Mabel walked into her room in which she shared with her twin brother, her hands together with a sigh. She slowly made her way to Dipper, who was sitting on his bed reading a book. With an uncharacteristic frown on her face, she spoke up.
"D-Dipper?" She asks, her voice barely a whisper, he looks up from his novel.
"What is it, Mabel?" He asks, smiling until he notices she's doing the opposite. Mabel sits next to him.
"Have you ever thought about what'll happen when we get older?"
Dipper blinks, not expecting this question. "What do you mean?"
Mabel starts to form tears in her eyes. "Well, we're gonna grow up. We'll move away, You'll marry someone, I'll marry someone, we'll be distracted by our families and jobs..." She took an involuntary deep breath and continued. "We'll never have time for each other any more..."
Dipper was taken aback by this, Mabel was being serious for once! He looks at her sincerely. "Don't say that Mabel! I'll always have time for you!" He smiled, trying to get Mabel to do the same, but she still looked doubtful. "Remember when we were little, and we used to go to those skating rinks together? And that place with the big moose statue?" He giggled at the memories, and earning one from Mabel too. "I bet when we grow up, we'll still do those types of things! In fact, I promise, cross my heart, that when we move out, I'll go to that same skating rink and that same museum with you!" He vowed.
"Really? You will?" She beamed, hugging him and in the process squeezing the sparkles out of him.
