Chapter 19: Return to Iris
(Wolf's P.O.V.)
Even though you may be telepathic, I can still hide my thoughts from you my pretty blue fox.
Flashing a devious smile to Krystal as she was reclined in the chair across from me, I couldn't help but chuckle as her cheeks lit up with a familiar red hue. Her eyes flickered up to my own briefly before they were once more looking down at the cards within her hands. We were playing a simple game of cards, and it had already been a few times that I felt that familiar pressure at the edge of my mind; signifying that Krystal was trying to cheat.
Looking over, I saw Tyler was looking out the starboard window and into the space that surrounded us, and at his side was Samantha. While Tyler wasn't paying much attention to anything else, Samantha seemed to be using a tactician device or something like that.
When a ruffle of cards met my ears, I turned back to the game at hand and watched Krystal lay down a pair of tens and a trio of sevens. Her smile was one of full blown confidence, and she gave me a wink as she said, "I don't need my powers to know I won this game."
Frowning a bit as I leaned back in my seat, I let out a little huff as I shook my head. "Wow..."
While I continued to look down at my cards, Krystal's smile only got wider, yet then I chose to strike. Throwing down my hand of a full house as well, I beat her hand only because instead of sevens, my trio of cards happened to be eights. I looked up in time to watch Krystal's smile waver, before it dropped along with her ears, and I let out a chuckle as it was my turn to smile.
Leaning over the table and giving Krystal an expectant look, I asked, "So Krystal, does this mean I am the master of this game yet or not?"
She shook her head a bit as she looked away from the cards on the table between us, before she looked back up at me, and said, "That hand should be impossible to get... even more so when I practically have the same hand..."
"Heh, if I have learned anything when it comes to being a human, nothing is impossible." Leaning over the table until I was certain she would be the only one to hear me, I gave her an even wider smile as I said, "I'm just a regular kid that is going to marry the most beautiful Cerinian in existence, and some might say that would be impossible."
This earned me a light giggle, before Krystal got up and moved to the seat beside me and sat down. Her arms slowly slid over my body before I was wrapped in a tight hug, and as I looked down into her eyes she smiled warmly while she moved her body closer to my own. "When it comes to love, nothing is impossible Wolf... and I believe since you beat me at my own game, you deserve a reward for your feat."
Before I even had a chance to decline needing anything of the sort, I was pulled down into a kiss that I hadn't seen coming. Krystal's eyes were closed as she ran a hand up to the back of my head where she pulled me closer and into a deeper kiss. Yet it was almost immediately that she pulled away with a sly smirk. "At least your head injury is nearly nonexistent now..." I felt her fingers run through my hair before she winked and said, "There will be more of that if you can beat me again. This time the score will go to ten and I will shuffle."
Chuckling a bit as I wrapped an arm around her lower back and pulling her closer, I glanced over to Tyler, whom was still looking outside, before I looked back at Krystal and asked, "Alright, I know what I get if I win, but what if you win?"
A sparkle became visible deep within her eyes as she leaned closer and tilted her head back, before she whispered in my ear, "That is for me to know. Besides, either way, I still win." She finished with a light kiss to my cheek, yet as she moved to get up, the intercom crackled and the pilots voice came through, "Planetary reentry in one minute, please remain seated and strapped in."
...
(Tyler's P.O.V.)
A massive attack force in the form of an interstellar battle group was what I had seen in the space around Cerinia, and I had even witnessed the single piloted fighters equivalent to fighter jets on Earth, yet while most of what I had seen was something only seen in science fiction movies and novels, I knew better than to believe it was over. Years of combat and being in command of platoons had taught me that to let your guard down was to be equivalent to inviting the enemy to shoot you in the back, and it would be unbelievable to think that whoever had attacked Cerinia would be so stupid as to not invade the surface of the planet.
It was then that I felt a hand slide over my own, and I looked down and saw a grey fured hand resting atop my own lightly tanned hand. "Tyler, what is troubling you?"
Looking over, I stopped when I saw the holographic image of Cerinia rotating above her wrist, but I shook that off as I said, "Are there any reports of enemy movement on the ground?"
"Yes."
Her immediate answer caught me entirely by surprise and I looked up into her eyes, before I asked, "Are they contained?"
She smiled immediately afterwards, before pulled her hand away from my own and nodded, yet she went back to messing with the holo-projector thing as she said, "Yes, they have been ever since they made planet fall." She continued to tap away at her device, before she stopped and glanced over at me, "Why were you worried in the first place?"
Chuckling dryly as I looked down at her wrist device as I shook my head, I shrugged before saying, "I guess since I used to lead a platoon, I'm used to getting information right away. Sorry, old habits die hard."
Looking back outside and towards the now very near planet's surface, I did my best to hide the awe I was feeling. I was just a regular commanding officer for a platoon of forty men and women when I had volunteered for a program where I would guard my nation's diplomats. After weeks of doing nothing and instead meeting a few human like canines that could talk and were just as intelligent as I was, I called bullshit that I was going to be a diplomat's guard. Yet I had never thought I would be somewhere how I was now.
Krystal, I know you can hear my thoughts... treat that kid to something special for me when we get back into the city. I never in my wildest dreams thought I would ever see my planet from outer space, let alone another's. This really has been an experience of a lifetime...
I didn't need to look over my shoulder to know Krystal heard me as I soon heard a giggling from the back of the craft, before Krystal spoke quietly, yet not too quiet, "How do you feel about going dancing again Wolf?" The sound of Wolf chuckling reached my hearing, but his reply was too quiet for me to tell exactly what he said...
...
-Surface of Cerinia-
"Earlier today a planet side explosion took place near the capital city, Iris, and the cause is still unknown at this time but it was cause for a city wide evacuation. The evacuation was taken as a precaution in case similar occurrences would occur, yet while none happened; it is safe to theorize that a group of interplanetary pirates was the cause of such occurrence." The yellow avian looked down at a pile of papers in front of him, before he continued, "It was later reported that the Cerinian fleet was engaged in ferocious fighting above the atmosphere with a group of unknown forces, but any and all hostile combatants that have been found on the surface or that were in space have been dealt with swiftly or are in custody."
He nodded to a red colored vixen beside him, before she smiled cheerfully and began speaking in a highly accented voice, "While grim events have taken place, there is also another event that many can look forward to. Diplomatic relationships with a race known as Humanity have been successful, and while the terms are still mostly unknown, there is one tidbit that many of you will find as a surprise. Krystal, daughter to Governor Clark, will be marrying the human diplomat, Wolf." The reporter smiled even wider, showing off shiny white teeth as she did so, before she resumed speaking, "While such a course of action would seem highly distasteful, this diplomat happens to be the one, and only, hero of Cerinia. That's right ladies, the young man seen here," An image of Wolf popped up on the screen, "is the very same one that fought off the rebels over a month ago and saved our head government officials. Yet it was also reported that earlier this week young Wolf had fought an interplanetary criminal known as Garit. If this young man of unconfirmed age was able to pull off such incredible feats as this, then surely nothing can threaten Krystal or her family ever again."
The avian shuffled his papers, before he cleared his throat and began, "Yes, well, if you wish to learn more about the attempted planetary invasion, or of the marriage of two of Cerinia's icons, then stay tuned." While the crowd around the bar was gaping at the television, outside and fifty feet in the air a shuttle was slowly approaching its final destination.
...
(Wolf's P.O.V.)
Looking up at the sky is an interesting thing to do...
Looking up at the sky as a beautiful blue fox is straddling you however is quite different.
...
Can I get up yet?
Krystal giggled as she leaned over me with a mischievous smirk over her muzzle, yet the entire time she remained sitting on my stomach, slowly running her nails over my chest. I felt my heart leap into my chest when her lips connected with my own, yet she pulled away soon afterwards while she brought her hands up and held my shoulders.
It has been twenty minutes Krystal... please?
Her eyes twinkled softly as she shook her head as a soft laugh left her lips. Aren't you enjoying yourself Wolf?
Oh, I love the view, the feel of your body on my own, and even how calm everything is, but for one, this ground has grass. This grass is very much healthy, and I can tell it is from how wet the back of my shirt feels.
Then just take your shirt off...
Chuckling a bit as I carefully grabbed her hands, which had been sliding down my body towards the bottom of my shirt, I saw her smiled widen as she simply interlocked her fingers with my own as she forced my arms over my head. Her body lowered until she was laying against my entirely, her muzzle mere millimeters from my lips, and her eyes locked on my own, and her every feeling and emotion seeping into my mentality.
My mouth was dry instantly as I saw her eyes close halfway, yet the expected kiss didn't come, instead I felt her hands press firmer against my own, before I felt her warm breath washing over my face as she said softly, "I will try to hurry then..."
Before I could even comprehend what she meant, I felt all my senses leave me as our lips connected. She used my surprise to open my mouth with her own, and I regained some semblance of reality in time to feel her tongue begin its exploration of my mouth. I closed my eyes after a moment of surprise, and I felt a flare of heat in my face as I felt her tongue sliding over my own.
"Krystal, Wolf! Where are you guys? It's time to go to Iris!"
I heard Tyler calling for Krystal and I in the distance; probably outside the forest from the sound of it. Yet as soon as I registered who it was, I was dragged back into bliss when Krystal softly bit my lower lip. My thoughts were solely focused on her as her hands slowly left my own, and that was when I felt my hands instantly slide down to her back where I pulled her closer to me. I felt her smile through the kiss, and her hands came down and gingerly pulled my head closer, further deepening our already passionate kiss.
"Wolf, Krystal!"
When Tyler shouted out our names this time, Krystal and I jumped apart and began to blush. I could feel my heart threatening to stampede its way through my chest as Krystal quickly sat up, yet I felt my face burn even worse as she moved in a way where she was fully straddling me.
Her ears perked up in one direction and she turned her head a bit, and as she did so, I struggled to keep myself calm and level headed. Yet I was just as successful as any one person would be with a beautiful fox sitting directly over your lap. Her eyes flashed back to my own after a few moments passed, and she smirked as she spoke softly, "It seems we do indeed have to go back to town." But tonight we will be sleeping in my... our bed.
"What if I can't sleep tonight?" I asked as I felt my heart skip a beat as my imagination was starting to act against me. The smile that was only growing over her muzzle was a little disconcerting.
Then she gave me a wink and said thickly, "Then we will both be up with- and for- each other..."
...
Resting my head alongside Krystal's as our earlier activity was all but forgotten, I gently rubbed her shoulder as we walked down the corridor and to our room. There weren't any guards at intersections this time, so I wasn't worried about anyone else seeing us so close together; despite knowing everyone on the planet knew I was going to be marrying her due to our announcement earlier in the week.
Looking outside as we passed a window as long as a car, I saw a hover tank tittering down the road parallel to the building, and I watched in fascination as it didn't even have to touch the ground. I may have seen one of them before, but last time I was chasing after Krystal through the battle torn streets of Iris. Now however, I was walking with her back to her room so that we could get some rest, and maybe a shower.
I felt a smile cross my lips as I let that thought slip into my mind, and as it did, I felt her walking take a brief stumble, before I heard her giggle softly. She pulled her head away from my own and we both looked over towards each other, and that was when I saw a pleasant sight. Across the top of her muzzle was a cute little blush, and I saw the smile on her lips was one of someone nervous but happy as she leaned up and kissed me softly, before she pulled away and gave me a wink...
A.N.: Hey all, sorry for the delay. I know where I will start the second chapter, but where do you guys feel like I should end it? I know this ending is a little weak, but my inspiration is rather... miniscule when compared to the amount of projects I'm giving myself...
