"Stop, just stop. I need to get back to work."

"Please, Sharon. Don't run away."

"I wasn't the one who ran away." Sharon looked at Sharlene in horror. Did she just say that? "I'm sorry. I'm just so angry that this all happened."

"No. You're right. I ran away. But I want to make it right with you. I need closure."

"This is not how to get closure Sharlene. We shouldn't be doing this."

"I need to feel you again Shar, even if it's for the last time. I need this." She ran her hands up Sharon's arms, applying that right amount of pressure she knew always made Sharon break her resolve. "Just this last time. Please. It's your call."

Why can't I move? Sharon wondered. What is wrong with me? I should just get out of here, but I CAN'T MOVE!

Sharon was frozen on the spot as Sharlene stared intently at her waiting for her to make her decision. The silence in the room was deafening; the air was heavy and tensions were rising. This was Sharlene's end game. This was it. She wanted Sharon more than anything in the world, but she needed Sharon to want her just the same. Five seconds past. Then ten. Sharon's breathing quickened but her legs were betraying her. A part of her still loved Sharlene. She wanted to make it right after all those years being apart. She felt guilty for the burden Sharlene had to deal with for so long. She missed her, she missed the familiarity that her past lover brought with her. She didn't want to see her suffer anymore.

But she was in love with Andrea. She knew if she lost her, Sharon's heart would break completely. And Rusty loved her…

As Sharon's mind tried sorting things out, Sharlene began her slow seduction, just like old times. She pulled Sharon by her waist and began nipping at her neck, moving slowly down her chest between her breasts. As her hands moved under the waistline of Sharon's pants, Sharon regained her senses.

"Stop! Just stop! I can't do this with you! I don't love you anymore. I love Andrea. I'm in love with Andrea. She is my life and if I lose her-" Sharon sobbed, "I can't lose her. I'm so so sorry things turned out this was Sharlene but I don't ever want to see or hear from you again. Is that clear?"

Is that clear?" Sharon repeated.

"Fine, fine. I give up. I give up. You don't want me, you never did, did you?" Sharlene was now sobbing again.

"I'm done Sharlene. This has to stop. When I walk out that door, that's it." Sharon turned on her heels and basically ran out the room. As she shut the door, she felt all her strength leave her as she leaned against it. She felt sad, and a little broken, but mostly relieved. She finally got Sharlene out of her life for good. She no longer had to worry about her re-appearing and putting strain on her relationship with Andrea. She also knew for sure that Andrea is the only woman she ever wants in her life, from this time on. There's not turning back now. And she know exactly what she needs to do.

Andrea walked into Sharon's apartment-which is now theirs- around noon. She called the station before, but was told Captain Raydor took the day of, which made her a little concerned. She also couldn't reach her by phone, so she decided to take a spin home at lunchtime. As she entered through the front door, she sighed in relief when she say Sharon's shoes at the door and her UGGs nowhere in sight. She went in search for her girlfriend.

"There you are," Andrea said as she entered the bedroom. "Is everything okay? Are you ill?"

"Oh, no I'm fine. I just- needed a little time alone." Andrea moved over to the bed and sat on the edge where Sharon laid. She gently squeezed her at the waist.

"I was worried. I called your phone but no one answered. Then your office said you took the day. What's going on?"

Sharon placed her hand over Andrea's, stilling her movements. She sat up, and cupped the blonde's face with her hands.

"I love you, so much."

Andrea chuckled confused, "I love you so much too?"

Sharon pulled Andrea until their lips connected. She hummed as she opened her mouth to accept Andrea's offered tongue, all the while removing her lover's jacket. It was a sloppy kiss, but exactly what Sharon needed. She then moved on to Andrea's wine-coloured silk blouse when she pulled away.

"Woah, hold on Sailor, but I just have one hour off for lunch and you know what happened the last time."

"I know, I know. Do you have anything particularly important for the rest of the day? I just need a couple hours with you." Sharon's eyed were all glassy green and her hands were slightly shaking. "Please?"

"You're scaring me, Sharon. What's wrong?" Andrea held the older woman's hands still. "What happened this morning? You were fine when you left."

"I had a run-in with Sharlene an-" Andrea violently pulled back.

"Did she hurt you? I swear to God if she di-"

"No! No, she wouldn't hurt me. I went to see her. I checked her story out-"

"And?"

"She was telling the truth."

"Well, Sharon, where does that leave us? Are you? Is that why you're crying? You're breaking up with me?" Andrea tried to pull completely away, but Sharon held on to her waist.

"God no Andrea! When I spoke to her, I almost didn't have the courage to let her go but-" Sharon leaned over Andrea and took out a small back from her night table. "-I realized how much you truly mean to me. I told her I never wanted to see or hear from her again."

"Thank you, for that. I know it must have been hard." Andrea turned her gaze to the pouch in Sharon's hand. "What's that?"

"I saw this a few months ago when I was shopping with Gavin and it reminded me so much of you. I knew one day I had to get it for you so I aid down on it. After this morning battling my mind and Sharlene, I realized, this was the time to ask you."

"Oh my god, "Sharon-"

"-Andrea, just open it." Andrea took the pouch and paused. Her heart stopped. She didn't have to open it, she already knew.

Sharon chuckled nervously as she watched Andrea's stunned face. She didn't even open it yet. "Honey, open it." Andrea returned to her senses and struggled to open the velvet pouch; her hands were trembling so much. When she did, she opened the little box inside, just as she expected it to be there. In the box sat a beautiful simple white gold band, housing a moderate diamond, with little diamonds surrounding it. It had a very architectural theme about it. Sharon was right, it did suit Andrea just fine.

"Andrea," Sharon started, pulling back the blonde's attention to her. "I don't know what I did to deserve you, I really don't know. But you entered my life and, you stole my heart. There aren't words that I can say to let you know how much I need you forever. I hope you want me as much as I want you because, I don't think it is possible for me to live without you anymore. I love you, and I'll be honoured and grateful for the rest of my days, if you would be my wife."

"Oh Sharon, absolutely. I probably need you more than you need me. Of course I'll be your wife." She pulled Sharon in for a tight hug, as if her life depended on it. They stayed like that for a while until Sharon pulled away.

"Wait. I want to see how it looks."

"Okay." Andrea quickly put the ring on. It was even more beautiful than Sharon envisioned it. Sharon raised Andrea's hand to her lips and kissed it. Her tears started flowing again.

"Don't cry Sharon. Please. I hate seeing you cry." Andrea smiled.

"I'm sorry. It's just, I can't tell you how much I love you."

"I love you too, but, i don't mean to dampen things-"

"-What is it?"

How soon do you want us to get married?"

"Well, we'll have to check our schedules. I don't need a big ceremony, do you?"

"No, but I know you'll need a divorce first." Andrea chuckled, Sharon rolled her eyes.

"Of course I know that, Honey. Don't worry, I'll make it happen. It's past time Jack 'hits the road', so to speak. But let's not talk about that. Let's celebrate our new engagement unless,"

"Unless?"

"You really have to go back to work today," Sharon smirked while tugging Andrea by her blouse down on top of her. The blonde laughed and she straddle Sharon's hips.

"I guess not. I think I could spare you those couple hours you wanted after all."

"Hmm."
