Author's Note: Sorry for the late chapter update. This month has been pretty hectic for me, what with college now back in session, trying to binge watch Once Upon a Time whenever I get the chance (blame my ex for that), and my new job leaving me exhausted once work is done. Please try to bear with me on this, but at least this chapter isn't too late. Anyways, on with the story.
Mephiles: I AM NOT A BRONY FOR LIKING JUST ONE FREAKING CHARACTER!
Me: ...thank you for randomly shouting that to everyone.
The Godzilla franchise and its monsters belong to Toho Co. Ltd., everything from Frozen belongs to Disney, and Jason/Gigantis, Gzilla, and Mephiles (my version of the character) belong to me.
Vengeance
April 9, 1789
Arendelle, Norway
"Watch out, there are five of them coming at you!" Gzilla said.
"I know," replied Jason, not really all too concerned.
"These ones look and act tougher than the rest, so take them out as quickly."
"I know what I'm doing!" Jason said with annoyance in his voice. "I've done this multiple times now." Although it sounded like he was engaging difficult foes in an epic battle, Jason was actually just sitting on his bed playing Super Smash Bros. Brawl, specifically the 100-Man Brawl, on his Wii U. Gzilla was sitting on his bed, watching the whole thing while providing some un-needed advice. "Plus, I'm a beast with Sonic," Jason replied with a smirk.
Jason was trying to finish unlocking everything in the game before the new Smash Bros game came out, which was set to be released in October for the 3DS. So far, Jason had everything done except getting trophies all the Subspace Emissary boss and enemy, collecting all the stickers, beating Boss Battles with all characters on at least one of each difficulty level, and beating 100-Man Brawl with all characters, which he was about ready to achieve once he finished it with Sonic.
On the TV screen, Jason, or rather Sonic, was only down to ten opponents and had about 170% damage. Just after Jason's comment about his skills with Sonic, one of the Green Alloys on the Battlefield stage knocked him off one of the Battlefield platforms and sent him flying towards the right blast line. Luckily, he didn't go past it, and did a double jump followed by an Up+B move to get back over to the platform. After the Spring Jump, Sonic began doing his Spin Dash attack and shot over to the platform, slamming into the Alloys who were waiting for him to return. As he reached the other side of the arena, a Cracker Launcher dropped from the sky close to him.
"Oh, this is so over," Jason said with a devious grin. He had Sonic pick up the weapon and began blasting the Alloys with fireworks, sending them to their virtual deaths. When all but one opponent was left, the weapon was out of ammo. Spawning from thin air was another Sonic, but this one had a different color scheme than the one Jason was controlling. Jason was being careful about how to attack since he didn't want to make a mistake and get K.O.'d when he was so close to victory.
"I'm gonna laugh if you die," Gzilla said.
"Shut up," Jason said, his attention now fully focused on the game. The enemy Sonic began rushing over to Jason's Sonic just as he began charging up a Side-Left punch, which he released once the other Sonic was close enough. The blow sent the enemy Sonic flying past the blast lines, bringing an end to the 100-Man Brawl. "Oh yeah!" Jason said, feeling extremely pleased about this accomplishment. With that done, the Blue Fighting Alloy trophy was unlocked. Now it was time to finish Boss Battle mode with all characters.
Moments after Jason's victory, Mephiles opened the door and floated into the room carrying a large plate of cookies in his hands. "Food is here." Even though the plate was large enough for fifteen cookies, there were only five on it.
Jason noticed this when he and Gzilla went over to get some. "There's only five here. I told you to get around twenty..." It wasn't hard for him to figure out what happened, but still, he did enjoy when he was right at least one time.
"Yeah...I kinda ate a lot of them when I left the bakery... At least I saved some," Mephiles replied, placing the plate on Jason's bed.
"Gee, thanks," Gzilla said sarcastically as he took a bite out of one of the cookies. "You didn't steal these, did you?"
"Hell no. I'm not stealing food from here again after what I had to go through the last time it happened," Mephiles replied.
"You went all Mission Impossible just to steal some food when all you could have done was just ask for it. You deserved the punishment that Elsa gave you just for the stupidity of your plan alone," Jason told the demon as began eating a cookie.
"What a surprise, look who he's siding with," Mephiles said as he began reaching for one of the cookies.
Jason snatched the cookie away from Mephiles. "No more cookies for you, you've had plenty." To make his point, Jason took a bite out of the recently snatched cookie and began eating the two cookies he had at once.
Mephiles crossed his arms at the sight and muttered under his breath objectively. "I haven't had plenty..."
"You never have plenty when it comes to food," Gzilla said upon hearing him, finishing off the last piece of his cookie.
"That's cause it's true," Mephiles said. "Anyways, while I was getting the cookies, I noticed that everyone I saw was acting really odd. They were all...sad for some reason instead of being annoyingly happy like usual."
Upon hearing that, Jason gave Mephiles a confused look. "Why do you care that the people around here are sad?"
"I never said I cared, just that I noticed it. Their sadness actually made me feel pretty good," Mephiles replied with a chuckle.
"And the assumed care just went out the window..." Gzilla said.
"There was never any care to begin with!" Mephiles said in annoyance. "Stop saying I cared because I didn't!" He floated onto the bed and stretched out on it. "So what did I miss while I was gone?" he asked, placing both hands behind his head.
"Jason cleared the 100-Man Brawl with all characters," Gzilla answered.
"Okay. So what are you going to do now?" When Jason was silent for the moments that came after Mephiles' question, he asked again. "Hello, what the hell are you going to do in the game?"
Upon hearing that, Jason was brought out of his thought-induced trance. "Oh, um...I don't know." He went back to thinking, which resulted in him saying one thought out loud. "Maybe everyone here is sad because the new Duke of Weselton is coming soon."
"What?" Mephiles asked.
"Don't you remember? Elsa said that the new Duke of Weselton is going to be coming to Arendelle to discuss some trading plan thingy sometime soon," Jason explained. About a couple of weeks after the incident involving the giant octopi, Elsa received a letter from the King of Weselton. The King explained that ever since Elsa cut off all ties with Weselton that the kingdom had been falling onto hard times. After losing Arendelle as a trade partner, their other partners slowly began ditching the greedy kingdom as well when they learned about what their Duke tried to do in Arendelle. As a result of this, the old Duke, whose real name was Villard, lost his job and was placed into the lower class as punishment for his actions, but that didn't fix the problem of Weselton's people suffering for a mistake an old fool made many months ago. The letter then went on to explain that the King wanted to see if there was a chance that Arendelle and Weselton could mend ties and become trading partners again. Normally, Elsa wouldn't have done anything about his request, but she didn't feel comfortable about letting his people suffer for something happening that they had no control over. She wrote the King back, agreeing to hear him out, but wasn't making any promises that things would go back to the way they were before. She got a reply letter from him last week which stated that he was very pleased about the possibility of mending things, and that Weselton's new Duke, Otto, would be there to discuss the details sometime soon.
Mephiles shook his head. "Nope, I don't remember anything about that."
"Elsa told everyone in the kingdom about it last week," Gzilla said.
Mephiles laughed. "You actually think I go to her little town meetings? I went to Virginia Beach instead."
Jason sighed in exasperation at the plain disregard Mephiles showed when it came to Mephiles' amount of respect when it came to Elsa; which wasn't very high. "Well, just be sure you don't do anything to mess this up."
"And why would the arrival of some Duke from Weaseltown interest me enough to want to mess it up in any way?" Mephiles replied.
"Because that sounds like something you'd do just to cause trouble for everyone. Anyways, I'm going to see Elsa," Jason said.
"Apparently, it's time for another make out session," Mephiles said teasingly, which caused both him and Gzilla to snicker.
Although Jason said nothing as he walked out of the room, he did make a rather provocative gesture at them involving his middle finger. Figuring that Elsa was probably be in her throne room right now, he went there first. When he peeked into the room, he saw Elsa sitting in her throne with her eyes closed. She had her right arm propped up against the throne's arm and was using her hand to support the weight of her head while the rest of her body was a bit slumped forward. She was half-asleep. Jason felt a bit sorry for her when he saw this. She was probably super exhausted from having to do loads of work to keep her kingdom full of people happy and safe, and it didn't help that she now had to make a rather hard decision as to aid or not aid a kingdom whose previous Duke tried to kill her several months ago. Not wanting to disturb her rest just so he could talk to her, Jason quietly began to leave the room.
Despite being half-asleep, Elsa couldn't shake the feeling that she was being watched. Slowly, she opened her eyes to see who it was, which was a departing Jason. Figuring what he had to tell her was important, she began waking up in order to see what he wanted. If it had been anyone else other than Jason, she probably would have just let them go, thinking that she was asleep. "I'm up, I'm up," she said to him in a sleepy voice that was followed by a yawn as she sat up in her throne, stretched her back and upper body. "I was only resting my eyes." She didn't want to deal with anymore paperwork or problems right now, especially since she wasn't feeling all to good on an emotional level at the moment due to what tomorrow was, but she always had time for him.
Jason stopped walking away when he heard her speak to him. "I can come back later. You look really tired, so you deserve some rest. I'm sorry I disturbed you."
"No, it's alright. I'll always listen to what you have to say no matter what," Elsa replied. She tried to smile, but just couldn't find the emotional strength to. "Is something up? Please tell me Mephiles isn't stealing food or doing something stupid again," she said.
As Jason started walking over to her, he could feel the air getting colder as he got closer. He rubbed his arms slightly to generate heat on them when he stopped in front of her. "He's behaving himself...I think. I do know that he went to the bakery and didn't steal anything, so that's good," Jason said, giving her a little smile. "Anyways, I came to ask you why everyone seems so sad and glum today." He looked at her face and saw that she appeared to be sad as well. "You seem sad as well. Is everything alright around here? I mean, I know that Weselton business thing is really troubling not just for you, but for your people, but I didn't expect everyone to be this sad over it."
Elsa shook her head. "It's not that. It's just...tomorrow is the anniversary of my parents'...passing. Everyone here loved my parents, and it was a sad day when they were declared lost at sea." She looked down, trying to hold back her emotions and keep her powers under control so she didn't accidentally hurt Jason. Even though she was better at controlling them, she still found it hard to do so when she was under great emotional stress.
"I'm so sorry, Elsa," Jason said. He gently placed his hand on her shoulder and looked down at her. "I know what it's like to lose parents, and I've gone through this kind of grief numerous times, and I'm sure Anna has probably done the same. You probably already know that you can turn to your sister for emotional aid about this, but just know that I'll be here to help you too if you need me."
Elsa looked up at him, her heart warming from his kind words. "Thank you very much," she said, managing to pull off a smile. "I'll keep that in mind." She pushed herself up and off the throne before embracing him tightly. Her heart felt even warmer once in his arms. Feeling relaxed, she opened up a little to him about the subject. "I dunno if I ever told you this when we first met, but my parents meant everything to me. They were the ones I relied on the most to help me with my powers when I was younger. When debris from their ship washed onto our shores weeks after they left, everyone feared the worst. I was devastated. I...I didn't know what to do, and I was so scared about having no one to help me, or even understand me." She rested her chin on his shoulder and closed her eyes tightly to prevent too much sadness inside of her from coming out via her ice powers. Her arms wrapped around him tighter, holding him closer to her in order to make her sadness go away. "I know they were leaving to go to my cousin's wedding, but...sometimes I wonder if it was also to get away from me. I must have been such a problem to deal with, what with my powers and neediness and..."
Jason interrupted her by gently nudging her head off his shoulder so he could look her in the eyes. "Don't think like that. I'm sure that wasn't even in their thoughts when they left. I'm sure your parents loved you no matter what, and I'm sure they never thought badly about how they had to take care of you. Even now, they still love you and they're always watching over you."
Some tears formed in Elsa's eyes that were more from happiness than sadness. "You always know what to say, don't you? You're like that Optimus Prime robot," she said with a smile.
"Pfft, me? No way. I'm not that good with speeches. I just...say what's in my heart as best as I can interpret it," Jason said.
Elsa looked into his eyes for a few moments as her heart began racing. Slowly, she leaned in, but before her face was too close to his, she realized what she was about to do and quickly pulled back. Her face turned red with embarrassment. "I'm...um...I don't know," she said rather randomly with a nervous chuckle. Her emotions were going all over the place, making it really hard for her to think clearly. She gave him a quick hug and sat back down in her throne, still embarrassed and blushing. Although she was attracted to him, she didn't want to her distressed emotions to act on something she truthfully wasn't sure she was ready for.
She wasn't the only one who was confused about what was going on at that moment. Jason could have sworn she was going to kiss him, but he didn't know that for sure. All he could do now was just look at her with a blushing face and a slightly puzzled look as he tried figuring what just happened. "Um...it's...okay. So...do you need any more comforting from me?"
Elsa shook her head. "No, no, I'm...I'm fine now. Yes, I'm okay. Well... there is one thing I've always wished for over the years."
"What's that?"
"I wish I could have seen them for one last time, or at least know what happened to them. There's a possibility that they could be alive on an island or something."
"I see..." Jason said, already thinking about what he can do for her regarding that. He knew what happened to Elsa and Anna's parents, but he couldn't tell either of them, but maybe he could do something else that would essentially be the same thing. "I'm gonna go back with my friends, but if you need me, just come to my room." With that, Jason left the throne room.
"Bye..." Elsa said. Once he was gone, she placed her right hand over her face and groaned. "Well, that was just great. I just made a total fool out of myself in front of him." She closed her eyes and tried to rest again. She needed all the sleep she could get for tomorrow.
When the next day came, all the townspeople began making visits up to the shrine dedicated to King Agdar and Queen Idun throughout the day in order to pay their respects to the departed royal couple. The shine was located on a hillside close to the outskirts of the kingdom which overlooked the ocean and Arendelle's castle. Around high noon, Elsa, Anna, Kristoff, Jason, Gzilla, Mephiles, Sven, and Olaf were heading up there. Elsa was wearing a funeral-like variation of her Snow Queen dress; it was ash-black instead of crystal blue. Anna was wearing a black dress, Kristoff was wearing his royal clothes, and Jason was wearing his black Bullet Bill shirt with black shorts (he didn't have any funeral clothing). When the group of friends arrived at the two large stone tombstones, they looked at them in silence. After a few moments, Anna broke the silence. "Does anyone want to say anything?"
Elsa nodded and began making her way to the tombstones. "I'll start." She placed her right hand on her father's tombstone and gave it a gentle, affectionate rub. "Hi dad." She looked over at her mother's tombstone. "Hi mom. I can't believe it's been four years since you left and never came back. Everyone in the kingdom misses both of you dearly, me and Anna especially. I'm doing my best to take care of Arendelle and its people, but I don't think I could ever live up to both of you. Things have certainly changed since you were here last." She briefly turned to Jason and his friends with a small smile when she mentioned things changing before looking back at the tombstones. "We've made new friends and gained a protector who's saved us from giant monsters, or kaiju as he calls them, three times now. I wish you could be here to see how we're doing now, and I hope you're happy wherever you are." When she began tearing up, she wiped the accumulating tears away with her hands. "I miss you so much, mommy and daddy," she whispered softly.
Anna went up to her sister and gave her a tight and loving hug. There were tears in her eyes as well. A few long moments passed before the sisters ended their hug, and Elsa went back to the others while Anna stood in her place. She looked at the tombstones and tried very hard to smile. "Hi daddy. Hi mommy. Like Elsa said, we miss you dearly, and I also wish that you could be here to see us now. It's been exciting here, what with our new friends, my new boyfriend," she turned to Kristoff and gave him a smile, "who I'm sure you both would love, and all these monsters showing up. I know they're scary, but with Jason here to fight them off, I'm not afraid." Anna gave the tombstones great big hugs. "I hope that somehow you're here spiritually." Anna started walking back to her friends and gave Kristoff a hug, nuzzling her face into his chest.
"Do you think I should say something?" Jason asked Elsa while he rubbed her back in a comforting manner.
Elsa nodded. "If you want to. I mean, if you don't want to, I understand. You really don't know my parents, so there probably isn't a lot for you to say."
"I am defending their kingdom, so I think I should say something, if not to reassure their spirits that I'm doing a good job at it." Jason walked up to the tombstones. "Um, hello." He waved at the large stones. "You have no idea who I am, but I am the protector that Elsa and Anna mentioned. I know I don't look like a giant monster fighter, but trust me, I can hold my own against the best of 'em. I may not know you personally, but your daughters have told me and my friends a whole lot about you from their childhood experiences, and I think you sound like great parents and fair rulers. I just want you to know that I'll do everything I can to make sure that not only your kingdom and people are safe, but that nothing ever happens to your daughters. Elsa is a great Queen and a wonderful person, and Anna is an amazing Princess and a fun, exuberant young woman. You would be really proud if you were able to see how they turned out." Jason gently patted King Agdar's tombstone before walking back over to his friends.
"I guess that means it's my turn," Kristoff said with a slight hint of nervousness in his voice. He stroked Anna's hair and gently rubbed his nose against her, cheering her up briefly before he began walking up to the large stones. His nervousness only increased as he stood in front of them. He wasn't that good at speeches, and he really didn't know what to say. It's not like he actually knew the King and Queen as well as the people here who, but if someone like Jason could say something about them despite not knowing them personally or had any experiences with them, then he was sure he could too. He took a deep breath and began speaking. "Hi there. I'm Kristoff, and I'm dating your daughter, Anna. She's a great girl, so you've both done your job as parents. I'm not really that good with speeches, but Anna's told me a lot about you both. Like the others said, I'm positive that you would be proud of how your daughters have turned out." Having nothing else to say, Kristoff slowly started to walk back to the others.
"Would anyone else like to say something?" Elsa asked.
"I'd like to say something," Olaf said before walking up to the tombstones. "Hi there, I'm Olaf and I love warm hugs." He gave each tombstone a hug before continuing. "I was brought to life by your daughter Elsa. I may not know who you are, but I'm sure you must have been great people if you raised Elsa and Anna. They're my bestest friends, and I'm glad to have met them. I hope you're resting peacefully. Don't be afraid to visit us in spirit form if you want to see how your daughters are doing." After giving the tombstones another hug, he walked back to his friends.
Silence followed Olaf's speech as the small group paid silent tribute to the former King and Queen of Arendelle. When the moment of silence ended, they began heading back down to the castle. On the way back, Jason made sure to walk beside Elsa so that he could tell her something important regarding her wish she told him about yesterday. "Hey, Elsa. Remember what you said yesterday in the throne room?" She nodded. "I know how you can do that."
Elsa stopped walking and looked at him with wide, hopeful eyes. "How?"
"I was thinking that Mephiles could go back to when your parents left with my iPad and record what happened."
Upon hearing his name and hearing what Jason was wanting him to do, Mephiles turned to his friend. "Wait, what? Why is it always me who has to do this stuff when it comes to time travel? Can't you just go and do it?"
"I can't go because there's no cell service out at sea or anywhere at that time, so I wouldn't be able to tell you to bring me back. Only you can do this," said Jason.
Elsa looked at the demon in an almost pleading manner. "Please do this. I want to know what happened to them."
Anna looked at Mephiles the way Elsa was. "Come on, Mephiles, do this for me too. This would mean a whole lot to me. To us," Anna said, hugging Elsa.
Mephiles sighed. He couldn't say no to Anna. "Fine, I'll do it."
The royal sisters hugged Mephiles tightly at the same time. "Thank you so much, Mephiles," Anna said.
"I really appreciate this," Elsa chimed in.
"Okay, okay, just stop hugging me!" Mephiles said as he tried to squirm his way out of their arms. The group of friends raced back to the castle and went straight for Jason's room.
Jason pulled his iPad out of the nightstand drawer he kept it in. As he handed it to Mephiles, he explained what he wanted the demon to do. "Alright, now you need to stay on the ship the King and Queen take out to sea, and you'll need to stay out of sight." He pulled Mephiles in close enough so that Elsa and the others couldn't hear him whispering. "Were you awake during the part where the King and Queen's ship was sunk in that storm?"
Mephiles nodded. "Yeah."
"Just go to that point in this universe." After saying that, Jason started speaking louder again. "If there's any time where you can't see what's happening, just say what's going on in the microphone."
"Got it," Mephiles said. He opened one of his portals and was about to go in it when Elsa and Anna stopped him.
"Wait, you need to know where to go, right?" Anna said.
"Yeah, I know where to go." Without a word more, Mephiles disappeared into the portal and it closed behind him. It wasn't even five minutes before another portal opened right where the first one had been only minutes before. Out of it came Mephiles, but he was sopping wet. "I was almost killed by a freaking giant lobster and lightning!"
"What?" Elsa and Anna asked simultaneously, confusion clearly written on both of their faces.
"What do you mean you were attacked by a giant lobster, what happened?" Gzilla asked while Jason rushed off to get a towel for Mephiles.
"A giant lobster attacked the boat and sank it. I was almost smashed by its giant claw!" Mephiles said as Jason returned with a towel. He wiped himself off with it before doing the same to the iPad's screen. Once he and the device were as dry as they were ever going to get, Mephiles began playing the footage he recorded as the others gathered around him to watch.
The video was shaky and the storm that was raging all around made it hard to see what was going on. They could tell Mephiles was floating high in the air because the view of the ship was filmed from high above it. Waves of various sizes, normally large ones, would crash into the ship, but amazingly it didn't overturn. Occasionally, lightning would flash in the dark and cloudy sky, lighting up the area for a few seconds. Seconds later, it was followed by the loud booming sound of thunder. Mephiles' voice could be heard over the crashing waves. "Ugh, this shit is intense. How the hell did I get suckered into doing this? Note to self: never do a favor for anyone ever again," Everyone gave him annoyed looks, but Mephiles simply shrugged them off. "I'm still keeping that note in mind." After showing some form of annoyance at Mephiles' remark, everyone turned their eyes back on the iPad.
Another large wave slammed into the wooden vessel, this time nearly knocking it onto its side. Mephiles' voice was heard once again. "Woah, did you see that? Almost got it that time. Wait, what's that?" The video darted over to an area not too far away from the boat that was foaming and bubbling intensely as if something large was moving towards the surface from the ocean depths at an incredible speed. Suddenly, an enormous red pincer broke through the surface, which was joined by a smaller one and the upper torso of an enormous lobster. "Holy shit!" came Mephiles' voice. An intense flash of light from a lightning bolt that appeared to have struck only a few feet away from iPad's screen caused the video to move and spin around a bit as the sounds of Mephiles dropping a few F-bombs could be heard.
"Were you almost struck by lightning?!" Anna asked Mephiles with concern.
"Oh yeah. At least it wasn't close enough to fry the iPad, though," Mephiles replied.
"Better get out of the air," Mephiles said in the video. The ship began getting closer and closer until the video's perspective was now from the ship. "Now what were those... OH MY GOD!" While Mephiles was speaking, the video screen was turning around to face the sea, which was now being blocked out by the upper half of the enormous lobster, which was now very, very close to the ship. Judging by the video's movement, Mephiles had leaped into the air and started floating away since the ship's deck was getting farther away. The video stopped moving away when both the ship and the giant crustacean were in the frame. The giant lobster was now raising its bigger pincer into the air over the ship. As its shrieking roar could be heard over the sounds of the storm, a sudden flash of lighting brought light to the dark scene for a split second.
"Wait, stop it and rewind the video, and pause it when the lightning flash happens," Jason told Mephiles so that he and everyone could get a better look at the lobster. For some reason, it look rather familiar to Jason. The demon did as told, and when he paused the video, the lobster was now in better lightning. "It kinda looks like...Ebirah," Jason said as he studied the still image.
"Ebirah? What's an Ebirah?" Olaf asked.
"Ebirah is what this giant lobster that lives in our universe is called," Jason explained. "This giant lobster looks very similar to Ebirah in shape, but I'm not sure about color since the lighting isn't very good in this video."
"Okay, we know what to call it now, just go back to playing it," Elsa said rather impatiently before she touched the play button on the screen with her finger.
With the video playing again, everyone witnessed Ebirah slam its pincer down on top of the ship, smashing it into two pieces. Elsa and Anna watched in horror as everyone heard Mephiles say "oh shit!" in the video. For the next few moments, the only sounds heard were that of the rain and storm as Ebirah began scanning the wreckage for survivors. Then, the silence was broken by Mephiles' voice in the video. "Well... pop goes the weasel..."
"Mephiles!" Jason said in an outraged voice while he and most of the others gave him displeased looks.
"What? Like you all weren't thinking that," Mephiles said in defense as he crossed his arms and looked away.
Elsa and Anna didn't say anything; their attention was solely focused on the screen and nothing else. They watched Ebirah stab its smaller pincer into the water and pull it back out, sticking the tip into its mouth. They couldn't tell for sure what the giant crustacean impaled, but they had a feeling that it was their parents. The sight of Ebirah eating her parents whole was enough to make Elsa shove everyone out of her way as she ran out into the hallway. Anna grabbed Kristoff and pressed her face into his chest, sobbing the entire time.
Kristoff began rubbing her back as soothingly as he could and took her over to Jason's bed. When he sat down, he gently pulled Anna onto his lap and held her against his body. "I'm so sorry, Anna." As he cuddled her, Jason and Gzilla left to check on Elsa while the others did their best to comfort Anna.
Jason and Gzilla followed the slight ice and snow-covered trail along the floor to Elsa's room. Upon opening the door, they saw her room was starting to freeze up. Ice was crawling across the floor and walls while snow began falling out of thin air. Elsa was laying face down on her bed, her face buried into one of her pillows, sobbing harder than she ever did in her life. Jason crawled onto her bed and slid his left hand back and forth across her back soothingly.
Realizing it was Jason who was doing that by his delicate touch, Elsa lifted her head up from her pillow and glanced behind just to make sure it really was him. Upon seeing her assumption was correct, she pushed herself up and crawled into his arms, wrapping them around his neck as she pressed her body against his. She pressed her face against the space in between his shoulder and neck, and even though her sobbing continued, it was muffled some by his warm flesh.
Jason wrapped his arms around her and held her. He could feel certain areas of his body that hers was pressing into began to get ice-cold, but he did his best to ignore it. "Elsa, I really don't know what to say, but I just want you to know that I'm here for you. I'll hold you, and listen to you, and do whatever it takes to..."
While he started talking, Elsa looked up at him with tears running down her cheeks. At first she was concerned about his safety due to the high possibility that contact with her body could potentially freeze him solid, but the moment she looked into his caring grey eyes, they started running wild with conflicting emotions. Not only was she feeling extreme sadness and grief from the fact that she just witnessed her parents getting killed and eaten by a giant lobster, but she was also feeling happiness and pleasure from being in Jason's arms. The two different emotions were clashing against one another like warring armies, and it was making her mind descend into a chaotic state where everything was upside, topsy-turvy, and just plain confusing with a hint of madness. The conflicting emotions and their effects were starting to make Elsa hyperventilate as she was slowly becoming overwhelmed by them. She wanted them to stop so badly, so she did the one thing she thought would make everything better. Interrupting Jason mid-sentence, she grabbed his cheeks, pulled his head down to hers, and kissed his lips passionately. At that moment, every emotion disappeared; there wasn't any more grief or loss or sadness, there was just warmth, and love, and bliss. Addicted to the happy feelings, she kissed him again and again, and he kissed her back, but added the love he had for her in each kiss.
As Jason and Elsa kissed, Gzilla slowly began feeling awkward about being there while it happened. Thinking that Jason had this covered, he slowly crept out of the room, closing the door behind him as he left.
Neither of them noticed, as they were too busy with each other. All of a sudden, Elsa realized what she was doing. She was unintentionally using him to make herself feel good. She was doing this out of the need to push away her grief more than anything else. Elsa softly broke their kiss and leaned back to look at him. The happy/puppy-love look on Jason's face made her feel worse for leading him on like this.
"Do you feel better?" Jason asked as he cupped her cheeks in his hands and rubbed then with his thumbs before his forehead against hers softly.
Elsa gave him a weak smile and nodded. The feelings of grief slowly came flowing back inside of her, but now the sadness was replaced by anger. That giant lobster took her parents from her when she needed them the most. It was terrible growing up without anyone to turn to. Not even the feelings generated by Jason pressing his forehead against hers while looking into her eyes as his nose brushing against her own helped make her grief and anger go away. They were slowly combining with each other to create a need for vengeance for her parents and for herself. "Do you think that...thing...is still out there?" she asked, saying the word 'thing' with disgust.
"I don't know. Maybe," Jason replied. "It's hard to tell since that was four years ago, and who knows how long its even been alive."
"I want you to go find and kill it."
Jason was expecting to hear this. It was natural to want to kill the thing that took away something that was precious to you. He felt that way about the Baltans, but in Elsa's case, it wasn't completely right. "Elsa, it didn't kill your parents out of evilness, it was because it's an animal that was looking for food. It's the circle of life. I don't even know if I could find it if I even looked for it." He slid his hands across her back in a figure eight pattern in an attempt to calm her down some. "I know you were close to your parents, but having me kill that creature won't change anything."
"It not only took my parents away from me, but it ate them. It ATE them. I think that my parents deserve retribution of some kind for that," Elsa said, the anger inside her starting to come out. She backed out of his arms and got off the bed. "And don't you think that it would be rather dangerous to have such a creature roaming around these waters? Who knows how many ships and lives its destroyed over the years. Things would be much better if it wasn't alive to cause havoc. Now go out and find that thing." Saying all that she needed to say to him, Elsa began walking out of the room, but told him what she was doing. "I'm going to check on Anna."
Jason didn't get up and follow her, he just laid on her bed, looked up at the ice-covered ceiling, take in everything Elsa just told him, and thought about what he should do. Truthfully, he didn't think Ebirah deserved to die for something such as vengeance for simply trying to stay alive. He knew the loss of Elsa and Anna's parents was tragic, but killing Ebirah wouldn't bring them back. Even though he was against the act, he had to at least look for it since she was the Queen. Not wanting to deal with these troubled emotions for the time being, Jason pushed them away and began remembering Elsa's kisses and the happy feelings they brought. He closed his eyes to picture them more clearly. A smile came over his face as he thought that maybe she was starting to feel the same way about him that he felt about her.
For the next two days, Jason did as she said. From morning until night, he swam through the ocean as Gigantis, searching for Ebirah. Using the scent of his universe's Ebirah, Gigantis swam around, trying to pick up a similar scent. The long hours of searching were very hard on Gigantis, in addition to being boring since it was rather hard looking for something in the ocean, no matter its size, when it could be anywhere in the world. When he would grow exhausted, he occasionally laid down on the seafloor to nap. He really didn't have anything to fear from predators attacking him in his sleep since he was arguably the biggest creature in the ocean, and if something did try to make a meal out of him, it was in for a challenge. Although he didn't find anything the first day, something did find him the second day.
Night was almost upon the open ocean as Gigantis began heading back to Arendelle after his second day of searching. He was about one hundred or so miles away from the kingdom, and with night approaching, he knew it was time to start heading back. His search for Ebirah turned up the same result as yesterday: nothing. Unbeknownst to him, Ebirah was right behind him. For the past several days, Ebirah had been combing its territory for giant octopi, ships, or anything edible to feast on, but wasn't having any luck. With said giant crustacean being the top predator in its territory, its food sources were quickly wiped out after some time. Fortunately, this wasn't the first time it's happened. Various times over the years, Ebirah would eat nearly everything in its territory, and when hopes of finding food were as bleak as they were now, Ebirah simply went off in search of a new hunting ground. While it was looking for new territory, the food supply in its old territory would be given time to repopulate so that when Ebirah dwindled the food suppy in its new area, it could come back to start the cycle over again. It worked in the past, but this time it brought an interesting find to the crustacean. The giant lobster followed Gigantis from a distance, studying him from out of the beast's sight. Gigantis looked like a powerful creature, so Ebirah didn't want to do anything foolish such as randomly attack him, no matter how hungry it was. Believing the saurian was the top predator in his own territory, Ebirah decided to follow him back there so that it could share the environment and food sources temporarily. If there wasn't a way for the two predators to co-exist, then Ebirah would just have to either kill or drive off Gigantis.
The whole time Gigantis swam back to Arendelle, he had no idea that Ebirah was following him. Luckily, the giant crustacean didn't follow him all the way to shore. Something had caught its interest. Noticing the dead, burnt corpse of the Devilfish that Gigantis killed almost a month ago, Ebirah swam down to the seafloor to check it out. Its burnt body had helped slow down the creature's overall decomposition rate a few weeks after it died, but now there wasn't much left of it. Ebirah ate what it could, losing Gigantis in the process. Noticing its meal ticket was gone after its meager meal, Ebirah tried looking around for him, but something in the open ocean caught its eyes. It was a giant octopus, and it wasn't too far from where Ebirah was. As the giant crustacean began silently creeping across the seafloor towards its soon-to-be prey, it was pleased with the area so far.
The next morning, Jason was sleeping peacefully in his bed. Last night was a long night and he didn't get to bed until 2 am, so he was exhausted. Currently, it was around 11 am, and he was about to get a wake-up call. Outside of his room, Elsa quietly paced back and forth in the hall. Ever since she kissed him, she had felt guilty over slightly leading him on the way she did. Every time she saw him or looked at him, she was plagued by guilt. Even though vengeance was the main reason she sent him on this wild goose chase, guilt was another reason, but now it was time for her to tell him the truth about their kiss. With the new Duke of Weselton's ship heading for shore at this moment she had to do this soon or she wouldn't get a chance until after he left. Although she could do this after the Weselton thing was over with, she didn't want to feel guilty about it anymore. After taking a deep breath and a moment of brief silent motivation, Elsa opened the door and slowly walked in.
As she went up to Jason's bed, Elsa saw that he was laying on his side, slightly curled up like a ball. Her gaze fell on a stuffed purple dinosaur resting in his hands that looked beat up, ratty, and old. She never knew he had something like this. Elsa gently lifted the dinosaur out of his hands for a closer look. It was old and not in the best shape, meaning that Jason probably had this when he was just little. There were custom stitches holding certain parts of the stuffed creature together, such as around the neck and its sides. She smiled at it for a few moments, picturing Jason playing with it when he was younger before placing it back in his hands. Her smile turned into a hesitant frown as she thought over what she was about to do. "Jason," she said softly, gently pushing his shoulder. She didn't get a response, so she did it again. "Jason..." she said a bit louder, pushing his shoulder slightly harder. Still nothing. "Jason, wake up. I need to talk to you." She was now pushing his shoulder over and over until she heard him let out a sleepy groan.
"Ugh, what is it?" Jason said in a slightly annoyed and really tired voice. He felt like crap. "This better be good," he said while he sat up, rubbing his tired eyes. When he saw it was Elsa who woke him up, he smiled a little. "Oh, it's just you. Heyyy," he said in a rather adorable sleepy voice only a guy could vocalize. He reached out and stroked her cheek affectionately with his right hand.
Elsa blushed from his touch, but backed away from it. "The new Duke is here, so you need to get up. Also..." She paused and gathered up all of her courage. "I need to talk to you about our kiss."
Before she could say anything, the sound of water exploding followed by the shrieking roar of an enormous creature making its presence known to the world interrupted her. They both rushed over to the window and saw an extremely startling sight out in the fjord: Ebirah advancing toward the Duke's ship!
The very sight of the creature filled Elsa with hate. When Jason noticed that ice was starting to form on the floor and walls of his room, he gently hugged her. "Elsa, just calm down," he said softly as he grabbed her cheeks gently and gave her an eskimo kiss. "I'll handle this, so make sure you do what you can to get everyone to safety if things get out of hand."
Elsa pulled herself away from him and nodded. "I'll do what I can to help you." With that being said, she rushed out of the room. She was going to help him alright, just not in the way he was expecting.
Jason looked back to the window, knowing that this was the only way he could get to the ship in time. He wasn't a big fan of heights, and it was a long way to the water below, but he didn't have a choice. When he opened the window and saw how high up he was, he hesitated big time. "Oh boy..." he said to himself quietly, feeling overwhelmed by his acrophobia at the moment. Swallowing his fear, Jason climbed out of the window and tried to keep himself from falling off the small window ledge. Once he was fully outside and perched upon it like Spider-Man, he closed his eyes tightly and took a leap of faith. As he began free falling to the sea below, he transformed into Gigantis and slowly began growing larger and larger as he got closer and closer to the ocean below. When his feet hit the surf, he was already fifty feet tall. If he wouldn't have done that little trick, he would have surely been badly injured upon his body hitting the water. With a newly gained rush of adrenaline, Gigantis charged through the water towards Ebirah. Once he was a safe enough distance from the castle, he grew to his full height and began prepping himself for battle.
Ebirah swam toward the wooden vessel hungrily. The giant crustacean felt very fortunate that it was in the area at the time the ship came. If it hadn't been for its antennae, Ebirah would have never been woken up when the ship passed over where it was sleeping. Just as it was about ready to slam its pincers on top of the ship, a loud roar stopped it dead in its tracks. Turning to the source of the roar, Ebirah saw Gigantis charging through the water in its direction. Ebirah screeched angrily at the saurian. Just because this creature looked strong didn't mean that Ebirah was going to give up a meal that rightfully belonged to it. The giant octopus that the crustacean managed to kill last night wasn't enough to satisfy its hunger, and it was not about to let Gigantis steal its prey.
Gigantis was able to notice some key differences between this one and his universe's Ebirah now that the creature was in better lighting. For starters, its shell color was a darker shade of red, its underbelly was a darker yellow, and it didn't have Red Bamboo markings on its body or pincers. Its antennae were much shorter, and its feet had three toes instead of ending in points. In terms of size, it was the same as his universe's Ebirah. Gigantis let out a threatening roar, ordering Ebirah to leave the area. Not only did the crustacean fail to comply, it started snapping its pincers at him in an intimidating manner. Gigantis ignored the intimidation routine and started to slowly approach the creature, snarling and letting his dorsal plates flash with nuclear power. That's when the giant lobster slammed its bigger pincer against the water, splashing Gigantis and nearly capsizing the boat with the large waves that were generated. Luckily, the boat stayed afloat, allowing its captain to continue doing everything he could to make the boat get out of the soon-to-be battle zone.
That did it. Gigantis roared loudly, his irritation quite evident. His dorsal plates began flashing again, but this time he released his Atomic Ray on Ebirah. It wasn't as powerful as it normally was, but Gigantis wasn't sure where the Weselton boat was, and he didn't want to do anything to capsize or destroy it, so for now he had to pull his punches. The beam was strong enough to knock Ebirah onto its back and into the water. Gigantis watched the crustacean sink below the water's surface and knew that if he didn't go under voluntarily, Ebirah would most likely drag him under, so the saurian dived down below to find his foe.
Meanwhile, someone else was preparing to battle the sea dweller. Elsa stood behind the castle, preparing to make the very thing that will allow her to avenge her parents without having to rely on Jason. Not too long ago, Jason showed her and the others a movie about people using giant robots to fight large monsters whenever they came out of some ocean breach. She didn't think much of that movie until now. Using her ice powers, Elsa began constructing an enormous shape that began growing all around her, with her at its center.
Back in the ocean's depths, Ebirah slammed into Gigantis' right side, knocking the giant saurian back some. The giant lobster was faster than it looked, and it was using that agility to swim around Gigantis in circles, launching random ramming attacks from multiple directions. After taking a blow to his left, Gigantis was taken by surprise when Ebirah swam straight for him. Gigantis didn't have enough time to react fast enough, so Ebirah plowed its 18,000 metric ton body into Gigantis' chest and pushed him to the seafloor with ease despite his fists pounding against Ebirah's backside. The lobster's exoskeleton was hard enough to soften the blows, so it barely felt anything.
Ebirah slammed Gigantis into the seafloor with great force. As it pushed itself off Gigantis' chest, it swam away to circle back and continue its assault. Gigantis struggled to push himself back up, but he quickly realized that his razor-sharp dorsal plates were stabing into the ground, trapping him on his back. Just as he cursed, Ebirah was coming right for him at great speeds. The lobster slammed its body onto Gigantis' chest, which stabbing his dorsal plates further into the ground, and perched its body on top of him. Raising its smaller pincer, Ebirah aimed the tip of it at Gigantis' throat and brought it down in an attempt to stab him through the throat. Even though Gigantis was in a bad spot to be in, he wasn't helpless. He grabbed the pincer with his right hand and held it away while he used his left hand to punch Ebirah in the face, more specifically its eye region.
The blow made Ebirah screech in alarm. It couldn't afford to lose an eye at the moment, so it needed to react fast. The giant crustacean raised its bigger pincer and blocked Gigantis' next punch before slamming it against Gigantis' skull repeatedly. Gigantis neary lost consciousness after the first couple blows, but before he was struck by a third, Gigantis roared his frustration and pain before grabbing the pincer with his free hand. He was having a hard time keeping both pincers away from his body, so he would have to do something fast before his strength gave out. Gigantis began charging up an Atomic Ray. Ebirah remembered the pain it felt the last time it was struck by Gigantis' beam as he saw a blue glow light up in Gigantis' mouth, and started struggling to get away, but Gigantis wasn't letting go. Seconds later, a much more powerful Atomic Ray struck Ebirah's face and upper body, blasting the lobster off of Gigantis while at the same time yanking the giant saurian's dorsal plates out from the seafloor. Ebirah screeched in pain from both the stronger beam and the fact that it felt like its arms were going to be ripped off.
Gigantis released his grip on Ebirah, but before the lobster could swim away, Gigantis grabbed its tail. With a great deal of strength, Gigantis slammed Ebirah's backside against the seafloor. The sudden impact stunned the giant crustacean momentarily, but it gave Gigantis plenty of time to attack again. Gigantis slammed both of his feet against its underbelly, causing Ebirah immense pain as he could feel his exoskeleton start to crack in a few places from the huge amount of weight pressing down on it. In other words, Ebirah was slowly being crushed.
Back in the harbor, everyone watched Duke Otto's ship come in. Fortunately, everyone on board was safe and the ship hadn't been damaged. As the ship docked, Otto and his crew departed the wooden vessel. Otto was about 5 foot 8 with a small beard and a semi-curly mustache. He looked about fifty or so years old, but he wasn't some feeble old man. He wore a dignitary uniform, one quite similar to the one that the old Duke wore, but it was a larger size. On his uniform were medals, a red sash, and epaulets, and he wore a hip-mounted scabbard. Since the King of Weselton wanted to show good faith, he didn't send any personal guards with Otto, but the Duke wanted to make sure he was prepared for anything that could happen. As he and his small crew scanned the crowd for Queen Elsa, they found Princess Anna, her boyfriend Kristoff and his reindeer Sven, servants Kai and Gerda, and what appeared to be a living snowman, a giant reptilian creature, and a small floating humanoid-hedgehog creature. While most of his crew didn't follow him as Otto approached Anna and the others, one of them did. He looked at the man beside him. "What are those things?"
"Some of the Queen's friends, sir," the man said.
Otto kept an eye of them as he walked over, his sword hand held over his scabbard just in case the creatures turned out to be hostile. Once he approached Anna, he introduced himself to her. "Hello, I am the new Duke of Weselton, and you must be Princess Anna, I presume," Otto said as he did a slight bow.
Anna nodded happily. "Yup, that's me." She began introducing her friends to Otto, but stopped upon seeing one of Otto's crew members walk over to his side. It was someone she knew very well, and it wasn't someone she wanted to see. "You!" she said upon seeing the old Duke of Weselton.
Apparently, this was what the King of Weselton meant when he said he put Villard in the working class. The old Duke of Weselton was now forced to sail around with the new one as part of the crew, but at least he was somewhat in charge so that sort of made things better. When he saw the look of anger on Anna's face, he tugged at his collar nervously and gave her a slight wave. "Um..hello Princess Anna."
Anna ignored his greeting and looked at Otto. "What is he doing here? Why would your King send the very person who caused our kingdoms' partnership to fall apart in the first place along with the person who's trying to mend it?"
"The King thought it would be helpful if Villard here was sent to apologize to the Queen for his actions," Otto replied. "I don't see how it would affect her judgment of me, seeing as how I'm the one in control of the deal being made, not him." Otto looked around for the Queen, but he couldn't find her anywhere. "Speaking of Queen Elsa, where is she? I would have thought she'd be here to greet me upon my arrival."
"Probably out freezing stuff with her icy witchcraft," Villard muttered under his breath as he looked off to the side.
Despite trying to keep it quiet, Anna heard his rude comment and glared at Villard. "My sister is very responsible, and if she's not here then she must be doing something very important."
At that moment, loud footfalls were heard coming from behind the castle. Everyone turned and gasped in amazement as an enormous humanoid ice creature began wadding into the fjord. It was about 150 feet tall and resembled one of the robots from the movie Pacific Rim. In its right hand was an enormous sword that was one-third its size with a blade made of pure ice. Its head had the look of a medieval knight's helmet and what looked like armor made of ice covered its body. As it began heading deeper and deeper into the fjord, Villard looked from the ice creature to Anna. "You were saying?"
Gigantis pushed off of Ebirah's body with his feet, pressing the creature into the seafloor a bit more. Figuring that Ebirah had had enough, Gigantis backed away from it to see what it did. As soon as it felt Gigantis' weight was no longer on it, the crustacean flipped itself over onto its legs and looked around until it saw that Gigantis was watching it. While it kept an eye on Gigantis, Ebirah began forming a plan in its small mind. It couldn't go without food, and this creature was the best it was going to get in terms of that since their battle most likely scared away every other suitable food source in the area. It needed to do everything it could to kill the dinosaur if it wanted to survive. With lightning-fast speed, Ebirah pushed itself off the seafloor and charged headfirst at Gigantis. Unfortunately, Gigantis was prepared for something like that. With a quick, but still powerful burst of his Atomic Ray, he sent Ebirah crashing back down onto the seafloor.
Tired and hurt, Ebirah began rethinking its plan as it laid out on the seafloor. After taking another blast from his Atomic Ray, it knew it had no hope of killing Gigantis, but if it continued to try Gigantis would most likely kill it. With a final screech, darted past Gigantis and started fleeing towards what it thought was the open ocean, but was actually further into Arendelle's fjord. Gigantis couldn't allow Ebirah to go that way, so he began swimming after it as fast as he could. Fortunately, Ebirah wasn't going to get very far.
As Ebirah fled, it saw that it was approaching something rather large. Thinking it might be an easier meal despite not knowing what it was, the giant crustacean began swimming towards it with incredible speed. The need for food pushed its ambushing methods away in place of head-on attack. That would turn out to be a mistake.
From inside the giant ice creature's chest, Elsa watched as Ebirah came closer and closer. Unlike the rest of the warrior's body, the center of its chest was see-through, allowing Elsa to see what was going on around her. She was able to control her ice warrior since she was connected to it. That meant that she could feel its pain, so she would have to be careful regarding what she had it do. The giant ice warrior gripped its sword tensely as its opponent got closer and closer. It could feel the anger that Elsa had for the lobster monster and tried to channel that rage in its attack. Once Ebirah was close enough, Elsa had the warrior swing its sword at Ebirah, but since it was submerged underwater, the sword's swing was slowed down greatly. Before the blade could even make contact with Ebirah, the giant lobster slammed into the ice warrior, knocking it onto its back and the sword out of its hands. The crustacean let out a confused shriek. Whatever this thing was, it was durable and really heavy because it felt like running into a rock wall. Noticing that the strange creature was starting to get back up, Ebirah slammed its body on top of it and pinned it down using its weight. Contact with the warrior's ice body made the lobster flinch slightly due its cold temperature, but as its body began adjusting to the cold feelings, it used its toes to grip onto the ice warrior's body. Ebirah's antennae picked up a human scent inside the thing's chest, so it raised its big pincer and began slamming it against the center area where Elsa was in order to get at her.
When her ice warrior was rammed by Ebirah and fell on its back, Elsa was sent tumbling around until she fell on her back. Now she was being tossed about again from each blow Ebirah landed on her warrior's chest. Scrambling to her feet before it could break anything, Elsa issued a mental command to her warrior in addition to thrusting her fist into the air a couple of times. This caused the giant ice warrior to punch Ebirah in the face as hard as it could. The blow not only knocked the lobster off, but it was actually powerful enough to break off the pointed crest structure on Ebirah's forehead, causing great pain for the crustacean. Ebirah screeched loudly as it tried to ignore the pain and climb back on top of the creature. Seeing that the ice warrior was throwing another punch at it, Ebirah lashed out with its big pincer and grabbed the ice arm. Using all of its strength, Ebirah tried to snap the arm in half with its pincer's crushing pressure, but the ice arm was just too thick. The pincer couldn't cut through, but the intense pressure Ebirah was apply caused it to actually break, rendering its most powerful weapon useless.
Elsa cried out in pain due to her right arm feeling like it was being crushed. Once the lobster's pincer broke and it was forced to let go while screeching in pain, she thrusted her left arm over to hold it gingerly, causing the ice warrior do the same. This resulted in Ebirah getting slammed in the face by the warrior's left elbow, knocking the lobster away. As she and her ice warrior rubbed their respective arms, Ebirah angrily slammed its bulk on top of the warrior once again. The blow sent Elsa falling to the ground again, which allowed Ebirah to easily pin the ice creature's left arm against its chest while slamming one of its right legs on top of the right arm. Just as Ebirah was about to bash the hell out of the ice warrior with its pincers, something from behind yanked it off.
Gigantis roared angrily at Ebirah as he slammed the lobster against the seafloor a couple times by its tail. He knew Elsa was inside of the ice warrior (it wasn't that hard to figure out when only one person in the kingdom has ice powers), and its assault on her pissed him off. Once he slammed it against the seafloor for a third time, Gigantis swam as fast as he could in the short distance that was between him and his opponent, and slammed his body against it as hard as he could, causing Ebirah to shriek in pain. Using his fists, he punched the lobster's underbelly and ripped off two of its legs and one antenna, all while Ebirah thrashed and screeched in pain underneath him.
Elsa groaned loudly as she pushed herself off the ground, causing her warrior to do the same. After this, she was retiring from monster fighting forever. As she looked around for Ebirah, she saw that Gigantis was keeping the lobster preoccupied. Seeing that she had a perfect opportunity to land a killing blow, Elsa began looking around for her warrior's sword. Seeing that it was sticking into the ground not too far away from her, she commanded her ice warrior to go over and grab the sword. In the amount of time it took to retrieve the weapon, Ebirah was now off the seafloor and grappling with Gigantis. Gigantis was easily overcoming the lobster with his great strength, but Ebirah was trying to stab its small pincer into Gigantis' throat. Knowing she had to act fast, Elsa had her warrior race over to the dueling creatures as fast as it could. Not making the same mistake as she did last time, Elsa had her warrior swing its sword in advance as soon as it was half the distance away from Ebirah, which proved to be a smart move. Just as the ice warrior reached Ebirah, the sword's blade slashed across the lobster's backside.
Ebirah screeched in pain as it felt a slicing pain on its backside. Whatever it was, it was able to slice through part of its exoskeleton with ease, but fortunately it didn't cut all the way through. Ebirah shoved Gigantis away and used the momentum it gained to turn around to see what was attacking it. While it did that, Elsa's ice warrior swung its sword again. The moment Ebirah was fully facing her warrior, the sword's blade sliced across the lobster's face. The blade managed to slice off what remained of Ebirah's forehead crest, in addition to some of the front of its face. Ebirah screeched in pain as clear blood seeped out from its wounded face and into its remaining eye. It needed to get away right now! With extreme quickness, Ebirah broke away from Gigantis and the ice warrior and swam for the open ocean. At that moment, neither of them noticed movement in the shadows of the seafloor.
Not wanting to let her parents' killer get away, Elsa tried to chase after the lobster, but Gigantis tried to stop her by blocking her with his body. "Elsa, stop," Gigantis said, grabbing its shoulder to try and hold her ice warrior in place. "You can't catch up to it, and I'm not letting you go track it down in this thing. Just forget about getting revenge on it and come on; it won't ever come back here after what we both did to it."
Elsa ignored him and made her ice warrior shove him out of its way with both its left hand and body, but Ebirah was almost out of sight. Knowing that Gigantis was right about not being able to catch it, she angrily made the ice warrior throw its sword as hard as it could at the departing sea creature. She and her shouted angrily at her failure, but at that moment her powers started acting up. Ice spikes began jutting out of the ice creature's body in various places, which caused the water to start freezing around its body. Seconds after this began, Elsa started panicking, which only made things worse. Upon seeing things getting worse, she cut herself off from her ice warrior in hopes that it would stop the ice, but it didn't.
Gigantis swam over to the ice warrior, ignoring the ice that was starting to accumulate on him, and tried to bash open its chest in order to free Elsa, but it wasn't breaking. Suddenly, the ice warrior began talking to him, which startled both him and Elsa. "Get my sword and stab me through the chest. I will do the rest." Seeing that he didn't have a better option, Gigantis swam over to where the sword was thrown and grabbed it. When he came back, he looked inside the see-through ice, which was now starting to freeze over, and motioned for Elsa to move over to the right. When she did, Gigantis thrusted the sword's blade into the ice warrior, eliciting a shout of pain from the warrior. Gigantis watched in stunned silence as the warrior sliced the sword's blade downward, cutting a thin gap in itself. Before the ice could freeze it over, the ice warrior gripped both sides of the wound and pulled its own chest open with all of its might. Seeing that this was his chance, Gigantis reached in and grabbed Elsa, who was knocked unconscious when the water rushed inside, and squeezed his hand shut tight enough so that she wouldn't be swept away by the water, but not tight enough to crush her body. Knowing that she didn't have much time left before she would run out of oxygen, he used all of his strength to swim back up to the surface. Once he broke through the water, Gigantis opened his hand to allow Elsa to breath. For the first few moments, she didn't move, but all of a sudden, she began coughing out water and gasped for air.
"Oh my god, I thought I was done for," Elsa said after taking in big gulps of air. She looked around and saw she was in the palm of Gigantis' hand. "Thank you for saving me," she said to him.
Gigantis didn't say anything as he turned to look at the water below him. Elsa's ice magic was probably still out of control down there, and if he didn't do anything about it, the fjord would be frozen once again. Without saying a word, he dunked his head under the water while keeping Elsa above. Gigantis saw that in the place of the ice warrior was this enormous and ever-growing mass of ice. Since there wasn't any love around to save the day this time, the only thing that ice was going to melt was his beam. He charged up his nuclear energy and unleashed a Spiral Fire Ray. As soon as the beam struck the enormous mass of ice, it slowly began thawing out. He kept this up for a few minutes, ignoring the urge breath and his nosebleed until the ice was completely gone. When his job was done, Gigantis' head emerged from the water and he began gasping for air.
"Is the ice gone?" Elsa asked.
"Yeah, it's gone now," Gigantis replied as he took in deep breaths of air and wiped the blood off of his nose. "I'm surprised I held my beam for that long," he said as he took her back to the harbor.
Everyone in the harbor began cheering as Gigantis came over to them. Well, all except a small group of people. Otto and the others from Weselton were freaking out a bit about Gigantis even though the monster saved their ship and seemingly got rid of Ebirah. "What is that thing and why is it coming over here?" Otto asked Anna.
"That's the Queen's pet monster," Villard said before Anna could reply.
"Actually, his name is Gigantis, and he's our kingdom's protector, so he won't hurt you," Anna said, sending a glare to Villard. "He's been really helpful lately, what with all these monsters showing up for some reason."
Gigantis approached the dock and everyone made room as his hand holding Elsa lowered onto the ground. Once it was level enough, Elsa climbed off his hand safely. Gigantis began shrinking down to his regular height before morphing back into Jason. As Jason began climbing out of the water and onto the dock, Anna rushed over to her sister and gave her a big hug. "Elsa, what were you doing out there and what was that giant ice man?"
"I was inside of it; controlling it. I thought I would help Jason kill Ebirah, but it managed to get away. After that, things kind of got out of hand, but Jason took care of everything, so there's no need to worry," Elsa explained.
"Everything except the monster," Villard muttered.
"Wait, so Gigantis, that monster, is also someone named Jason?" Otto asked. "I'm a bit confused."
As if on cue, Jason pulled himself onto the dock. He was tired after what he just went through and could go for a long nap. "I am Jason," he said through a couple of pants. "Gigantis is just the name for my monster form because it sounds cooler than my actual name. Everyone just calls me Jason, though. You can call me whatever you want." He began walking away from everyone towards the castle. "If you'll excuse me, I think I hear a bed calling my name."
"Jason, you have to go find that creature," Elsa said to him.
Jason stopped in place and turned to face her. "But I'm tired, Elsa. You've had me searching for that thing for the past two days straight from morning to night. It's came here and it got its ass kicked, so I doubt it's going to want to come back here unless it needs another ass kicking. If it does come back, I'll fight it again, but I'm not going back out there for another wild goose chase." He started walking away again.
Elsa looked at him with a frustrated look. "I am the Queen here, so what I say goes, Jason. You work for me, and if I don't feel like my kingdom is safe, then I have the right to tell you to do whatever I want to make it safe. I don't think it's safe with something like that swimming around in our waters, so go back out there and kill it!"
Anna placed her hand on Elsa's shoulder in an attempt to calm her down. "I think you need to let this go. Jason's been working hard for the past couple days and he deserves to rest."
"He can rest when his job is done," Elsa replied, saying it loud enough for Jason to hear.
"I did do my job. The kingdom is standing without any damage and the monster is gone. Why won't you understand that I don't want to kill an animal just because it was doing something that was natural behavior?" Jason replied, almost pleading with her in a way.
"Because I thought that if anyone would understand why I would want that thing dead, it would be you!" Elsa shouted. "Both our parents were taken away from us by monsters, Jason, and I know you want to kill the ones who killed your parents more than anything."
"That's because mine were killed by sadistic bastards who did it for the hell of it! That creature out there," Jason shouted, pointing at the open ocean, "didn't kill your parents for fun. I'm not trying to be a jerk or an asshole when I say this, but your parents were in the wrong place at the wrong time. Your parents' death is tragic, but avenging them by killing an animal, no matter its size, is not going to make things better."
"It would make me feel better! That thing took the only people I was able to seek comfort in for my childhood, and I want it to pay, Jason! Why won't you understand that?"
"Because I thought I did make you feel better! That's what you told me, and that's what I felt, but I guess we were both wrong!" Jason started walking away. "I'm done with this conversation."
At that moment, Elsa just lost control of her anger. As she began walking after him, everyone immediately got out of her way and cleared a path. "You wanna know something? I thought I was better too. Your comforting certainly made me feel better because it made my troubles go away and I could think without being attacked by pure depression and misery. I didn't want those feelings coming back so soon after everything went away, so that is the only reason why what happened that day happened!" As soon as she finished her last sentence, Elsa covered her mouth in surprise. She couldn't believe she had just said that to him in such a cruel and heartless manner, and in front of all these people no less. As Jason just stood there with his back facing her, she walked over to him slowly. "Jason… I am so sorry. I really shouldn't have said that."
"No, you mean you're sorry that you said that in front of the entire kingdom." Jason just started walked away. He knew exactly what she meant and it hurt him more than any physical pain he ever felt in his life. He felt used, and he just needed to get away from her.
"Jason, wait. I didn't mean it like that, just please, let me explain," Elsa said as she rushed after him.
Jason stopped and whipped his body around, morphing into Gigantis as he did so. "LEAVE ME ALONE!" he roared loudly, causing Elsa to stop in her tracks. "You've said enough." Elsa looked at his hurt face and felt even worse, but she deserved it after what she just said. As Jason charged into the forest, Elsa ran back to the castle as tears began falling from her eyes. Both of their hearts were broken in that instant.
"Elsa!" Anna shouted as she watched her distraught sister run away. She started running after her sister, leaving everyone behind as they watched.
"Is this really necessary?" Otto shouted to Anna. "I do have business to discuss with her."
Kristoff turned to him. "It'll be best to discuss things with Elsa once she's feeling better. If you want you can wait in the castle until things are better."
"I guess I don't have much choice now, do I?" Otto replied as he and Villard followed Kristoff and Olaf to the castle castle.
Everyone who was left there began quietly returning to whatever it was they were doing. They were a bit shook up by the heated conversation between Jason and Elsa, and really didn't know what to think of it. Most of them were too confused about what either of them were talking about to pick a side, but the ones who thought they knew something believed that Jason was wrong and that Elsa should punish him for his plain disregard for her authority. Mephiles stayed behind with Gzilla. "Aren't we going to go talk to him?" the demon asked.
"No," Gzilla said before he began following Kristoff and the others back to the castle.
"Can we beat the shit out of Elsa for hurting him?" Mephiles asked with glee.
"No! We need to leave him alone so he can calm himself down. Believe me, I want to help him and I want to there for him, but right now he's probably not in the mood for anyone to talk to him," Gzilla said. "And we are not hurting Elsa."
"Damn it!" Mephiles said, kicking the air in frustration. "But she's the whole reason this happened! She hurt our best friend, and I think we need to destroy her for it."
Gzilla facepalmed. "Just shut up about it or you'll make things worse. I'm sure things will get better."
As Mephiles floated after Gzilla, he quietly muttered to himself. "A Gravity Hammer to the head makes everything better..."
When Elsa reached her bedroom, she slammed her door, threw herself onto her bed, and started crying her eyes out. As she sobbed into her pillow, she heard her sister's voice come from the hallway.
"Elsa, can I come in?"
Elsa pushed herself up and sat in a curled up ball. "Yes," she said through brief sobs.
The door gently opened and Anna stepped inside. The sight of her sister made her wonder why she even said what she said to Jason in the first place. "What's going on, Elsa? Ever since we found out what happened to our parents you haven't been yourself." She sat on the bed next to her and hugged her tightly. "Maybe if you talk about it, it'll make everything better."
"I've already said it to everyone. I just want revenge on that creature for taking away our parents when I needed them most. No one seems to see that creature as I do."
"Hey, I know what you're going through. A few days ago I was thinking the same way you are now. But now I'm not."
"What made you stop thinking like that?" Elsa asked, rubbing some tears out of her eyes.
"I thought about what Jason said and took a look at it from his perspective. After that, my feelings of anger and vengeance just went away. Maybe you should try doing that too because your need for revenge has just made you hurt someone who cares about you a whole lot." Anna gently stopped hugging Elsa and sat in front of her. "What exactly happened that day between you and Jason?"
Elsa looked down to the side as she spoke, feeling ashamed. "After watching that video, Jason was holding me and trying to calm me down, and while he was talking I…kissed him. More than once."
"Awwww, how cute," Anna said. Then she realized why her sister's words affected Jason the way they did. "Oh Elsa, please tell me what you said to him wasn't true."
"It kinda was and kinda wasn't," Elsa replied, pressing her knees closer into her chest. "I did kiss him because of a selfish need to feel better, but I think I do have feelings for him. I was going to tell him all about this when we were alone. I wanted to tell him when we were alone because I wanted to kiss him again to see if I do truly love him, but then Ebirah showed up and I never got the chance."
Anna smiled at her sister. "I think I know the answer to that."
"What makes you think you know when I don't even know?"
"Look at how you're reacting to what you told him. You care about him a whole lot, and it shows. Also, the way you look at him some times gives it away as well. Search through your feelings. Think about every good memory you and him had together, and see how you feel about them. Trust me, I know what I'm talking about when it comes to true love."
Elsa smiled a little as she sniffled and wiped her eyes using her sleeve. "Says the girl who wanted to marry someone she only met that day," she said with a small laugh.
"That was only one time, Elsa," Anna laughed. "I'm much wiser now, and the signs are obviously there."
"What signs?"
"Well, He came to our universe and spent a whole lot of time with you, he's been nice to you ever since he got here, he's done everything for you, and he's really handsome. If that ain't true love than I dunno what is."
"I think I'll be the judge of that," Elsa said, chuckling gently. She took a deep breath and closed her eyes. After going through every happy memory that involved Jason, she was blushing.
"I think someone's in loooove," Anna said playfully.
Upon opening her eyes, Elsa nodded. "I think you're right. I am in love." Then she looked down at the bed sadly. "I doubt he still is after what I've said."
"We'll never know until we find him," Anna said with a huge smile. "Come on, we have to get you to your true love! Love must be saved!" she shouted triumphantly and rushed out of the room.
Elsa chuckled and ran after her. "Wait for me, or else it won't be saved."
"I think I would have been a much better guardian than that Gigantis creature," Villard said to the others who were with him and Otto in the castle's library. Sitting in the room, looking absolutely bored, were Gzilla, Mephiles, and Kristoff, who were forced to listen to him as they waited for Anna to straighten things out with Elsa. When Gzilla and Mephiles were trying to get to their rooms, Kristoff somehow managed to convince Gzilla to come keep him company while he was forced to stay with the royal folks from Weselton. Since Gzilla was convinced, it meant that Mephiles was forced to join him (in Gzilla's words, "if I'm gonna suffer, then you are too"). "I would have stabbed that thing in the eyes and…"
Mephiles interrupted him. "No, you wouldn't. You would be squashed into the ground, or eaten, or drowned since the fight would be underwater. Any of those options would do quite nicely for me right about now so I don't have to listen to you drone on about doing something impossible. Now shut up."
"How dare you! I may not be the Duke any more, but I am still more important than you," Villard said. "I have the right to talk about whatever I want, and no one…"
"Villard?" Otto asked, interrupting him.
"Yes, sir?"
"Do what the floating creature said and shut up."
"Yes, sir…"
Otto silently sighed in pleasure. At least now it was quiet enough for him to think about what he would say to Queen Elsa. Aside from the giant lobster and the Queen rushing off in depression because of Arendelle's protector being hurt by something she said, everything was going to plan. Silently, he chuckled. Soon Weselton will be richer than it was before. Everything the King had told Elsa in his letter was a lie. Their kingdom wasn't in poverty. They were still a rich kingdom and just wanted Arendelle back as a trade partner so that more money could be gained. Hopefully, that fool Villard wouldn't screw everything up just by being there. Just as Otto was wondering how long this comforting nonsense would go on, he saw Anna rush by the library's open doors with Elsa following her. "Queen Elsa, where are you going?" he said as he rushed to the door. "We have important things to discuss, so I hope whatever you're doing is important." He was starting to get impatient and annoyed by all of these interuptions.
Elsa stopped running and walked back over to the library's doorway. "We'll discuss our trade agreement after I take care of something more important." Without even waiting to hear Otto's reply, she began running after her sister. Although she wanted to discuss things with Otto, she felt that fixing things between herself and Jason was more important.
Gzilla and Mephiles walked past Otto and went into the hallway. They knew that what Elsa was going to do involved their friend. "Do you even know where to look for him?" Gzilla asked her.
Stopping, Elsa turned around to face them. "He's somewhere in the forest, so that's where I'll start looking. Why, do you have an idea of where he could be?"
"Yes, but we're not going to tell you anything until you tell us what you'll be saying to him. I can't believe you said something like that to him, and I'm not going to let you hurt him again," Gzilla said in a serious voice while Mephiles just glared at her.
"I'm going to apologize for everything I've done to him these past few days. I feel awful about what happened and I want to make it up to him. Please tell me where he's at."
Gzilla was silent for a few moments, unsure whether or not he should say anything. Jason was his closest friend, and he hated seeing him get hurt. He turned to Mephiles. "What do you think, should we tell her?"
At that moment, Anna came running back. "What's the hold up, Elsa?"
Elsa looked at her sister then back at Gzilla and Mephiles. "They're thinking about whether or not to help me find Jason."
"Please tell her where he's at. It's really important," Anna said, looking at both of them with pleading eyes.
One look into both Anna and Elsa's sad eyes made Mephiles cave in. "Tell her..." Although he was pissed at Elsa for breaking his friend's heart, he knew Elsa wasn't lying when she said she wanted to apologize, and she would probably make Jason feel better by telling him whatever it was she need to.
Gzilla nodded. "A month ago, we found this waterfall in the forest. Whenever Jason is emotionally hurt, he likes to go to wherever water is and just rest in it. It helps soothe him or something." He looked at Mephiles. "Open a portal there."
The sound of Mephiles opening one of his portals at the snap of his fingers caused Kristoff to casually walk out of the library before frantically rushing over to where his friends were. "Please let me come with you guys. I really don't want to stay with them. That Villard guy is really getting on my nerves," Kristoff said to Anna.
"Someone needs to stay here and make sure they stay. Normally I would let personal matters wait until after business involving my kingdom is over, but this is one personal matter that can't wait until that. Do your best Kristoff, we won't be gone too long."
Kristoff watched sadly as his friends went into the portal, which closed behind Anna when she went in. "But...I want to go too..."
As soon as the small group exited Mephiles' portal, Elsa and Anna looked around in amazement at the area's beauty. "I never knew something like this was so close to our kingdom," Elsa said. The waterfall was pretty big and it spilled into a large, deep pool of water. The surrounding land area had beautiful flowers growing all around and the nearby trees were flowering.
"I think I better get him since I'm the only one here who can breathe underwater," Gzilla said before he started walking into the pool of water. After leaping into the deeper part, he dived down toward the bottom, and sure enough, there was Jason. Jason was still in his Gigantis form. He had his arms wrapped around his knees and appeared to be resting. Gzilla swam over to him and gently shook his shoulder. "Hey, wake up."
Gigantis woke up in an instant and immediately attacked Gzilla with a headbutt.
"Hey!" Gzilla shouted while avoiding the attack. "It's me!"
Gigantis calmed down when he saw it was only Gzilla. "Sorry, G."
"It's alright. Ebirah is back, and we need you to come fight it off again."
Without saying another word, Gigantis swam back up to the surface. He would have thought that after the ass kicking Ebirah took the last time it came here that the crustacean wouldn't ever want to go back to Arendelle's waters again, but he thought wrong. When he climbed onto dry land, he discovered that he was wrong about more than just that.
Elsa slowly walked over to him with sorrow-filled eyes. "Jason, I am so sorry about what I said."
Gigantis ignored her and looked over to Gzilla, who had just now surfaced. "Okay, what the hell is this?"
"Since you wouldn't have come of there if I would have told you Elsa wanted to talk to you, I needed to lure you out. She's come to apologize, so hear her out," Gzilla said as he climbed out onto the shoreline.
"We'll leave you alone so you can talk in private," Anna said before she and the others left, leaving Gigantis and Elsa alone.
Gigantis morphed back into Jason as he crossed his arms. He gave her an irritated look. "Well, get on with it."
"I'm sorry about what I said to you," Elsa said as she slowly walked up to him. "I shouldn't have done it in front of so many people, but I just got so angry that it spilled out. What I said was what I wanted to tell you when I woke you up."
"So you did kiss me just so you could feel better and not because you actually feel anything for me. Gee, thanks for the apology," Jason said, putting sarcasm into his last sentence.
As Jason started walking back to the water in disgust, Elsa called out to him. "Wait, please don't leave. Let me finish." When he stopped and turned to her, she continued. "It's true that I kissed you to feel better about myself and to get over what grief I was going through. The only reason I was planning on telling you this was so that I could find out if I do love you. After searching through every memory of us together, I know that I do love you. Every thought about you makes me feel extraordinary inside. You're someone I care about with all my heart, and I know that deep down inside you feel the same. I know I haven't shown that through my actions these past few days, but I really do care about you. And you were right about Ebirah. I've accepted that what it did wasn't out of evil, and…I'm letting go of my need for vengeance and revenge. Now that I think about it, I'm sure my parents wouldn't be too happy about me trying to kill another living being." She walked over to him, stopping in front of him. "Please forgive me, Jason."
For a few moments, Jason was silent. He looked at Elsa's face, seeing both the emotional pain and the truth in her eyes. She looked like she was sorry for what she did, but he needed to make sure. Reaching out, he stroked her cheek with his right hand softly. "Do you truly love me or are you just saying that to make me feel better?"
"Jason, ever since we met you've been there for me and have stood by my side. Whenever you're around I feel happy because you always know how to cheer me up no matter how bad I'm feeling. Being this close to you makes my heart race with joy. I never believed in true love because I didn't believe anyone could ever love me for who I really was. Then you came along and suddenly, here was someone I could somewhat relate to. I think fate wants us to be together." She let out a small laugh. "I mean, you traveled from another universe just to see me, so if that isn't a sign that we're supposed to be together, then I don't know what is. I do know one thing for sure. I want to be with you, and I'm ready to be with you." She gently stroked his hair and smiled. "I love you, Jason."
All Jason could do was smile after hearing her say those things. "I love you too, Elsa; I truly have ever since I came here." He wrapped his arms around her waist, holding her close while she did the same. When he rested his forehead against her's, he looked into her eyes.
She smiled as she looked back into his eyes. "Are you going to kiss me?" she whispered to him softly.
"Dunno," he whispered back. "Will you be kissing me back because you love me or just so you can make yourself happy?"
Elsa gave him a look of playful annoyance. "Guess we'll have to find out, now won't we?" She leaned in at the same time he did and they shared a loving kiss. It was wonderful to her, almost like magic. Her grief and anger must have blocked out that magical feeling the first time they kissed, but this time she felt it. She wanted more, but this time it was because she truly loved it and loved that he was the one who made her feel this way. She broke off the kiss only to kiss him again three more times. "Mmm," she said, laying her forehead on his while grinning at him. "That was so amazing."
"It was everything I hoped for," Jason said with a laugh before kissing her again. "I love you," he said through each kiss that followed.
"Love you too," Elsa replied, smiling happily.
"AWWWWWWWWWWW!" Anna shouted as she, Gzilla, and Mephiles watched the happy new couple from a short distance. "You two are so cute together."
"Anna!" Elsa shouted, her face turning bright red with embarrassment. "How long have you been watching us?"
"After we heard you both say 'I love you' to each other the first time," Anna said. "You two really are a cute couple, you know that?"
Elsa or Jason could say anything about the privacy of their moment being interrupted, the sounds of frightened people screaming in terror, followed by a screeching roar that was very familiar, were heard. "Oh you have got to be kidding me," Jason said in absolute annoyance as he and the others began running back to Arendelle.
"I thought you said that Ebirah wouldn't come back," Elsa said to Jason.
"Well I thought it would be smart enough not to, but I guess not." Jason suddenly stopped and turned to face the others. "We'll never make it back in time. Mephiles, portal me to the fjord and then portal the others back to the castle."
Mephiles nodded and waited for Jason to morph into Gigantis before portaling him away. After that portal closed, the demon opened another one leading back to the castle, which he and the others ran through.
The sight of Ebirah making its way into the harbor was causing the entire kingdom to go into a panic. People ran all over the place in a desperate search to find safety as the creature smashed the dock with one of its legs. Despite missing two limbs, Ebirah was able to walk around semi-fine. Knowing that it was too badly injured to hunt in the ocean for quite some time, it began looking for Gigantis to finish their fight. That's how he came across this human hive. Seeing a vast opportunity for food here, the giant lobster decided to come ashore to feast.
Otto, Villard, and Kristoff were watching this unfold from the library window. "Does this happen all the time here?" Otto asked Kristoff.
"Well, when everything was un-frozen about a year ago there was this giant fire bird monster, then a couple days after that there was a giant dragonfly monster with an army of man-sized dragonflies, and a month ago was when three giant octopuses showed up," Kristoff replied.
Villard began freaking out as he watched Ebirah go after the citizens of Arendelle on land, trying to stab them with its smaller pincer. Even though he wasn't the Duke of Weselton anymore, he still had the greedy and economical mind of one. "If that creature destroys everything, Arendelle will be useless to us as an additional money source! Oh, where is that blasted protector at to stop that creature?" The second he said that, he covered his mouth.
"Villard, you idiot!" Otto shouted. He quickly turned to Kristoff and began making an excuse. "Please do ignore him. He doesn't know what he's saying due to his senility starting to kick in."
Kristoff wasn't buying it, and the look he gave Otto showed it. "Your kingdom really isn't poor, is it? When the Queen hears about this..."
Knowing the ruse was up, Otto interrupted Kristoff by pulling his sword out of his hip-mounted scabbard and shoved Kristoff against a nearby bookshelf while holding the sword up against his neck. "But she'll never know now, will she? If you speak a word of this to her, I swear you will never breathe again. My King needs more riches, and if I don't get them from your kingdom, I will lose my head." He began pressing the sword's blade against Kristoff's neck. "So you make sure that the Queen agrees to trade with us again or it will be you who doesn't have a head."
At that moment, Mephiles' portal opened up and Elsa, Anna, Mephiles, and Gzilla stepped out. The first thing Anna saw was the new Duke of Weselton holding a sword up to her boyfriend's throat. "Get away from him!" Anna shouted as she ran at the man. When Otto turned to see what was going on, he recieved a strong punch in the face from Anna. The blow made Otto and his sword fall to the floor. While Kristoff rubbed the area of his neck where the blade was held against, Anna hugged him tightly. "Are you okay?"
"Yeah, I'm fine. I just found out what the King of Weselton's true plan for fixing things between his kingdom and ours was, and Otto here didn't want your sister to find out," Kristoff said as he hugged her back.
"Oh? And what plan would that be?" Elsa asked, glaring at Otto.
"He's lying, your majesty!" Otto said as he began getting back on his feet.
"From what we saw, it looks like the only one here that's lying is you," Gzilla said.
"This does not concern you, beast!" Otto shouted.
As Gzilla began menacingly walking over to Otto, Elsa placed her hand on his chest to stop him, then she looked at Kristoff. "Kristoff, what did he tell you?"
"After Villard voiced his concern about our kingdom being useless to Weaseltown with the giant monster running amuk, Otto held me at sword-point and said that the only reason his kingdom was trying to make amends was to get additional money," Kristoff explained.
"It's all a made up story, your majesty," Otto said.
"It's quite true. I never said such a thing!" Villard added.
Elsa just glared at the two men. She trusted Kristoff more than these two. Heck, she trusted Mephiles more than them. "Get out of my kingdom, and tell your King to that I will never ever trade with his kingdom again."
"We can't go with that monster attacking outside!" Villard shouted.
Suddenly, a loud splash and a familiar roar was heard by all. Elsa smirked at them. "Now you can."
The sound of Gigantis' roar caused Ebirah to forget chasing the humans and turn to engage its opponent, but before it could, something from behind grabbed its tail and swung it around a couple times before sending it flying back into the ocean. It took a few seconds for Ebirah to resurface, and when it did, it saw Gigantis heading right for it. Even though it knew it didn't have a chance, Ebirah had to either kill him or die trying. When it dived underwater, it prompted Gigantis to do the same.
Even though Gigantis didn't want to kill the giant lobster, he was going to have to since it was evident that Ebirah was going to be a constant threat to Arendelle. As the two giant monsters swam full speed at each other, Gigantis unleashed his Atomic Ray. Unlike the last couple times he used it, Ebirah dodged this one by diving out of its path. While Gigantis chased Ebirah with the beam, the giant crustacean continued to avoid it using its agility. Needing to breathe, Gigantis ended the beam, which allowed Ebirah to slam into his left side.
Unfortunately, Ebirah wasn't counting on Gigantis grabbing hold of it. The giant saurian had a firm grip on its small pincer arm and wasn't letting go. Gigantis tugged on it with all of his might, and with the additional strainage from Ebirah's struggle to get away, Gigantis managed to rip the arm out of its socket. Ebirah began to screech in pain, but an Atomic Ray to its face made it cease briefly. Once Gigantis grabbed the lobster's tail, he swung it downwards, sending it crashing into the seafloor.
Ebirah pushed itself back onto its legs, but it was soon pinned down by Gigantis when the giant saurian slammed his feet on top of its backside. Gigantis spotted the area on its backside where Elsa's ice warrior managed to slice through. With a plan in mind, he leaned down and began pounding and ripping away at the sliced area. Ebirah screeched in pain as more and more of its exoskeleton was torn off, exposing its softer body inside. Once enough of it was exposed, Gigantis began charging up his nuclear energy and released a Spiral Fire Ray from his mouth. Ebirah's screeches of pain intensified as the powerful beam struck its insides, but it soon ceased mere moments later. The beam had sliced Ebirah in two.
With the fight now over, Gigantis grabbed the two pieces of the lobster and roared victoriously before returning to the surface. He failed to notice something moving about in the nearby shadows. When he surfaced, the waves he generated nearly capsized Otto's ship, which was close by. "Sorry," he said before wading back to shore. Before he went over to the harbor where Elsa was, he took the two halves of Ebirah over to the forest behind the castle for later consumption. Gigantis did like the taste of fried lobster. Once he was done with that, he returned to the dock Elsa was waiting for him on and shrunk down in size. After morphing back into Jason, he turned to look at the departing ship. "Why are they leaving?"
"Because they just wanted to trade with us to be slightly more richer than they already are," Elsa said. "They won't be coming back here anytime soon."
"Ugh, what scumbags," Jason retorted as he wrapped his arms around her waist and hugged her.
"Greedy scumbags is more like it," Elsa said while she hugged him back. They embraced each other for a few more seconds before Elsa gently broke away from him. "Jason, I want to talk to you about our relationship."
"Is this a good talk or a bad one?" he asked her, looking rather nervous.
Elsa smiled and held his hand. "It's nothing bad," she said, giving his hand a loving squeeze. "I just want to tell you that I don't think we should reveal it to everyone just yet. After what happened today with you being standoffish against me, some of the people might not like it that we've suddenly announced that we're together. After some time has passed, then we'll let everyone now. You aren't mad about that, right?"
Jason shook his head. "No, not at all, as long as our friends will know."
"Well of course they'll know. Half of them already know anyway. I just wanted you to know that we can't show our relationship out in public, but when we're in the castle, we can do just about anything we want." Elsa let go of his hand when the townspeople began coming out of their homes once they noticed the battle was over and Ebirah was dead.
"I'm gonna go eat, so when you go back inside, tell G that if he wants lobster he can come out and eat some with me," Jason said before morphing back into Gigantis and started wading into the ocean.
"I thought you said you didn't like killing animals," Elsa shouted to him as he began leaving.
"I don't, it's just that when I do, I don't want to make their death be in vain. If I consume it, that means I didn't kill it for nothing; I'm getting a meal out of it," Gigantis replied. And with that, he went out to eat.
The Southern Isles
Hans sat in his throne room, getting very impatient. Just where was his partner this time? Suddenly, some shadows in the corner of the throne room began moving around until a snake-like form slithered across the floor over to the throne. It stopped just five feet away from Hans and began expanding and growing until it resembled the familiar upper torso of Bagan. "Took you long enough. Did you see what you wanted to see?" Hans asked the demon.
Bagan looked at Hans with displeasure. "You seem to be misremembering your role in all of this. You do not tell me what to do at a whim. I do whatever I want, and will do something you want only if it suits my interests. Luckily for you, this Gigantis creature you speak of sparks my interests. And to answer your question, yes, I saw what I needed to see. For now."
For the past several months, Bagan has been staying in Hans' kingdom, killing and consuming the souls of some of his townspeople (Hans made it so that, for now, Bagan can only kill the older townsfolk as to not raise suspicion if everyone began dying off quickly) and souls of people who live in other kingdoms, such as Corona, Weselton, various other nearby kingdoms, and even Arendelle, in order to recreate his kaiju body.
"And? Do you think you can defeat him when you have a new body?" Hans asked.
"He fought a giant lobster; that really isn't much of a challenge," Bagan said. "My powers are almost at the level where I can really test if this creature is worthy for me to battle."
"How, by going up against him?" Hans asked. "You won't be much of a challenge to him the way you are right now. He'd probably just step on you, or roast you with his fire breath."
Bagan simply laughed at the stupidity of his 'partner.' Of course he couldn't fight Gigantis as he was now. "I am not going to be the test, you fool. I have plans in mind for seeing what this Gigantis can do, and with my power growing with each new soul, the possibilities are limitless." With nothing more to say to Hans, Bagan chuckled with ominous laughter as his form dissolved once again until it was a snake, a king cobra to be exact, slithering back into the shadows.
The End...?
A/N: Once again, I am really sorry about the long wait for an update. I'll try not to make it happen again, but no promises. This one felt really long to write; the editing took a couple days.
godzillafan1: Rapunzel and Eugene make a cameo when Anna's running out among the people when she's singing "For the First Time in Forever", and the reason why people have Rapunzel be the cousin of Anna and Elsa is because there's this fanon that the reason Elsa and Anna's parents left was because they were going to Rapunzel and Eugene's wedding, along with the fact that Anna looks rather similar to Rapunzel, suggesting that there's some family connection there. I thought it would be fun to tie that fanon in as another thing my characters didn't know about this Frozen universe. Originally, Ebirah's part in the story wasn't going to be until close to the end, but I decided to bump it up. The Devilfish was inspired by the Devilfish that appeared in the Frankenstein Rises from the Grave fan fiction (it's on Kaijuphile), which is also where I got the idea to make Bagan a demon.
