following her while simultaneously throwing prisoners back in their cells.
What? What did THEY do to deserve freedom?
"C'mon! The storage room is this way! Ninja boy, I'll be needing your kunai pretty quickly! Maybe psychic boy's powers, if I'm feeling a little fun-loving." Mira said.
"Oh, yay, she wants my powers for fun. And here I thought I'd be playing third wheel." I proclaimed.
"She does know that a kunai doesn't make a ninja at all, right? That it's just another kni-" Alot was about to finish his, most likely, long and incredibly relative statement about what makes a ninja and how a kunai is not the sole tool to provide said ninja with his identity, but then we were, rather politely, stopped by Mira's hand.
And by "rather politely," I mean "we slammed into it because there was no warning whatsoever beforehand."
Mira checked inside a door, presumably the storage room. "Alright guys, it's safe. Alot, find your kunai and other equipment so we can scram. Silver, let's see if we can get that inhibitor off you." She declared. Alot went inside himself to look for his stuff. I wasn't worried, I know that he can blend in the shadows and hide pretty well. Seriously, even when he was pulling me running back in Pesill Forest, dead in front of me, it took a bit of focus to actually see him.
Mira grabbed a screwdriver from her pocket and got to work on my inhibitor.
"So how do you know to get these things off? From what I can tell, you don't have any supernatural abilities." I asked.
"Well, believe it or not, the guards eventually thought I did during my fifth arrest here. So they stuck one on me. Two problems occurred from that. One, I had no powers, so it was useless. You should've seen the looks on their faces when I got out. After that, I grabbed my screwdriver here and got to work on taking it off." Mira said.
"But how did you keep your screwdriver here? Didn't they take it from you?"
"Yeah, course they did. I got it back from this here storage room."
"So why didn't you grab Alot's kunai?"
"How'm I supposed to know where it is? Don't worry, the storage room isn't that big, it'll take your friend a solid ten minutes at the most find his weapon. And in that time..."
Mira had popped off the inhibitor. "...I'll have already finished my job."
Man, oh MAN does it feel good to be back. I feel so powerful again, like I could throw the world off its equilibrium using just a small push.
I mean, I doubt I COULD, but man it would be really, really, really COOL.
Alot had already found his weapon and the emerald locator at the time. "Alright guys, let's go. Mira, your plane is where?" He asked.
"Where it is every time I get captured. In the garage, where else could they put it?" She rebutted.
"And you're sure it works? Maybe GUN decided to take out its fuel or just take it apart in general." I stated.
"Nah, that would imply that GUN's actually competent. Though, now that I think about it, they never took the plane until the last couple times I was here. Maybe they just want some sorta trophy for getting me." She said. Eh, fair point. We all made a quick run for the garage, taking out a few guards along the way. Soon enough, we made it to the garage, where Mira managed to open the door after some quick lockpicking tools were either broken or thrown out because of possibly being not generally useful. The door opened, and we managed to find that familiar plane in a matter of seconds. Now we just needed to get the main door open to get the plane, and subsequently us, out of here. Fortunately Mira opened it rather quickly as well. It's just what was behind those doors is what surprised me.
Soon after we opened the doors, I saw a seriously pissed off Shadow come in. "Wait, Shadow?" I don't get it. I don't need rescuing, and he's not looking at me, so what's he doing here?
Behind us, Agent Wolfe appeared, looking rather angry as well. "Agent Shadow, now is NOT the time for your intrusion-"
"Can it, Wolfe, you have a lot to answer for, arresting our only lead to Nega Eggman." Shadow angrily stated. Well, when the irate hedgehog speaks, it's time to hush u-
"I wouldn't be so quick to dismiss, agent. These two criminals were arrested for assisting a highly wanted prisoner who's violated air space and escaped several time-"
"So what you're saying is that someone who flies around in a plane is more dangerous then someone who could put the entire world in jeopardy? Wolfe, you're undeserving of your position!"
"I SHOULD HAVE YOU REPRIMANDED FOR THAT, YOU INSIGNIFICANT-"
"Ahem." A mysterious figure declared. He was dressed in a black coat, with his face silhouetted, completely unseen by those looking, with two dual blades that glow blu-
Sorry, my mind wandered for a bit. The man was dressed in a blue suit complete with a red tie. He had a slender build, with a lean face to boot. His brown hair, while close to needing a haircut, was very professional, as if it were ready for a meeting. Of course, what else would you expect from the President of Spagonia? Everyone, including Wolfe and, surprisingly, Mira, saluted properly.
"Pardon MY intrusion, if you would Wolfe. At ease, everyone. When my friend Shadow here heard about a 'silver hedgehog with telekinetic abilities' was arrested, he came to me directly. And considering how he's managed to save my life recently, well, I figured I'd take a look at this myself. Agent Wolfe." He looked at Wolfe by this point. Wolfe, however, was creating enough sweat to prepare us for a good twenty or thirty droughts. "Last I checked, you aren't able to reprimand anyone, only RECOMMEND reprimanding. And Shadow." The President looked at Shadow, who was currently just in his favorite position: Crossed arms, looking to the side angrily, and thinking there's something more important going on than a conversation with the President. "Remember that it was MY decision to put Wolfe where he is. Both of you, know your place. Now then, why don't we go into Wolfe's office and talk about this?" The President suggested. Neither Shadow nor Wolfe were in any position to argue, so they simply went back inside the prison. The President then looked at our current group. "If you don't mind, please, stay right here while we get this sorted out. Mira, I can trust you not to try to escape?" He asked. Mira simply nodded with a completely serious look in her eyes. "Good, this won't take more than an hour." With that, the President went into the building, leaving us alone, with a means to escape the building, while he went to discuss our fate.
Thankfully, before any of us even thought about leaving, everyone came back in the garage half an hour after the President went in. "Now then, I have to get going gentlemen. I have to get to the next conference real soon, and I can't waste anymore time than I already have. I suggest, Wolfe, that you will make better judgements in the future."
Wolfe simply saluted. "Yes sir." I could see the look in his eyes though. They were filled with hatred and rage. We wouldn't see the last of him, I'm positive of that.
"Right, I'll be on my way then. Mira, try not to invade any more illegal airspace, you're a month away til you get your license anyways." The President exclaimed, a bit exhausted from that sentence alone. Mira, gave a thumbs up while smiling. I wonder how long it'll be before she clearly breaks this rule. I give her five minutes tops. The President proceeded to leave towards his plane. Wolfe went back inside, clearly pissed off about the fact that we were all leaving scott free.
"I'm going to need a ride. You can drop me off in Soleanna, it's the closest place here and I imagine you have fuel reserves there left that you'll need." Shadow said.
Mira pointed towards one of the wings of her plane. "You'll have to hold onto a wing. These two are taking up the remaining seats. That alright with you?" She asked.
"I've dealt with harsher conditions. A perk to being the Ultimate Life-form." Shadow declared. So, we know in about five minutes he'll start brooding about some chick called Maria or whatever, and the somber music will give me a headache. Yay. The plane lifted off the ground and we got rolling towards Soleanna. It took as a bit to get there, about an hour or so, but we landed near Mira's place with relative ease. I got off immediately to talk to Shadow.
"You said that Nega Eggman was a big threat to GUN. Not only that, you also said that I was the biggest lead towards finding him. Explain." I stated.
Shadow looked around for a bit, then looked towards the ground as if contemplating something. "Fine, he's your problem anyways. We're not totally sure what he's up to, but we believe Nega Eggman is creating some device, one that will completely change the world as we know it." He said. "That's all I can tell so far, and that's all you need to know on that subject. The only reason Omega placed a tracker on you is so we could follow your movements and track Nega down easier."
I took a minute to think about what was just relayed towards me. Nega Eggman wants to change this world? Not destroy it or anything, just...change it? That's a bit odd. "Alright then. Nega Eggman changing the world sounds odd, but believable. And if you need to track me to get to him faster, I can deal with that. So long as he comes back with me to his proper time at the end of the day." I said.
"Fine. We have a deal then. Good luck on your journey, Silver." Shadow stated. He then walked off, possibly to continue his mission.
...until Shadow appeared right behind Alot. "Word from the wise, it's not a good idea to steal things from a powerful military body." He then continued walking as if nothing happened. Alot looked a bit shaken. I turned around and looked directly at him.
"Alot...what else did you take?" I asked cautiously.
Alot had that same poker face as earlier. He then reached into his pocket. "Guess I don't have much to hide." He said. With that, he pulled out the object in question.
From the new Prison Island, Alot had grabbed a detached Puritan hand.
